Shepard Quest Mk V, Base of Operations (ME/MCU)

Here are a few ideas I've been bouncing around, though I'll want more info from Esbilon before formalizing:
Not sure what you're looking for here. Concrete questions are easier to answer.

NB1: I'm assuming Advanced Neural Implant gives Revy, Conrad and our Research Teams (but not Labs) +10 (NI) and Optical Computers upgrades the +10 (VI) to +15(VI).

@Esbilon if we could get some actual numbers for those two would be appreciated.
I've been thinking about this more than the question probably really deserves, but I'd like to keep with the program of having interesting results from new techs, and a few numerical bonuses aren't very interesting, even if they are very nice. However, the only thing that seems more interesting that I've been able to come up with is to change the number/size of the dice rolled, and that's pretty much equivalent. Suggestions for more interesting stuff would be appreciated.

If there is nothing interesting to do with these thigns, Advanced Neural Interfaces gives +5 to Revy, Heroes and Teams; and Optical Computers upgrades the VI bonus from +10 to +20.

On an unrelated note, @UberJJK could you reinsert the prices of used techs in the tech tree? It helps me keep track of what's what.

Well I already had to re-do the tree anyway...

Just to be clear you want me to add the prices for techs we've already researched right?

If so I'll do it tomorrow while I'm re-doing my plan.

...

I can't believe I somehow left that off...

Now I have to re-work the whole thing...

Does explain why I ended up with more research then I was expecting at the end...
Well, We'll just have to hope our research hero pans out, as they should be some extra research; and if we keep our current choice (In the event of it not panning out this turn) We'll get an alternative to TIR for shields against lasers, which would be fairly helpful, especially at the

Perhaps, instead of a research bonus for Advanced Neural Interfaces, roll the dice for each project twice, and take the higher? Though that would probably be too much.

Such as all dice sets becoming 10d20 instead of 10d10?

That would be pretty good as is Alanek's suggestion though that might be better for the computer upgrade rather than the interface.

Why it and not the invisible man?
Invisible Man has been in there ever since you first suggested it to go with TIR, :p

Edit: Actually, the six quarter projection now has some extra points at the end. I threw Mk. III suit in there for shits and giggles, but even that didn't fill it. What should our post-frigate priority be? Biotech?

Edit2: I think I'll tentatively put down the Mk. III and Advanced Xenobiogy. The remaining extra+bonuses can together add up to another tech, ideally whatever The Invisible Man unlocks.

Could I get a link to the current schedule then, please?

Currently, this factors in the +5 from Advanced Neural Interface and +10 from Optical Computing, though Ebsilon may go with something else (d12s, ect). Overflow is also taken into account, though rounded down (in situations where dice are invested into the last tech, high rolls there don't have their excess above the 95% guarantee cut in half. This is minor compared to not factoring in overflow though, and it will be removed when I go through quarter by quarter and assign the actual dice - was too tired for that today).

is casie on the list?
Nope! That's as good as anything else though - I figure we can vote for it then, since the main goal is to have a coherent strategy up to putting out the frigate.

Would it make more sense to put optical communication before QEC? Some lucky rolls or a couple omakes would be enough to make that happen a quarter earlier, and it wouldn't delay QEC either way.

Doesn't matter - won't be finished before the second quarter anyways since you need to do Advanced Mass Effect Theory to unlock it.

I guess you could technically do the theory+optical computing first, grab advanced neural interface second instead...lemme see if that ekes out a few more points.

Edit - Ohh, you mean if we get the150-200 bonus points to ensure completion of both? Worthy goal, I just didn't want to rely on that. But sure, lemme flip the order. I actually think computing is a slightly higher bonus anyways.

Edit 2 - There - yep, Optical Computing was definitely better overall - and we are like 3 references/omakes from snagging the Advanced Neural Interface.

We can't do that, though. Remember, Esbilon said that we can't research the unlocked tech the same quarter as we research it's prerequisite.
