SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

Literally the only way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is if Mr. Incubator gets to Madoka in these final moments, which as implied by the interlude he is already trying to do.

Excuse me for wanting to watch out for the one possible way to render a victory over Walpurgisnacht moot.
While a good idea on the face of it, there's nothing more we can say to Madoka about not contracting than has already been said. And splitting our attention while Wallynight is doing something different doesn't sound like a good thing to me. Simply, I think Madoka is beyond our ability to further meaningfully influence and we'll likely have to hope her Lemming Martyr complex doesn't override everything we've told her. That, or Junko kills the little bastard before he can do anything significant.

...we, IC, know that we don't want Madoka to contract, and this is most certainly her moment of weakness.

I think that's all the justification we need. We just need to call in, say we're doing fine, and that's IT! We don't need to hammer in the no-contract message, we just need to seem like we're WINNING.

'Madoka, you still alright? Good, we're making headway on Wally. See ya soon.'

Maybe evasive maneuvers are in order? It's pretty common for this kind of situation to end with a death beam shooting out of the obscuring smoke.

[x] Stay airborne.

You boost again to make sure you and the rest of the team maintain altitude...then there's a loud, low rumbling sound. The entire city begins to shake as the gears stop, before piping and machinery begin rising out of the earth. They start to peel, revealing gleaming, golden gears and machinery as the main gear clicks open, revealing a grand red curtain.

A city of glittering gold, made of spires and wires and machinery rises, before Mitakihara is rocked by a shockwave. Buildings are uprooted before they, too, begin to peel, and entire structures are assimilated into the grand machine.

A city-sized fortress constructs itself, and in the center is Walpurgisnacht itself, a gigantic gear with a sky-scraper sized stage. A crowd of mechanical men and women appear around the central stage, before the entire thing is lifted into the sky.

Whatever's left of the bridge between Kasamino and Mitakihara collapses, whatever's left in the city collapses, and a golden megafortress starts rising, straight towards you.

Nobody has time to react as the flying monstrosity collides into your party. You all hit the surface hard, and as soon as you do, you notice that it's still constructing itself. The golden gears and mechanisms take time to construct themselves in mid-air.

All that's there is a scaffold, and you can see golden panels clicking and whirring into place as the walls are quickly built over.

With our luck we'll get hit while we're talking and yell over the telepathy. Let's not split our attention from the final boss; Junko knows what's up, so hopefully she won't let her contract.

Also, that's a thing (good thing we got Madoka out, or she'd be dead right now). I guess all we can do for now is find the middle and go beat the shit out of it.
