SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

How's this?

[ ] (Someone give me the best way up to the gears without needing Timestop please)
[ ] Enter timestop once close enough to the gears
[ ] Find spring connecting gears
[ ] Attack with...
-[ ] Homura: Every explosive she can spare
-[ ] Sayaka/Kyouko: Detonating Chainblades
-[ ] Akane: Fire fist
-[ ] (Other Tokyo Girls I don't know the strengths of): (Their best ranged attack)
[ ] Find nearby stable skyscraper to land on
[ ] Leave TS

And someone fill the parentheses in.

[ ] Find spring connecting gears
[ ] Attack with...
[x] Where is this spring? Can we reach it and/or destroy it? Will destroying the shaft prevent Wally from being able to use it?

'Two questions. Where is it?'

'Deep inside the gears.'
Homura says.

'Can we reach it?'

'...Considering that several tons of high-explosives won't get to it, doubtful.'

'Mundane resistance.'
You say.

'And I don't think that's the only thing. Even with magical help, I still was not able to kill Walpurgis.' She frowns. 'And there hasn't been a single familiar...that's unusual.'

If we don't want to timestop our way up, we can get a chain connection that everyone can keep hold of (from Kyouko), and hop skyscrapers together, this time staying close together, and only timestop out if we're about to get flattened by another skyscraper or something.

We don't have to dodge fire breaths, but we have no idea what the spinning gears might unleash.

Bah. I got no ideas. Just going to go with the "possibly less grief-costly" transport bit and heading to bed. Feel free to revise it.

[x] Get a nice length of chain from Kyouko for everyone to hold onto.
[x] Everyone stays together. We're heading back up.
[x] Get a nice platform boost as a launcher.
[x] Homura, timestop us out if a threat's approaching.
[x] Hop skyscrapers and stuff.
[x] Go full timestop if non-timestop progress is bad.
[q] Wait for the taffy machine to finish spinning.

Can figure what to do (and what we can do) once we're up there.

Again, if we plan on boarding the beast, we need to shoot for a close to the center as possible, both to reduce the effects of the spin and to put us as close to the target as possible.

[x] Get a nice length of chain from Kyouko for everyone to hold onto.

"Okay..." You mutter as buildings pick themselves up. "Could you make a chain for everyone to hold onto?"

"Done." Kyouko throws it into the air, before you grip onto it as tightly as you can.

[x] Everyone stays together. We're heading back up.

"Everyone? Stick together." Suddenly, the entire thing stops in mid-air. The buildings are carried up by momentum, before Walpurgis begins to fall.

[x] Get a nice platform boost as a launcher.

That'll just make it easier for you to get to it. You boost up, with everyone right behind you doing their own jump. Everyone's there, with Akane holding her own as Walpurgis descends towards the ground.

[x] Homura, timestop us out if a threat's approaching.

The entire witch flies past you as you all ascend. Despite the distance, it's still enough to send you all sideways.

[x] Hop skyscrapers and stuff.

The skyscrapers are currently descending back towards the ground. "What the hell?!" You scream as you keep ascending, before Walpurgis crashes into the ground below. Anything that is still somehow standing collapses on impact, as a colossal ring of dust, debris and smoke rises from around the crater.

The gears start turning again, clicking and whirring as though they're trying to calculate something.

[x] Go full timestop if non-timestop progress is bad.

"Homura, the fuck is happening?!"

"I don't know." She says. "I...I've never gotten to this."

[OPTION SELECT]

[] Stay airborne.

[] Get to the ground.

She will turn all of fate's misfortune to nothing.
She will flood the earth with magic,
and take all of humankind into her play.
A moving stage construction.
If everything is a play, no unhappy things will exist.
It may be a tragedy, but it'll all be part of the script.
The play stops on Walpurgisnacht,
and the earth does not turn even once more.
The story will not change.
Tomorrow, and the day after, is the night of Walpurgis.

Well that's just fantastic. I suppose getting airborne probably saved us some trouble, though.
So.
Shall we descend upon it with a righteous fury and pound the crap out of it (In which case I recommend we hand Akane a giant sword again as part of the strike), or does someone have a better idea? I can't imagine leaving it to it's own devices can end well, and landing on the ground around it seems... foolhardy after what it just did.

I guess it's time for a boss transformation.

Staying away from the ground seems safer to me. At least until we have an idea about what is even going on right now.

Literally the only way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory is if Mr. Incubator gets to Madoka in these final moments, which as implied by the interlude he is already trying to do.

Excuse me for wanting to watch out for the one possible way to render a victory over Walpurgisnacht moot.

Yea, contacting Madoka may be a good idea. But how do we justify it IC, since our (the questers) primary motivation is from knowledge we gained from OOC sources?
