"I'm sorry-" They both said, before they both looked away. Tomo stared at her hands and twiddled her thumbs, as Akane just looked up at the sky awkwardly.

"...I'm sorry." Tomo said, quietly. "For...uh...kissing you." She took a deep breath and wiped her eyes. "...I'm so sorry."

"For what?" Akane asked. "For getting through my thick skull the only way you knew how?" Akane looked at her hands quietly. "...It took you kissing me to get the message because I'm so fucking thick. And even then I just pushed you away."

"I ran away." Tomo said, quietly. "...I ran away because I was scared. Do..." Tomo gulped. "...Do you like me back?"

Akane paused. Her breath was caught in her throat, before she sighed. "...No. No, I don't, Tomo." She said. "...I can't like you back. It's just...I like boys. I can't like you back and I'd rather say yes." She bit her lip. "...It'd make you a lot happier."

"...That's what I thought you were going to say." Tomo said, quietly. She let out a light, bitter laugh. "I knew you were going to say that." She started to sob again.

Akane looked at the ground. "I'm sorry." She said, quietly, before she pulled Tomo into a hug. "I'm sorry for making you cry."

"I-I knew this w-was going t-to happen." Sukuyo said. "...I knew th-that Tomo had a c-crush on her."

"That obvious, huh?"

"Y-yeah. She didn't hide it well."

You look at Yoko, and you frown. "...You'll be there for her, right?"

Yoko nods. "Yeah. I will. She needs someone." She smiles. "...I can't be her girlfriend...but I can at least be what I've always been."

"Her best friend?"

She nods. "Yeah."

Kyouko just quietly squeezes your hand. "...If you said no-"

"That didn't happen." You say. "...Hell, I like boys. I also like girls. And I like you a lot." You smile broadly. "The clincher was that I thought you were cute."

She smiles a little. "Uh, cute? I'm a criminal who swears too much to be cute."

"Bullshit. You squeak when I hug you too tight."

She laughs a little, before she wraps her arms around your waist. "So do you!"

"Heh..." You sigh. "...Let's not be too touchy-feely though." You say. "...We don't need to make Tomo hurt more."

She frowns. "...You're right."

Tomo's sobbing again, and she's got her arms around Akane right now. You're guessing that Akane just rejected her. There's a sense of finality, but it still probably hurts.
You hear the clanging of armor behind you.
