Perhaps a hug from Akane? So that there's no worrying about Akane having negative feelings towards her? Or would that just make it worse?
Also, NSMS: you can do both of those things at once. So hug and "you'll get through this".

Hugs are basically saying 'I'm not going to leave you, I want you to feel better'- Tomo seems more like she needs something along the lines of 'You'll get through this, this isn't the end of the world, and Akane doesn't hate you'. A hug would be a good idea, but on it's own it just feels... lacking.

Long story short, weird timing shenanigans+loading from a session containing many tabs. In other words, it was the latest post (as I could see it at the time), I made the post, and then upon refreshing the page, the next several pages appeared, which covered it. I think I just skimmed the vote post, or something. Derp. Sorry for the confusion. I suppose I'm more used to the 'hug' parts being bolded actions of their own.

"I know how it feels." Tomo says. "A-and I know what you've thought of me. I-I know what my parents think of me. I know what Akane thinks of me. I-I'm a problem. Everything would be better i-if I was gone! M-my parents would be better if I wasn't born!"

"Tomo..." Your mouth hangs open for a little bit as you search for words to say, before you shake your head. "Tomo, that's not true-!"

"They've been fighting more than ever! I-I fell for someone and made her hurt! I'm a burden for you and Yoko a-and everyone and-!" Tomo curls into a ball on her side of the booth, and she starts sobbing into her hands again. Yoko moves closer to her, but Tomo doesn't even respond.

So, Sayakaplomacy failed. Talking any further when Tomo's grief spiralling is a waste and possible witch out danger.
