Okay I've finally caught up to this thread this somehow disappeared from my alerts and wow we've already suffered a bad end haven't seen that in a while.

You and Tomo do a flying leap backwards, but you aren't fast enough. As soon as you jump, the witch brings what's left of its index finger back, and it flicks you in the face. You're sent flying backwards with a spray of blood from your nose, slightly concussed and dazed. You go somersaulting backwards, before you quickly slam into another a sideways bass drum. There's a loud thud as you bounce off of the drum and to the ground face-first.

Just as soon as it starts to rush towards you, though, you can see Yoko bringing up a wall made of brass. The hand slams into the wall with a loud crash, before Sukuyo comes in with two submachine guns blazing. Bullets riddle the witch's open palm, but it doesn't seem to react.

Tomo rushes over to your side as you stumble onto your feet. "Akane!" She says. "Are you okay?!"

"Yeah." You shake your head. "I'm fine. Just fine." You whip your remaining fist out, and it's immediately covered in flames. "Now just help me."

"Got it!" She says, and you both run forwards. The witch fires a shot at you, but you're still faster. You send a single, fast, enormous ball of flame towards it, and around you time seems to slow. You send multiple balls of flame towards the distracted witch, and with each one, the brass melts more and more.

The fingers are barely moving on the hand, and the rest of the thing is starting to become much more of a puddle than a hand.

It'll totally turn out to be that easy. Just because Moid likes to fuck with us. We'll end up having Red eat a fistful of Grief over paranoia.

Given the frequency of limb loss, what about a backup weapon?

Also, legs naturally have more muscle than arms. If her punches can mulch the average witch, she can probably punt Walpurgis like a football.
 
Akane's power is Overwhelming Strength. It's all magically enhanced. There should be no difference between her punches and kicks at this point. Besides, I'd rather lose an arm on a failed attack rather than a leg. Arms are fine to lose, legs kill mobility.

Kicks are way, way too flashy. I distinctly recall Sayaka beating the "don't be flashy/showy" lesson into Yoko earlier. As far as I'm concerend that lesson stands for all MG's.

But yes, Kicks are a valid backup attack in case of dual arms loss. Sayaka proved that by kicking Haruko to death after all.
