SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

Question. Was it ever established how big a gun Sukuyo could make? I've gathered that it has to be man portable, but how big within those limits?

It was never established how big a gun Sukuyo could make. However, Kyouko and Mami have shown the abilty to make upscaled versions of their weapons in the anime and Sayaka's certainly showed that she can do the same in quest. It's logical to assume that the newbies all have that ability too.

By all accounts Sukuyo is Borderlands, the Magical Girl and there should be no upperlimit on how big a gun she can make, or how much gun she can cram into a gun. I would however, say that making anything that fires something other than bullets is probably doomed to failure. "Gun Creation" can only go so far after all, and even Sayaka's aiming hilts are just modified sword hilts rather than actual guns. However, she can more than make up for it with creative ammo creation for now.

Of course, the higher up you scale her guns and the more special ammo she fires, the more it'll cost her. Then again, her power is passive Damage Reduction so she's really only got her weapon skill to dump magic into.

[x] Go Inside.

You phase through the entrance, and as soon as you do, you hear your feet tapping against a piano key. You look down to see that you're on a giant keyboard, and in the distance you can see a gigantic set of drums. You hear a saxophone and a trumpet, but otherwise, it's just echoing in the chamber.

You already have a bad feeling about this, and then Sukuyo says something. "...I can h-hear brass!"

"Yeah." You nod. "Me, too. Kind of strange."

"It's a solo." Tomo murmurs.

Armor does seem called for.

I imagine Sukuyo can make armour piercing bullets? Minigun + Armour piercing = Bad times for 'ol brassy.
Of course, it'll also chew through grief like nothing else, but hopefully it should at least cripple the witch before she becomes completely useless.

Well, we know from the story post that this whole situation has Akane's hackles up, and frankly the barrier itself is really ominous. I mean, it's no Skadi, but compared to the ones Akane's experienced? It's vast, it's obscured and something's making a godawful racket just around the corner. I don't know about you, but the description of the barrier suggests something large-scale to me.

Witch -> Dangerous -> Put on some protection?

Ah, no. That kind of perspective's what started the whole armour cost shitstorm.

To be honest I don't really see the need to be all that IC on a retry. It's not actually possible to not metagame at that point.

Subtle metagaming yes. Identifying the witch early and trying to start the fight with the initiative is a more subtle approach to metagaming. IMO Blantant things like armoring up for the hell of it, could use some IC justification.

Something less metagamey would be reminding Tomo to accelerate us to get a speed advantage on the witch.

[x] Find the witch.

As you walk through the barrier, the sax gets louder. You all pause to stare at the area...before there's a rumbling noise. The drums in the distance start playing against one another, as suddenly, the witch explodes out of a pile of brass instruments. The world seems to slow down again, and you barely have a split second to react as a gigantic brass fist rushes towards you.

You are already a tough girl...but you aren't invincible. There's a loud CLANG as you're sent tumbling backwards, face hurting, chest in pain and arms sore. You throw your arms out as you're tumbling, with one sliding across the ground as you finally stop yourself. You stumble a little and shake your head, before the witch immediately catches up with you.

[x]Armor up.

You quickly armor yourself up, and as soon as you do you can feel the heavy armor over your body. The ground beneath your feet bends and breaks, as you slam your gauntlets together.

Its index finger slams into your stone-protected chest. It crumples, and you can see the bell exploding into shards on contact. You grin a little, as the witch lets out a screaming sax sound in response.

Yeah, that plan's shot to hell now.
