SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

[X] On the witch's next pass, dodge and fire fist with the intent of wrapping the chain around an extremity. If successful summon full armour.

You let loose a chained fist, but as soon as you do, you're smashed in the face by the palm of the hand. You're dragged backwards with it, and you can feel the pain. You clench your teeth, but you can feel yourself being sucked into the "eye".

It's not an eye at all. It's an air intake. And as you're stuck here, you can feel your head being pulled into it as your fist clenches tightly around a finger. It digs its own fingers in, but the witch doesn't seem to slow down as it tries to rip you apart.

Um. Hey, you guys remember how this is a music witch? That sucking most likely isn't intended as an attack, even if it is effective as one.

We might want to get defensive.
 
Getting defensive doesn't mean abandoning ship. Unless, of course, you mean 'get away from the hand', and not 'get out of the barrier'. Might want to clarify which.

Everyone is still able to fight. I agree, leaving the barrier is premature.
I'd question the statement of "everyone" still being able to fight. Isn't Yoko still scooping up what's left of her intensines back into her torso?

No one's face is falling off, no hearts got burned out. Keep it going. Sayaka can make time in between horrible family despair to make sure the newbies can digest dinner properly.

This is NOT GOOD. If sci-fi movies and TV shows has taught me anything, it's that air intake 'mouths' are filled with either: A) spinning, pointed teeth; B) Flamethrower mouths; or C) absolute vacuums. If C isn't the case for this, we need to channel Little Miss NAPALM and chuck something down that 'mouth'. Preferably, explosives, incendiaries, or both. That's likely the way to cause, in theory, maximum damage with minimum loss. It's a gamble, but we're getting our asses kicked, hard and fast. We need to hurt this witch with something big, or we're gonna be corpses by the time Saya and Koko show up.

tl;dr
Drop a "bomb" down the air intake. Highest chance of maximum damage. We don't do it, we're likely to be dead before our cavalry arrives.

Suction is bad. Could be a vacuum, could be a flamethrower, could be matter annihilation, or maybe it's a windup to some kind of attack where it expels everything it absorbs. Best leave quickly.

ot that bad a turnout for my first bandwagon :D

On further thought, maybe once we've extracted our head, jam an armoured fist into the air intake? The only damage we're suffering is from the pressure differential, so there likely isn't any teeth inside grinding shit up, and it should in theory bugger up the witch's subsequent attacks. Of course, if our gauntlet isn't big enough to fill the hole then this whole idea is moot, but I can dream.

Also, question. Does the three strikes rule only apply if we're in control of Sayaka? 'Cause the dice screwing us over here and losing us four allies unsalvageably would suck balls.

Because the dice can definitely screw you over, how about two strikes? You can die once, but then you can reset. Die again, and you're gone for good. The story will continue without you.

Awesomesauce. Even if it wouldn't end the quest point blank, I'd hate to see the effect losing these four would have on Sayaka :(

Domino effect, most likely. They go and Sayaka goes because of them (probably by getting reckless in a Witch fight), which immediately leads to Kyouko dying or witching, and then Homura finally gives up- this timeline failing after things have been going this well and after she's connected so strongly with Madoka could easily be the final straw for her.

Oh, and then Madoka contracts to try and fix everything, and the world gets eaten by Gretchen.
