The thumb won't stop the rest of the fingers from grabbing us, and it's an obvious weak spot.

I'm gonna have to vote for the, relatively, safer option of thumb. The eye, while a very, very tempting target, has Akane jumping literally into the palm of the witch. I'd totally be down with Sayaka doing that because she's got the defense and healing to make up for any damage she might take, but Akane doesn't.

Personally, I'd perfer to take the safer options if a healer is not avaliable because we actually have to care if MG's lose limbs this time around.

You pull your fist back, and you punch the thumb as hard as you can. You can feel the metal buckling under your fist, before the first knuckle explodes in a burst of red-hot brass. The witch lets out an erratic screech of several different instruments, before it bolts backwards. You casually shake some of the brass off of your fist, before it turns itself sideways and aims both of its bells towards you.

They fire a pair of musical notes towards you, and just as it launches, you dodge them with a single smooth move. You suddenly hear a massive explosion behind you, followed by the screech of a sax...and two screams of pain.

You turn your head to see both Tomo with a gaping hole in her side, and Yoko with a missing stomach.

You can hear Sukuyo besides you, firing a machinegun at its midsection. The bullets bounce harmlessly off of the "eye", as the witch then proceeds to dive and weave around the gunfire.

*sigh* They're just not that good at the "not getting hit" part huh. I guess dodge needs to be a priority next training.
 
The injuries are bad but not crippling. They can still fight. These girls need to learn to push past pain or they're going to be a major liability if we're going to ask them to help fight walpurgis.

Yes, we want them to stop being paralysed by pain, but good intentions don't do much good for the dead.

Don't try to actually rap that like LordK did in the chatroom, unless you want to appreciate the horrors that are writing lyrics without regard for meter.
