SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

I'm liking where Muta's going. While Madoka feels like shit for not helping via contracting, she has been helping in a less obvious capacity over the quest. Providing support and a shoulder to cry on helps in its own way. Not to mention that Sayaka can delegate certain things to Madoka and Hitomi, the evacuation for example, that would otherwise take up too much of her time. Keeping the morale of the MG's up. Keeping them firmly grounded in the human side so they don't do what Kyouko did when she first visited Sayaka at the school.

Homu is another big thing. I'm fairly sure that Sayaka knows just how broken Homu is with all her looping and that Madoka is really the only thing keeping her somewhat human. When, not if, Homura wins this time around she's going to need lots of help/love/support, so that's a possible angle to use.

We've pounded the support role / emotional support role into her over the duration of the quest and it hasn't fucking stuck yet. While there is that whole definition of insanity thing, there's really no other satsifactory option here when seriously dealing with Madoka.

The bottom line is that Madoka helps. She helps a LOT, but she knows she can do MORE and everything in her says she SHOULD. But at the same time she knows that she can't otherwise she'll fuck everything up. Her Martyr Complex is in an infnite loop of Must Help, Can Contract/Must Help, Can't Contract.

I think I'd like to point out to Madoka that this timeline is an anomaly. Sayaka has never lasted this long. Her and Kyouko usually end up killing eachother, something that's unimaginable to this timelines Sayaka. Akane might as well have never existed until now. Madoka and Homura were never a couple. There's the newbies that also never existed. Point is this timeline has it's sadness, but Homura can tell her that it has never gone this well before.

Sayaka can tell Madoka that she helped bring this about and that Walpurgis is just the last big obstacle to a happy ending. And that Sayaka will be trying her damndest to make it happen.

Good points, didn't really think of it that way.

Worth pointing out that that is at least partly Madoka's doing. The big turning point for Sayaka was here:
[x] ...Let Madoka finish that sentence. Poor communication kills. And for all you know, it could be more intel on this Homura character.

...Yeah, it's better that way. You sigh and look at Madoka. "...What were you going to say, anyway?"

"Mami...Mami stopped Homura from doing anything."

You freeze. "...What?"

"Mami thought Homura was going to interfere." Madoka says, softly. "So she locked her up." She gulped. "I...I saw it happen."

"No. Nonono..." You turn around in disbelief. "So you're t-telling me that...?"

"Homura wanted to help, but Mami stopped her." Madoka says.

"I don't believe you." You say. "No, Mami couldn't have screwed up like that. She couldn't-!"

"But she did, Sayaka!" Madoka shouted. "Homura isn't that bad a person! Just listen to me!"
If Madoka hadn't convinced Sayaka to give Homura another chance, we wouldn't have dragged her to the arcade and met Kyoko under good circumstances, and even if we had met Kyoko there we would've been more cynical about meeting another magical girl.

Butchered the ideas above into >WORDSWORDSWORDS

[x]Madoka, without your help, none of this would have been possible. You've helped us all this time, you persuaded us to give Homura a chance when we were too stupid to, and you've helped just by being the same friend you've always been. Without you, we wouldn't have trusted Homura, might not have met Kyouko, and probably wouldn't have met Akane or the others. You don't have to be fighting to be helping and you're not useless. So don't be so hard on yourself, okay?
[x]This'll be the last loop. Homura says things've never gone this well before. We don't need you to contract with Kyubey for us to win. It just isn't worth it, Madoka.
[x]We'll help her tell her parents if she wants. We'll be there with her. We can make sure they all make it out alive, no matter what happens.

This is a monster of a Quest. It's like a parade of Kaiju-sized feelings, all stomping on your little hometown together.

And about procrastination and time, I know I'm late but...

Edit: That pun was entirely unintended and I sorely wish it had been intended.

[X] Talk.

"Madoka..." You frown. "You know, without your help, none of this would have been possible, right?" You lean in. "You've helped-"

"I know." She shakes her head. "I know. I know! B-but it still feels like it's not enough! I-I can do more b-but-!" She holds Homura tighter. "S-she's said this has been the best one. Th-this is the best loop so far! E-everything is so horrible and cruel and i-it's still better than the others." You can hear her starting to sob in Homura's arms.

You stare at Madoka. "...If...if it weren't for you-"

"It doesn't help!" Madoka shouts. "I-I know th-that b-but-!" She sobs into Homura's chest. "I-I just make th-things worse for you and Homura and-!"

Homura doesn't seem to really know what to do right now, so she instead just hugs Madoka. "You aren't making things worse-" Homura starts to say, before she's interrupted by another sob.

"...We're here to help you tell your parents if you want." You say, somewhat defeated. "...No matter what happens."

You hear Madoka's muffled voice among the sobs. "Th-thank y-you." She says, quietly.

[OPTION SELECT]

[] Talk to...
-[] Kyouko.
-[] Homura.
-[] Madoka.

[] Write-in what to say.

[] Wait for Madoka to calm down.

[] Go talk to her parents.

Can someone finish this write-in please. I want to but I'm just too tired right now. Going to bed.

[] Talk to...
-[] Madoka.
--[] "You really are my best friend. It's no wonder Homura fell in love with a heart as big as yours."
--[] "And yes. It is enough. You are being way, way too hard on yourself."

[] Put your hand on Madoka's shoulder, squeezing it lightly. Give a small smile.
[] "I swear, we will all make it through this."

I am not to sure with this addition though, since it feels like, and probably is, a really bad lie.
