SayakaQuest Thread 10: Glory To The Death

[X] Ask her what it is.

"What's wrong?" You ask.

She frowns. "I didn't want to worry you..." She takes a small breath. "It...I..." She looks at you. "...Remember when...when we were talking to Homura and she said that we...were sometimes enemies?"

You pause, before you stroke her cheek. "Hey, you know that's not gonna-"

"I know." She says. "I know...but...at the same time." She curls up in your lap. "Even thinking about me hurting you is...I can't do it." She says.

You pause. "I don't see where this is going."

"It..." She shakes her head. "I-I told you I was just being stupid." She mutters.

[x] Hug

You pull her upright and hug her anyway. "Hey...it's hardly stupid." You smile. "I don't want to hurt you, and you don't wanna hurt me. Seems kinda normal, as far as relationships go."

"It...yeah." She says. "...But I can't stop thinking about it. How could we possibly be enemies?" She says, quietly. "I don't wanna think about that but it pops up from time to time..." She rubs her face into your neck. "...It...damn it."

[OPTION SELECT]

[] Keep hugging her.

[] Keep talking to her.

[] Watch the movie.

[X] "Well, you used to let familiars kill people, right? I used to be pretty self-righteous; maybe you did things like barge in while I was fighting familiars to let them get away so they'd turn into Witches."

I think we should probably avoid bringing up the Familiars thing, actually. Kyouko's already given herself quite a lot of grief over it. Connecting it with this angst Kyouko's having seems like it might just pour more salt on the wound.

Maybe, but it'd give her a concrete example of how our relationship might sour early on, and how we wouldn't have to worry about that now, so that she can stop dwelling on the idea that we might have wound up enemies.

Mostly unrelated to "let's rub salt in the wound by bringing up familiars"...House Miki. :D

Also..."used to be"?

I'd rather avoid write-ins that have Sayaka let go of what's left of her ideals, and that's not touching the rest of the issues with it.

-[o] Those people aren't us. Homura said our coming together was unique, in all the time she spent looping. Maybe all the other Sayakas out there are just really really stupid.
--[o] Not me though, I have a Koko.

Oh. Well, I can [o] my write in then. I kinda figured that write in was an option in most situations even if not specifically one of the options.

To be honest, I'm not too sure myself. Just from general observations in the quest though, conversations like this run on auto-pilot to set up plot points for later. At the beginning of the day, we had no real intention of taking Kyouko on a date (too many important things to keep tabs on), but Kyouko made the request and so we did it. This conversation or whatever is going to happen afterwards is leading somewhere.
