It's near the top of the pile, so maybe? I'll see if I can do it on the side after I launch the quest I'm currently busy worldbuilding for. It should be good fun and a low-stress distraction.
That explains so much. All this time I thought it's almost like we're beaming commands or ideas in the vote into Homu's head. Like Homestuck kinda. Or such.
I've... tried actually, to show this in the past, when you changed up systems - had Homura sit down at the table and think things over and do the math, things like that. But it's not always, I suppose, as clear as it maybe ought to be.
I'm... not sure if this is meant to be an attack on me or an honest quest idea thing, but... that tone hurts a bit, either way, which may or may not have been your intent - I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but still...
...I really need to stop checking SV right as I wake up.

edit: I do think that this site needs more quests where the character is more distinguishable from the votes. It's really difficult to maintain characterization when the viewpoint character can pivot 180 degrees on the whim of the voters, and when done badly it can really hurt my enjoyment of a quest. In this respect, you're doing better than a lot of other writers. I did not mean to attack you and I feel really bad about that. I was seriously proposing it as an actual quest.
It's okay! There's no real harm done, and I'm glad I was (in whatever tiny little way) able to inspire yet more ideas in you, even if they never come to fruition.
I have that same problem myself, so I know what it's like to have too many ideas to ever feasibly carry out.
[1] Monday, March 22, Loop 3: Random's Plan (Version 2)
Start of day:
[] Get up and open a window, before going for a shower.
[] Eat breakfast.
[] Start cleaning the apartment. Scrub floors, counters, cabinets, even the ceiling if need-be. Dispose of trash. Focus mainly on the brewing area.
Mana Recovery:
[] Brew potions to get back up to near full MP.
-[] Equip/prepare all items OF CRAFT (POTIONS) OF IMPROVED EFFECT and set 20 EMPTY BOTTLE within easy reach.
-[] Turn on a fan to make sure the air circulates to get outside the apartment.
-[] Brew 36 POTION OF MANA OF IMPROVED EFFECT, drinking each as soon as it's ready. Summon dragon scales as you go.
--[] Clean work area once done.
Summon Tools:
[] Summon a Fume Hood.
[] Summon a [JAR OF ENDLESS SUGAR].
[] Summon a [DECANTER OF ENDLESS COOKING OIL].
New Potion Setup:
[] Set up the fume hood in your kitchen.
-[] Sustain MAGICAL STRENGTH x3 when needed to position and lift the heavy equipment.
[] Clean your work area and equipment and set up to brew potions.
-[] Place empty bottles on one side of the work area in neat rows.
-[] Equip all CRAFT (POTIONS) equipment and put away non-potionmaking-related items.
-[] Make sure your new [JAR OF ENDLESS SUGAR] and [DECANTER OF ENDLESS COOKING OIL] are within easy reach; when you run out of Sugar and Cooking Oil from your inventory, start using the Jar and Decanter to summon what you need.
-[] From now on, when doing extended potioncrafting sessions at home, do so in the fume hood with this setup unless specified otherwise or in a hurry.
Mana Potion Spree!:
[] Set timer on phone: 3 hours.
[] Spend the next 3 hours brewing POTION OF MANA OF IMPROVED EFFECT under the fume hood.
-[] Summon SILVER DRAGON SCALE 10 at a time.
-[] For every 5 potions made, distill them into a DISTILLED MANA and put it in your inventory.
-[] If MP drops into Corruption, drink a DISTILLED MANA.
[] After the timer goes off, clean your work area and break for lunch. DO NOT put your equipment away yet.
-[] Look out a window and use [IDENTIFY] on a bird to see if it has the [FLY] skill, and [IDENTIFY] it to see the pre-reqs if present. Failing that, pull out your compass and use it to locate another GOTZ and pick it up from there.
-[] Use your compass to check the status and locations of the Nishigawa Happy Fairies. If any show up to be nearby, talking about your friends or Masuko Sachi or you, or planning anything about them, immediately go to vote.
-[] Check in with your friends, assuming they're on lunch break as well. Progress report, small talk, whatever they feel like talking about.
[] Browse websites for local news. Headlines, and whatever catches your eye. Spend no more than an hour on this.
[] Plan to give Mami the 11x DISTILLED MANA you owe her the next time you see her.
Resume Potion Brewing:
[] Set timer on phone: 1 hour.
[] Spend the next hour brewing POTION OF MANA OF IMPROVED EFFECT under the fume hood.
-[] Summon SILVER DRAGON SCALE 10 at a time.
-[] For every 5 potions made, distill them into a DISTILLED MANA and put it in your inventory.
-[] If MP drops into Corruption, drink a DISTILLED MANA.
[] After the timer goes off, drink DISTILLED MANA and POTION OF MANA OF IMPROVED EFFECT to bring your MP close to full (but do NOT drink more than your MP in potions (don't waste Potions)).
[] IDENTIFY the contents of the punch bowl.
-[] If it's equivalent to POTION OF MANA, distill as much as you can without incurring additonal MP cost.
-[] If it's not, pause here and hold further experiments or practice in abeyance.
[] Summon 12 SILVER DRAGON SCALE and test how you can make BLESSED POTION OF MANA
-[] Try to spend 1 minute and 5 MP making a BLESSED POTION OF MANA OF IMPROVED EFFECT
-[] If that fails, try to spend 2 minutes making a BLESSED POTION OF MANA OF IMPROVED EFFECT.
-[] If either worked, use the leftover scales to create BLESSED POTION OF MANA OF IMPROVED EFFECT. Otherwise, use them to craft POTION OF MANA; keep track of which ones are BLESSED and which have a critical effect. Distill them together in batches of 4, ensuring at least one IMPROVED EFFECT potion is present in each distillation batch. Put leftover potions in the Inventory.
--[] Nickname any potion that has an MP EFFICIENCY reduction of 4 MP "PUELLA'S EFFICIENCY".
[] Summon a POTION OF FULL HEALING and put it in a recipe slot.
[] Write "Zorkmids Shop" on your Blank Scroll. If it succeeds, record the MP cost in the DIARY.
[] Write "Zorkmid Shop Menu". If it succeeds, record the MP cost in the DIARY.
[] Write "Ritual to access the Zorkmids Shop". If it succeeds, record the MP cost in the DIARY.
[] Write "Item to access the Zorkmids Shop". If it succeeds, record the MP cost in the DIARY.
[] Summon various types of dragon scale and attempt to substitute them into the POTION OF MANA recipe. IDENTIFY the scale and any successful potions, and make note of the MP costs to summon if they differ from SILVER DRAGON SCALE.
-[] GOLD DRAGON SCALE
-[] YELLOW DRAGON SCALE
-[] GRAY DRAGON SCALE
-[] BLUE DRAGON SCALE
-[] BLACK DRAGON SCALE
-[] GREEN DRAGON SCALE
[] Try to summon a full MP restoration potion, and IDENTIFY it (either the item or its popup). If it succeeds and doesn't dip into Corruption, put it in a potion slot to get the recipe; otherwise record the summoning cost.
[] Summon a SILVER DRAGON SCALE GAUNTLET if the cost is <60 MP and harvest scales from it. Summon the reagents for a RITUAL OF MAGICAL MENDING and attempt to cast it on the damaged gauntlet.
[] Attempt to summon a magnet that attracts 'black things'. Attempt to use it on your soul gem's Grief if successful.
[] Summon a [BUG ZAPPER OF INSECT ATTRACTION] and plug it in near the kitchen, if feasible (if it isn't, note the cost and make plans to summon it later).
[] Summon a passively magical fan to purify the air and plug it in near the kitchen, if feasible (if it isn't, note the cost and make plans to summon it later).
[] Summon a [GOURD OF ENDLESS SAKE], if feasible (if it isn't, note the cost and make plans to summon it later). If you're carrying around a bottle of Sake for whatever reason, might as well have an infinite supply of it. You'll probably find someuse for it eventually, even if you currently have no idea what that might be right now (and you certainly have no plans to drink it yourself).
[] Summon a [BOTTLE OF ENDLESS SPORTS DRINK], if feasible (if it isn't, note the cost and make plans to summon it later). You tend to go through a lot of this, so you might as well try to have an infinite supply of it.
[] Summon a [DECANTER OF ENDLESS WATER], if feasible. Might as well have the basics.
[] Summon a simple vapor condenser. It will probably be useful in future potion brewing.
[] Summon a [MITAKIHARA MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL'S UNIFORM OF STEALTH]. You'll be going to school in the next couple days, and it would not do well for you to attract attention for whatever reason, let alone not having any uniform. You're a potionmistress, not a fighter!
[] Try to summon a potion that restores a weak heart to perfect condition, and try to summon another potion that restores weak eyes to perfect condition. Make sure that you identify the potions so that you know exactly what they are before you consider drinking them.
[] Summon a book on gun care. One of your weapons is jammed, and it may be a good idea to fix it before you go hunting for familiars.
[] Clean your workplace, putting away all tools and equipment into your inventory.
[] Drink necessary mana potions to make sure your MP is high and your corruption is empty.
[] Summon a stack of Japanese Yen. Best have it on hand before you head out, since you don't want to have to summon it in public.
[] Go to the grocery store. Buy the following:
-[] 10 Instances of Strawberries.
-[] 10 Instances of Blueberries.
-[] 10 Instances of Bananas.
-[] 10 Instances of Apples.
-[] 9 Instances of Pears.
--[] You're planning on making a few fruit salads, if anyone asks. In reality, you're planning on experimenting with the fruits in potions in the future.
-[] A big bag of sugar (hopefully containing a lot of units of sugar, perhaps 50?).
--[] If someone asks, you tried baking cookies, but wasted too much surgar trying to get the recipie right; you're planning on trying simple next time. In reality, this saves you some mana in negating the need to summon sugar for a bit.
-[] A couple bottles of cooking oil (hopefully containing a lot of units of cooking oil, perhaps 50?).
--[] If someone asks, you accidentally spilled your last bottle yesterday, and need to replace it. In reality, this also saves you some mana in negating the need to summon oil for a bit.
-[] 20 empty plastic bottles.
--[] If someone asks, refuge in audacity: as a potionmistress-in-training, you can never have enough empty bottles, and plastic is much more sturdy (less likely to break in stressful situations) than glass.
---[] If someone requests a potion for some reason (whether in jest or serious), listen to their request and see if you can get a quest to get them that potion.
-[] Whatever food catches your eye, since you've got to eat as well.
[] Go home with your purchases.
[] Put away food in fridge that you are planning to eat in coming days. If there's nothing to eat in the house, someone's going to shoot you some odd looks.
[] Head to the park, offering to meet Mami there with the promised potions if she is free.
[] In an isolated corner of the park, perform Rituals of Mending on [BURNING ASSAULT RIFLE OF INFINITE AMMO], [MAGICAL PISTOL], and [MAGICAL SCISSORS]. Take care of your equipment, and it will take care of you.
[] If Mami arrives, give her the potions you owe her, and inquire about a safe space in the city for you to work on potions away from home.
[3] Go through normal morning routine. Open up a couple of windows to let the apartment air out.
[3] While eating breakfast, use your [SMARTPHONE OF TELEPATHY] to check what the weather was in Mitakihara since the 16th, writing the results in your [DIARY]. Last night came frightfully close to causing another reset, and you keep forgetting what the weather was like on a given day. While you hope you won't need it, you should still plan for the worst.
[3] The apartment still is a bit of a mess. Set an alarm for 9:55 AM, and clean it up until your alarm goes off.
[3] Check to see the price and effectiveness of a [POTION OF FULL MANA]. If it would somehow allow recovery of more magic than was expended to summon it, and the cost to summon wouldn't deplete your magic, then end the vote here.
[3] Afterwards, summon a pair of simple box-fans that would fit snugly in the two windows best placed to air out the kitchen, with one facing to draw air into the apartment and another facing to draw air out of the apartment.
[3] Once that's done, bring out your potion brewing gear. Look to summon a [JAR OF INFINITE SUGAR] and a [BOTTLE OF INFINITE COOKING OIL]. If they're too expensive to safely summon with your current Corruption levels, then brew enough potions to offset that, then summon them.
[3] Set an alarm for half an hour before school lets out, then begin brewing.
[3] A brewing cycle is defined as brewing eight [POTION OF MANA] without auto-success or auto-critical, so that they will be [BLESSED POTION OF MANA], [DISTILLING] them into a single potion that's then consumed, to gain [MP EFFICIENCY x8]. Following that, brew [POTION OF MANA] spending 1 MP to ensure an automatic critical success, drinking the produced potions as-needed to keep Corruption at zero. [DISTILLING] every five potions into a [DISTILLED MAGIC]. After the [MP EFFICIENCY] expires, take a couple minutes to stretch out, get some water, go to the bathroom, whatever.
[3] Each brewing cycle is thus approximately 70 minutes. Therefore, we ought to have time for three complete brewing cycles, with each cycle producing at least 90 [POTION OF MANA OF IMPROVED EFFECT], though not more than 120. 35% of the potions brewed will need to be consumed in order to pay for the summoning costs involved, with a total productivity of between 174 to 234 [POTION OF MANA OF IMPROVED EFFECT] for the total brewing period. Of these, 50 are earmarked for Mami, while another ~28 are earmarked for immediate consumption to bring Homura's MP up to approaching maximum.
[3] For the potions intended for Mami, [DISTILL] them again into [TWICE-DISTILLED MAGIC], so that she would only have to drink two potions. Look to summon 2x [BOTTLE OF FLAVORING], to alter the flavor of the contents, for them to be stored in.
[3] Clean up the kitchen and put your potioneering gear away. Spend any remaining time between finishing that and needing to leave to meet up with the others practicing your [EXUDE MANA].
[3] When it's time to go meet up with the others, turn off the fans, put them on the floor, and close the windows, then leave to go meet up with the others.
[1] Check for the possibility of shopping online to buy sugar/oil/bottles/etc in bulk.
[1] Summon a [BUG ZAPPER OF INSECT ATTRACTION] and plug it in near the kitchen, if feasible (if it isn't, note the cost and make plans to summon it later). Also (if feasible) summon a [ROACH TRAP OF INSECT ATTRACTION] and place it under the sink.
-[1] Look out a window and use [IDENTIFY] on a bird to see if it has the [FLY] skill, and [IDENTIFY] it to see the pre-reqs if present. Failing that, pull out your compass and use it to locate another GOTZ and pick it up from there. @Random Tale, @Godwinson, @boonerunner, @ArcadianPhoenix
It's mid-way through your morning [GYUDON] with a side of [MULTIVITAMIN] that you look out the windows. You opened them earlier, and you think the air in the apartment is showing distinct signs of improvement, but still... You frown. It looks sunny enough now, but there's no telling if it'll rain later and flood the apartment or worse. At least it's sunny, now, and has been for... for however long it's been, since you last saw rain. [1] All the same, it seems... important enough to record? Just in case, though if WALPURGISNACHT is the only storm cell to strike Mitakihara in all of April...?

You frown at the diary entry. It doesn't seem very useful right now that you're looking at it. On the other hand, you don't want to waste your efforts by deleting the entry, so you decide to leave it be. Besides, you have other things on your mind. Things to do, things to -
You look at the bowl in front of you.
Right. Cleaning.
You sigh.
You have to do it, though, don't you, or Mami will talk about it the next time she comes. Or Madoka will - no, Madoka won't. You're sure she won't mind, but that's not the same thing as her enjoying it.
You look around the apartment hopefully. It's only a very small apartment, isn't it? How long could it even take? It's just a kitchen and a couple of bedrooms and a living room and - well, the point is that it's a very small apartment.
An hour should be enough, you decide. You decide to be generous to yourself and set the alarm for five minutes shy of 10:00 AM.
---
The alarm goes off. It's 9:55 AM and the noise of the alarm is, if anything, even more annoying now than it was when it woke you up at 8:00 AM. You tell the [SMARTPHONE OF TELEPATHY] to shut up again, and it does, but you look ahead of you and sigh. You've only just finished the bathroom and the kitchen - which you chose because they were the smallest rooms in the apartment that you used often - but you had not realised how many cabinets there were, and how many things were in the cabinets. You would have ignored them, and you'd been tempted to, except that there was a dead cockroach in one of them.
It was, you think, probably not the cockroach that surprised you in your apartment. You don't know whether you'd prefer it to have been the same one.
Having to go away and find some toilet paper to wrap the little carcass in to dispose of it was bad enough, but then you found a little brown thing beside it.
EMPTY OOTHECA said:
Description: A small brown case. It used to contain cockroach eggs, but is empty now.
And that was what had made you start emptying out the cabinets to clean everything inside, and then clean the cabinets too, and between that and rapidly going through the cotton rags you had and having to then wash those -
But at least the kitchen is clean. You think. You hope. One cockroach in one cabinet is bad enough (and there are many more cabinets in the rest of the apartment).
Your impulse is to keep cleaning, to keep on at it until you can be sure that the whole apartment is free of anything that crawls, flies, or squirms. But you set your alarm at 10:00 AM for a reason, and that is that you are running very low on MP and you have a debt to Mami besides that you must repay.
It seems a constant issue, your being low on MP, you think with dissatisfaction. Having to dirty up the kitchen again immediately after cleaning it irks you, but there isn't any other place to do it. You spend hours and hours a day brewing, and yet whenever it comes to a Witch battle you find yourself using up all your potions and running into debt besides. Of course one aspect of that is your own weakness. You can admit that much. Mami and Madoka can kill Familiars or Witches in one attack, or two; you have to almost empty a magazine from your [ASSAULT RIFLE OF INFINITE AMMO], and that is if the rifle doesn't jam, kick back, or - well, one of a hundred different things, you feel that you could write a book about the general unreliability of firearms. But you can't grow in power without practice, and you can't practice without power, and...
You sit at the table, looking out the window.
The sun is still shining outside; it'll be no trouble at all for you, you think, to run out and buy up some more sugar and oil, though you'll probably need to go to the departmental store so that the grocers won't wonder why you visit them every day to buy their entire stock, and then by the time you get back from that it'll be late, and you'll have almost no time left to do any brewing at all before you have to hurry out - and you slump back down unhappily at the thought. It looks like you'll have to resort after all to ordering online, but even that will be a delay of a day, at least. It sours your mood even worse than discovering that your apartment - Aunt Gina's apartment - might be a cockroach breeding-ground. You should have thought of it earlier, planned it better. You could have done the brewing first and the cleaning later, even, because now all you have on you is ninety-odd of each and that… Well.
Ninety-odd [POTION OF MANA OF IMPROVED EFFECT] isn't so bad, you suppose. Though it would be…
More convenient.
Wouldn't it? You think.
Yes, wouldn't it?
If you could summon all the mana you needed at a go, or if you could summon all the oil and sugar you could need.
You don't know why you didn't think of it before. You've summoned wands and guns that never run out of charges, so…
You transform and roll out the [BLANK SCROLL]. POTION OF FULL MANA, you write, and the words vanish from the scroll without it offering you anything in return. Okay. One disappointment gotten over with. You write again. A jar of infinite sugar, a bottle of infinite cooking oil.
They appear. A small ceramic jar and a bottle, gleaming full of oil.
You [IDENTIFY] them both, to be sure.
Yes, that's good enough for you, you think. It'll save you time, and time is mana.
There's a thought, you think. Time is mana. Rather literally, too, with the way you need to spend time on your brewing to gain that additional 10 MP per potion, unless you spend MP, which has never seemed… well, profitable. You've always tried to only spend the 4 MP before, to summon the [SILVER DRAGON SCALES], but if you're going to be spending an additional 2 MP a potion to summon the oil and sugar, anyway, you might as well spend the… additional 5 MP, you think, instead of the extra 30 seconds? You screw up your face in thought, and head to the living room to sit down and grab some paper.
No, it's not feasible, or at least not very profitable (and there's that word again, you think ruefully), if you end up spending 11 MP to brew every potion that gives you 20 MP - while the 9 MP is a good amount, it's nowhere near your usual net gain of 16 MP a potion, unless… Something stirs in the back, the far away back of your mind. Unless you don't need to spend 11 MP, which you've been trying to do all this time by buying your materials and using the extra time, but. But there's another way, isn't there? One from… from a long time ago, it feels like, but you remember it. [MP EFFICIENCY] - you even have the recipe for its potion. But that's not how you achieved it, the first time.
You take a deep breath. That… that… would it work?
It can't hurt to try, can it?
No, it can't hurt. You'll try it.
But first you decide to further improve the air circulation in the kitchen.
---
It's a little past two when you stagger from the kitchen to fall onto the sofa. Even if you take five minutes off every hour, you've still been standing nearly still for over three hours now and between the pounding and crushing and stirring and brewing - well. You wipe the sweat from your brow and lay there, staring at the ceiling.
Little past two, and you have… something like thirty [DISTILLED MAGIC]. Forty, really, which isn't so bad for three hours' work of huddling over the stove, but ten of those are Mami's. You smile a tired little smile; at least you'll be able to repay that debt, a little bit. Maybe you should give her a little more, to thank her. Maybe later. You've got thirty of those potions for yourself, after all, so if she needs any more -
Ah! You realise, sitting up with a jerk. You'd been thinking so much of brewing the potions for her that you'd almost forgotten the other part of it. You'd promised to try to improve the flavour from its previous pepper-and-raisins, for Mami. You still don't know yourself what makes the potions taste different to everybody who drinks them, but… maybe there's a way to make them all taste better? Or to, at least, not taste of anything at all?
You take yourself back to the kitchen, ignoring for the moment the tools and utensils piled up on the counter waiting to be cleaned, and lay your hands on the [BLANK SCROLL]. Bottle of flavouring, you write, wondering what flavour Mami would like best as you do - cheese? Spaghetti? Something more Italian? - but eventually you settle on water and so you add that, water, to the writing on the scroll.
A confirmation window comes up and you accept the cost, and a small bottle falls out of the air to land in your hand.
Yeah. Water, you think. Mami can't complain about potions that taste like water, right? You retrieve the ten potions for Mami and are just about to start reflavouring them all, when you stop.
Ten potions for Mami - well, it's not as if she hasn't drunk potions in large quantities before, and you wince at the memory of her crying in her bed - but it's still a lot of potions, and it doesn't have to be that many potions when you can make them just one, or two. So that's what you do, and soon you have two bottles of potion for Mami to drink.
And when all that is done you finally begin the washing-up of the cauldron and stirrer and all the other things, and this time you take extra care with them, and if you end up using a little more soap than usual, well - it's worth it, you think, for the peace of mind. You watch the last of the filmy potion-residue drain away down the sink from them, a rainbow-like scum mixed with the dish soap and the water, and you wipe them dry before returning them to your [INVENTORY]. Then you take down the fans, as well, and sniff the air.
It doesn't smell of potions, and - you stick your head out the window to be sure - there doesn't seem to be any persistent blue haze lingering outside your window, either.
You smile a little smile.
It's a good day, after all.
---
The exuded mana, you think, is actually kind of cute, in the way it sits on the floor and wobbles uncertainly in response to your pushing it this way and that - mentally, of course, as whenever you try to physically push, it is simply reabsorbed into you without any pressure or sensation at all. A moment it's there, the next it's dwindling away into nothing and your finger is pressed to the floor, or table, or wherever you happen to have exuded it.
The alarm clock goes off.
You silence it with a smile.
It's time to go and see Madoka!
===
[1] I literally have not yet written a single scene of rainy weather in PLHM. I don't even know what Homura is worrying about! XD
[ ] Resolve the cockroach issue.

[X] Call Madoka and Mami, then go find them.
-[X] While on the way, use [IDENTIFY] on a bird to see if it has the [FLY] skill, and [IDENTIFY] it to see the pre-reqs if present. Failing that, pull out your compass and use it to locate another GOTZ and pick it up from there.
-[X] Continue practicing [EXUDE MANA] with the opaque bottle along the way.
[X] Invite Mami and Madoka and Sayaka to the party.
[X] Give 2x[TWICE-DISTILLED MAGIC] to Mami. Tell her that these should taste like water.
[X] Post fight analysis. Discuss with Mami and Madoka what we did right and wrong and how to prevent danger in the future.
Hasn't the Exude Mana with the opaque bottle while traveling caused issues before with the multitasking?
I'm all for practicing it, especially now that we finally have it at Basic and can control how much is exuded, but not if it interferes with other activities like 'walking'.
@pantherasapiens
I'm curious as to what constitutes a "successful use" of [EXUDE MANA], for gaining skill experience points.
Likewise, [CLEANING] is a bit odd. Skills like [BREATHING], it's clear that it gains a point every time that exercise lasted long enough for the skill to come into effect, but [CLEANING] seems completely detached from everything else. Is it just the time spent cleaning? It's clearly not per object cleaned.
[X] Call Madoka, Mami, and Sayaka to arrange to meet up, then go to the agreed meeting point.
-[X] While on the way, use [IDENTIFY] on a bird to see if it has the [FLY] skill, and [IDENTIFY] it to see the pre-reqs if present. Failing that, pull out your compass and use it to locate another GOTZ and pick it up from there.
--[X] Likewise, use your compass to locate Madoka, and [IDENTIFY] her [SWIM] skill.
-[X] Continue practicing [EXUDE MANA] with the opaque bottle along the way, unless doing so would distract you to an unsafe extent.
[X] On meeting with the others, ask Madoka and Mami if the sleeping potions worked.
[X] Invite the others to the party, when appropriate.
[X] Give 2x[TWICE-DISTILLED MAGIC] to Mami. Tell her that these should taste like water.
[X] If the others are up for it, perform a post fight analysis. Discuss with the others what we did right and wrong and how to prevent danger in the future.
-[X] One of the things we did wrong was to not have Sayaka there with us. Mami is strong and capable, but she can't be everywhere in a fight. Besides, we're magical girls, we should work together. Sure, most of the time magical girls compete over grief seeds, but your magic lets us break that system rule.
[X] If anything unexpected occurs, do not continue with vote actions past there. Examples being: no-one is able to meet up due to other things scheduled, someone is in trouble and needs help, something happens while en route.
Hmm, I hadn't realized it before now, but the [THROW+] skill from Hide Itoh, of the Nishigawa Happy Fairies, wasn't in the mass [IDENTIFY] list, when Homura looked to figure out all their skills.
Humans and anything really will fly when lift exceeds weight -- whether they want to or not.
There are several known situations where this will occur, ranging from safe and controlled (like in an airplane) to deathly peril and uncontrolled (caught in hurricane force winds)!
One of the ways I would entertain myself as a child was to place a broom in a spot where there was a continuous strong updraft and watch it float.

@pantherasapiens
I'm almost positive I've addressed it before, but yes. [CLEANING], [BREATHING], and many other skills that give flat bonii rather than "+X to rolls" tend to be the kind where experience is gained over time. [EXUDE MANA] is somewhere in between (slower than "+1 per use", faster than "+1 per time period elapsed").

Ah, drat. Well - there's always a next time to do it, or you could simply learn it yourself. Just from the name alone, you can probably figure that it boosts the things she throws in a way that isn't a simple "+X to attack".

Does "the others" include Sayaka, or do you mean only Madoka and Mami?

Okay, since we've had it iterate several times, how does it gain experience?
"The others" includes Sayaka if she's there, and means that Homura would look to have everyone bring her up to speed on what happened. Sayaka is Madoka's friend, and we want to make sure Madoka is happy, so we ought to include her friend in things.
Considering that we'd specifically looked to [IDENTIFY] all the skills they had that we'd not encountered? It shouldn't require going back over it again, since Homura checked it, just because we didn't get to see it.
Right now it's at a +1 per three uses. (It's probably slightly overlooked, since it's not explicit in the description, but you also should note that it's been consistently written that Homura takes significantly more than one second each to exude and to re-absorb MP. I'll probably revise the descriptions later to be more infodumpy/ descriptive, since it does look like in-text descriptions of some things aren't paid attention to.)

During the fight analysis, Homura could also think about how to fight more MP-efficiently, which should easily lead to thinking about weaponized potions. The sleep potion is a good example. Even as fumes, it causes the target to sleep. Homura could probably deliver all kinds of debilitating effects with her potions that set up a witch for a safe kill. Poison for her and her allies' weapons should be an efficient force multiplier.

I'm almost positive that it won't be nearly as helpful as you'd imagine. Really, the best avenue for Homura is to aim to get [MAGIC BEAM] as soon as she can, and to rely on guns until then.

That's just damage, though? The idea behind debilitating effects is making the witch less dangerous so that everyone doesn't get hurt so much. I mean, if the idea is just pouring as much magical damage into the witch as possible, then something like a [WAND OF DISINTEGRATION] would probably do the trick.
Scene: Abandoned, falling apart stone building, zoming in.
Voiceover: It is that time of year again.
Camera jumps to a concrete block on the building. A single cockroach walks into view.
*FWIP* *BUZZ* *SNAP*
Cockroach leaps out of frame, spreading wings, as a purple fly-swatter smacks against the concrete block.
Voiceover: It is that time when certain creatures bearing diseases and able to edge out the local wildlife start appearing in great numbers.
Scene: Night in Mitakihara, the camera looking over an apartment complex.
Enter Japanese Salaryman, with tired expression on his face.
Salaryman walks to the door of a dark apartment, and takes out a key. He unlocks the door, entering the apartment and closing the door behind him.
The apartment's window lights up.
Salaryman (like a little girl): YEEEEEEEEEEEEH!
Scene: Japanese Salaryman on ceiling, curled up and holding onto a ceiling lamp, looking down at floor.
Scene: A couple dozen cockroaches darting to and fro on the floor of an otherwise prestine apartment.
Voiceover: Darting just out of the corner of your eye, they can fit and hide in any crevice.
Scene: A cockroach squeezes out of a crack in concrete, center.
Voiceover: They can reach any crevice.
Camera zooms out to see the concrete is several floors up in the outside of a building. The cockroach flies out of sight while two more fly up and squeeze into the crack.
Scene: Homura standing outside her apartment complex, phone in hand, as a man unrolls a yellow DO NOT ENTER tape to block off access to the apartment. There are a few dozen cockroaches visable on the building from this position.
Voiceover: They threaten to push us out of our homes.
Homura (into phone): Mami, could I stay at your place for a few days? My apartment has been condemned because of a cockroach infestation.
Scene: Mitakihara Middle School, blocked off in front of a crowd of students by yellow tape. A swarm of cockroaches is spotted on one of the windows.
Sayaka: And that's just one of ten swarms in the school?!
Voiceover: They'll push our children from out schools...
Scene: Woman in a buisness suit with green hair shakes in fear as she looks blankly forward, curled up on a bench. There is a buzzing in the air.
Voiceover: ...and ourselves from our jobs.
Woman: So many... so many...
Scene: From behind the bench and the green-haired woman, looking on an office building. The entire side of the building is covered in cockroaches, and many more are flying about the building.
Scene: Cockroach on a rusty car in a junkyard.
*BANG*
Cockroach disappears from view.
Voiceover: They are capable of surviving almost anything that is thrown at them.
Homura glares directly at camera, with Sayaka and Mami standing next to her. Mami is holding a clipboard, and Homura is lowering a gun.
Sayaka: Did you get it?
Homura: I hit it.
Mami: It's still alive. (Shakes head and makes a note on the clipboard.) That's twenty-three survivals and... no deaths. Trial twenty-four is... nalpalm? You have that?
Scene: Newscaster speaking on a news channel. An image of a cockroach is next to them.
Newscaster: Residents are advised to evacuate Mitakihara due to the cockroach invasion that seems to be plauging the entire city...
Voiceover: It's cockroach season.
Scene: Walpurgisnacht crashes into the ground, choking as thousands of cockroaches crawl in and out of its mouth. The witch is covered from top to bottom with cockroaches, like all the buildings that surround it.
Voiceover: When you have an infestation this bad, call in the experts.
Scene: White screen with a cartoonish purple octopus holding a cockroach, rat, ant, and termite in four different arms. A name in katakana appears beneath the octopus, followed by a phone number.
Voiceover: Mitakihara Pest Control. Reasonable rates, for when you want those destructive pests gone.

I'm almost positive that there's a resistance roll of some sort for that, which a witch, with their ridiculous statlines, would easily ignore. Furthermore, even if they were affected, the level of penalty that can be achieved is likely to be very minimal.
