Magical Girls School (Organization Quest)

Wow, I've never heard of a "management" quest before. Cool!

I'm not familiar enough with the mechanics to be comfortable voting yet, but I have a couple of criticisms for @Whiteeyes. First:
Willow was technically a boy, or at least was born that way, but she has always identified as female and her parents support her.
This passage makes it clear that Willow is a trans female, not a male crossdresser*. You should change your sig and Willow's character sheet to reflect this (I suggest "...and if anyone finds out one of your students is transgender, you'll face..." and "Secret: is transgender - This secret..." respectively).

Second, holy typos Batman. Does your browser even have a spell-checker?

*I'm hesitant to speak for a group I'm not a part of, but I'm nearly certain I've gotten this right. If not, someone please correct me.

It's a ways off, but how are different years going to be handled? Are people going to be learning by subject as opposed to things appropriate for they year? Does quality determine how likely a person is to pass a class or how good they can potentially be at the end of said class?

Also, how are we handling different years? Depending on courses do we have some give prerequisite classes? Is there just a 'year 2' version of it?

I'm dyslexic and my spell check sucks.

You know what, you're. Right about my signature. However, Secret: transgender is more appropriate for post-transition. Right now the main issue is that she is a girl with boy parts.

Like college to a degree, students sign up for the classes they are interested in. Quality does affect their chances to master a class they pass.

Year 2 version, or more accurately a 102 version you can attend after you pass the 101, and so on. A student can take a subject multiple times if they wish, and as such can gain multiple masteries in the subject. Students, like in college, learn by semester. They will be attending for six years, so each will take 12 semesters worth of courses.

For the purpose of gaining traits, they need masteries in three different subjects.

Secret: transgender is more appropriate for post-transition.
A person is still transgender if they haven't actually transitioned yet. Perhaps go with "Secret: is transgender (pre-op)"?
Also note: I just realized that "transgendered" is not a preferred term. I have edited my previous post to reflect this.

Edit: not to nitpick, but I think a lot of people won't know what you're talking about if your sig just says, "is transitioning."

...We're going to have a lot of failing students this semester aren't we? Ugh, oh well maybe the early courses will be much easier. We definitely need to start every basic project that raises quality we can this year.

Ahh bluefur87

Remember the secret college policy that all colleges/uni's have? If 90% of the class fails it's not the proffesors fault its the students for not studying/looking for other places to learn. :)

I thought it was because our school was a serious school that made their courses actually challenging, unlike those schools that let you get by with barely any skill.

Personally I think "is male" is fine, since that is currently accurate when referring to her biological sex, which is what people will be in arms over, rather than her gender, which they wouldn't care about.

So I know this might be asking for a bit but can we please have a Gender tag on our students/staff? The *ahem* exception can stay but the rest really should have a gender tag because otherwise we have to look for keywords like he/she. I think that putting saide info will save having to fit those gender identifiers into your traits.

Or if your into making androgynous characters then that's fine too.

....you are a magical GIRL'S school. Do I have to spell out what gender your students are?

Uh...no. The people who would have a problem with Willow are the people who deny that sex and gender are different things. My understanding is that a person with sex A and gender B will usually be offended by being referred to as simply "being A" without the speaker specifying that they're only talking about sex, precisely because it reinforces the notion that there isn't a difference.

Oops forgot were a headmistress for a girls school. My bad bros.

EDIT: Also can't wait for our fencing team to be put together. We have four very solid first years.

That's incredibly touchy. All the people I know in the applicable category don't see things that way...but it's not the most important thing in the world. Language is vague and we fill in the gaps. Evidently we fill in the gaps a bit differently. "Sexually Male" is a pair of words that describe the situation a bit more specifically than "Is Male," if you really want precision.

I think Hamlet from Shakespeare explains it best.

"Words words words nothing but words!" is the model of language. Words are in fact surprisingly flexible and are not concrete which some theorize is the reason things like Mathematics came into existence. "Get the Keys" can mean a few things in my job from 'get the security keys for the computer', 'get my id to open that door', or 'get the normal keys to open the cabinet'.

Math though hard as hell to understand in pre-cal is VERY concrete. 2+2 = 4. No room for debate unless your arithmetic is bad. Sorry for the rant but language and words have been my downfall in many times of my life. So yeah sexually..w.e it is because she's going to be full on female at some point so good for her.

Actually, I think most of the people who'll have a problem with Willow are the ones who already have a problem with out school and who then use her as an excuse to show how utterly terrible we are.

For all of our diplomatic efforts, we've also made some enemies down the line.

Wait. Are we allowed 3 new classes or 13 new classes but only in 3 subjects?

Omegahugger reigns supreme!

Omegahugger for president!
We're probably going to be all very disagreeing on the next turn though. Lots of money to spend and teachers to befriend and not nearly enough actions to do it.

Are the fine details of transgender terminology relevant to the quest here?

I mean, if it's such a sticking point we could just make it "Has a penis".
