In Fine, Solum Est Tibi (A Quest in Rome, During The Fall of the Republic)

How's the 5th Legion taking our dismissal? we were pretty popular with the rank and file as well as the officers so they can't be that happy with how Sulla treated us.

Lets just say they are a little busy taking on all of Pontus with our horse allies to care too much about it.

But they care, and care alot.

- [X] *Said with mounting rage and determination* "We have talked at length beforehand of the legacy of our forebearers, the strength of their deeds and words, and in that time spent together midst the quiet moments between training, learning of the shared pasts of our ancestors, whatever gave you the impression that I would settle for anything less? Aye, I shall stand alongside you on the path to restore Rome, even should it come to pass that we should stand before all our foes as Horatius Cocles. Mind you, I have no desire to face Bacchus Pluto as of yet and would rather tend to my ancestral fields under the guidance of Mars Pater and continue to build a Roman Library to rival that of Alexandria's, but in the pursuit of rebuilding Rome, how can man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his Gods? Aye Caesar, we stand together on this."
-[X]Stay with the Army: You do not care what your Grandfather says. You are staying. You will fight for the Republic.

[EDIT: Voted for standing with the Army because I both don't want to give Sulla the satisfaction and to reassure the men a little thing like orders wasn't going to stop is from standing beside them.]

If Sulla complains we can remind that our home was burnt for supporting him, and that going back while Marius is king is a death sentence.

There is one thing that Sulla understands more than anything.

Despite always testing you, he believes, wholeheartedly, that you are not able to be his successor. Or even the successor to his friend.

Not yet at least. Mostly because he dose not know how we will do as a subordinate, or in peace.

But he would never ever allow you to leave for Rome and risk you getting captured.

Alright bad news everyone.

Computer problems have destroyed most of my files for this quest and several others.

And yeah I'm not spending months trying to rebuild them.

Am the quest has been cancelled for now at least.

5.1 Roman Heroes
5.1 Roman Heroes:

You wanted to feel the satisfaction of spitting in your grandfather's face, even though he was not by blood or by marriage. But the despicable actions of his words made you feel sick. This was Rome's Savior? How could a man you respected, nay, worshiped as a Venerable Family member… just walk away? To not fix the problems of the Republic?

If so, Rome did not deserve to be saved. Where was the man who came to you when you were a child, virtuous and steadfast in his beliefs in the Republic, in himself and his family, where he knew everything about what he wished

This was the man who could save the republic from Tyranny, madness, and insanity?

Had he lost his way?

Every question entered your mind as you quickly thought for a moment, and all you could do was look to Gaius Julius Caeser. Your Subordinate. Dare you say, your friend… and spoke the words you wanted to say for a very long time.

To a man, you trusted at the very least. "We have talked at length beforehand of the legacy of our forebearers, the strength of their deeds and words, and in that time spent together midst the quiet moments between training, learning of the shared pasts of our ancestors, whatever gave you the impression that I would settle for anything less?"

Caesar took a moment to listen, but he was only listening. He did not wish to stop you, to silence you, or bemoan or degrade you. He may be many things to you at this time, but a poor listener was not one of them. And a man who did not listen to his friend… was a poor friend indeed.

And there was one thing you never consider Caesar… He was not a poor friend, not at this moment. And he probably had a similar outreach and thought.

"Aye, I shall stand alongside you on the path to restore Rome, even should it come to pass that we should stand before all our foes as Horatius Cocles."

At those words, Caesar took aback, and he seemed to have genuine joy in his bright blue eyes, and he stood.

Yet you remained sitting. You had more to say. "Mind you, I have no desire to face Bacchus Pluto as of yet and would rather tend to my ancestral fields under the guidance of Mars Pater and continue to build a Roman Library to rival that of Alexandria's, but in the pursuit of rebuilding Rome, how can man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his Gods? Aye Caesar, we stand together on this."

Then you stood and held out your arm. "Here is to the Road to Rome. To Destiny and Fate."

"May it never break our bonds of Fellowship."

Reward:

Roman Faction Created: The Cesareans

The Cesareans: A Faction formed of the Roman elite by young Roman patricians, Gaius Julius Caesar, and Claudia Nerva, on the night of July 10th, 83 BCE, it was comprised of many promises of the more conservative Nerva and Reformist-minded Caesar. Their primary concern was the survival of the Republic, and its institutions, but also new ideas, from Land reform to Army Reconstitution, reorganization, and many more ideas.

Members:
Claudia Nerva
Gaius Julius Caesar.

Alliance Forged: Gaius Julius Caesar.

Stay with the Army: You do not care what your Grandfather says. You are staying. You will fight for the Republic.

The Army Reaction:

And when you stayed, there was grumbling. Every legionary knew that a woman in the Army was something sacrosanct.

Unholy, and above all Illegal.

But with the broken world…

Even Traditions were broken. And they learned of your deeds in Anatolia.

There was nothing but Roman honor now.

And nothing but a Roman Soldier.

Five Legions Crossed into Italia itself. Men and horses, roman and Barbarian

Sulla is at the Head of a mighty army.

To save Rome from Tyranny.

What do you do?:

(Choose 2)

[]Speak to Sulla: You want to speak to your Grandfather about the fate of Rome, and your place in it. He may not like you being in the Army. But he cannot stop you.

[]Prepare the Vanguard: You are going to don your armor and prepare the vanguard. This will be a final battle. A War that will be won.

[]Speak to Caeser: He has plans for the future, and, it seems, he is fully willing to share them

[]Go Home: You have time to get home. Best see what is left, and what can be saved.

[]Write a Letter to Marius: It is over, perhaps, in the end, he will realize what he had done.
