*Self Begets*

I AM!

What's good comrades this is my first post and I here this is a happening place with some of the old forum Exalted regulars as well as refugees that have been purged.

I know my Boy Sanctaphrax is here and I notice some familiar names, Revlid, Lioness, Omicron and Aleph for one.

So is this just like a general nerd friendly Creative World Building Forum? What's its story?
Welcome to the cesspit, you fool, you fool!

Where we regularly chew over old grudges and answer inane questions inbetween posting all the fanwork.

The circle's Zenith wants them magical mice as a pet but the Sun never sends him one ~

There is a lot of angst since the guy sacrifice tons of hearts for his lord but the Sun never pays attention to his biggest fan.

Hey, Eldagusto!

It's been forever and a day.

So is this just like a general nerd friendly Creative World Building Forum? What's its story?

I don't think it's much of a story. SV had a bunch of Exalted people and nowhere to talk about Exalted, so this thread was created. Over time, it attracted people from across the fandom. And so it became the Exalted fandom's #1 place for system-less homebrew and #2 or #3 place for pointless slapfights.

So that concludes Session 41. I have a growing pile of Spells to learn, some free XP to allocate, and drama/intrigue contiues to brew in Sunlit Sands!
This was, as ever, fun to read.

The whole investigation sequence was hilarious to read.
Interesting to see that the puppetmaster behind these economic moves was an existing House, and not someone else.
One wonders what Inks occasional fuckbuddy, the one feuding with the Iblan matriarch, thinks of that whole deal.

Lotsa spells to learn though, with the recovery of Hinna's lab. And Elemi IS still going to make it a thing to kick you into shape.

Imbuing Sunlight into weapons looks like the sort of thing that might come in useful at El Galabi.
Though speaking of El Galabi, I doubt it's a coincidence that Underworld power dynamics are in flux at the same time someone comes hunting Tatters. Though I still haven't figured out if Tatters is an Abyssal, or some sort of Lunar.

I rather like the bath god. She's cute.

Once again, thanks to you and Aleph for sharing.

Today in "Gift to the West", a solo Abyssal game being run for me by @horngeek, I managed to have my character:

- Rock up offshore of a nordic tribe in a first rate warship and at the end of a mixed crew of ghosts and hardened mortals, since we're going full Age of Sail here.
- Bluntly inform the inhabitants that their lives, land and sacred places (a fire demense useful for producing gunpowder) were all now the property of the Grand Unified Monarchy of Skullstone
- Offer a wager to the mortal Jarl that if she could land a wound on me in a duel her people would be given time to evacuate rather than being outright butchered, with a further stipulation that they could flee even if she lost in exchange for a kiss
- Defeat said Jarl in a crushingly one-sided exchange that finished with an utterly ineffectual decisive attack that my character decided to just outright waive her defense against
- Claim the spoils of victory in the form of a night of passion with the defeated Jarl back aboard ship while Skullstone marines carefully oversaw the forcible eviction of the tribe from their lands. (Consent variable depending on where you draw the line on social charms).

Gift of Welcome Oblivion is a terrible person and I'm having a tremendous amount of fun playing such an unrepentently imperialist villain.

Today we had the second session of Gift to the West! @horngeek and I run weekly sessions alternating with each other, and during this one Gift:

- Tracked down the aforementioned fire demense and murdered its spiritual protector after it wouldn't consent to handing it over to fuel the Skullstone war machine.
- Accidentally fell back on combat reflexes from her living days, freaked out a bit and over-compensated by doubling down on the 'I am an Anathema and should act like it' front.
- Ate the dead god's heart and fed it's remaining corpse to her pack of hungry ghosts, to no mechanical benefit.
- Flirted shamelessly with a fellow deathknight, to the point of interrupting their melancholic seaside brooding with an offer to go fuck instead.
- Devised a plan to ambush a nearby patrol of Realm ships on the basis that they might find out what she's doing on the island and cause trouble but really she just wants to kill some people.
- Got a distinctly less-than-chase 'good luck kiss' out of said fellow deathknight before setting off.
- Isolated one of those patrol ships which was scouting independently and proceeded to butcher the entire crew single-handily over the course of like a minute or two.
- Drained the corpses into the sea in order to draw a bunch of sharks then threw in all the bodies as an offering to Siakal.
- Walked away over the surface of the water, leaving a floating tomb once home to about a hundred or more sailors anchored in her wake for the survivors to find.

Next session, I strongly suspect I'll encounter my first Dragon-Blooded!

I really like the image of someone swinging a building on a stick though, the Solar is so small that all the enemy can see is a giant slab of gold and marble zipping around murdering people.

Just shove a stick in the ground and say Creation is the head of the weapon

But what if you're a Primordial?

Maybe Creation is just project creep on a Primordial-scaled grand goremaul.
"It would look pretty cool to put a spike on each face, and make each one out of a different element."
"No Theion, we can't incorporate your element, could mess up the integrity of the handle, and besides, we're out of faces."
"This thing's annoying to clean, let's make some beings to maintain it."
"The maintenance crew is burning through essence too fast. Better make some prayer batteries."
"The Raksha are just saying they were never there when we hit them with it, implement causality."
"Only one of us can wield it at a time. We need a cosmic Xbox to keep the others happy."

Interesting, and thank you from saving me from a double post.

Anyway, I was talking about this with @Walker of the Yellow Path my ST in a one on one game we were running, and we started spit balling some things about the realm in general for this setting that could really be applied to any Exalted game. Namely we were talking about the deteriorating political situation on the Blessed Isle and the Realm as a whole.

So the way I have this setting set up right now is that it has been seven years since the Empress has vanished. The Civil war among the Dynast's at this point is all but a matter of who fires the first shot. Now Walker pointed out to me that chunks of creation being isekaied in mass to Destiny verse Earth could rather then be the spark that sets the war off instead be a strong enough "outside threat" for the Realm to come together, and put it's collective baggage on the back burner. His argument being that up till this point the modern Realm had never had one before, and that it would be the shock to the system that they needed to survive.

I argued that the realm has other outside threats the biggest being the Bull in the North, who after eating a whole legion, and the better part of a Great House was now consolidating his power in the North East. He(Walker) pointed out that is just about all he's done. I brought up the Confederacy of Rivers. He pointed out that can really be summed up as Lookshy+. Baring the Locust Crusade (Autochthon), or The First and Forsaken Lion getting his act together I don't think in base Exalted you really have a existential threat that could be used to prop up the Realm, and while I could be wrong I think that this has been true for most of the Scarlet Dynasty's existence.

With that thought in mind I drift back to my setting idea, and weather this crisis would provided the momentum need to stop the Realm form tearing itself apart, or this would be the straw that brakes it's back. I know in either scenario there is going to be a refugee crisis. Said crisis would draw the Last City into the affairs of the Realm, and I want to try and build a game around that.

Dose anyone have any thoughts, or suggestion with this in mind? You don't really need much detailed knowledge of Destiny at this junction as right now I trying to work out the who the realm would be reacting to events.

The two things are:

1. Earth is kind of legitimately fucked in Destiny;
2. Everyone in Destiny has like, actual automatic weapons.

Like "shoot someone dead with bullets from all directions" prana is pretty effective and the Cabal/Fallen/Vex are very good at it. Unless you're an Exalt or supernatural being you're fucked and even if you are you're probably still fucked.

So you're going to see a very massive die-off of humanity from environmental fuckery, disease (Exalted peeps aren't going to have our immunities and will be dealing with diseases which have had to adapt against future science and medicine), and angry rhinoceros space marines with jetpacks and heavy ordinance.

So I got Xcom 2 and I have to say, Advent is prime inspiration for an Infernal ruled nation. So you've got a gleaming city, policed and patrolled by Human/Alien Demon Hybrids who have their loyalty enforced through psychic control and genesis engineering, and who wear concealing armor to hide the worst of their mutations. And when they aren't enough to take on X-com's Tiger-Warriors, then they can call in 1st Circle Demons to pick up the slack. You've Mutons Blood-Apes as powerful frontline fighters, some-kind of snake Demon, and what is clearly a Metody in a suit of power armor.

Even the Alien rulers can kinda map to it, if you include Earthscopion's Sublimati.

The mortal population is kept in check via a combination of carrot with infernal magics being bent to solve their ills and the threat of force, and social magics to keep them pliant.

It actually works quite well; clearly its not going to map a 100%, but the rough idea works.
