The problem is EMIYA is a bad idea to summon, which now that the thread is briefly visible on my frontpage despite the sunday flooding of quest activity, has already been thoroughly explained.

Sort of. It's more that she's just genre savvy about time travel plots.

Even if you don't like summoning EMIYA (who honestly isn't a risk if the two teams work mostly separately and Shirou stays with Yuuno), I'd still prefer to put Solomon with Yuuno for better compatibility. Getting good compatibility on Solomon is super important. Making sure Yuuno, a child, has a powerful Servant is also probably important for our reputation. It would destroy our reputation if he ends up dieing.

If you also don't like using another person as a catalyst, there's still the simple dagger and the katana (Sasaki Kojiro?) as catalysts for Kiritsugu to use.

Yeah, I know, but who else would it be.

At the very least, the simple dagger is as much of an unknown as an affinity summon, but has lower chances of blowing up in our faces than a Kiritsugu affinity summon..........although summoning Homura is a fairly likely outcome for that.

Hmm, what types of heroes could be summoned if using someone like Taiga as a catalyst?

The only ones of those names I recognize are the two options I already knew the identities of, Arturia and Ghirahim.

Do any of the other 3 carry around a dagger and if so, what kind of person are they.
 
None of those three do. I think the dagger is from The Hundred Faced Hassan, but that's because that's the only one who would make sense out of all the people in the last Grail War.

Well, for Kiritsugu, Hassan isn't actually a bad pick. He's pretty much the only Master ever who can take full advantage of the strengths of the Assassin class.

As things stand right now:
Kiritsugu will be experimenting with his Summoning Circle.
Kiritsugu's catalyst, if any, is uncertain.
Yuuno's Summoning Circle will be a large experiment, including designs from Mid-Childa.
Yuuno is split between using the Seal of Solomon and going without a Catalyst, though if Kiritsugu uses the Catalyst Yuuno will automatically forgo it.

Votes are NOT closed, especially since there are a couple of ties at the moment. I do not know when I'll actually update, but from the looks of things, I may have to make a few adjustments to the War.
 
So both Masters are at a dead tie on catalyst choice.........great..........

Not sure why my votes got counted separately though.

Maybe. I did that because I was undecided on class (Kiritsugu could actually make really good use of the traits of an Assassin EMIYA).

Why are people so determined to experiment? I'd say the chances of it backfiring are far higher than the chances of summoning Solomon as Ruler. An example of a backfire would be winding up with the derpy Boxer class. Yes, that exists.

Seriously? Now I'm imagining Diarmuid being summoned as Boxer, with two enormous, bright red gloves on that he can't take off and trying not to drop his spears.

So far, Boxer is still a joke class. Only one Servant is known for it, and no stats are known..........And it's only appeared in something reads like a CrackFic........ The Capsule Servant minigame from the PSVita version of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia.

Servant Boxer is Bazzet. In that minigame, you play as a chibi version of either Shirou or Rin and the plot involves things such as parallel universes, fabulous Shinji, humongous mecha, and Counter Guardian TOHSAKA (who made a contract with the World to pay off her debts)....... Apparently the World is SEELE........

Kiritsugu + Solomon seems to me a worse combo than Kiritsugu + EMIYA. Besides, I really want to see how EMIYA deals with this grail war compared to the ones he is used to.

Guys on the whole EMIYA and Shirou thing. A huge bonus for Kiritsugu summoning him is the synergy Shirou gets from being near him. Secondly if anything EMIYA will be a giant red flag to Shirous family basically saying to them their son needs a lot more help then they thought
