Going after Findor would be dumb. We barely fought him off up here, with the element of surprise. Now we're exhausted, he still has room to unleash more power even before his Resureccion (which would, incidentally, heal all his wounds), and we'd be pursuing him into total darkness, one of the specific environments where the high-speed regeneration of our own Resurreccion - one of our best powers, and our only real advantage - simply does not work.

With that in mind, what FLEE option should we vote for?

  • Going to Esmeralda will either kill her, or delay the confrontation by bringing Findor into contact with an Espada present in the infirmary when we arrive, or cause her to flee with us, or some combination thereof. Very unpredictable, but ultimately likely to cement our wavering friendship and put off the Findor conflict for another day while he stalks off to nurse his injured pride.
  • Going to Cirucci's fort would certainly ward off Findor, and might even bring her into the fight, especially if we make out like Findor's motives were less than pure (my ripped clothes...). However, it could also bring her into conflict with Barragan, which Cirucci cannot really afford. We'd basically be escalating the fight and establishing ourselves as Cirucci's underling by throwing ourselves on her mercy.
  • Fleeing into the desert is the safest option by far, because we have dedicated disguise tech for hiding amongst and avoiding gillian. We can go hang out in the Forest of Menos until this all blows over. However, it will give Findor full control of the narrative ("she stole something from Barragan and ran!") and will therefore entail abandoning Aizen's army and incurring the wrath of the Exequias. It may involve meeting up with Ashido Kano, who is basically a mashup of Bear Grylls, Monster Hunter, and that one Japanese soldier who stuck it out in the jungle after World War 2 for decades.
  • The Living World would presumably be further Fullbringer shenanigans? I don't know what that would even lead to. Honorary Xcution member and/or Riruka's Dollhouse guest. Although I guess if we stuck around in Karakura we'd then be subject to the arrival of Yammy and Ulquiorra, followed by Grimmjow's faction. Unclear, overall.

I imagine Findor will use his resurrection if we use ours but his is pretty straight forward, bigger Ceros some armor and he can fire water jets. Considering the kind of arena we'd be fighting in I think we'd have the advantage (Dark place now with a hole shining light into it giving us both light to fight in and darkness to retreat to) and the way ours increases our speed we might be able to take him. Biggest problem I can see is if he can trap us in a water sphere or has enough firepower to flood the place with balas/cero, we might be able to escape from the water sphere because we can become immaterial not sure if it works like that though. Pretty sure Nemo is kinda tired as well right now so we'd have to watch for that.

Can I also point out how very out-of-character it seems for Nemo to go chasing after the opponent who badly outclasses her, instead of fleeing to fight another day?

Literally our only advantage is the fact that he's injured, and Resurrecion heals all your injuries, at which point he will smack us down like a basketball full of offal.

This is incredibly dumb.

I'm going to state this for the record so I can say I told you so. Fighting is a bad idea.
I don't think that anyone disagrees with you. It's just that running away is an even worse idea since we've got nowhere safe to hide and if we leave to the desert then this whole thing is likely to spiral out or control very quickly and we may be forced to leave Las Noches forever.

We literally have a scarf that makes our reiatsu presence feel like a Gillian. We voted for that over all the other delicious options and we're not going to utilize it to go to the forest full of gillians.

You guys are silly as hell.

We got somewhere very safe to hide. The forest of menos, which is full of Gillians??? Also Las Noches sucks and if we really want, we can kidnap Esmerelda to be our maid/medic/waifu.

If he weren't so arrogant, he would have realised we weren't just Gillian class. Guess the scarfs already pulling it's weight

We have literally everywhere to hide. Any one of the fleeing options will either end the fight, let us run from the fight, or give us an extended break before the fight continues.

Findor is not going to continue hunting us - either wounded or in his Resurreccion - in the open of Las Noches. He was fine beating us down in our quarters, he'll be fine murdering us in the dark, but if he has to stagger through Las Noches covered in blood and wounds after killing a paltry numero, it will reflect badly on his king. If he has to release his Resurreccion to kill a total nobody, it'll reflect badly on his king. Neither bode well for him, or are something he's going to be willing to do. He will retreat, lick his wounds, and show back up at Barragan's court like nothing ever happened, and the moment he thinks he can get away with it, he'll come after us again.

The difference is that this time we'll be ready.

Remember, no-one gives a shit about Findor. He's a lackey. The Exequias do not answer to him, no other fraccion answer to him, and the numeros despise him. His only authority stems from his association with Barragan, and he's absolutely not going to ask him for help. He's not a Hollow Cop coming after out ill-gotten gains, he's a neighborhood thug who wandered into an alley waving about his boss's name and got humiliated. He will keep quiet and wait, because it's all he can do.

This is the purpose of the Cirucci and Esmeralda choices. The Barragan choice is similar, but far more aggressive and riskier. That's all.

The desert and the living world are the options which totally change the context of the quest, by contrast.

The "pursue Findor" option is none of these. It ends with the update cutting off, and Esmeralda Quest starting.

"Your only friend, Nemo has been murdered in the depths of the castle by Barragan's imperious fraccion, Findor. You must avenge her, but how? You're just Las Noches' medic."

Anyone wanna grab Esmeralda before we go? I'm fond of her and this is another way of preventing Head Smash by Yammy.

Hey, I know you have a safe life here, with real friends, a roof over your head and food. But how about you forget all that and run away with me, to the Forest of Menos? You know, the place that's filled with Gillians, monsters that are composed of hundreds of base Hollows? Like you? Don't worry, I'll protect you!

Oh, and the only reason I'm running away from Las Noches is because I pissed off a Fraccion. Of the Segunda. But no worries, right? I'm sure if they track us down, they'll only kill me and leave you alone!

Don't forget to pack a toothbrush!

If we go down into that hole, we're either dead or somehow badly maimed, because the stats and resources in play mean there is no way for Nemo to win short of table-flipping narrative bullshit. And even if we did win, we'd be the weeniest little loser to ever kill a prominent fraccion, so best case scenario we've painted a target on our backs and need to flee and hide anyway.

If we flee, it's over. For now. Findor will lick his wounds, return to Barragan as soon as he's presentable, and bide his time for another shot. As far as the Exequias are concerned, this is another scuffle between Numeros, and not worth their time. As far as Findor is concerned, this is a total embarrassment that he cannot allow his king to get wind of.

So if you want to stay alive, and part of the structure of Las Noches, your options are Cirucci or Esmeralda. The latter choice will patch up our friendship and likely keep us safe by giving us another long mission, the former choice will further our senpai-kouhai relationship and likely keep us safe by putting us through harsh training (combat and etiquette) in her nonsensical pillar room. Either way, training arc ahead of dealing with Findor for good.

We barely came out ahead in this exchange while he was at 2/3rds power, without Ressurection. If Nemo tries to finish this fight she's going to lose.

No, the Caja de Negacion are for use on uppity Fraccion or Numeros. Grimmjow uses his on Ulqiorra, but he states that the Espada originally received them to punish subordinates.

Oops...misremembered that part then. Still...we aren't anyone's subordinate and no one cares enough to waste one on us anyways.

Your hands flutter, you shake your head in denial, you point at yourself, obfuscating gestures of panic. You don't know what Findor is talking about, you just took the crown into the sands. You didn't wither or age, and you certainly didn't break it, only a fool would do that...

Wow...Nemo is just horrible at this subterfuge business isn't she?

"Why are you this strong?"

"A moment ago your power was truly that of an Adjucha. But you burned all you had in that one attack, didn't you?"

"...a mere Gillian."

The stupid bastard actually fell for it!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I'm actually inclined to try and finish this fight but several things have to be taken into consideration.

On the one hand Findor is ultimately a coward at heart, fully willing to abandon all of his professed principles when he's spooked, and I think that last exchange spooked him.

Now that Nemo's knocked him down a peg he's going to go at least full power and maybe even Ressureccion, which will heal up all his injuries and reset the fight (heavily in his favor).

If Nemo goes Ressureccion then he definitely will do so in turn. But Nemo NEEDS her Ressureccion to finish this fight. She's injured, winded, and wants every speed/dodge advantage she can get after Findor's goes full power.

Also even if she doesn't Ressureccion Findor might do so ANYWAYS and that'll just surrender initiative to the bastard. Nemo NEEDS that initiative if she's going to have a chance at winning.

On the other had Nemo is very winded. She's having trouble just holding it together. How will she can go FULL POWER and fight is really, really uncertain at this point.

On the gripping hand Nemo has the high ground. For now at least...

On...I'm out of hands...The interior of the tower might not be the best environment to leverage Nemo's IF trick. But she might be able to set up something...if she keeps her cool (unlikely though that may be)
