The Lonely Lioness - Cersei Lannister Quest

Tywin isn't so much trying to take over the Riverlands as he is succeeding. There's just not a single force in the region that could even hope to oppose him.

[X] [Money] Ask for a loan from House Tyrell.
[X] [Food] Buy more food from the Reach through House Tyrell.

Night as well ger confortable with the Tyrells as family.

And I'm of the idea of "letting" the High Septon step down and get a replacement.

He did his Job, but now Is a big obstacle in getting the Faith in our side. With them we can still sell the whole Protector of the Faith thing that Cersei and Joffrey "are"

Having them helping the condemnation of Tywin and the Mountain because of their pillaging and disobeying the Crown.

Against Stannis and the Faith of R Hllor: foreign, burning of our simbols, speaks well of Slavery.

Whoever this new High Septon Is won't be our creature, but between the invasions of Targaryen pretenders and now three rebellios Lord Paramounts we can point the Faith at them and keep them busy without them intruding too much in our not-so-pious Status Quo for the duration of the War

[X] [Money] Confiscate property of the Faith in the Crownlands.

...

Well, it would be prudent and rather pressing to secure more reasons for the Tyrells to maintain this "alliance" beyond the betrothal to Joffrey.

There are ways to still keep Tywin in goodish standing But only if he'll play ball which he won't.
Bad magic/curse but the power of the Seven saved him etc…. Even throw in that the High Septon is then one who Saved him but again don't see him playing ball.

You should probably not expect Tywin to defer to you on anything while he still commands the largest unified army in all of Westeros.

His who thing is benefiting his family his legacy. Don't really see how's that working out now. His pride is up and he can't see past that.
If IF we had a way out that he could SEE maybe but right now it's a cluster fluff….

Cersei does not need to eliminate Tywin's army, just Tywin himself.

Really, Cersei has already crossed so many lines. What is one more? Arranging for an assassin to eliminate Tywin would hardly even be the worst thing that she has done until now.

For one moment I read that as "random Fey girl" and now I'm not sure which is worse...
Honestly, a Fey girl would be more useful than a Frey since they would presumably be able to use magic.

I don't disagree that Tywin needs to die, but I doubt it would be that easy. Though I did contemplate the idea of luring a Faceless Man somehow to King's Landing and then ambushing them to send them to Qyburn in the hopes of learning their magic. Seems too risky though.

Hm, therein lies the question. With the treasury's pathetically abysmal state, can Cersei afford the fee of the Faceless Men, especially for such a high-profile target as Tywin?

One recalls now. The price demanded by the Faceless Men is always high or dear, but it is within the client's means if they are willing to make the sacrifice.

Cersei would be able to afford it, as long as she is willing to make the sacrifice.

I'm not going to confirm or deny. You'll have to send an envoy to Braavos as an action and if you get cold feet when the price is named, the action is wasted.

Well, as the idiom goes, you get what you pay for.

This sort of matter is one that needs to be successfully addressed and resolved on the first attempt, because one is unlikely to get a second.

The consequences of failing to assassinate Tywin on the first attempt would be even more costly than the initial fee.

If others insist, Cersei could try for the Sorrowful Men instead, but one does not remember if they take contracts outside of Qarth. Furthermore, it would not be the same guarantee that Tywin will die as it would be with the Faceless Men.
