Gotta make Hemp too useful and profitable to criminalize.
If we actually do go down the Hemp tech progress tree, we might want to start with Hemp paper just because it's an existing product.
That, and hemp paper is 10 times stronger than wood pulp paper and you can straight up skip steps that are mandatory with wood pulp, driving down costs.
A concerted effort to overrun the paper industry would help that. Clothing too. Apparently hemp cloth is stronger, more flexible and generally lasts longer after washing than cotton.
In addition, hemp requires a fourth as much water for the same weight in cotton. Is lower maintenance, and can grow in more places and in harsher conditions than cotton which is a finicky bitch even when the soil is absolut magnifiq.
It seems like a lot of effort though. Probably just throw business loans at a hemp supply chain and just see if it works out.
