My salient things are that I really thing that we should rethink our opposition to Prohibitionists, and our favorability to trying to strike a deal with Long. Prohibitionists, regardless of our perception of its legacy was a force powerful enough to bring forth a Constitutional Amendment irl banning alcohol. That didn't happen in Kaiserreich timeline but that also means that movement hasn't been tainted by the dirties of irl prohibition and this isn't even asking for full prohibition. I think we're turning down really easy political leverage in denying them. Beyond that I think we're also underestimating how much the flat wealth cap might piss off a core part of our coalition, big business. Also I don't really see why we shouldn't court Texas Oil in this case. I am hardly inclined to sing their praises but they're also the only force powerful enough to take on the Dixiecrat establishment of Texas even with the Longist influence that exists there now. It was historically LBJ's road to prominence without being completely reliant on the political patronage machines of Texas.

CSA
Yeah, we absolutely should not accept the enshrinement of Dual Power of the Workers' Councils. To explicitly recognize a Detroit Soviet or whatever would be intensely alienating to basically every part of our coalition from the more agrarian oriented Farmer-Laborers to the holdover conservative Democrats.
Civil Rights
In this case I am actually strongly inclined to back Federal Anti-Lynching laws. Anti-Lynching bills repeatedly passed the House in the 1920s and as powerful as Garner is, the Speaker of the House is nothing like a Senate Majority Leader. Bills cannot be held up forever in committee and indeed can be forced to the floor via a discharge petition. SPA senators really have no excuse whatsoever to vote against such a measure and what was IRL an unshakeable filibuster wall in the form of the Solid South, is divided between the very nominally racially neutral Longists, and the Rump Dixiecrats. Beyond that, this is nothing like later much more comprehensive Civil Rights Laws, this is basically anti-hate crime legislation which significantly softens the opposition of conservative Republicans and Democrats. I think that this would be a valuable promise that is a strong pull for the SPA and minorities to come onside for this vote which would lose us significant ground only where we basically never had it, ie the South.
Free Trade
Repealing the Smoot-Hawley tariff would anger primarily industrialists who enjoy not having to compete with foreign imports, but we can win back points with them on bail-outs and the government money of the Fair Deal. Lowering tariffs on the other hand would lower food prices with imports from Canada able to resume at a greater rate which would lower the overall price of food in particular. This could be painful to American farmers but we can win them back with agricultural subsidy and farm relief.
Prohibition
Prohibition never occurred in the Kaiserreich timeline and it has been a growing force in American politics for literally a century. We should not underestimate the power of the dry bloc, especially considering that in Kaiserreich it hasn't been tainted by years of the irl actual usage of the Volstead Act. It's a cheap non-alienating way to get a disproportionate amount of powerful support to support steps in the Dry direction that don't alienate Wets.
Banking
When you're this deep in the hole, more is more. Bailouts is the name of the game to attempt to return some level of liquidity to the economy as well as placating industrialists and the financial sector. I can't say I care very much if they're getting more than their fair share as long as people's savings stop going up in smoke from bankruptcies.
Farming
I genuinely can't think of any reason not to support Farmers as the dust bowl ravages the country and their generally more conservative Representatives and Senators need swaying.
Oil
Oil is the only force in Texas strong enough to sometimes defeat the the Dixiecrat establishment IRL. With the Longists sapping their strength, the support of Big Oil could bring us an unexpected harvest of votes in the House and Senate. Lyndon Baines Johnson, the unexpected hero of Civil Rights, began and ended his career with the unrepentant support of Texas Oil which allowed him to defeat people he shouldn't have been able to like the highly popular ultraconservative Governor of Texas, Coke Stevenson, in the Democratic primary for Senate in 1948 irl.
Pork
Pork is dirty, it is unpleasant to look at, but it is a powerful tool that cannot be turned away at this moment.
Racism
Clears throat
No.
Long
I really don't recommend going along with this, a flat wealth cap while not as radical as accepting the authority of the Worker's Councils probably is still the kind of thing that makes big business, industrialists, and bankers suddenly start entering kill mode and the fact is that it's more important to keep our coalition in line than to make a possibly successful overture to long.
