THRONE//FRINGE: Normal Human Mech-Girl Quest

[X] Exalted Among Refuse. Born to a world that saw you as trash, detritus, excrement of society, you cower from the light. The Emperor thinks differently, and as they reach out Their hand and offer you a dream of true potential, they whisper a single sharp command: Rise.

[x] Traitor to Her Class. Against abject monstrosity, against a society that places you in a position of power only if you will suppress the serfs that rise against it, the Emperor offers you a different path: Turn, and say together to the masters and the hand that holds the whip: No.

...Soooo, did someone really uplift tardigrades... make them huge... and then they nuke a moon?
I don't even surprised anymore. I am quite sure the empire uplift every multicellular organism at this point.

[X] Built for Different Purpose. Crafted for a caste, made to fulfill a role, reduced to fit your task. But the Emperor sees your dreams, offers you the sensation of the new, asks what it is you want. Against the rules of your stifling clade, you break from tradition. And you answer: More.

An architect made into a warrior by the Emperor's hand.

Theoretically, the Orellans just resemble tardigrades, and are nuclear-obsessed in part because like actual Tardigrades they're so radiation resistant that they developed its use early and just never stopped.

That being said, the idea that the Orellans ended up being an Imperial or pre-Imperial uplift project of the most hilarious proportions is extremely funny and is definitely one potential origin.

It's a strange thought, and one that disappears from your mind immediately. Of course they're bad at this - they're the antagonists.
This line had me cackling. Because just how much did that packet that Don used have to wrestle with the physical laws make this into objective reality inside our currently occupied reality bubble for all practical purposes?

On the vote, Built for Different Purpose seems like the most compelling one and also fitting for Arachne, and also somewhat unique as far as origin stories go.

[X] Maverick Climbing High. Hero, legend, monster, riding on a confidence that takes you to the top, utterly relentless, superiors split on whether you should be elevated or executed. The Emperor asks: Who among my subjects can truly face the dark? Without hesitation, you respond: I.

[X] Heir Aberrant. Cruel responsibilities, dull stock reports, moronic decisions, all weighing down on the princess' crown. Wouldn't it be nice, you ruminate, to just run away? The Emperor turns fantasies of escape real, whispers in your ear as you stand at the corporate castle's edge: Fly.

Rise
No
More
I
Fly

Hmm...

Turn against one master only to kneel before another. But maybe, the day will come, when she sees the truth.

Thank you so much for the link. I really appreciate everyone's comments and support in the past. I very much run the quest off the enjoyment that I get, the reactions - it's really about being able to share my creativity with other people that keeps me going.

Big reaction posts pulling apart the little details and jokes I put in, likes, votes and discussion off what I write is how I get feedback on how to improve and what people enjoy. It's always welcome and encouraged. I feel I've grown a hell of a lot as a writer since Fringe started, and the quest has really helped me get back into writing after a long, depressed hiatus. After ending a quest I had put so much work and effort into in part because it was weighing so heavily on my work, I'm now in a position where I can have a healthy life and a healthy writing pace.

So thanks, everyone, and rest assured there'll be plenty more crazy stuff to come.
