    I remember seeing another SV poster with an avatar of one of SMAC's Leaders, IIRC Lady Deirdre Skye and it inspired me to do similar. I didn't feel like using Sheng-Ji Yang's face but after searching I decided their emblem was pretty and the rest is history :)

    The entire character of a base and its inhabitants can be absorbed in a quick trip to the Rec Commons. The sweaty arenas of Fort Legion, the glittering gambling halls of Morgan Bank, the sunny lovers' trysts in Gaia's High Garden, or the somber reading rooms of U.N. Headquarters. Even the feeding bay at the Hive gives stark insight into the sleeping demons of Yang's communal utopia.

    It's genuinely astounding how well-written SMAC is, and how well it holds up.

    (the writing at least, the game itself desperately needs an updated UI :V )

    Eh, I feel like the UI is... functional?

    It's really the AI which needs an overhaul, IMO, because you can basically sleepwalk the game with just enough experience.

    Very true. The game is astonishingly well written, but the UI is very clunky and hard to use these days. I just wish that GOG supported cloud saves for it.

    I realize this is hilarious late but I somehow missed your comment, so I'll respond to it now.

    My avatar is from a fictional cult-religion called Sarkicism (Sarkicism Hub - SCP Foundation) that worships Flesh and has biomanipulative powers. They're great villains and as a transhumanist, I think their powers are neat :)

    One of the elements of fascism is that it runs with sexism and homophobia. The Imperium feeds women into the meat grinder (and had all female groups of warriors, during the Crusade and in the current period) and is fine with homosexuality.

    In regards to your signature:

    People treat sex differently than other physical activities. For example, I'm sure you wouldn't argue that rape is the same as assault. However both are attacks on the body. While your quote is technically right, it also misses a lot of context that we as society give sex.

    I understand the context I just don't agree, especially because our society has decided that sex for money in the context of pornography is perfect acceptable while sex for money in the context of sex work is unacceptable. Labor is labor and thus sex work at the very least should be decriminalized, if not outright legalized (while being heavily regulated).
