The Year is 2025, the walls between dimensions have suddenly begun to blur together and you have been hastily selected as the leader of a newly created organisation dedicated to the containment and study of the rapidly degrading fabric of space-time.
In a well lit room buried deep underground, a dozen world leaders surround a table and read the report that had been presented to them. The contents were both incredibly difficult to believe and backed up with ironclad evidence. The very fabric of reality was fraying and coming apart, evidenced by countless reports of the physics defying events or statistically impossible anomalies, along with scientifically repeatable tests.
As if the knowledge that the universe was coming apart wasn't bad enough, the most concerning occurrence was what had finally triggered the gathering of such powerful figures, impossible things crawling out of the frayed holes in reality and entering our own, detailed images and recordings of unnatural creatures covered the table and lit up screens.
Thus, the creation of a multi-national organisation dedicated to the containment and study of these anomalies and the degradation of the universe itself was created and empowered, being granted exceptional leeway to act as was deemed necessary to accomplish it's objectives.
The final inciting incident that triggered the creation of this organisation was:
[] The Second Tunguska Event
An enormous explosion rocked Siberia, once again originating from the Tunguska River. By the time investigators had gotten close enough, the tear in reality was already spilling forth alien creatures that blatantly ignored the laws of physics. It took three months of intensive operations for the Russian Federation to establish a quarantine around the area, but the flood of death has only gotten more intense as time passes and after several containment breaches they accepted that they could not keep containment alone.
[] Collapse Fluid
An exotic material with incredible properties has been leaking through the cracks in reality for centuries, accumulating in certain locations. Unbeknownst to most of the world the USSR and America were continuing a quiet cold war with the material and it's incredibly explosive properties under compression. Secrecy was blown wide open when a containment breach sent enormous quantities of the material airborne, where it began quickly spreading around the globe. Biological organisms rapidly decay after exposure to Collapse Fluid radiation, leading to guaranteed death within 24 hours, while causing substantial and incredible changes in their body before death. The currently ongoing WW3 has distracted most nations, but a few have noticed something brewing in the depths of the irradiated zones, horrible and unnatural forms moving through empty cities.
[] Ancient Invasion
Massive regions of the planet are being overwritten by sections of the earth from the distant past. Ancient forests filled with gigantic insects, vast plains hunted by dinosaurs and the barren rock of pre-life earth, prowled by things altogether more horrible. Plans are already being made to pacify and investigate these areas, some are even quietly considering the possibility of crossing back over into ancient times, whole planets ripe for the taking. Something about the whole situation puts many on edge though, some kind of instinctual reaction nagging at you.
[] The Void That Looks Back
Humanity has always been afraid of the dark, it turns out the reason was better than any could have imagined. Horrible things lurk in the places light cannot reach, crawling out of the cracks in reality dragging back those unlucky enough or too foolish to flee. Mankind has had quite enough of being prey for these unspeakable monsters, while they can reach in to take us, we can finally reach back.
[] All Of The Above
Why pick only one apocalypse at a time? All events will be chosen and the effects from each will combine and change the others.
[] Some Of The Above
Okay, maybe not all of the apocalypses at once, pick 2-3.
Note: This is only the first incident that spawned your organisation and the only one you get to pick, other incidents will happen all on their own.
As the unfortunate soul chosen to lead this new organisation, you are:
[] Kamikoshi Sorawo
An odd Japanese woman with heterochromatic eyes. While quite young at 23, she is one of the few people who have crossed the boundaries between worlds and come back. She was so successful at this that she has spent the past several years teaching and leading whoever is willing to pay how to best survive and navigate the horrors of the multiverse. She is a natural pick for a more hands-on leader and comes highly recommended.
- Well Respected: She has the admiration and respect of the many groups she has taught and led into the unforgiving madness beyond reality, they are willing to repay the favour. (+1 Military Dice, +10 to Military Dice)
- Hands On: She prefers to be directly involved with tasks involving other dimensions and has the experience to back it up. (+2 Dimensional Dice, +15 to Dimensional Dice, +1 Personal Dice)
- Uneducated: She never even finished school, let alone planned to lead a multinational organisation. (Less Political Support gain and greater Political Support loss, -5 to Infrastructure, Industry and Services Dice)
[] Edward Kaur
A lifelong administrator, Edward has worked with industrial giants of all kinds to bring their products to the market. He has a keen eye for business and an eagerness to expand his holdings.
- Lifelong Administrator: Knows his way around a desk, maybe a little too well. (+1 Services Dice, +10 to Services Dice. -1 Military Dice, -5 to Military Dice)
- Well Connected: He knows and has worked with many people in many industries. (+2 Industry Dice, +5 to Industry Dice, +1 Infrastructure Dice)
- Bad Reputation: He has something of a reputation for being amoral at times. (Less Political Support loss, can unexpectedly lose Political Support)
[] Doctor Persica
Not a particularly publicly known figure, Persica is a young but brilliant researcher with strong connections to other geniuses in their own fields. She's personally focused on AI and her recent work has shown astonishing progress well ahead of anything else ever made. Not the most social, but she's experienced in dealing with scientific squabbling and incredibly well educated.
- Scientific Connections: She personally knows and talks to many people who are leading their fields. (Once a turn, she can apply a +5 to any type of dice)
- Lazy: If she could get away with it, she'd spend all day lounging around in just a shirt. (-1 Personal Dice, -5 to All Dice)
- Genius: She devours knowledge at a terrifying rate. (+10 to All Dice)
Each leader will provide options in line with how they think about the world through their personal biases.
What name has been given to your new organisation?

Mostly because of the "effects from each will combine and change the others" part.
Collapse Fluid is maybe something that can possibly be exploited by us with delicate care, even though it feels like the sort of decision that leads to a sequel of our current horror movie later on.
The Void that looks back has the least information about it but combining the two makes it seem like Collapse Fluid comes from the eldritch horrors, and due to the whole combined thing the second scenario seems to lead to an easier solution to the first one since you just have to deal with things that come from outside of know reality, which sounds like a suitable starter apocalypse for something like this tbh.
The Void also mentions dimensional tech right from the start, which makes me think we start with it and can therefore research more about it immediately, which seems like something Persica would excel in.
Tunguska event seems like it's made for Kamikoshi considering the obvious entry point and heavy combat mentions, and Ancient Invasion feels exploitable by Kaur, although I think both options have some major setbacks for both characters
Considering this, the Collapse Fluid probably has a complication for Persica as well, but combining it with the Void that Looks back might lead to an easier alternate wincon for us.
Us dealing with a bigger mess at the start also means that we will probably have more influence later on since we dealt with two apocalypse scenarios at once and lead to better funding and the like.
Mind you, this is all speculation, but it was mostly what I was thinking when I made my vote.
If I recall correctly the collapse fluid is what happened during Girl's Frontline ww3. Its the type of thing where its really bad, it retreats then it suddenly returns with units that you need anti-tank rounds to penetrate.
Being suddenly uprooted and flown to the other side of the planet was a generally unpleasant process and the fact that she'd been forced to leave damn near her entire facility and staff behind on the cusp of another breakthrough grated deeply. However, in light of the current... situation, she accepted that she was going to have to buckle in for the ride. After all, it's not every day that the end of the world come knocking. The few snippets of information she'd managed to get out of China before the odd radiation from the leak had started blocking satellite communication was beyond grim.
By her own estimations, regrettably hastily calculated figures put together on her pad, at current rate of expansion all of China would be subsumed by the end of the next month. After that, the trade winds would blow it on a generally western course, though some would also head east to the American continent. Assuming that the effect spread evenly over distance, the surrounding Asian countries would be entirely consumed within four to five months and India would be on the chopping block in roughly a year. On the other side, Japan wasn't directly in the path of the spread, but from sheer proximity it would slowly travel up the country and completely cover it within two to three years.
North America had perhaps two years on the west coast and four years on the east, while the trade winds would see South America beginning to be covered within three. Europe and Russia were both furthest away and out of the path of the spread respectively, and could likely be expected to see at least four years before it began to encroach severely.
Of course, seeing how she had been practically abducted from her lab by armed soldiers who were looking even grimmer that she was, it hardly took a genius to put together the dots. This is going to result in another world war, the human population is going to plummet drastically and desperate people will take desperate measures. A year, maybe two before they make everything worse.
She let out a deep sigh and slouched back into the rough chair of the military transport she'd been oh so gently lead to, watching as the shores of China slowly disappear into the distance.
What a mess.
You were being taken to:
[] Europe
The European Union had more than a few shady scientific organisations working for them, and at least one of them had known about Collapse Fluid from espionage and WW2 German records. They are both the furthest away and the least united polity. Safe and still maintaining a strong manufacturing ability, nevertheless it was going to be devastated as the global food supply chain collapses, exasperating the deep political divides. Many of your fellow intellectuals fled back home here, if they could.
- Disunited: The European Union was previously a loose economic Union that had been suddenly and sharply welded together into a single "Nation". Many members still act in their own best interest and will refuse to help the whole.
- Growing Manufacturing: The previously ongoing disputes with China had seen some level of manufacturing return to Europe, it is going to be desperately needed now.
- NATO Foundation: The Military of the European Union can build itself up off of the bones of NATO. Along with it comes decades of multinational experience.
- Staunch Democracy: The Union answers to the People, politics is just another fact of life that you are going to have to live with.
- Medium Budget: Europe has well developed lands and a strong internal market, what held it back in the past now provides some measure of stability.
[] Russia
The vast empty wastes of Russia were going to take a long time before being fully contaminated. The far eastern territories of Siberia were already lost, but much of the most productive and useful land was very far west. Due to ongoing sanctions Russia was both poor and very self-sustaining, it produces many of the things it needs on it's own and is not reliant on imports for anything critical. The recently finished occupation of Ukraine is going to be an incredible boon in the near future, as the vast fertile lands will be more than capable of feeding Russia, until the Collapse radiation cloud reaches them. The Political situation seems rock solid, you can probably trust it to do what needs to be done, so long as the leader stays in power. As one of the parties already studying Collapse Fluid, they have a lot of knowledge they are willing to share.
- Autarky: Russia has been living with harsh sanctions for a long time and is more than capable of providing for itself without relying on trade. It will be by far the least effected from the collapse of global supply.
- Dictatorship: So long as you are doing what needs to be done for the survival of Russia, politics will be no obstacle for you. Should you prove yourself otherwise...
- Thawing North: The frozen north is rapidly thawing, freeing enormous amounts of land for use, even if most of it is completely barren.
- Collapse Fluid Experience: Russia has inherited decades of Collapse Fluid documentation from the USSR.
- Low Budget: Very stable income not terribly effected by the global collapse.
[] America
America is in for extremely rough times. Climate Change continues ravishing the country with natural disasters and the previously productive region of the corn belt has begun to dry up, as the vast supply of ground water being drained to grow crops is almost empty. It maintains an extremely strong manufacturing industry and has very high levels of militarisation. Geography alone is going to wreck a terrible toll, most of the population sit on either coast and the west coast is going to be inundated with Collapse radiation in as little as two years. Politically, the country is incredibly divided and deep resentment has been brewing between a near even split of the population, it's a bomb waiting to go off. As the other party studying Collapse Fluid, they also know a great deal about it.
- Brewing Civil War: It's less a matter of if and more a matter of when.
- Imminent Food Crisis: Previously the US was capable of leaning on other nations to cover it's diminishing food production, that is no longer the case.
- Military Juggernaut: The United States is undeniably the greatest military power on the planet. They have deep pockets and world class research facilities.
- Collapse Fluid Experience: The United States has been studying the Collapse Fluid for over a century now.
- High Budget: For now, the ongoing global supply collapse is going to have ruinous effects very shortly.
