Deedeequest or The Wonders of Mundus: Be Careful Who You Pretend To Be - A Genderous Isekai Quest

How Dice Rolls Work
Character sheet is here.

Dice rolls are 1d10 + Stat + Proficiency + any applicable bonuses, such as Boons.

You may spend 3 Tension to Overdrive for a retroactive +5 to your roll (a Determination Overdrive), or +3 to an ally's roll (a Teamwork Overdrive). I will also automatically overdrive to avoid exhaustion or unconsciousness.

It is possible to critically succeed (on +5 on skill checks and +10 on combat rolls) or critically fail (by the same margins), but rolling a 1 or a 10 does not automatically crit in either case. It is possible to crit retroactively by Overdriving.

Your stat bonuses have names:
  • Vigor grants a Strength bonus.
  • Agility grants a Dexterity bonus.
  • Spirit grants an Aura bonus.
  • Mind grants an Intuition bonus.
  • Resolve grants a Guts bonus.
Dice are rolled on a first come, first serve bonus. You only roll for Deedee.

[X] Let the character we reach out to first make the call.

This little twist is At Best Disconcerting, but if we can assume the enemy players are under the same conditions as us (which I'd guess is safe), then we have a situation where neither side has a combat advantage - meaning it's now a strategic decision.

That makes me think we should let Hikaru make the call as to how to react to it, balancing safety with Not Giving These People An Opportunity To Cause More Suffering.

I'd almost suggest Captain Miles, but honestly we need a group discussion to figure out how to break it to him without sounding like Mutan stole what little sense we have.
Technically that's Flamma's job - goddess of fire, passion and alchemy/brewery is the one people blame for mania - but point taken.

[X] Let the character we reach out to first make the call.

I'll allow this write-in.

Is "[] Let Alesha make the call" a valid write-in for if we're not going to her first?

[X] Alesha.
[X] Now. They might get away before we can confront them. (Short rest and combat.)

A note on my thinking, because I'm new here and I'm not sure what the etiquette is: I'm not sure what I'm voting for is a good decision, but it's an interesting one and it's very in-character: it's easy to go to Alesha for something like this, and easy to forget that it might be pressure-on-pressure.

I like paladin types, and part of what I like there is seeing how they react when things go to hell.

So this is probably what I'd do were I RPing this in a tabletop game in the circles I usually RP with, but I can rethink that if it's wildly outside the norms of how people usually engage with quests around here.

I try to phrase things so that there isn't a choice that's out of character for Deedee, but for my Sheaves twain:

I want to encourage participation for people trying to roleplay a certain character. Or who have a crush on a character and want to see more of them. Or who want Deedee to succeed and vote for that.

Don't stop yourself from voting because you don't think it'll win, or because it's not an optimal decision. Vote for what you want to see. I consider what everyone voted for, and why, even if a vote fails.

You know it's just a thought but what they're wearing might be an ok way of guessing if someone's a PC or not because MMO players do have a tendency towards wearing a pretty eclectic mix of gear for one reason or another.

Some are not like a certain lolzerker.

You're both correct. Some Adventurer gear is distinctive, and the needs of monster hunters* are different than those of soldiers, though there's overlap.

Acquiring piratical camouflage is fairly easy, however. Good thing you succeeded at the Empathy roll to see through the disguise!

* such as the need for adorable catfolk to cook for them - wait, that's monster hunters with caps who need that, never mind.

There's actually a reason why some people's cash shop items survived, when most of it didn't. I'm looking forward to when people figure it out, in and out of game.
So far it seems to be that only items that someone doesn't want to actually wear are present.

[X] Sekhmet

I admit this is more "I want to see Sekhmet's reaction" than "I think this is the best plan"

I need to double check but I'm pretty sure that the only cosmetic that we specifically know is missing is Hikaru's mustache so I'm guessing that the cosmetics that are missing are ones that the average member of each race won't have due to ether physiological or cultural reasons or because they wouldn't reasonably exist in setting like a spacesuit.

I think we should break it to our strategist first because it has strategic implications.

...I just forget who that is out of these names.

Alesha, the tall, human, Black paladin, is the company warmaster.

Hikaru, the very short winged pixie ("potato") wizard nerd, is the company strategist.

Sekhmet, the lanky felinoid thief who's played by DD's IRL roommate Jules, is the company quartermaster.

Agreed that the strategist should probably be informed first, but it's probably wiser to act now and maintain the initiative while we have it, rather than allow both parties to rest & recuperate and face them on their territory.

Oh, I didn't vote yet?
