Semper Ad Meliora (Code Geass/Britannian Royalty Quest)

I also wonder how this compares to our psionic-alchemy-made materials? Is it something that would work well together with them? How much it would improve Knightmare Frames if used in them? And can we get legal access to the notes and licencing to produce it ourselves, and/or for the Ashfords?
I'm more interested in potential space elevator projects. Use the float system to help with construction and it is possible. We would need to make nice with Area 9 governor but that is a nice place to construct one (due to being on the equator). While the float system is a power hog it is perfect for building a space elevator due to being a mostly stable platform. And after a space elevator is up the energy cost of getting things into orbit will be lessened.
In the wake of the terrorist attacks by Taiwanese extremists, the chairman of the company has unveiled plans to construct the first planned super-city the world has ever witness. Expected to rise over two thousand meters and take the form of an enormous solar panel-covered pyramid, it will house millions of Japanese citizens in the utmost safety and comfort. It is planned to be a modern monument to Japanese cultural pride and engineering skill. Only time will tell if this will prove folly or the start of what will become a new wonder of the world.
Can you say great big terrorist target. While it is nice PR they will really need to ramp up security so this doesn't turn into a disaster.
African Unions: The peaceful political and economic unification of the years prior bear bitter fruit early this year as a wide-scale civil uprising against the reforms targeting the betterment of mentally-talented individuals. Already, thousands are dead as a new generation of 'witch hunts' spread like wildfire throughout the continent, bringing with it a revival of slumbering tribal hatreds and lingering post-colonial revanchism. Many of the targeted minority have fled the region, taking refuge in Britannian possessions along the west coast, heading to Area 7 in the south of the continent, or moving to the northeast to take shelter in either Area 10 or the Ethiopian Empire. Many credit the sudden upswing of violence to the concerted and, some say, forced efforts by the governments of the Unions and the neutral Central African nations to set aside personal interests in favor a greater whole. Many have complained in the face of the influxes of cheap goods, migrant labor, and other problematic byproducts of the political moves and pointed to this civil uprising as basic scapegoating. The EU, on the other hand, has cited the recent psionic civil rights movements and forced cultural reconciliation as not only the flashpoint, but the majority of the cause in whole.
The refuge situation is a hard choice. On one hand we will most likely get more potential psionic recruits due to psionics being one of the targeted groups. On the other hand it will be dealing with refuges and tensions caused by them. At least if we decide to take them in we have the surplus administrative staff to help deal with them.
The only problem is that deciding to take them in will require us to take Domestic Supplies next turn for the simple reason that we will need some kind of local industry for them to work in and a way to feed them.
That will of course force us to postpone Resource Scouting (to find out if we have the raw materials for sakuradite synthesis) or Watchtowers (which could be useful with a potential attack in the near future)
Other news from your contacts brings worrisome movements from the New Heaven under Tian Wang. Minister Dreizehn Weber, in accordance with your agreement, has forwarded you a few very interesting pieces of information regarding ship movements. It's very likely that the group is planning some large-scale raid. Weber paints suspicion that his own polity is likely the target, but it could just as easily be your own group or another of the pirate enclaves. Replying in kind, you inform him of the Ching Shih's own aberrant movements.
I think we will need to take a military action next turn to use our new fleet and deal with this. One advantage is that our fleet is actually optimised for hunting the pirate fleet regardless of the target and unless we get really unlucky in the rolls it could be a political coup. Destroying a pirate fleet when the main focus of the Indonesian Conference is piracy would give us some extra arguments.
Lastly, you receive further confirmation that the Indonesian Conference is likely to be an uphill battle. An extended argument has taken place between high-level functionaries of the Confederation and the Eunuchs' envoys. You will likely have to do a great deal more work than you first envisioned if you are to follow through with Schneizel's suggestions. Your contact has implied that the Eunuch leading the group specifically has pushed for a series of concessions from the Confederation which strongly suggests he has alternative aims or that he is deliberately attempting to further fracture relations between Indonesia and China.
Should have taken Euphemia to this. We need the power of de-escalation she wields. I hope Kaguya's sneakiness and familiarity with Chinese politics will help.
Euro-Britannia: The subordinate empire has, this year, announced a national campaign to study the remains of what is believed to be an air-burst comet or asteroid. Euro-Britannia has declined Britannian expertise as of this moment and put off any offers of outside scientific specialists until the international community puts the matter forward next year for discussion. Obvious to many is the country's desire to get a head start on analyzing what they can of the debris and secure the best samples for themselves.
I'm starting to wonder if the explosion didn't have a blue colouring. I wonder what would be the reaction of EB to biotics taking their anti psionic stance into consideration.

A habitable pyramid over two thousand meters in height. Yeah, that will be a thing if it succeeds. Here are some size comparisons from the real world:
And from Code Geass. The Fuji Mountain in the background is 3776 m (12,388 ft) according to Wikipedia. Not sure about how tall the settlement is, but the carbon nanotubes are still clearly a great leap when compared to the current Code Geass canon tech, as well as of the tech level in this quest.

Funny thing? True Story.

If China can make iceberg aircraft carriers, I don't see why Japan can't built a pyramid.

Obviously, giant robots and the availability of nanotubes will help speed the construction time along so that it's finished a bit before 2110.

Edit: ALSO, YES, VOTING IS OPEN! VOTE!

Code Geass is really into mega-engineering, huh? That honestly looks like an arcology. Those specks at the bottom look like buildings. Pendragon is the same, with towers reaching past clouds.

Does this take an action away from him and what would be the DC for him getting something out of it? Or will we get everything from it either way?
This was answered earlier by Slayer Anderson:
Barring something crazy happening, I should be putting up the Rumor Mill for this turn sometime tonight.

Also, owing to simplifying what already promises to be a complicated turn for next year, I'll be adding a vote for this post.

Simply put, it will be a choice to turn the Gawain into a command unit or hand it over to Jaeger for him to do science on. Possibly SCIENCE! as well. Doing so will be a multi-turn action, two years, and will involve taking the Gawain apart substantially. Jaeger will be able to put it back together afterwards barring a critical failure (01-05 on the dice), but it will require a separate action to do so, though only one year.

The reasoning behind this is that the Gawain, as it is now, is very much a 'super-prototype' equivalent to a masterpiece. It's also utterly unique and not completely within Jaeger's specialties. As such, he intends to take extra time to do it right rather than possibly fuck up doing it quickly (the DC will be marginally lower because of this).

If you turn it into a command unit instead, there will be a single military action to build a support system for the Gawain. It will function at a reduced capacity, but still retain substantial bonuses. This is because, as mentioned early, the machine does have a few flaws.

So that vote will occur tonight. Also, be ready for something of a wild ride, the rolls for this year were very interesting.
EDIT: Oh, and these were also relevant:
@Slayer Anderson can we hire / borrow / co-operate with some actual knightmare-experts immediately in the next turn before the Learning -phase for taking apart and putting back together Gawain? It should be an incentive for someone like Jules to be at least temporarily interested, if not necessarily change employers. Of course, if we do not manage to permanently hire those expert, there is the danger of leaking information, but even then it might be worth the risks.

Mind you, I'm still for taking Gawain apart even if getting more expertise immediately is not possible. I just want to know if we can improve the potential results.
I'll add something to the Diplomacy and/or Learning phase. Likely with the Ashford Conglomerate as you have a connection with them.

Be aware, this will likely mean allowing the Ashfords to crib whatever notes they want from the Gawain and produce their own versions of whatever tech you get. It's almost certainly going to be the Ashfords for this action, but anyone you'd make that kind of deal with would want the same.

We will probably need the Ashfords to mass produce anyway, so we might as well try to get a full cooperation and royalty payments as well as cost price KMFs for us.

Or we can have different versions where one can be kept private and the others sold.

This was answered earlier by Slayer Anderson:
No it doesn't. It says we will have to invest another action to put it back together and it implies this is already an action. Following that line it would take an action away. But there is no real confirmation of it, which is why I ask for a clarification.

The only mention of a DC is that low roll will make it impossible for Jaeger to rebuild it and that the DC is lower overall because he takes his time. The overall DC is not mentioned and if we need to pass it to get something, which would normally be the case, is also not mentioned.

The other part just revolves around lowering the DC and spending another action, but does not involve the action per se.

To answer as specifically as possible...

Jaeger will accept custody of the unit if you choose to give it to him right now. He will not go ahead and start on it until you give him the all-clear in the Learning section this coming year. You'll be able to either select it or put it off for another choice. I don't take away actions from players without explicitly warning them.

The DC will be tiered. Likely 50/70/90 to signify each tier of success (FLOAT/Hadron Canon/Druid System - in that order).

If you fail the DC, you won't get immediate access to the tech right now, but if another path to it opens up, the DC will be lower.

There's also the Diplomacy action I'm still cooking up right now to talk to the Ashfords about lowering the DCs. I'll have to get back to people on that.

Thank you.

[X] Hand it over to Kenshin Jaeger for analysis.

...so other then the nano-tube thing every faction other than Britannia is barely moving/succeeding it seems. I mean the fact that Cornelia got slowed down at all is pretty impressive but her success honestly seems inevitable and after the middle east is taken thats basically game for the EU as a world power baring some sort of massive failure on her part or crit success on the EU/MEF side which...is unlikely to happen
