Semper Ad Meliora (Code Geass/Britannian Royalty Quest)

@Slayer Anderson you said a bit ago that we don't really need a piety advisor anymore, but if we don't get one we're a long ways off from the extra action they would provide us. Is there an action to acquire a second piety action available and we just don't realize it, or is a preemptive nerf being applied so we don't snowball into being overpowered?
I was going to wait to announce this at the beginning of next turn, but...

There will be an option to build a Piety Workshop next turn in Stewardship.

If you take that and 'Chasing Shadows' next turn to crew it, and successfully complete both, you'll get a second Piety Action.

You can only do this because you got the Alchemy Trait. You had to get both a 90+ and the specific number on the trait table to get Alchemy. I expected this to happen, just not so soon. You managed to skip something like three to five years of incremental progress with that stroke. YOU LUCKY FUCKS.
Also, just to clarify mechanics, what is the threshold we need to cross to get an extra action like we have in Intrigue? I'm assuming have our stat over 20, but that's just guesswork on my part.
Honestly, you'll need another advisor for another action on those. Which means either SL up one of the high-stat categories you've already got:

Euphie - Diplomacy
Milly - Stewardship
??? - Learning (Sadly, you don't have a good candidate for Learning Advisor currently in your SL.)

In order to get a second. I'm about to offer you a chance to possibly recruit another advisor in a turn or two as well. Also... there's... a thing that will need to be talked about, later. Next turn is looking to be... eventful, let's just say.

How easy is it to get a restraining order against your mom's immortal best friend and your immortal uncle I wonder.

I'm guessing you've done this turn's global and national events and something big just happened. Though what won't be known until the rumor mill update.

Not that eventful. Especially since everyone turned down the turn 1 mystery boxes with a vengeance.

So the mystery boxes had a chance to get us an in to the Geass Directorate or something? Man we should have chosen the mystery box.

Given it will be at least one* turn before we can even start that Piety Workshop it isn't as great an advantage as it might look.

*depending on how expensive it is and how soon we get a Stewardship advisor it could well be more.

"May you play interesting turns." type eventful or 'surprise campaign turns' eventful?

From the Naval act, we took they shouldn't be that heavily armed.

iirc a previous update these are various locals and foreign pirates too. Worst case scenario there's some sort of pirate lord using an ancient super battleship hidden in the area.
Right, so a few response boat mediums, maybe a 100 footer to raise our flag from, and a buoy tender or two to go poke around our navigational buoys from time to time. Sounds doable.

edit: Hell, we could probably do it in our free time. We could just root around the couch cushions in Aries Villa if we really wanted to fund it, that or ask mum if it's an appropriate thing to spend our allowance on.

Reminds me that I need to finish that omake I was writing. It'll probably be made noncanon since I'm making V.V older, but I could never understand how the hell he got a fully matured Geass and took the Code from whoever gave him his Geass and got himself killed by like 12.

It also allows for a fun plot point of him juggling his normal responsibilities while hunting down his immortal waifu. Can't decide if he should be tsundere about it though.

One was for CC and the other for VV, but they were both basically 'stumble across them' options. Finding CC eating pizza in the kitchens at midnight, type deal. Not saying what VV would have been doing.

...no, actually, that wasn't what I was talking about either. Nice try, though, and as an aside those rolls were interesting.

The former, though it may end up spiraling into a mini-turn.

Edit: Also, I'm going to go do some stuff. I'll probably call the vote in a few hours, since this is just as ridiculous as the last vote:

  • [X] Plan Big Brother and Little Sister
-[X] Schneizel: Your elder brother Schneizel has been extremely busy these last few years with his work forging the treaty which has kept the EU out of the North Africa War. However, he's extended the offer this year for a few games of chess in his meager spare time, a reminder of when you two were younger and more carefree. Perhaps you'll even win a match this time. Cost: 50; Upkeep: 0; DC: 20/80; Rewards: Schneizel's SL opens up, Potential increase in International Intelligence, ???
-[X] Euphemia: You have given your word to be available if Euphemia needs assistance in navigating the pool of sharks that is the imperial court. So, of course, you will be available. There is the outside chance you will be able to exchange pleasantries with Cornelia as well. Cost: 50; Upkeep: 0; DC: 10/60; Rewards, Euphemia's SL Progresses, potential progress on Cornelia's SL, increased closeness with the li Britannia branch, and other options open up.

-[X] Boot Camp: Although Jeanne isn't quite comfortable enough to begin socializing with you as an equal, she is willing to impart some lessons in physical training. There is, of course, the possibility that you could manage to get her to relax a bit in the meantime. Possibly even in your company. Cost: 50; Upkeep: 0; DC: 40; Rewards: Jeane SL raises, Possible Martial trait.
-[X] Cornelia: Your older sister has stated a desire to head further afield and fulfill military ambitions for the glory of Britannia. She has already asked to be released from her oath of duty to your mother, so her departure for the NAL is imminent. You should spend some time with her before that happens. Cost: 50; Upkeep: 0; DC: 40; Rewards: Cornelia's SL Progresses, Interaction with her military unit, Small possibility of Trait Gain.

[X] Plan Rise of the Youth

I will reiterate my stance that Schnizel is not worth it. Even barring making appear (or more likely, him twisting court insight to make it seem) like we are backing him and his claim, if he is anything like his canon self, he is likely to be our greatest foe for the throne. Even if we didn't want to become the Emperor, he would require dedication, loyalty, and probably full use of whatever talents we have in order to make us a second to him.

So, I think any action spent purposefully trying to befriend him and (somehow) manipulate him into supporting us instead, is an action wasted. It's not likely to happen, and most likely would require blackmail, or some other intrigue or piety based series of actions/crits to cause. And it'd likely end up with only dubious loyalty that has to be constantly watched, than anything truly lasting and worthwhile.

Thus, overall, it seems to me that we shouldn't waste our time like that. Especially considering Lelouch's and Schnizel's ambitions are almost certain to wind up clashing, thus winding up becoming enemies anyway. It'd probably require a crit, or more than one, to get a good result out of it. Betting on crits is not a good plan of action.

Also, barring talk of Schnizel, we have a confirmed great pilot/actual Ace in Lelouch's younger sister, with promise of increased closeness to Lulu's mother. Combine all that with Kallen, it might be plenty possible to start down a path to get Nunally to be another pilot for us and everything, and for Marianne to take an interest in training Kallen. Even if it's only a bit, combined with Nunally, Sayako, and Jeanne, she should grow by leaps and bounds. (Ok, and good rolls, but still).

I'm good with either one and I think the Schneizel one is going to win anyway. Actually Schnubbing Schneizel just might back to bite us, but who cares, adversity only makes us more dangerous. So I'll pile in with the second plan.

[X] Plan Rise of the Youth

This drags in Cornelia and Marianne, it's the perfect plan for building up our closest relationships.

??? - Learning (Sadly, you don't have a good candidate for Learning Advisor currently in your SL.)

What about a halfway decent one, like Sayoko?

The possible international intel of the Schneizel action is good for our future goals, this would hopefully get us something equivalent to SERE training though, which will be useful when we go to war.
