Zerg Quest RIOT QUEST

Concise rules overview.
To recap the rules:
  • Every player who joins the game gets embodied into a free Drone
  • Every player gets one action per turn. Their body doesn't get a separate action.
  • If a player's body dies, they can still do actions that don't require a body, like spawning units and researching.
  • When a player spawns a new body for themselves (at the usual cost for the unit) while not dead, their previous body dies.
  • Heroic units can be spawned by paying one Heroic Bonus as an additional resource.
  • When any action requires a roll, a number of d10s get rolled. On a 10 another d10 gets rolled, up to 3d10 for each initial d10.
  • A full roll of 30 from a single initial dice grants the Hive +1 Heroic Bonus.
  • Players can add a d10 to their roll by writing a short (1+ paragraphs) omake. This d10 can also explode into up to 3d10s each.
  • Players doing an action that requires a roll through a Heroic body may roll another d10 on scoring either a 9 or a 10. They may also get +2d10 instead of +1d10 if they write a long (2+ paragraphs) omake.
Is this all correct? Am I missing any other not unit-specific rules?

A Disembodied player spawning a new body has to pay the cost for the body. Also a Disembodied player spawning a new body can cash in a Heroic Bonus in order to start the next turn as a Heroic unit instead of taking two turns to do so.

Added.

Are Heroic NPC units a thing or is that only for buildings?

That all looks correct

Only the buildings (for now) there are no hard rules with custom R&D

This one also applies if the action taken does not require any rolls. Rolls have no effect for the action, but still qualify for Heroic bonus for three 10s in a row.

[X] Scout Jungle (2d10)

If there was one thing that Idol-Zergling could say about the Birdthings, that they were annoying, had terrible singing voices and kept trying to murderize her while she was exploring the jungle!! But at the very least their feathers looked nice, she had taken to collecting them and using the feathers to decorate her body alongside some pretty flowers she found and other pretty things stuck onto her carapace.

It wasn't much but it was a start to her Idol Dress, she just needed to find something to properly tie it together.....and would look good once she is covered in bird blood again.
Sinsystems threw 3 10-faced dice. Reason: Idol Scouts and Murders Birds. Total: 17

So I should be rolling whenever I do actions? But not all actions have the same base amount of d10s. How many should I roll? And how, if at all, does being embodied into a Heroic unit influence these rolls. Does a player in a Heroic Hydralisk that uses his turn to spawn Zerglings roll 1d10 or 2d10?

You get one bonus d10 for an omake, if an action has no roll you can do an omake for a d10 just for the chance of a heroic bonus.

So if I understand correctly since I'm new, I'm a drone.
I suppose I will mine.
[X] Mine Minerals (1d10)
Faucar threw 1 10-faced dice. Reason: minerals Total: 3

I think getting a Heroic Queen first is probably a better idea. Then the next Heroic Bonus we get, we can see about you becoming a Heroic Zergling.

@Zedalb, you didn't answer what action one need to try and lead the incoming flock (or, rather, murder) of birds to another hive (one with giantic zergs). Scouting Jungle, or a write-in?

I would probably just treat it as a queen attack.

Have a queen vote to originated and plan it and stuff.

Have zerglings vote to support the queen.

It's a weird attack but it's still basically an attack
