You Are: A sector admiral of a strained imperium.

[X] Drink Responsibly. By all means have fun, but do not drink too much, do not get too involved in illegal death sports, try to keep Ranca out of trouble.

[X] Capitalise. Apparently they are theming a fight on you? Let people know who is here to join the party!

Shit, I just wanted a fun little race.

I am not interested in killing some random gladiator who has next to no chance against Reinhard.

But we are here, so lets loosen up a bit.

At least this option with Ranca has allowed Reinhard's personality to shine through.

[X] Volunteer. You really want to cut loose. If people want to see a dramatization of your fighting the NASP admiral? Then let them see a shadow of the real thing. Take that fight yourself, Ranca would love it.

With more information, I'll go with this.
[X] Capitalise. Apparently they are theming a fight on you? Let people know who is here to join the party!

[X] Try To Network. This might actually be an excellent way to make a few contacts with the underworld of the capital and such people also make interesting company.

Uncertain about these two... Going for "volunteer" because I think we can benefit from spinning it for propaganda.

Come on people, please stop voting for Volunteer. It is way too risky for us and could easily get us in a situation where we lose a lot of political capital, which we need.
For those that do not want Volunteer to win, the closest option to overtaking it is Try To Network, a far safer option that gives us much better rewards than needlessly throwing ourselves into a fight that might be too hard for us. So, I ask of those who are not voting for Volunteer, please change your votes to Try To Network, so we can do an action that does benefit us.

I consider even 20 PC to be a fair price for a stat gain. (10 PC is a fair price for a chance at it and I can't see us losing more than that for this.)

I am rather annoyed by the scaremongering going on, so...

Pointing out we're putting our hand in fire by getting ourselves in "future entanglements" according to Packrat isn't scaremongering. Drinking is the only one that "avoids future entanglements", explicitly keeps Ranca out of trouble and Reinhard from committing a crime.

Let's see.
@Briefvoice @Dwergar if you don't want to sabotage our character by committing a highly illegal activity that can kill us with no chance of concealing it, consider changing your vote to anything else. Packrat has shown he is willing to add options that are bad and will haunt us. If you want to improve our relationship with Ranca, drinking responsibly still does that because it means we spend our time with her instead of doing something else.
Badgering other players to change their votes for the absolutely best option that of course happens to be yours.
Implying other players who don't want to vote your way want to sabotage the quest/character instead.
Implying the other option is a trap meant to haunt us and screw us over.
Amplifying the risks of negative outcomes to make them seem like a certainty. We have ways of dealing with/mitigating the fallout even if things go wrong.
Going as far as to state that your option does certain things better than the option that has it written in plain text.

And that's, like, in 3 sentences, of which you have many more. I know you are enthusiastic about this quest, but could you tone it down just a bit, please? Deriding other players and their choices doesn't seem to serve your purpose.

When Chronologist raised the possibility of failure when jumping to New Theia with 3 warships to our name, you laughed him in the face, and he wasn't half as adamant about his opinion. Here we have a mirror situation, and an option with a bit of a risk attached, even though it is relatively manageable considering the layers of legal and extra-legal protections we have... but you are on the other side of the fence now, so it must be everyone else who are wrong.

Practice what you preach, man.

Is the supply of shares fixed, semi-fixed (like stocks or bonds, the government/corporation can issue more if it wants), or constantly increasing as people buy more?

if things go well we have options
if things do not go well, then there be a interesting time getting back to the "car" with lady murderface here

Yes? I wouldn't vote to drink responsibly if I didn't think it was the best option. :wtf: I wasn't badgering anyone. They aren't obligated to respond to me. Discussion and debate keeps the quest alive and lets us figure out which choices are better.

Wrong on all of these. I'm not implying anything. Please don't read into things that you think exist but don't. I didn't say there were trap options. I said there were bad options that will haunt us. The most recent one was going at full speed. In hindsight that was a bad choice because it ended with Imhotep being ruined. The most recent choice we had a possibility of choosing would have been taking the battlecruiser for free. There is a difference between "bad" and "trap". Most of my posts were also before Packrat downplayed the risks in his posts. Please don't mischaracterize me.

Deriding other players and their choices doesn't seem to serve your purpose.

You'd maybe have a point if you didn't accuse me of scaremongering. "Practice what you preach". I made plenty of arguments for why I think Drink Responsibly is the best choice and you're ignoring them all because I said volunteering would sabotage our character?

When Chronologist raised the possibility of failure when jumping to New Theia with 3 warships to our name, you laughed him in the face, and he wasn't half as adamant about his opinion. The difference was the risk versus reward. You must have ignored or forgotten the arguments I made to see how they're completely different. One involved us using our ridiculous military stats and intact fleet to strike at the enemy for the gain of prize money and political capital. I already described what I saw as the benefits and don't want to repeat what Packrat said. Those come at the price of making ourselves "vulnerable to political dirt digging" by committing crimes we don't have to.

Not boring, not dangerous.
Good enough.
