That's what the Sorrow duology is for. Dracula was killed off for real in 1999 and his castle sealed into a solar eclipse. His spirit escaped, though, and reincarnated into a mortal. In this fic, that mortal is Taylor. (Have to bend the rules a bit to incarnate into someone who's already born, but whatever.)
Taylor's life goes as normal, though every parahuman she meets is unnerved by her and can't explain why. Animals don't generally like her either. That all changes o- wait, shit. The next scheduled total eclipse in New England isn't until 2024 at the earliest. Never mind.
In the KH idea I had I thought about using parahumans as doors to different worlds where their Shards resided.yways, I do like the idea of Taylor with a keyblade, not vis a vis the greater story arc, but because, well, the keyblade opens doors.
You're certainly going to stay shit if you never do any writing. So, why don't you write it yourself?oh and before you go "why don't you write it youself?" I must inform you that I'm quite frankly shit at writing fanfiction.
Write it at QQ, then.Great, now I have a Carmen Sandiego muse, my OTHER muse demanding me tow rite more Fate Woven in Steel...and NOW I have an ideas for a Taylor with GABRIEL BELMONT powers....well why not, the guy is pretty much the ultimate bryonic anti-hero...
Then again, when someone punches out Satan, can he be called an anti-hero anymore?
As for a Soma Cruz based Dracula!Taylor, the only conceivable way I can think of to make that work is to have the castle manifest itself when she gains her abilities. And hilariously enough, considering the Locker, I'd say the traditional vampire requirement of bathing in blood would be fulfilled.
Winslow becomes Dracula's Castle, shit goes nuts and Taylor gets to learn all about being a Dark Lord...or Lady...with the help of her new happy family of servants. Including but not limited to; Death, Lillith, Orlox and Medusa.
I would include Carmilla but then it would be impossible for me to keep the story from being burned by the Mods. Writing Slaanesh is hard enough but at least S/He is into everything so I can skirt the unsavory bits. Carmilla is a psychotic yandere in Castlevania.
Your logic, It cannot be deniedWrite it at QQ, then.
Carmilla is also a reincarnate. Most people call her Amy Dallon.

He becomes a Blade expy.I think you mean Brian Laborn.
Oh come on, you know it would be hilarious.
I see what you did there.
I thought that was Quarrel, but I get those mixed up.at's a plausible theory, but Quiver (who later became the Butcher) also had Enhanced/Perfect Aim.
You say that like its a bad thing.
That wasn't intentional. For one, he actually has character now!
And now I'm reminded of some of the old discussion about adding in magical elements for Worm. Reposting old stuff:
So, after watching the latest Hellsing abridged, I was thinking about going back to the old Vampire!Taylor idea with a Hellsing cross, but after a little thought, I remembered one of the primary issues with it, namely on Taylor being the only Vampire.
So, let's do a full up Urban fantasy fusion with Worm. Marvel and DC have spellcasters and such alongside more traditional superheros, and I don't see why we can't do something similar.
First order of business is the Entities. This isn't the first time they've seen magic, so it's not exactly an OCP. That said, Eden was the one that kept track of all the esoteric magic shit, so while Scion can shrug off most magic attacks, there's hope with the more esoteric stuff. Cauldron, needless to say, has been doing a lot of research.
Generally though, most magic is pretty street level in effect, and the number of Mages who could be considered Triumvirate tier can be counted on one hand. Myrddin is one of them (and may in fact actually be Merlin). I'm generally thinking low-mid level Shadowrun for what most mages and wizards can do, and them being generally far less numerous then capes. Maybe something like 10:1 ratio at canon start.
Vampires are modeled on Hellsing, with some caveats; the stuff in Hellsing is all very high end as Vampires go, with the typical vampire being considerably weaker. The Artificial Vamps were created from a fairly potent Vamp after all, and Alucard is, well, Alucard. Generally though, most Vampires can't stand the sun, at any rate.
Werewolves and other Werecreatures exist, but generally stay out of cities for whatever reasons, i.e. I don't really want to flesh them out right now.
Extraplanar/demonic stuff isn't present. It may have been at some time, but what ever barriers Scion put up blocks off everything.
So, with this in mind, I'd like to get some feedback on one, rather important thing:
The Masquerade. Should there be one? Maybe there was one in the past, but Superheros have dragged the entire thing into the light kicking and screaming? Or is it something that's teetering on the edge of failing, waiting only for something that can't be passed off as a parahuman power to shove it into the light? Something like an army of Nazi Vampires invading London?
Some more thoughts on adding urban fantasy stuff to Worm:
Mages- Generally work on Master apprentice system. Average streetmage are functionally a mid level blaster, capable of throwing around fire and electricity, maybe some minor TK. The better ones can manage more esoteric stuff, buffing themselves and others, creating enchantments and other esoteric things, and are generally enormously valued in whatever organization they end up working for.
Myrddin is something of a special case; he's not actually Merlin, but he does have Merlin's memories. Basically, Merlin figured out a ritual to transfer all of his memories to his apprentice, who did the same with his apprentice, and so on and so forth. He's accrued enough tricks that he's on the same general tier as the Triumvirate, though he'd probably lose in a fight with Eidolen, because Eidolen is broken as all fuck.
Vampires- Doing a little mixing and matching here. Vampires tend to have Generational limits on how strong they can get, and generally speaking, only First, second and third are competitive with higher end capes. First Generation are spontaneous Vampires like Alucard, and don't have a sire. They don't necessarily start out that powerful, but their growth potential is unlimited, or close enough that the difference is academic. There's a strict upper limit on the number of them- at any given time, there's never more then 7. When one dies, sooner or later another will be born when someone with suitably impressive accomplishments and/or destiny who is currently bleeding out is offered the blood.
Turning isn't exactly a sure thing, and why the ancient world was never overrun by legions of vampires (well, that and various groups of mages doing some work behind the scenes). Generally, the stronger the Vampire, the more chance of something going wrong with a turning is. What goes wrong can range from ending up a ghoul to a psychotic break.
Secrecy- Masquerade broke in the late 90s with what the media dubbed the "Vampire Jonestown", when a 3rd generation Vampire attempted to use ritual blood magic (note: Vampire magic =/ Human magic) to turn himself into a 2nd generation via mass human sacrifice. He was foiled, but hundreds still died and an expose by a particularly intrepid reporter dragged the entire matter into the light. This was actually part of a Cauldron plan; they wanted the matter public so as to maximize the number of supernatural combatants at Endbringer fights.
Early 2000s saw the matter of Vampire citizenship make it to the supreme court, and they were recognized as having rights, albeit limited ones: they need human blood to survive, which has obvious issues, even if it's possible to drink blood without killing the "Donor". All Local PRT directors have the authority to issue kill orders on any Vampire if they have reason to believe that the vamp is killing or otherwise taking blood by force. Enforcement varies; several Directors are perfectly willing to look the other way if the local Vigilante keeps bringing in gangbangers with two puncture marks at the neck and a slight case of anemia. Others take a decidedly stricter view.
At the same time, the number of mages has been rising rapidly with the break of the Masquerade, to the point that most branches of the Protectorate have at least one practitioner. As they don't have quite the same neuroses of Parahumans this has helped the general situation of the world, at least somewhat, though the Warlocks seeking ULTIMATE POWAH! offset some of the gains. Still, at this point there's about one mage for every ten parahumans, and as they get better at finding potentials and training them, that ratio will grow smaller.
Thoughts are welcome, as always.
That was the plan- Parahumans can become Vampires or Mages, and Mages and Vampires can trigger. It's fairly rare, but it can happen. Only separation is with Mages and Vampires who use different types of magic that don't play well with each other.Sounds interesting. However, have you considered mixing power sources? By which I mean, can a vampire or a mage trigger, or could a parahuman be turned into a vampire or learn magic? Or are parahuman powers and magic, whether it be vampire or human, just incompatible?
My current idea for a plot actually hinges on it- idea was that Lung fight goes bad, and Taylor ends up becoming a First Gen Vamp after getting thrown off a building and left to bleed out (The Yangban managed to kill one a month or two ago). Gives her a lot of potential, but also a lot of issues, as quite a few people would like to either kill or entomb her before she becomes a threat, and the primary way for her to grow more powerful requires eating people.
In all honesty, I'm not really that familiar with Castlevania, and I was planning on doing a direct crossover with Hellsing later on, with Taylor fighting in the battle of London when the Major shows up with his Zepplins.I realize that over 99% of the time that someone on SB or SV refers to a character named Alucard, they're referring to the Hellsing one, but you could go full Castlevania with it instead. The big Drac isn't so much a vampire as a scary-high-tier demon lord. He keeps resurrecting on Earth becausethere will always be evilof the planar wall you mentioned earlier. The association with vampires is a product of his M.O., fashion sense, and ability to turn human thralls into first-gen vamps regardless of the natural limit.
This should also allow for half-vamps like CV!Alucard, who isn't nearly as entertaining as HS!Alucard but makes up for it by being a genuinely good guy. Earth Bet has a critical shortage of those by design and any improvement is worthwhile.
Precisely. This isn't a WoD crossover, even if I'm lifting quite a few concepts from it. People are aware of Magic, there isn't anything like Paradox here.I take it these are elements of the WoD but not the full features?
As mages in the WoD suffer paradox's when preforming magic in the presence of Sleepers(normals).
Kinda hard to fight Endbringer's when your magic keeps pumping out abyssal creatures or reorganizing the cities geography.
I'm generally assuming the Vampires just kept their heads down initially- anything that old is probably going to be fairly conservative. Some of the younger and less established ones tried the whole Supervillain thing, with varying results. Mages were a little more proactive in looking into the phenomenon, and many are more than a little concerned with whats going on, but hey, at least the barriers Scion put up are keeping out all the Gribblies, right?Love vampire Taylor!
I do wonder how the local Mage Association or Vampire Cult felt about these "Parahuman's" that have suddenly started appearing. Which leads me to the thought of Alexandria in an aerial battle with a 1st Gen Vampire.....
Which leads to the idea of a Warlock challenging Scion to do battle....
Which leads me to think of the Endbringers fighting off minor demons or spirits from the 5th dimension or something.....
As for Alexandria fighting Vamps, she's certainly done so, though I'm not sure if she's encountered a First Generation; currently thinking that there aren't any in America prior to Taylor. Plan at the moment is that two have been successfully entombed, two are warlords in the third world(Currently thinking Colombia and Nigeria), one is currently being as hedonistic as possible in Paris, and the last two are Alucard and Taylor, who's replacing one recently killed by the Yangban.
Scion's dimensional barriers are keeping out all the gribblies. Now, if he dies...well, interesting things may happen.1.) Cauldron must be running no-stop trying to stop all these major disasters from happening ("Goddamn it Contessa! The Slither from the Dimension of Darkness is back! No, I don't have the skull with me! Because Alexandria said it's creep- Oh, never mind, Number Man just blinded it with Silver Daggers.")
2.) Yeah, I'm sure quite a few of the younger Mages and Vamps tried there hand at villainy. But what about the Vampiric Heroes? How are they generally treated?
3.) Also I still think more than a few groups and cults (Vampire or Otherwise) would try to kill/enslave/or eat the big guy. They'd fail, but it'd undoubtedly happen eventually (barring Cauldron)
4.) How does the cycle function in this AU?
5.) If you make this a thing I would gladly help you any time!
I'm thinking there are a few Vampires in the Protectorate and active as independents, but most try to hide their Vampiric nature, especially the ones who started out as Parahumans and were turned against their will. A few openly Vampiric Heroes and Vigilantes have achieved local popularity, but the public is generally distrustful of Vampires in general, in large part because of the last half dozen times a Vampire achieved national celebrity status, half were discovered hypnotising people for blood and were subsequently either executed or birdcaged (haven't decided particulars yet).
Cauldron generally swats the people trying to gank Scion as most of them don't have a chance in hell, and they really don't want to set him off until they're good and ready.
Cauldron may have a supporting role in Artificial Vamps, but most of it's on the Doktor. Might have been a few Cauldron vials involved in the various officers though. Will you be using that snippet of mine that was basically this situation happening?
Anyway, the idea is very interesting.
Some considerations:
1) Artificial vampires. Will it be Cauldron who is producing them? Will they be made at all? Or will the Major find something interesting to fight against? I am reminded of this. Fighting against Endbringers could be quite a challenge, after all.
2) Parallel universes and vampiric numbers. I.e. are there vampires on Aleph and how does "no more than 7 first gens at a time" mesh with it? And how does Cauldron's acquisition method factor into it? Do they take in (only) vampires from different worlds?
3) Familiars and power growth. One of the biggest powers of Hellsing vampires (at least of Alucard and, later Seras) is to take memories, powers and, essentially, souls of people (and beings) whose blood they drink, including that of other vampires. I assume that second gen vampires in this will only have a limited number of familiars, and third gens couldn't do this trick at all. The question, however, remains on the topic of how this relates to parahumans. Would it mean that, essentially, any first gen vampire is Glastig Uaine, only more broken?
3b) Speaking of, if "eat people to gain their memories / powers" is implemented in any way, there are some societal things that need handling:
a) Volunteers. Say, old or terminally ill scientists and artists and such who want their knowledge preserved
b) Endbringer fights. Waivers maybe, for people to sign if they consent to be subsumed by a vampire (in the case of second gens, at least, they seem to retain at least some independence / personality, as shown by Pip) so they could fight on?
Hadn't even though about the Parallel Universes thing. Not sure how to exactly handle that, though Cauldron may have a ancient Vampire in it's basement along with it's dead god.
Current thought is that Familiars are limited to Alucard and Seras, and are a direct result of the Hellsing organization conducting all sorts of crazy mad science/magic on him to turn Alucard into a supernatural superweapon. Other First Generation Vamps certainly grow stronger as they eat people, and may manifest abilities of parahumans they eat to some degree, but they can't summon up entire armies from nothing. Would be kind of hard to explain why they aren't running the World if they could all do that.
Miracle (Wo)Man Taylor? That, I can get behind. Who would the other reincarnated gods be? Circus would make for a good Mad Harriet. Harmonious Crane for Granny Goodness? Aegis in place of Barda? Anyway, I'm just spitballing these, but seriously cool idea.Maybe this world is another planet's Hell.
— Aldous Huxley, as quoted in Peter's Quotations: Ideas for Our TimeThere came a time when the old gods died! The brave died with the cunning! The noble perished, locked in battle with unleashed evil! It was the last day for them!
— Jack Kerby, The New Gods #1Scott Free and his wife Big Barda were an unlikely pair. She was a native of Apokolips. A ferocious warrior, one of the elite Female Furies, groomed as the successor of Grannie Goodness. Kindness, mercy, and love were things she was raised to despise. He born on Genesis but, as part of an exchange of royal heirs that guaranteed neither world would attack the other, was raised by the galactic tyrant Darkseid... well, technically raised by him. In reality he was raised in the Terror Orphanages of Apokolips with no knowledge of his heritage. For all suffered equally under Darkseid. Scott was no warrior. Merely an escape artist of unparalleled skill; "Mister Miracle". As he matured, Scott Free rebelled against the totalitarian ideology of Apokolips, and something in his nature caught the eye of Barda, inspired her to forsake Apokolips for a life of freedom.
The two would wed. They would have many adventures. In time, they would have a daughter: Avia.
In time their family, and their allies on Genesis and Apokolips alike, would battle to finally overthrow the tyrant Darkseid...
And then they all died, because all things end — even the New Gods.
Daniel Hebert and his wife Annette Rose were an unlikely pair. She was a moderately well-to-do daughter of a professional couple who had Annette's future planned out. Intelligent and charming, she would be a top-tier lawyer. In time she would marry well and have a family, but only after securing her professional career. He was the son of a brute of a dockworker, scraping through college on a lifetime of part-time jobs and hard manual labor. As he matured, Danny rebelled against the anti-intellectualism of his father, and became the first person in the Hebert family to attend college. Something about his nature caught the eye of Annette, inspired her to rebel against her parents for the sake of a career that she would actually enjoy.
The two would wed. They would have many close-calls with bills and mortgage payments. In (little) time, they would have a daughter: Taylor.
And then Annette died, because that's what mortals do.
Daniel Hebert was devastated, and there would be no real escape from his grief. His daughter at least had the comfort of her longtime best friend... until that was snatched away. As the years wore onward, Taylor Hebert began to live a half-life. An anti-life. And just when there was an inkling things might be getting better... that was snatched away too. But Taylor Hebert is her father's daughter, and not just in this lifetime. Trapped in that suffocating fetid locker, in that moment a hell the equal of any armaghetto on Apokolips, it suddenly occurs to Taylor Hebert how to pick the lock from the inside.
Yet awakening to her heritage might not be the best development, given the ripples this one act — this first awakening — will create. Because the Frees/Heberts weren't the only gods reborn on Earth Bet, and death is merely an intermission in a war amongst gods.
Vanilla!Anderson or Nail of Helena!Anderson? So, I was watching Hellsing Ultimate recently and I had to wonder, what threat level do you think Monster of God!Anderson would have?
Vanilla!Anderson or Nail of Helena!Anderson?
Vanilla is probably a mid-tier Brute due to his high regeneration and moderate strength but what makes him dangerous in the series is his zeal. While regeneration is his only power, his drive, madness and determination to gut you like a fish is what makes him really scary. Nail of Helena!Anderson is an Echidna event.
