They're up again!?

Yeeeeeeee-(incomprehensible fangirl squeeing)

I'm quite excited really. Just the American and Japanese trees alone should be fun to explore, though unlike a lot of people I don't particularly mind blueprint/proposal only ships.

Still, I fucking love boats, definitely going to try and get onto the beta.

The glorious IJN torpedo doctrine lives again!

How does Carrier vs Non-Carrier balance work? I heard it was hugely different than Artillery which I personally never minded but apparently it's like a law that at least one person must whine about it every day on the WG forums?

Carriers are really strong atm and probably need some balancing. For all non-CV ships you play in this third person mode and can switch to a first person aiming mode similar to zooming in down your sights in WoT. For these ships the game is all about maneuver and predicting enemy movements to land your shots(and torpedoes).

Carriers play in an overhead mode similar to an RTS. Here's a video from the last beta weekend.

Not the most visually exciting gameplay but certainly it seems that carriers have a very commanding presence.

Looks like they've stopped taking applications already.

That or they're just not accepting people with EU accounts :|

That overhead view is accessible from non-CV ships. I'm pretty sure that you can switch to 3rd person for a CV, since some CVs actually have guns that require aiming, it's just that the overhead view is default for CVs, and where you're going to be spending a lot of time in.

Jeez, second day and I already have a Tier IV battleship. I haven't even played that much! Maybe three hours total, two or three matches in the Kawachi, at that! :o

EDIT: Also, PSA for DD players - never fire torps in a stern chase. There's enough space between them for my Battleship to evade. :V

First thoughts mainly involve *squee!* and 'Yay!'

I submitted an application, now I just have to hope I can get in.

*refreshes email again*

I have a Chester. It has cannons.
I am a Cruiser Captain, feel my wrath.

Ahhhh I was wondering if there was an SV WoWS thread. Anyways, I have a Wilkes, St Lou, Chikuma and...Jap Tier 2 DD. (lol what are names)

This game is so fun. Much better than WoT and I'm having a blast. In addition the game is fucking gorgeous. Now if I could just figure out how to hide my HUD after I'm dead.

Time to bring ALL of the Arpeggio of Blue Steel and Kantai Collection references!!!!

I have a Kawachi.
I like my Kawachi.
It makes ships go boom.

Heh. I was wondering when the shipgirl jokes were going to get made.

Remember to take care of your shipfu when playing.

Burning and crippled, with only a sliver of health left, I rammed an enemy spotless, untouched Kongo with my Kawachi.
Mutual death and I got the kill.
