World of Chaos - Fantasy Crossover NRP

@Altzek
I think I could take you under my wing since I know a bit about Dune.

@Altzek
Been a while but how common was Weirding Way for the Fremen during the Jihad?
I remember it being casually taught to Paul and read notions of it being widespread for Jihadists.
Because to me a bunch of teleportiong borderline precognitive kung fu masters is a good reason why Fremen are so OP compared to others or beat the Sardukar.

There may be an issue with the translation in Italian, but I don't remember anything like that, especially of that name. I even checked the glossary at the end of the first book, I remember nothing. I remember prana-bindu, which is a Bene Gesserit tactic Jessica teaches to Paul, which presumably includes total muscular control, but that's it. Can you tell me the page where it's mentioned?

A google search tells me that it's how the Fremen refer to the prana-bindu art and all things related to the Bene Gesserit. Also according to wikipedia and the Dune wiki, a principle of total mind and body controlled combined with the principle "my mind affects my reality" allowed for individuals to move at almost unimaginable speeds, essentially seeming to teleport by "knowing" themselves to be behind the enemy during a fight, for instance, would allow them to almost instantly be behind the enemy. This was taught to the Fremen and apparently became a very important aspect of their hand to hand fighting style in the Muad'dib Jihad.

Yes, I gave a look at the Dune wiki, and it's also mentioned in the Dune Encyclopedia, but I really can't find it in the books. Could be a case of bad translation. I guess it exists, but I have no idea of what's it's referring to and the last time I re-read the book was maybe two or three months ago. I continued all the way to 1/4th of Children of Dune, but then I stopped.
I'm just not that good at remembering these details, hell I never even managed (or tried) to learn the litany against fear :rofl:

Still waiting for someone to point me at the page where it's mentioned.

I can't list a page number (ebook), but a little over halfway through the book, when Stilgar is offering Jessica sanctuary, he tells her to teach them the "weirding way" in exchange for sanctuary. Also in my glossary Weirding Way isn't in there, but Weirding is, as describing things that are mystical or of witchcraft.

I think I found it. Pages 263-264-265.
Stilgar is about to unsheathe a knife or a gun or some kind of weapon and Jessica moved herself quickly enough to find herself behind Stilgar before he's done. She orders him to order his men to stop chasing Paul. Some other stuff happens, but Stilgar refers to what appears to be a simple quick sequence of movements as "arte magica del combattimento" ("magic art of fighting"), which is quite generic and appropriate for people who call the Bene Gesserit "witches". The Italian version of "Weirding Way" could be "Via Estraniante", but it isn't mentioned. I can only suppose Jessica makes herself useful by teaching Stilgar and the people of Sietch Tabr this "magic art of fighting", but I don't see anything particularly supernatural in it.

It's probably further fleshed out in later books, the place where the first axiom of Prana-Bindu as "My mind controls my reality" is discussed is like chapter 23 of Children of Dune.

The game does look quite interesting, but I'm not sure if you have space for new players, or if I have the time at the moment to be a part.

So, apparently, spice withdrawal for addicts is a pretty serious issue leading to insanity and then death, and it can't be overcome, especially not like a simple addiction to nicotine or other drugs.

Do you plan to allow some kind of very occasional chance to temporarily communicate with the main universe, @willyvereb ?
I don't think I'm going to find sandworms or sandtrouts here...

I'd allow it, maybe even a permanent portal if you put research into creating one.

Willyvereb, are you familiar with WarmaHordes? Would it help if I sort of fleshed out the setting more for you to base future threats and the like off of?

Well, you can do that but I delegated that area to @Mental Omega
Sorry, the Game Tracker was supposed to be up to date and show which player is under which GM. I technically tried to edit the page but as luck would have it the browser crashed both times.
Then for some reason I assumed I actually did done that.
Oh well, third time's the charm and now the list is shinier than ever.
:D

Following munchkinomatic's example can I ask everyone to give me a two colors they wish to represent their factions with?
I'll include these in my next map update once everyone is done with their indtroductions.

For example Red with Blue borders.
Coloring the text is the most important because I'll copy-paste the color code straigth into Photoshop and then use the exact same colors on the map. So yeah, never forget it.
