Thoughts and decisions of Asuka Langley Soryu
Asuka Soryu as a whole would be described as arrogant, bossy, and of course a know it all by those who worked for Nerve Germany, and for the most part they would be right...but not for the reasons they think of...
She was intelligent and knew it...considering she had graduated at the third hardest college in Germany (she could not graduate at the hardest due to her need to be a pilot for her EVA). She had actually at one point taken the intellect test and rated high enough to be considered as a genius. Also due to her father actually being the commander (not that he amounted to anything since her mother died) she had much more leeway in how she acted, but considering her entire life had the EVA involved it could be forgiven if she kept it close to her heart and despised anyone who so much as scratched her reputation as a pilot (and considering she was captain in the air-force, such mutters were kept to mostly small groups and just out of her hearing range unless the suspect would be found beaten conveniently unconscious by irate European air force pilots who had taken a shine to the young girl).
Her Bossy attitude was mostly due to her time as a captain and the need to prove herself worthy of the honor to her soldiers in the air force…unfortunately most of her time besides some short flights were spent as a pilot for the EVA, and if anyone told you the that there were similarities you will end up with a three hour rant on how the differences from G-forces in a EVA and a fighter craft were completely different and how she resented those morons in Germany Nerve.
But nevertheless, she was a proud pilot of Germany, and with her genius she had graduated college on the crusp of puberty...
The internal rant cut short as Asuka while watching the Feed about the fight between the "Third Child" (dumb idoits and their dumb names) and the third angel (it looked NOTHING like a angel, and was nowhere near as holy by her concern...if anything it looked like one of those giant monsters from old movies running around destroying everything), She winced again as she tried to desperately keep those old memories about boys older then her by at least 3-4 years tried to hit on her despite the age gap...and most of the time? she was glad she had military training as it allowed her to beat them senseless if they got any closer or tried any grabs. Considering Kaji who was at most polite and possibly one of the few people she considered on her good list (besides her pilots in the air force of course!) compare to the boys at home is it honestly a wonder if she preferred older men then the idoits running around?
Of course she knew her crush wasn't amount to much besides admiration, and mostly did it out of boredom or to try and mess with him (and sometimes he turned it back on her by acting like a parent...HA!), But those thoughts could wait! Her pride was on the line because at the moment, ever since she had been forced to do a hard landing because of the "HOLY-SHIT-THE-FUCKING-GIANT-MONSTER-TALKED!!!" moment across the world had almost caused her squadron to die from the sheer NOISE that the thing had managed to unleash in their own damn radio's!!!
How that was possible would be for another time for her to figure out, because as far as she could gather, this newbie was NEVER trained as a pilot, never had military training, and for god's sake never even worked with a EVA before.
And walked like a complete Master, like what she and her pilots had been forced to endure that one time when one of her rookies tried to rib on the special forces branch when they were in the same mess hall. Those poor cooks were still trying to clean the damn place, and she had heard rumors that the moron was hiding under his head every night (as well as had placed as many traps as possible because holy hell she never knew the human body could BEND those ways and not break!!!).
But still, she continued to analyze the fighting style and the movements of the pilot in the giant cyborg, and frankly? The movements were to clean, to precise, as if the pilot had done all this before. Not to mention completely destroying the Angel before it really got the chance to unleash any little tricks it could have done. Frankly it was almost as if she had been watching a final showdown all this time rather then a short fight.
She sighed as she played the damn video for the hundredth time analyzing every bit of information she could to either A) prove that this was fabricated by morons in Nerve Center Japan...B) that they had a secret pilot all this damn time and didn't tell her (she was one of the damn best, she knew because she did keep track of not only synchronization scores, but also how well they could receive pain and endure it while piloting. The only one who had more hours then her and experience would be the pilot of the test prototype.) The final one actually scared her a small bit, as option C) This was the Boy/Man's first time, and is a damn natural at it.
Frankly if it was the first she would enjoy first instilling the proper pecking order that her time in the military instilled, and then show him the ropes because no damage to the city? either they are good builders (unlikely as physics would rather instill its opinion despite giant monsters and bullshit there should be more damage then what's on the screen!), For option B it would be more akin to feeling out the person, if they are decent she would share the position until a proper pecking order could be established between them. (with her credentials she was sure she would win in two month's least, a week at top). If it was the third option well she would have to deal with it for awhile until she could insure the damn rookie doesn't get them all killed because of some moronic fight or flight instincts.
Then again, she knew herself, so that might end up poorly if she couldn't work her magic insuring discipline is ready. Like say for example having to go to school and deal with boys and girls her age group again. Well the girls should at least be easily swayed with her looks and mind, if any of them decide to get nasty then she could really put what she learned in the military to good use for the boys however? Ugh, she had enough sappy love letters that had no real meaning and some of the more crass ones she burnt in front of them.
Again she got off topic, she must be needing sleep again...lets see...shit...
It was four hours past midnight AGAIN. Honestly she should be resting because who damn well knows where and when the next sucker is going to turn up (frankly if those things were to all be targeting one spot she would keep the EVA's within running distance as well as insuring proper supply stations for when the call is sent, hell sending the EVA's Across japan because god in heaven it seems all crazy shit tends to happen there doesn't it?!?). Before she could devest into the depths of EVA planning and strategy of spreading them across Japan until the damn conflict and all the fuckers were dead and then returning the super weapons back home could be finished Asuka perked up with a grin as she heard a very familiar voice call out from the doorway from the hangerbay where EVA 02 was kept.
[Asuka, I thought I would find you in here again] came Kaji's voice as he lit a cigarette in the dim-lit room amusement crossing his gaze as he KNEW what was coming again, the same old song and dance between the two, don't get him wrong Asuka would one day be a fine young women, but she was WAAAAYYY to young for him, and he really didn't want to give "HER" any ammunition when he met "HER" again. (he really didn't want to get shot in-between the legs, or lose anything else really!)
[Ah Kaji, here to profess your undying love for me?] Asuka played out as she stretched out on top of 02 playfully while the laptop sat off to the side with a power cord plugged into the nearby wall.
[If you mean by calling you my daughter then I am afraid the papers got lost again, sorry about that squirt!] Kaji called out much to Asuka's annoyance...this was different then the regular banter the two played something was really going to be different soon.
[Your not being fair you know, your supposed to compliment me while I try to flirt with you and then you are supposed to deflect it back and forth until one of us laughs!] Asuka ranted out with a flat stare at her "Guardian" for the time being she really didn't want to even think about him and his-well looks like Kaji is getting serious must be big news if he is giving THAT face before some particularly bad news comes out.
[Your being deployed in a month or so possibly sooner or later...but that's the time-frame.] Kaji called out as he crossed the room and began to climb up the ladder.
[What?! Are you sure? I mean bloody hell the third child seemed to be doing fine by this...] Asuka growled out before sighing and then continue her short rant [I mean don't get me damn wrong, but I should have been there! bloody hell we ALL should have been there! I even did the distribution network that would allow a EVA to change the least amount of stations and to get to reinforcing positions before the damn thing was supposed to land and it was thrown out because of the idoit head's clambering that the world isn't worth fucking treaties and such! I mean im a Pilot, I should be piloting not playing dress-up girl for the damn vultures!]

This rant would continue on for a few minutes as Kaji listened to the fire-cracker go off, it would take by his account a few more minutes...a half hour at most before she could finally let off the steam but more worrisome their little games weren't working as well as they used to when she was younger that "SHE" told him to do (but not ever touch or I will sick PENPEN on you pervert!!! were her exact words and the warks on the other end did not inspire confidence in his system of surviving whatever else was on the phone when he called ahead). She needed a REAL psychologist, or hell someone to help her get over her issues, and definitely not a spy hung up on the Truth of things and a old lost love.
As well as not a spy who had approached the third child, and had a shudder go up his spine because the look in the kids eyes? He had seen on some of the more deadly Special forces units where they specialize in making damn well sure their boys and girls couldn't break under pressure, whether by capture or by the worst that war can bring out
...because they broke them until they couldn't be broken anymore.
As it stood he would have to wait for another 5-10 minutes before Asuka could be calm enough to let out all the steam she had taken up during the two weeks since he had last seen her...
That bitch of a step-mother and her idoit of a father aside (kaji would always swear that Asuka's mother did a mad science experiment because how the ever living heck she allowed a scum like her husband actually touch her from what reports he had seen...and he would rather not have seen some of them damn his need for the truth.some of the things he had seen would have been enough to send the man to prison for life...the abuses of power had done as Nerve Germany Director would have been enough to jail him for good if he wasn't a effective administrator for that branch...and Nerve and the UN needed that branch...for now.) Asuka had very few she could call friends or even help her decompress, she needed a firm but fair damn hand who could do so.
"SHE" might have been able to do so if she wasn't so damn hurt by what happened when she was younger, and damn himself for letting her get away...the only others he could even think of were either too afraid of helping a EVA pilot (damn the UN for not prioritizing the kids needs, bloody hell this is a mess in the making, they had no idea if those things had mind fuckery powers or not but sending kids into the combat zone? If this had happened before impact there would have been a damn riot!). or were being blackmailed to list those pilots as stable when they clearly weren't! case in point one Mari...he really didn't want to be around that girl...Asuka may play around trying to act older...but that girl would either flirt or cause a mass disaster wherever she damn well goes! Thank the heavens that he never had to babysit that girl for more then a week or two...
But it seemed that asuka was finally running out of steam, now was time for the real briefing he could give...at least then she wouldn't put up a damn fight for having to deal with the navy, especially the American navy who had a very large competitive nature with the air force…considering the invention of the aircraft carrier it only caused shit to really go down the drain.
Still at least she would be prepared, and not say wear a damn summer dress in the middle of a aircraft carrier without some damn shorts...unless she was trying to impress a boy or something.
He really didn't want to talk about the birds and the bees with her...even if she figured it out during her time in college and when she was having puberty. Especially since he would be contract obligated to do so if she found someone attractive and started dating them...damn UN and their administrational paperwork!!! (he really hoped they would dump asuka on "HER" before that crap happened...because he had no intentions of going through that crap this early on in his life!)

so I tried to keep asuka as a proud EVA and air force pilot...added some shenanigans that seem to happen In this quest, added some time and banter between her and kaji as well as intellectual understanding on her feelings with him. as well as showing she really needs some real stress relief besides someone being there to listen to her rant every two weeks.
also Asuka's dad is scum, and so is the step-mother....definitely not parents of the year material. (especially since asuka's dad remarried his mistress after asuka's mom died...frankly that alone is scum-bag move, but to do so and not try to help a daughter that has obviously been traumatized by her mothers death?!? definite scumbag move)
