I think I'll close the vote here.

Actually, I'll leave it open a little while longer.

Explore has a big lead over Go Home, and Scholar a small one over Military Brat.

Hey! New guy here! This looks like a pretty cool quest! I'm really looking forward to seeing how it will turn out!

I am saddened that people did not desire to play as the military brat. However, I am yet still willing to stick along for the ride. So long as there is no lewdity!

@Moonfeather

I have to ask how canon is Nextwave for this quest?

Um. I hadn't actually remembered to much about them, I did remember seeing the cover for the civil war comic awhile back. I'm not sure if I read it.

Anyway anything is plausible to show up in this quest, just not the way you'd expect.
This quest will be during the beginning of modern age of heroes -the Avengers, Justice League etc. This doesn't mean these heroes didn't exist before this time though. I'd liken it to the creation of a new universe.

I just had to ask because what actually happened in Nextwave is super up in the air in canon, because reality warping might have been involved and no one is sure what's real or not.

Rorkannu will sell you the service of Mindless Ones, Dormammu's minions, for one hundred American dollars.

Honorable mentions include evil devil dinosaur, State 51, broccoli men, and the best director ever.

Hey @Moonfeather, could you give us some more examples of what we can do with our different types of magic? It would help us know a little better how badly we need to level some of our other skills.

Honestly, not sure. Look at the skills listed. You have high magic capability and energy to perform spells, but low endurance causing you to burn out quickly. Your luck is also very low and that may cause spells or situations to backfire on you frequently. Everything else should be self-explanatory.

so we need to train our endurance and luck.

I'm confused. You're the one that made the division into the different types of magic, right? Us not knowing what our magic, the entire focus of the class that we picked, is capable of doing is a pretty big problem in my view.
maybe he is still working out the kinks in the quest system vs his idea. It's harder than you would think.

Sounds to me like we need to do long, drawn-out, intricate rituals involving circles and interlocking patterns that allow us to channel our power through something much more durable than us.

Edit: we did end up going the scholar route, after all. A magic workshop should be right up our alley.

We could always go the Doctor Doom route. Be a scientist and sorceress.

I was thinking more along the lines of becoming the minion-maker. That should reduce the physical strain on us and make sure any unlucky happenings affect whoever we rent them out to, rather than us directly.
Minion-Maker? What do you mean by that? Summoning? Golem Creation? Or, Go Forbid, Flesh Weaving? There are several kinds of magical minions after all.

If we sell minions, we might as well just go full Power Broker, and figure out how to give people powers.

Have you looked at the character sheet?
