Name: The Artillerist
Appearance: A freakishly tall person, whose entire face is covered by a metal mask, giant sunglasses placed over eye sockets. They are never seen without either of those... and a cowboy hat. They apparently love it.

Description: They do not talk. The only time they communicate is when they need something, and the only way they do that is in gestures. Outside of jobs, they keep to themselves and avoid company, tinkering with tech or reading. No one knows their name. The one thing that allows to identify them is the old, worn, but clearly recognizable uniform of Core Fleet's gunnery officer.

Job: Guns. Artillerist is obsessed with constantly improving the colony's arsenal and spends most of their time upgrading and crafting weapons. (Combat 1, Operations 1)
Shadows assigns job proficiencies based on the job description.
 
Yeah @Estro I'll throw up my character I created as an example (of almost too detailed) and then pick someone else as a 'minimum detail' example.

Name: Kayla Futhark
Gender: Female
Appearance (1 paragraph or less): 6'1 Tall woman of undeterminable ethnicity, features judged beautiful by the vast majority of humans, though able to be altered with great ease using minimal equipment to disguise appearance. Physically one of the fittest people around wherever she is. Only three things stand out as strange about her. Her naturally violet hair, usually cut to shoulder length, her bright silver eyes, and her seeming naivety about any and everything...
Description (1 paragraph or less): Created as an illegal genetic engineering experiment into creating a better human being, she was meant to be smarter, stronger, better, and more attractive. Initial testing proved that intelligence was in the highest .01% of humanity, with all physical capabilities likewise. However, further testing showed that whilst the combat and research capabilities where all that was hoped for... espionage capabilities were a complete failure. She was perfect at the stealth and social aspects, but something had seemed to go wrong with the ability to be deceitful, so much so that when in simulations to test her, she usually ended helping them seal security breaches rather than exploiting them. The lab was raided by legal authorities just before a decision on what to do with her was reached, and she ended up in the hands of the government. Medical testing showed that although she had been genetically engineered more than was legal, she was within the legal genetic modification range for a homo sapiens, thus causing her to fall into a legally grey zone of being an illegal genetic experiment, whilst possessing all the rights of a human being. She decided to make a break from the controversy by going to a Wildspace colony where no one would be bothered by what she was.
Job (this helps determine your character's starting Bonus): Genetic Engineering Experiment into creating the 'perfect' human being. Combat Skill Uploads testing: Completed with perfect scores, Combat Skills field test: Perfect success. Scientific Skill Uploads testing: Perfect Success. Scientific Skills practical testing: New research generated, and proven true, rated as perfect success by testing criteria. Espionage Skill Uploads testing: Near-Perfect Success with minor variation judged harmless. Espionage Skills field testing: 2/3 Criteria Perfect Success, remaining Criteria complete failure. Espionage Skills Field Test following retraining: 2/3 Criteria Perfect Success, remaining Criteria complete failure. Operations Skill Uploads testing: discontinued due to Experiment failing previous test criteria. (Combat 1, Research 1)

Name: Evern
Appearance: A young man in his early twenties. Slightly tanned, dark haired and dark eyed.
Description: A soldier in training kicked out before commission due to getting into a fight with a superior. Colonization offered new opportunities; so Evern found himself on a spaceship weeks later.
Job: Soldier. Amenable to pick up other skills with practice. (Combat 1)

One thing to keep in mind is that you don't write the bolded part in the 'Job' bit, Shadows adds that in when she accepts your character. It's based on what you wrote for the job you had for the character, and comes in four categories. Combat, Espionage, Operations and R&D. I think you can start with a single job listed at skill 2, though I'm not sure, but it's usually either a single job or two jobs at skill 1 each.

You can see the first page for more information, but a general idea of each skill is Combat is any form of fighting, Espionage is any form of information gathering, R&D is 'scientific' tasks such as research/design or medicine, and Operations is construction/production.
 
Name: Amano Yukiteru
Appearance: A short young man with dark hair and a vaguely Asian appearance, Yukiteru is always seen dressed in heavy clothing, due to being bought up in a space station with faulty radiators. He has exo leg braces to support his frail bones, the result of a childhood in space.
Description:
Yukiteru was born in a small "tin can" habitat, a zero gee space station like a larger ISS. As such he instinctively knows how microgravity effects the world, at the cost of being rather clumsy on planets and most space stations that can afford being spun for gravity. This allows him to have a masterful understanding of the principles of low gravity design, graduating with a mastery one year earlier from his university.
Job: Architect/civil engineer, specialising in zero gee projects.
