Why Did I Have To Be Isekai'd By A Novice Goddess?

Why Is It Always Goblins?
And, with everyone voting to avoid the potential conflict...

You decide that caution is the better part of valor, or however that went, and hover up and away from the bush, and head back on your mission towards the monastery. It isn't too much longer before you arrive, finding it surprisingly empty, as a few bees start swarming around you already from the nearby box hives, ineffectually starting to try to sting you. You note that a few of the boxes have been destroyed, their hives presumably scattered or dead.

Heading a bit further in, not feeling any danger, you finally find a monk... well, who you assume is a monk, he has the robes, but his hair doesn't have the circular ring style, whatever it's called.

"I, uh... hello, don't normally see you lot too far from the center... mainly because of the bees." He says, noting the swarm that's gathered around you by now, trying to sting your insubstantial form.

You inform him you're there to ask about the shipments, and he winces slightly, but nods.

"Those... might be a bit. We've been getting raided by goblins lately, mostly rummaging for our food and our other supplies... the others have gone off either to get an adventuring party, which will probably be tough with the demons approaching, or to take the cows away so the goblins won't kill more of them for food. There's only about six of them, but, uh, we're not exactly fighters." He says, seeming oddly nervous around you, as you wonder why, before realizing he probably expected you to come here to curse him for failing on the delivery.

You ponder the situation, and your new nature, asking him about how goblins are, and he's pleasantly surprised you're not immediately turning his toenails inside out, or whatever annoyed fae do. He explains that they're generally not all that intelligent, easily drawn to shiny things and food, which is why most places in the woods don't use metals in construction, and due to their individual weakness, they generally don't travel alone, though usually in much bigger groups than just six.

Shiny things and food... well, you suppose you were sent here to figure out the situation if it didn't get you killed, and going by the bees, you have a pretty good feeling most nonmagical things are going to have a hard time injuring you... maybe you can figure something out? Either way, by the path going into the forest from whatever they dragged away from here, they probably won't be hard to find if you choose.

[] Go back to the market, you don't want to take the risk of dealing with goblins, you got the information you needed for someone else to sort it out.

[] Well, you're kind of a shiny thing yourself, now... and what better than a Will-o-Wisp to lure something into danger?

[] Write-in

Sorry for the wait! Next vote ends on the 22nd, at noon EST as usual.

[X] Well, you're kind of a shiny thing yourself, now... and what better than a Will-o-Wisp to lure something into danger?

[X] Write-in: Try to calm the bees by singing to them. If they stop seeing you as a threat and can be lured by you, they could be one of the traps to deal with the goblins.

[x] Scout the area, determine the lay of the land and locate an area to lure the goblins to their demise.

The bees are, rather obviously, not that great a threat to them if they can smash their boxes just fine. Unless they were repulsed by the agitated swarm perhap... but still not lethal.

Finding a place to lead them to their doom is a good first step I believe.

Huh, seems i forgot to actually press send on this.

The bees are not a guaranteed kill, true.
But they can still do damage.
And they can be a push factor (attack the goblins and making them evade/run away) to complement our wisps shininess pull (luring).

I'd say places to lead them to their doom are a good second step, something to do on the way to finding their camp (and after finding the camp if we fail to find good opportunities on the way).
The bees are here and we'd have to backtrack from the trap opportunity to get them later. (unless we get the monks to set actual traps)

The bees are also monk property, and what is utilized for making what our employer wants, so further damage to them when they are needed for more honey would damage the income.

We also aren't really an insect controller, so even if by singing we somehow managed to lure the bees to the goblins, we couldn't ensure they'd be rounded back up again and whatnot.

Also definitely not certain that we could even utilize the bees in that manner.

So yeah, bee plan is not great overall and I was being generous by pointing out they're not even a threat without going into further detail about what's wrong with it.
