One of the fun parts about Harime Nui is that in Japanese (I don't know if you're watching the dub or the sub), she shares her voice actress with *Takamachi Nanoha*. And apparently the VA *loved* voicing Nui...

Me and a friend noticed that when she first showed up and were like "Aw shit, it's Nanoha. Ya'll all fucked."

Evil Nanoha is a scary thing.

... why would you suggest anyone watch that?

Why?!?
If you like Kill la Kill, obviously you'll like any anime with women fighting in stupid slutty outfits, regardless of context. People only watch it for the fan service after all, suggesting that has anything more is just a way for insecure fans defend their taste.

But srsly now, Witchblade? Really?

I was bored and wanted to read his reactions to the crazy of Witchblade.
EDIT: But seriously he should review Hellsing or Hellsing Ultimate.

I'll take a poll for what to watch next after I post for the OVA. Although Choo has been doing her best to convince me to Utena. That eagerness has me worried.

Revolutionary Girl Utena is a 39 episode rollercoaster of mindfuckery, heartbreak, pure crack and awesome. Everyone should watch it. Everyone!

My otaku friend also told me that it was the NGE of Magical Girl anime, or PMMM before PMMM was a thing.

Also, sorry for the break in updates. I haven't had the time to go through a spell-check and I loath to leave spelling and grammar errors in a post if I can help it.

how about we set up an alternating pattern. start off with a series with some mind fuck, then do a series Alfa will have fun with, then another one with mind fuck then another fun one. it should keep him going.

Yes, please. I like this idea. This way I'll won't be a gibbering wreck by the end of semester.

Wasn't Utena the one that's a deconstruction of Magical Girls?
Ehhh. It's not a magical girl deconstruction in the sense that, say, Madoka is. I hesitate to call Utena a magical girl show at all, though it definitely has some of the elements of it.

Like Zak757 just said, Utena is a commentary on gender roles and identity, most notably through a deconstruction of the fairytale trope of active princes rescuing helpless damsels in distress.

And yes, Kunihiko Ikuhara worked on both, and the two shows have a lot of voice actors in common.

*surfing elephants*

Okay, now I know what you meant with "the elephant chapter". That was funny. I'll give it a watch as well.

This is the FINAL COUNTDOWN
Talking is not a free action.
This post was written, forgotten, remembered, spell-checked, neglected, then eaten only to be resurrected three days later.
Kill La Kill Ep23

- The battle to stop the signal continues!

- Hey! I asked that question first!

- I'd say that assessment of her intelligence stat is correct.

- I like how all her stats get maxed out with the uniform except for her intelligence stat.

- The animation for Ritsuko MkII's Dr. Octopus arms looked like they came out of a flash animation right there.

- More puns about the word "kyu." I seriously get the feeling that this show would be deeper and more hilarious if I knew more about Japanese culture and language.

- That shot of Nani Sore?! on Do No Evil's shoulder reminds me of something. The only problem is that I can't remember what.

- Okay, Night Terror being unhinged has gone from being very satisfying to making me worried about the cast's odds of survival.

- I love how they found ways to justify just about everything in the context of the show with the sole exception of the spotlights that appear out of nowhere.

- Have any of you ever played Hawken? It's an F2P on Steam. Anyway, if you have, you'll know what I mean when I say I was waiting for it to make a HRRRRRN noise. For everybody else it sounds similar to this:

- Errol Flynn is proud of you both Red Stripe, Glorious Leader.

- Did Glorious Leader just leave behind a sonic boom after taking that hit?

- Freak Show even leaves a rainbow behind when she flies.

- Urge... to make... jab... at SAO...and... dual wielding... must... resist.

- So it comes with anti-air defenses and drop pods, but does it have satellite TV?

- Well, yeah, 'The enemy gate is down' and all that. Distract the enemy and take the object. It was a good plan.

- Snot Balloon's metabolism is even faster than Minecraft guy's. I think his name is Steve?.

- Freak Show is worse than Ponce about her timing. Way worse, and far, far more disturbing.

- Alright I am back after a short sanity break. I used that time to grab a microwavable cheeseburger. They're pretty good.

- Is now really the time for a Hallelujah Light? Even if it did come with the hilarious warble opening?

- Viral's comments, you should listen to them Snot Balloon.

- Everybody... Time for a nonironic slow clap for the Elite Four, because that right there was badass.

- I see what they did there with the four monkeys theme.

- That entrance was completely necessary, Viral. Haven't you seen the rest of the show?

- Umm, what the hell is with that hand signal?

- Well, shit... give me a minute to pick my jaw up off the floor. That did not go as expected.

- Correction: It went exactly as planned but completely defied my expectations.

- The Heel Click of power is back with a lecture on how talking is not a free action.

- Do No Evil is still bigger.

- Well at least that hamster wheel isn't the one powering SB (circa May) or you'd really be screwed.

- THANK GOD FOR CONTEXT!

- THEY'VE GONE TO PLAID!!!

- We have liftoff!

- OBEY THE DAMN FOURTH WALL FOR ONCE NIGHT TERROR!!!

- Crap, that thing has arms again.

- Who's up for some war? I am, I am! But first, Alfred made tea.

- That metabolism, even Imouto is stupefied.

- Of course the credits you all kept telling me to watch would be hijacked by Night Terror. You bastards

- So Shades' whole purpose was to be eaten by Freak Show's newest dress... Why am I not surprised?

- That eye is more Satanic than Sauron's

- Hahaha so this time instead of running out of money they ran out of time? Somehow that's fitting for a studio of former Gainax employees.
