Suicide and Trauma as a weapon

"I can't do this," Lilith said, after meeting up with Anastasia again. "I can't. I know you two can't stand each other, but I can't. Please help me make it work. I can't anymore. I'm going to have to see the Lord Admiral, and… This is all going to be used against me. We need to figure out something, and for once I'm not going to take lead. You both care about me. Figure something out."

Lilith had brought Sarah and Anastasia to neutral ground, a place that she had chosen, far enough from the swarm that their conversation would at least resemble quietness, and at least exude the necessity of solitude. Though whether it was respected or not would remain to be seen. With the help of many of the Zerg she had them use light acids to clean polish and shine every inch of the Coffee Shop, the black and white linoleum was shiny, but sterile, and the leds she had salvaged and rigged were bathing everything in a blue unforgiving light. There were three coffee cups on the round table, and Lilith was pleading. "Please. Right now I'm just flitting back and forth, feeling the other one of you miserable or angry. There has to be a better way than a week on, a week off"

Varynna after the battle had been silent, but through the vox and shuttles there were communications. It had been two months, and a very sketchy two months at that. Lilith flitted back and forth between Kerrigan and Anastasia, trying her best to keep both happy, but making both miserable, for at least one week. She had embedded herself in these woman's lives, and realized the cold fear that if one of them got hurt, she'd lose something valuable, a part of herself.

"You could just stay with me." Ana chuckles, staring into the suddenly angry eyes of Kerrigan with a grim, fearless bemusement. The Queen growls with anger, "You-."

"Me what?" Anastasia can't help herself, poking a bear much like Lilith does constantly, "Me being better at caring for her? Me being better at loving her?" Three prods have Kerrigan about to pounce across the table.

"Hey stop." Lilith jumps in suddenly, "That's not fair, you're twice our… You're three times my age, and twice Kerrigan's. We're all figuring it out."

"You said you were sixty-six!" Kerrigan growled, turning to Lilith, now already upset, and her hackles rising.

There was a gulp, and Lilith coughed, "I was infested, forty-odd years ago, and was born… twenty-six years before that. So… I was. I just spent the majority of that… Unsequenced and unobserved." She gulped, "Not a lie, necessarily."

"Just another pretty truth." The Witch laughs, having turned to Lilith and listened to her speak. Kerrigan stands up suddenly, "This is just her playing a game." She barks at Ana, who returns a smug smile to the anger.

"This wasn't Anastasia's idea. It was mine." Also a pretty truth, while Ana had never directly suggested it, Lilith noticed that The Face spent her time suffering when she was away. Still, saying that wouldn't help. "I don't want us to move in together. That's fucking terrible, you'll kill each other. I just want to find what I have to do to get everyone a bit closer, so we can be in the same room sometimes without a swarm-wide catastrophe."

Then even quieter, more angry, "I want to walk into whatever Varynna plans or has me saying next confident she's not going to twist me or you two into knots and tear the swarm apart." She puts her head on the table, and her hands on it. "When I said figure something out, I meant, common ground. You have it, you both do, I'm not going to sit here and pull all of either your trauma out. You both would agree on most things."

Then with the side of her mouth frowning, and her hands as if she was balancing two things on a scale. "I think in general Ana tends to be a bit more political, and you a tad more violent. You both have amazing ideas. You're both willing to go to the ends of the earth for…" Saying me was probably not the right play right now, "people, and… honestly, you've both been dealt with an incredibly shit hand, you've both managed to find happiness afterwards, you're both strong, smart, funny. If we can't work together and this breaks, it's going to be catastrophic."

Anastasia looks at Lilith, "What are you doing? What are you trying to get here?"

With a look of disconcerted, aggravated agreement, Kerrigan hisses, "This was only going to end with my hand on her throat."

"I…" What was Lilith doing? What was the plan here, get them closer together so it'd be easier for them to needle and break each other. Try to somehow force them to feel less bad for the obvious bullshit that Lilith run. The kind of bullshit Lilith could only run because there were so few infested that she was the only option, and had played them against each other. She tried to remember the books she read. Tried to reach out to feelings, other people's feelings and try to understand what was going on. What she needed, and what they needed.

"Kerrigan most likely only agreed to this, because she respects loyalty above anything. Lilith had been murdered and murdered and murdered, never stopping until she healed. Then, when that happened , Lilith stayed past that. Everytime they were together, there was electric unbridled energy that was impossible to ignore. She has no idea what a healthy relationship looked like, and thought there was literally only one person capable of making her feel human. Now he's dead, and Lilith is the next best thing. She's so cold, like Lilith doesn't matter but when Ana is around she feels warm, and comforted."

"Anastasia agreed, because she knows in her heart that Lilith had different feelings for Kerrigan than her, but Ana also knew that she didn't have those feelings for her. The stability that she gave Lilith was important, she was her rock. As a witch she felt eternally unloved and incapable of receiving it. She also latched on because she was the only woman that she felt was capable of making her feel human. With their original time together, she also knew the hooks were in deep and that Lilith would have to rip out her own heart to let her go. She was Lilith's foundation, her hearth, warm hugs, and fun movies. She also knew how bad this would be for Lilith if Kerrigan became warm and comforting."

She didn't see the two faces. She didn't realise she was broadcasting her thoughts again.

So legitimately, what the fuck are you doing Lilith. She said in swarm space, unaware that all of her thoughts were on full display. You're the last person on the planet, you're not worthwhile stop fucking this up. She waved at her ear, trying to dismiss the thought. Some distracting drone No-one here loves you for you, they love you because you love everyone. You're last place so stop fucking this UP. She closed her eyes, rubbing them, I love them both, but it must feel so… unsatisfactory. I can't do it in the right way. Make it feel right.

"Lilith." A dual-voice pulls her out of the spiral, both Ana and Sarah looking at eachother with a mild surprise. Ana starts first, "You're being stupid. And that's fine, stop trying to make everything fit perfectly." Her voice is harsh, but that fire in her eyes is back, the rageful desire for Lilith.

If it's not perfect, if you're not perfect everyone will leave, you have to be perfect because you don't feel. "Yeah, yeah of course, you're right." Lilith says with a smile.

"Patronise me again." Ana growls, much like Sarah for a second, "And I'll get much angrier. You love both of us, that's good. Fine, but we don't love each-other." She shoots a glare at Kerrigan, "And that's also fine."

You didn't do it right! Say the words RIGHT. "That all makes sense, yeah." They're going to leave now you fucked it up it's all ruined you stupid fuck-up. "Yeah, of course. I was being silly." Fucking idiot Fucking idiot.

A taloned hand grabs Lilith's shoulder as Sarah stares, "Do you think I'd leave?!" Her voice is shot through with rage, "After all this? After everything?" There's a disbelief in her voice, "You-you." The Queen tries to get words together, trying to make it not just anger.

That's… That's not matching what you said, go back on the conversation replay it. No. No that's not what you said. "I don't… I don't understand." Not worth it, making everyone sad, not perfect. Pull-UP PULL-UP you can figure this out. "You'd never leave." Everyone would leave you, if there were other options.

"You idiot, you stupid idiot!" Sarah shouts, "You made me fall in love, and now this?!" Its hurt and angry, boiling like a cauldron. Frothing just beneath a skin of bare control.

"What is HAPPENING?!" Lilith says confused, What did I… Oh…" The meeting was a terrible idea. "This" is the meeting you fucking idiot, you could have just left things as they "Sorry, we can." Did you disconnect yourself properly? Did YOU disconnect yourself properly? Lilith looks at both of them, oh no, oh no, they know now, they know you're not perfect they KNOW. Run. No that's stupid, they're both smarter and faster.

"Mhmm," Ana happily chuckles, "I've always known this, Lilith. You don't have secrets from the Witch." Her look is less rageful now, more obsessive, more focused. Catching her love in the gaze and considering what to do with her.

I can't believe you disconnected the WRONG string. Every time. Not once have you fucked this up. "I… Don't." If Sarah thinks you can't trust her then you ne— Oh god you're on full display I can't believe you cut the wrong string. "I don't." I seriously don't know why you thought you could help anyone. "I uh." Idiot, Moron. "Yeah, I. Yeah."

"You're mumbling." Anastasia's voice seems to ripple into nothing, Stop mumbling, it invades Lilith's mind, settingling in just behind her spirit.

Right, yeah mumbling pretty truths rem— "Oh. Oh, yeah, guess that's why I talk all the time. Sorry, I didn't, that was just uh… Sometimes everyone gets a little self deprecating I think. It happens." She coughs, drinking her coffee. Staring directly at the table, burning a hole in it, trying not to look at either of them.

"You're adorable, you know?" Anastasia croons, a delicate hand forcing Lilith to face her, orange eyes alit with flame, "The idiosyncratic thoughts, the idea you lack perfection because of some inane half-century old idea of "society", the way panic is making your pupils shrink." Compliments and jabs alike as she strokes the other woman's jaw with her thumb.

"It's funny you think that I fell in love with your mask." The telepath points out, "The astro-telepath." Her smile is broad, turning a noble visage into something more feral. "I promised to be your rock, say yes if you remember." The demand is a soft one, but unyielding.

Lilith tries to mimic releasing tension. It's a sigh and unclench, that's all just a sigh and unclench. It doesn't come. They're both staring at her, Ana's blistering her heart, making it want to burst, and Kerrigan's so wounded making her want to protect. If she wanted to be manipulated she could run, but then… Then… everything would be worse. She could… What could she do.

Tell the truth, Lovey~

"I… I think… I'm really selfish." She says, "I didn't really realise it, then I didn't care, now I'm back in the swarm and I care, but I already hurt everyone. I keep thinking if I don't fix it, I'll never be happy. That people around me being unhappy is a failing on my part."

Ana smiles encouragingly, letting her hand fall to rest on Lilith's forearm, leaning slightly over the table to reach. Kerrigan's face is tighter, more angry.

"Lilith, my sweet Lilith." She finally breaks the facade of disinterest, practically melting into something dark and obsessive and locked on. "I promised to be your rock, didn't I?" A flare-up of emotion infects the Swarm, brazenly stated, thrown out into the world for all to see, for Lilith to feel. Love, lust, hate, anger, "I'll be everything you cannot, I'll hold you through the storms and winds of this universe." She promises so much, a dreadful, hopeful proclamation.

"Stop trying to be a pillar for me." Ana chuckles, "And rest on me instead." She pulls her hand away, but shifts her chair to allow space for someone else to approach. A thrown lure, a temptation for Lilith to follow, to be caught on. "All you have to do is lean, I'll take care of the rest."

Something gravelly, scratchy and low, muffled by static, clicks. It's voice Lilith's own, but deeper. Replaying a memory, a few:

"It's my work, of course you do!" Varynna has, somehow, made it from her seat to just behind Lilith noiselessly, hugging her from the front as she turns. "Apologies for being… clingy. I just get antsy before large battles." The Admiral admits, looking just overtop Lilith's shoulder at the sculpted image, her expression hidden from the other woman.

Her eyes narrow, scanning Varynna, carefully. Trying to see the trick, looking at layers beyond layers of a woman she's known for… maybe a total of two hours. Maybe. "I got… A hug. Six months ago." She said quietly. "That's not their fault, I don't… Ask, and they're both... One's fragile, the other is tough. It's fine."

When the contact breaks, the touch, the comfort. There's a snap inside her, the loss sending clarity through a clouded mind, a broken one. The tears stop, and she snaps straight, the composure returns, and the weakness is stuffed away. "Fuck."

Game.
Her voice says, quietly. Look. She lets her essence spread, outward, into the room, and tries to look at Kerrigan, at Ana, at both of them.

The Queen is stiff and angry, watching something she cares for fall apart. Having no idea how to help, left hanging on someone else to do it, someone else to fix it. She stares at Ana and Lilith, heart aching, teeth gritted, ozone-crackle freely audible. But violence won't fix this.

The Witch is loose, accepting. This is her element, broken shards and twisted people. Dances of thoughts and feelings, the worst ones, the most damaging ones. She's only got eyes for Lilith, looking at her, daring her to accept, to fall into her embrace and never be let go.

How many times did Varynna make you fall for this? The voice said, In twenty minutes? Her mind froze, Kerrigan could learn. Be a hammer, be an idol. They might not be lies, She hid a lot. Sarah never hid, not once. She just didn't know.

If you love me, believe me. Ana's mental voice ripples like a stream of warm water.

This was always going to end with someone hurt. Lilith realized, You, Ana, or Sarah. You no matter what. Why don't you ask the daemon? That's a terrible idea, or… It leads to pleasure, and pain though. Manth, can Kerrigan learn to support me?

It won't be the same. The Daemon admits, Nothing's ever quite…the same.

Would she make the same choice for me?

Anastasia will die for you. Manth answers, not quite what was asked, but close enough for it.

"Sarah, Ride or die until the end right? Not just when it's convenient?" Lilith thinks, thinking back to the first conversation, the one with the face, the one where the face lied to her.

Snapping out of the whirlpool of panic, without thinking, Sarah answers in a snap. "There won't be an end."

"I can't stop thinking you're doing this to hurt Sarah. When I play games like this, it's not to hurt people." Lilith said to Anastasia, breaking. "Maybe the words have just… Maybe I'm confused, or stupid, but this feels… I know you'd know what it'd be like for her to see me break down like that while she watched." She stands up, trying to walk away, something in her gut churning violently, that she can't put her finger on.

Ana sighs, a loving look on her face as she stands up. "You're too convincing, Lilith." A smirk breaks across her face as she moves, grabbing the coffee and taking it with her, around to Kerrigan's side, sitting next to her, staring into her eyes whilst flickering Essence flows alight in both of their eyes.

"I told Ana that I had a daemon, if she's hurt enough she can get our entire world destroyed." Lilith said to Kerrigan, "Part of why we're on this side of the planet." The intention dark, hanging in the room. Dangling over them all, like a guillotine. Everything is going cold.

Kerrigan's eyes are the first to break contact, looking wide and surprised at what Lilith just said. Ana, on the other hand, smiles darkly at her love. "Love, tell me, will you be happy?"

"I'm not saying we have to kill you, Abathur can take away memories, we take that little part out. Kerrigan needs to know, I don't think she remembers from when she looked at the memory with Varynna." Lilith says quietly, "If you'll do anything, then let me just take out that. It's your choice, I trust you not to use it against me."

A sip of her cup settles Ana, "For the good of the Imperium, hmm?" She chuckles, mostly to herself, a broad smile at the idea. "For the Swarm, maybe?" Another chuckle. "Another chunk torn out, for something greater." A third laugh, grim and entertained.

"For me, pretty little truths, we can go back to fifteen minutes ago." Lilith whispers, "I can't, I thought everyone was aware. I—"

Kerrigan made the decision for Lilith before anyone could interact, lightning attempting to incinerate Ana. A single pink puff of energy drawing it, just off target. Lilith screams "No!" As she rushes forward, "Don't let her at lea—"

The Witch, powerful, glorious, loving rips at Kerrigan with psyker powers, looking at Lilith. Incensed the Queen of Blades feels gripped by the essence. Panic, rage, confusion all swirl together as suddenly she realizes she's pinned. It continues as the Swarm writhes with anger, an inhuman chitter echoing from the planet from every corner. Lilith chose, but Ana was willing to die, and Kerrigan was willing to kill. She didn't want to, god she didn't want too.

Manth… Do it… She whispers quietly.

A pink flash as Kerrigan is sent back, sent back to the evolution pits, twice as raw as the feelings of her own pain mixes with thousands others a connection of every time that Lilith had ever sequenced, been resequenced, or tortured herself under Kerrigan's command. Each slice resplendent and dutiful and terrible. Lilith weeps as Kerrigan collapses her eyes wide in horror as pink film stops her from seeing anything. She looks at her and quickly, quietly whispers something into her ear.

Kerrigan, at an instant starts tearing at her own skin, screaming that it hurts, it must stop, but Lilith has stepped away from this as she watches. She is not here, instead reaching out for comfort as Anastasia holds her close. The Queen of Blades still screaming, tearing, and ripping. The fight out of her.

Lilith unfurls her Sequencers and whispers. "Hold her down. I need thirty seconds."

Ana has proven before she is capable, at least, of this. The cuts are done. The essence drunk. Manth is fed.

Anastasia watched Lilith with a predatory hunger, her smile sharp. "Finally," she purred, stepping over Kerrigan's broken form, "we can be together." Her hand snaked out, brushing a stray tear from Lilith's cheek – a promise of possession disguised as comfort.

The Queen of Blades was no more.

B01-021 - Unity
"Zhakarov," Somewhere in swarm-space, somewhere quiet where a conversation can be had under the endless chatter of Overminds and Queens, "The Queen is dead, murdered by a member of Unity, the Astropath."

The older gentleman placed a hand on his lapel and sighed, "We all saw Zrug. It had to be done."

"It was engineered by her pet." Zrug the Ultralisk commander's essence said, as he whispered, "What if she turns on another one of us?"

A quiet chuckle is heard in the psychic maelstrom, "Lilith is an opportunist, not a planner. She'll take the chances she's given, simply do not give her any chances. You'll find her quite manageable." As Zhakarov directed streams of swarms, and updated numbers in holo pad he followed up with, "The Queen's death warrant was signed the minute she started to trust her. Lilith is aware she's observed among telepaths. She won't plan anything."

"You better hope you're right…" The Ultralisks voice huffed, "Or it might be your head next."

"I assure you, it won't be…" Then with a clap, "Now, let's go greet our newest member of Unity."

"Fuck." Lilith said gasping, "Fuck. Fuck, we are so fucked." She's panicking, her eyes are swimming her mind is churning. "Ana… We are so fucked." Then quieter, gasping, "I promised you'd make it to the end… See?" She collapses at Ana's feet, not wanting to look at the ribbons and meat Sarah, no The Queen of Blades, had become. "I shouldn't have tried to have it both ways. I shouldn't have. I know better now. Please forgive me."

Ana sits down, moving to Lilith's side and pulling the woman to her, a giddy, manic energy infesting her. "You picked me." Its a quiet, though most certainly not calm admission, "You picked me."

The swarm's watching, she knows she had to be sad. She knows the entirety of it's leaders, it's members had seen. Still the giggling is infectious, and it tugs at what is supposed to be an overwhelming sadness. "I picked you in the behemoth." Then she can't stop giggling, "This… this… I didn't know if any of it would work. It all worked. Everything turned out great, god I love you. I love you the real you." And she can't stop laughing. "We really are dead though."

"It doesn't matter." Ana laughs, "We're together. What happens after doesn't matter." She pulls Lilith in tight, still giggling like a madwoman.

The intensity of the joy was something Sarah had never made her feel, the hug that was given not begged for meant more than anything else in the world. She simply leaned in and waited for the Swarm to surely turn on them. To come and tear them apart. So she waited in Ana's arms. Enjoying the last moments until the end.

And waited.

And waited…

Nothing came. In Swarm-space, everything went on exactly as it was. Drones kept trudging along on their tasks. Overlords kept relaying orders from Unity. Queens still enjoyed weaving, and tailoring and creating. Why… Didn't they come. Something flit to them, an essence resembling a man with a cybernetic eye. Zhakarov.

"Well, this is quite the predicament…" He said, watching the two women, but not unkindly. Then, walking through the coffee house, as only essence can. He flit his attention to the surroundings, then back. While admiring a cane that seemed entirely unnecessary for a psychic entity, he said. "It seems it was not our violent hot-headed Queen keeping the Swarm together after all. A valuable, if unstable asset lost."

"No, really Zhakarov?" Ana hisses at him, "Maybe what I've been saying this whole time. Me, the Psyker, about our psychic link." Another hiss of words escape her, drenched in venom. "Wasn't wrong?" She rolls her eyes, turning back to her love, "Sometimes I struggle to remember you are smarter than me."

The hug feels right. This feels right. This was right. This was the right course of action surely, nothing bad could feel this good. "Didn't we know that when we disconnected her from the swarm for three days? Or at least highly suspected." She looks at Ana's face before whispering, "So we're not going to get torn apart by Zerg?"

"No." The Swarm's director answers, "We are short on psychics." A simple logic, but one that is a balm to the fear of incoming death.

A small whisper escapes Lilith as she tries to keep the laughter in, "Oh thank god…" Another deep breath then she stands, offering her hand to Ana. Who takes it and stands with her, both entwining, leaning their heads on each other. "What do we do now? I still have to talk to Varynna about getting more provisions, we were talking about expanding, so I need to work on making a Terran safe creep, and… Where do we start?"

Ana kisses Lilith suddenly, a short contact, just enough to settle her own mind and send Lilith's own in a momentary spiral. Answering just after separation, she says, "Easiest tasks first, love. We can speak to a Lord Admiral together."

"Just… Be careful, she's tricky… She likes to fuck with my head. A lot." Lilith admits, many of Varynna's games and words rattling around in her head. Before looking into Ana's eyes, knowing she's the one who beat the Queen of Blades, knowing Ana was stronger than anyone. "You're going to be great."

Ana nods confidently, "I've dealt with her kind before." Holding Lilith's hand tightly, she continues, "Lets go… fuck with her head?" There's a moment of confusion to her, "Did I use that right? I've not heard it before."

"Yeah, that's pretty on point, yeah." Lilith said with a deep breath. "Can an infested tell Varynna to pick us up here? It's like three hours even by the Nydus worm to get back."

And so it was done, in what seemed like an instant, the Shuttle had descended up on the Zerg Diplomatic Center that Lilith had spent working on. A place now anointed in the blood of her Queen. The building the Coffee Shop was in had a landing pad on the roof, and the creep had been pushed far back, to make the spores less dense. An attempt of hers to see if there was a way to position the creep so it was safe, but still effective. She watch the sleek shuttle slowly drift downwards, landing just next to them the door opening wide, revealing a familiar fur covered interior.

"Ladies?" The voice of Zares, ever so slightly more mechanical resounds from the cockpit.

Lilith slid in with a smile, "Hey Zares! I'm glad you made it out, you remember Ana of course." She says gesturing to her beloved, with a far greater intensity, knowing her affection would not be spurned or derided. Knowing that it didn't hurt Ana.

Ana gives a wave to Zares, sitting at the nearest seat to Lilith, keeping a hand on her at all times. "Certainly do." The casual tap tap tap of buttons and switches from Zares is a slick background noise, "Do you all mind if I play some music? I'm in a good mood after my surgery." The pilot chuckles.

"Of course not, I think I need to get more cultured anyways," She replied with a wink, "Probably going to be celebrities after how readily we trounced Chaos, and helped save the fleet."

With a flick of another switch, a pulsing electronic beat starts emanating from a stereo-system on the cockpit. It mixes in with fusion thrust as the shuttle rises, turning to harsh industrial sound that gets blood pumping in anyone who hears it. "Mhmm, news is spreading. Our Astropath's have already been ordered to signal victory."

A chanting undertone to the music adds to its brutalistic, sound-filled notes. Zares seems particularly conversational, to the sharp senses of Zerg, a survivor's excitement evident in his scent. Adrenaline and dopamine in his skin.

"God damn, I'm so fucking happy you made it," Lilith giggled,, scratching her head, "I could not imagine how much worse the conversations would have gotten. I have an awkward question, was… This a big battle, or a small one? It's our first time."

"Not the nastiest furball I've been in." He admits, letting the autopilot take over as the course is settled, "But its in the top fifteen. Medium-small."

"Oh thank god," Lilith said putting her head back, "We only had a year to prepare so I was shitting bricks the entire time. We know to prepare now, so…" She nestled closer into Ana, Squeezing her tightly. "Yeah, I'm flustered. I had a big day." Then she gave Ana a peck on the cheek.

"Its…nothing like Cadia was." Zares chuckles, a light electronic tinge to it, "There… ships were so dense you couldn't fly half a minute in any direction without hitting one. Flak and PD so thick it wasn't if you could avoid it, it was how long you could take it." The reminiscent tone is one of a pilot recalling his greatest achievement. "I lasted through all that and nearly died to a stray shell punching a hole in my cockpit." A smooth chuckle escapes Zares as he glances down at a patched part of his uniform.

With a curious look, Lilith glances at the side of him, "Didn't lose anything too irreplaceable I hope." Then a big smile on her face, "I'm going to say something that should never leave this cockpit." Lilith admitted, "One time we had so many ships that planets and fleets couldn't see the star in their own system." As they fly path a behemoth she points at it, "They're just… Pets, you can send them off and they do what you ask, so you can send hundreds of thousands of them pretty much anywhere."

"Huh, useful." Zares comments, shifting towards the open docking bay of the Herald of Doom. Preparing to land. Ana chuckles, "Volunteer a little less sometimes Lilith." Her hand ruffles the woman's tendrils kindly.

Lilith smiles looking up at her, then thinking, "We're going to need more people eventually. I don't think we'll ever find a solution to the Swarm's inability to connect outside of the system. That means recruiting so people can run things on other planets."

The Witch nods, a flickering gleam in her eyes. Looking up to Zares, she merely asks, "Zares, do you want to live forever?" You could hear a pin drop in the interior of the shuttle at the surprise of the question. "Not breathe through a respirator for the rest of however long the Lord Admiral keeps you?"

Zares's expression is hidden by the matte black of the pilot's helm, but that's no obstacle to a telepath. "I don't know what you mean, Lady Astropath." His answer is non-commital, careful and still very calm.

As Lilith goes to say Lady Illar, she feels a firm grip on her leg. Stopping her from speaking.

"You are capable of understanding words. You know what I mean." There's a cruel venom to her voice that, paradoxically, calms the pilot judging from scent and body language. "I'll ask again when we return, make your decision by then." Something dark gleamed in Ana's eyes, "Else I'll help you make it."

Her cheeks get flush as she watches Ana, and Lilith's mind starts to gently simmer with affection. You are so hot, she thinks, staring directly at her, no longer leaning on Ana, but fully draping her before remembering where she was. You are so awesome. The compliments are ineloquent, as Lilith often is, but behind them, the pure aura of energy is almost blinding.

Ana can't help but smile as the wave rushes over her. Like a gentle caress, or a piece of silk being draped over a mattress. Awash in the moment of… It was almost worship at this point. The shuttle docked, and they quickly departed. Anastasia calmly leading the way to Lord Admiral Varynna's quarters. Opening the door to allow Lilith in.

A rattling hiss emanates from up a marble stairway, the opulent chamber of gilded gemstones on stone pillars, drenched in hunted furs and luxurious furnishings centrally marked by the stairway going up. The hiss repeats again, in, out. Like a lung-exposed.

The noise makes Lilith shiver, trying to figure out why it bothered her so much. It crept along her spine, running nails across her back. In, out, pause, in, out. It was driving her insane. The Swarm buildings breathed, why was this so different? It hit her when she smelled the Anti-septic, a smell she hadn't sensed since she was sixteen. The ground felt unforgiving, it felt like she was… Not walking into battle, that was fun, but walking into something much, much worse. Like a coffee sho— She shut that one down fast.

Ana interlocks her arm with Lilith, looking at the doorway. She whispers quietly. "Together." Moving to open the door for the both of them and revealing the bedroom of Lord Admiral Varynna.

Varynna leans into the pillows, dark black scorching all along her neck, sinking past the white, light and soft cotton gown she has on, stained with red. Her arms are bruised purple, as if someone took a bat to them for hours, split lip and slightly swollen eye all mix in with a look of tremendous overexertion. A woman in death's living room, waiting for the tea to simmer.

Next to her, a machine wracks her with coughs, pumping like a black lung, mechanisms forcing air into her, still, she smiles as both women come in, showing teeth obviously ground against each other for hours..

"How the mighty fall, Lord Admiral." Anastasia smirks at the sight of the woman, a hiss of mechanism filling Varynna's chest with air as she smiles at the jab. "How the lowly rise, Lady Von Illar." A thrown insult back makes Ana's smile grow.

Even though it was an insult, Lilith just felt better knowing that Ana was getting some respect. The way everyone treated her like shit incensed her. She's not Lady Astropath she's a person with a name and— Lilith's thoughts were cut off by the conversation, was Varynna talking to her? "Uh… Sorry, what was that?"

"An insult exchange-" Varynna breaks into a violent coughing fit, a trickle of blood falling free and staining the white-gold sheets. "D-damnit, my i-image." She complains as the coughing stops the calm, cool and collected image of a Lord Admiral, showing the deeply sick and injured woman beneath.

Without realizing it, Lilith was holding her breath, the noise and sickness and smell sending her into small shivers. "Sorry, I've… I don't think I've been in a hospital for like… Since I was a teenager. We don't get sick so there's no need, this is…" A shuddering breath, "I mean you live like this? By choice?"

"There's… options." Varynna admits, "None of them are better, most are worse." Her eyes pull over to the closet in the side of the room, staring at it with a frown. "And it won't be a problem for overly long. I've a day, perhaps two before infection claims me."

"Do you need a hug?" Lilith asks, the games completely out of her mind now, as she gets so sad. She liked Varynna despite everything. The games were fun, it was worry about hurting Kerrigan that even kept her from winning. "Do you?"

"I was hoping for one, yes." Varynna smiles from her repose. "But asking's never easy." The sad shock in her voice is uncharacteristic, like a memory flared up.

Lilith looks back at Ana, who gives her a small nod, and she leans in. Giving her a hug, it's warm, and she let's it simmer letting the frail weak hands scratch her back, and then she pulls away. "I'm still pretty mad you won the last game by the way," She says.

Hands slipping off Lilith with a small, unconscious whine, she sighs, "I played dirty, I admit. Was it at least fun?"

"Absolutely, and it makes this next part way way easier," an infestor lashes out striking the Admiral in the chest. "This is going to hurt a lot before it gets better. You have twenty minutes to say yes."

The Admiral gasps as the infestor tendril lands home, her hand goes to it, clasping tight around the tendril and trying to hold it in place. "P-point t-to y-you." She laughs as black veins spread from the injection, slowly infecting her.

Ana pulls out a chair for Lilith, and she sits down with a smile. "So, how did the battle go?" She asks, relishing in the moment, not asking a Yes or No question.

"G-gah!" Varynna bemoans, arching and twisting with the pain, "I-it w-went f-fantastic." A bloodshot eye locks onto Ana grinning as words start to come together, a jab forged."

"I wish I had an Apple," she said looking at Anastasia, "This feels like a moment where an apple would just push the point. She's not slipping into Swarm-space." Then looking back at Varynna, "It went great for me. It was my first one! I found out I love it, like, a lot. Like a crazy amount." She nods then looks at Varynna, "Have you thought about what you want to look like?" Another question, but not a yes or no.

Ignoring Lilith, Varynna jabs to Ana. "H-how d-did t-the Q-queen f-feel a-about this?" A wicked grin, as if she knows something. Ana narrows her eyes, a subtle psychic force building before she strangles it.

"I killed her." Lilith interjected, snapping her fingers, "The tantrums were being a bit much. Have you thought about what you'd look like?"

"M-maybe!" She shouts as her remaining eye rolls back into her head, the nervous system likely in the process of being tapped, a scream echoing forth that makes Ana shift slightly. She looked to Lilith, who said "Does it really hurt this bad? I felt… Really giddy. Well it… Tingled?"

Though when she looked back to Varynna when her eye rolled back she let the worry, shock and concern land on her face. "Ok… Say yes now please. Would you like to join?"

Hands grasping wildly at the sheets of her bed, Varynna smiles with blood, having clearly bitten into her tongue, "W-w-what d-do I get!" She screams out.

"A point, tying us up. three to three. I think. Which means we start the games at a tie." Though her voice is trembling, and she's start to gulp at the blood. "I'll definitely take the loss here, just please, do you want to join?"

Ten minutes, Varynna stiffens herself, tearing the tube from her chest as she says, "S-something b-better. C-c-c-ome on Li-lilith!" A demand, even in agony as she is, she still has demands. Ana shrugs, "If she wants to buck and moan for another nine minutes, we can let her, she dies or gives in."

There is now palpable panic, as she almost unconsciously reaches out for Ana's robe before snatching back, trying to regain her composure. "You've… I…" Then an idea finally hits, "I… I…" when she says, "I'm… fainting…" and tumbles out of the chair. Letting her skull smack hard against the floor with a bounce. Tell her she has to agree to me, Lilith whispers to Ana on their psychic link.

Ana stands up, not worried about a small bump to a zerg-infused biology. Moving to the edge of the bed, she grabs Varynna by the jaw and forces her to look. "You've made my love faint. That's doing certain things to me." She whispers with a strained, growled voice.

"Agree, say yes, or I'll take away the choice." Another forceful shifting agony takes the breath from Varynna as her face is forced to remain stiff, "A-aha, I-I'll t-take t-two p-points f-for the t-trick." She jokes through Anastasia's grip, "G-g-YES!" Finally, she cries out.

Lilith, hadn't asked a question yet, and remains on the ground for another few seconds. Of course, the Yes worked, but infestation wouldn't cease immediately. So she laid there, motionless, to see if Varynna would think that she had finally gone too far in a game with her own life on the line.

The Admiral groans, manic energy entering her as laughter starts to emanate, no longer caring of the risk, just sinking into whatever happens. Seconds pass, nearly half a minute, before tiny, miniscule sparks of fear slip into her, arcing through the budding Swarm ties, a fear of death.

Then Lilith leapt up, immediately and said, "You just have to accept it doesn't matter if I'm awake or not." Giving her a giant grin. "So I guess you'll take one point, and we're tied again." Then she boops Varynna on the nose with the tip of her finger.

Sounds of pain and laughter echo across the small hospital room as the infection starts to push out augmentics, replacing them with flesh. Nervous systems and muscle tissue re-growing, blood vessels filling and expanding, bones becoming strong and flexible like steel cables. The laugh doesn't stop, even when the slight fangs appear, or one of her eyes start to glow with a gleaming yellow light. The body is inflated and her features once again come to life. Then the process stopped, a diminutive woman dressed in clothes and carapace is fully reborn on the hospital bed.

"You're given me a taste for games Varynna, it's very disconcerting." Lilith says, her own glowing eyes now alight with joy.

"Is that so?" Varynna slowly rises to sit on the bed instead of lay there, looking at Lilith after pushing the grip of Anastasia away from her in a surprising show of strength. "I can't wait to keep playing." She's coy and mischievous, single remaining eye boring a hole in Lilith.

"I keep my promise Varynna, I really do." Then she pointed at the other eye, the empty socket where a cybernetic one would be, "You and Zhakarov did that. Why? What's it with the eye? Are eye-patches that cool?"

She shrugs, "The eye hasn't been mine in centuries. Why would I suddenly want it back?"

"Depth perception, for one." Lilith snorted, taking a few steps away looking at Ana with pure unadulterated glee, We did it! You and I! "Are you coming planetside? I'd like it if you took the shuttle with us you seem… Good at logistics and planning."

Ana rubs Lilith's arm encouragingly, speaking, "I'm going to support that notion. Come with us, we've plenty of sights to show you." There's a tone to her, she's obviously incredibly entertained by the last few minutes.

Varynn shakes her head, "I've more responsibilities than you seem to. If you want to play more games, Ladies von Illar." She smirks, "You'll be doing it here."

Lilith narrows her eyes with a tiny rage, "How did you know I was going to do that."

Laying on her side and letting the thin cotton dress drape over her figure, Varynna keeps smirking, "Lilith, my dear, sweet Lilith. I've been doing this a lot longer than you. Now, come to bed or go home." Resting her head on a pillow.

"Spoiled a surprise," Lilith pouted. Before saying again if not for the last time, "Oh no. She's hot." Almost whining as she looks to Ana, "I didn't think she'd get more attractive, we should go before she thinks she has a chance."

"Someone scared?" Varynna taunts with a smirk. "I suppose not everyone can handle me." She fully lays herself down, smiling broadly as she claims another victory.

Lilith bites her lip for a half second before quickly turning, unfortunately, into the chair she had "fainted" from. Stumbling into it causing the chair to hit her shin. "God damnit." She whispers as a small twinge of pain, more emotional than physical, radiated up her shin. "Is that swear Ok to say actually? I didn't really think about that." She looks to Ana once again for guidance as she quickly moves to leave the room.

Ana is smirking as she leaves the room, "It's fine to say. Don't worry love." As Varynna chuckles quietly behind the two leaving women. As soon as they're out of earshot, she breathes out. "Dear God Emperor, she's good."

"Good Hot, or Good like politically." Lilith asks, "You're like panting, it makes it harder to read. Wait why is that hard for you, you're a telepath." She puts an arm around Ana's waist, to both comfort her, and do something with her own nervous energy.

Anastasia rolled her eyes, "Good politically, love." Before giving her light scritches on her back. They walked back out of the Admiral's quarters back to the shuttle.

"Though," Ana admits, "I was feeling your… excitement throughout." A smile pulls across her face as she sits down, Zares beginning to flick buttons and brings the shuttle online, "If you're around, I suppose I could…consider her."

There's more flares of raw emotion as Lilith's mind goes in about a dozen different directions at once, now not only sitting in the shuttle but laying backwards looking up into her face. "I know… I know you're perfect for me. Can you feel that?" She whispers.

She reaches to cup Lilith's cheek, a viciously ablaze look in her eyes, the dull gleam fading to reveal something utterly obsessive, "In my heart, whenever I see you." Ana's hand tightens, tiny cuts on Lilith's cheek that heal quickly forming from scraping talons. "I feel it."

"That part, I think is cuteness aggression, I'm adorable. Now then, to business." She turns over to Zares, "You in? You can still be a pilot or whatever." Then she looks to Ana. Do we tell him? You're better at this than I am.

"I was hoping you'd both forgotten." Zares admits, bringing the ship up to speed.

With a tiny laugh Lilith said, "That's the problem with being cute or charming. No one forgets you." Then, luxuriating in the gentle touch, "It's a choice, no-one forces it. I don't at least, you don't want to live forever with someone who hates you."

Ana finally speaks, "Embrace it, Zares, you've a way out of the relentless crush of life." She commandingly states, "Unless you want to keep rolling the die, hoping this time, a flak shell doesn't land on the wrong spot." Zares twitches at the words.

"You know, you are both uncomfortably convincing." The fusion drive brings the shuttle out into the void.

The glow of essence in Lilith's eyes almost make the walls of the cabin glow. "I think it's because we're nice in a galaxy with a lot fewer nice people than I expected." She's still laying in Ana's lap, fully luxuriating in her freedom, knowing that she can just be herself, for better or for worse. "We just set up a mall, Ana and I. It's got a theatre, and a perfume shop, and a restaurant and… Err… What was the other thing Ana?"

"What things doesn't it have, love?" With a radiant smile, Anastasia turned to Lilith and then to Zares, her gaze conveying a mixture of affection and purpose.

With a small giggle Lilith says, "I'm trying to figure out how to make like, a rock climbing obstacle course without being obtrusive, but we could honestly just put it in the next place over."

Zares takes off his helmet, drawing every other eye in the shuttle to him. Short hair dyed a peroxide blonde shakes out of it, pale skin that hasn't seen sunlight's touch in a long, long time is revealed. The sharpest eyes either woman has ever seen, a lip with a single, short scar through the edge of the bottom half and high cheekbones that suggest some sort of noble lineage.

"But the thing is, I can't risk my face." He smiles broadly at the joke as the shuttle keeps moving into the void.

Lilith looks at him, tapping a draped arm over Ana's leg, "Well that's the thing! You pick your face. This is my face! That's Ana's! The lord ad—" She stops, changing path, "Everyone keeps their face. You could even be a real blonde."

"I…am?" He answers with a confused look and shakes his head, "This isn't a dye." Ana gazes at the man with a frown, "How is that not a dye?" She asks, gesturing towards the bleached colour of his hair.

"Well, after enough exposure to promethium, things happen Lady Illar." He corrects his earlier mistake, turning the shuttle towards the planet and activating autopilot. "Besides, like I said, I can't risk my face. I don't think purple is my colour."

"That makes sense, yeah." She says nodding, "Well we tried! You're sweet! Think about it. It's apparently an option if you're like, 95% augmentics."

Just to preface this, love. Ana's voice gently moves into Lilith's mind, I am attracted to him suddenly. Is that alright?

It makes me jealous, which is fun in its own right. But also ick, men.
She nods, I think you already know I'm into the Admiral, but I also don't know where that goes. Somewhere terrifying I suppose.

The Witch smiles at her loves response. Mhmm, jealousy is interesting. We'll have a discussion about it later, alright?

Absolutely, you should get to make me feel jealous. I took way too long making up my mind.
Then with a dark vicious smile she said, besides we've learned what to do when people get in the way now.

The shuttle streaked home as Lilith grabbed Ana's hand.

B01-022 - Pontificating Politics
"Oh misses Von Illar" Liliths voice crooned through the new planetside home, "Where are you?" It's light and pleasant, carrying around the Behemoth turned homestead. They had moved the creature to let it float within only a short drop of the ground, allowing them far more time on their trips, and far less time being shuttled by an Overlord.

Anastasia rolled her eyes, "What is it Lilith?" The new, natural speaking voice of Anastasia had a gravel that made Lilith swoon.

Lilith came bounding into their kitchen, much of it either crafted flesh or stolen drawers and cabinets, "I stole some chocolates from Varynna kitchen for you." She said hopping onto the counter, throwing her a small cardboard box. "I can't believe she still has any that are good. Or… Had."

"They probably make it on the ship," But Anaastasia still dug into a piece all the same. "How did you get on the ship anyways?"

"Can't say sadly, now that we're all connected I must keep some secrets." Lilith closed her eyes, but to Ana, mentally, she said, I bribed Zares to get it for me. "I have my ways."

They sat in the kitchen enjoying their pilfered delicacy in silence, before Lilith said, "We're going to need to move soon. We're running out of places to even put down creep. Overlords are pretty much at capacity too. Have we found a way to get a psychic link so we can keep control?"

Ana shakes her head, "Zhakarov's got ideas. But it all circles back to Astropaths and trusting the organism we send out to not make mistakes."

"I have… An indelicate question," Lilith said, reaching out for Ana's hands pulling her in close.

"There's nothing you can't ask me, love." The Witch assures, meeting Lilith's gaze.

With a nod, but hugging Ana to avoid the eyes, "You mentioned the uh… Astro Teletronica place yeah? Don't those people get… Put to death? Couldn't we just purchase and feed a few thousand to Abathur?"

"The Astra Telepathica would burn a world before giving up a single psyker without direct order." Anastasia chuckles, leaning into Lilith's touch.

Running fingers up Ana's chest, trying still to avoid her eyes, "Well, I meant purchase… A different way. From Varynna." Still looking straight ahead, "We don't know what we can get, if we don't ask. A Lord Admiral is like… The top guys, right? Two or three steps away from the emperor."

"I…." Ana sighs, something tiring her suddenly, "We do what we must, my love. My apprehensions aren't important." Squeezing Lilith tightly for a second at that.

With a big smirk, "Are you… Jealous?" She said with a pause, "Or are you losing a game?" The second is a more direct accusation.

"Both, love." She sighs again, "I….we should have that talk, I think, before I 'accidentally' vent Varynna next I see her." Ana's joke is darkly amusing to her, smiling into Lilith's neck as she nestles in.

"I think you're right about the talk. I'm very quickly coming to terms with the idea of turning Zares into strings of ribbons, so… Probably sooner than later." She hadn't realised that counter was crumbling underneath the tightness of her grip, "Much sooner… Preferably." The Behemoth let out a yelp as she tightly pinched the muscle underneath the counter, "Oh shit, sorry!" She said to their living home.

"God-Emperor, I love you." Ana's staring at the cracked and crumbling counter with a wicked look in her eyes. "Lets… talk, before we get too busy to talk." She brushes Lilith's arm, trying to gently move it off the countertop. The arm moves stiffly, and she realises, as it pulls away that Lilith had torn away a small hole of flesh in the Behemoth's side.

She also knew that Lilith was pretending not to notice, as small waves of anxiety seemed to emanate from her.

"Ok, I'm ok with… Pretty much anything, until I'm very much not. Then it becomes a problem." Is something, wrong with her that doesn't sound like her. Lilith shook her head, but it was true. She didn't know what she wanted anymore. She had gotten it and now she felt lost without something to chase. The idea of seeing Ana with anyone made her want to tear the room apart, but the idea of staying with anyone made her want to tear herself apart. "I don't know what I want, I'll… Have to see, and find out. The P word though means they die. I can't hurt you though, I love you a lot."

"So." Ana sits at a couch, tapping her thigh to invite Lilith, "What you're telling me is I can get you to kill anyone I want?" She's grinning, tilting her head at Lilith."

Lilith almost ran to the couch, before very quickly straddling Ana, "Probably, but you don't have to do it by hurting me. Just point," She demonstrated, "And make like a clicking noise with your ton— Oh wait we can talk in our heads. You know what still point and make a clicking noise. It'll be more intimidating." The smaller of the two just sat there with agonising closeness.

Neck tensing as Lilith plays her game, Ana continues to speak, "When I imagine Varynna touching you, I have this…urge—"

"Watch?" Lilith interrupted with a joke, before kissing her on the neck, "I can't believe it." Her talons gripping tightly at Ana's shoulders in case she was about to be flung from her.

Sighing in pleasure at the kiss and touch, the Psyker only mildly tightens her grip on Lilith's waist, "You're lucky I like you kissing me." She starts to recoup her thoughts.

"If I was able to resist her while hiding… So much of me," Lilith moved the kisses to Ana's cheek, "What makes you think I couldn't resist them now I can be myself?" The final kiss just touches the side of her lips, the very corner, before looking into Ana's eyes. "My favourite thing about you, you love me for being myself. You see me."

"I don't want you to resist anything." Anastasia bites her lip at the kiss, having to recover quickly to finish her thoughts, "But I don't want her around either. Something has to give." She's letting Lilith have the lead here, just enjoying attention.

"Give her a hatchery and a couple of Overlords, and she'll leave immediately." Lilith said, before leaning in very close letting the tip of their lips almost touch before leaning back again. "Resist is maybe the wrong word. It's a switch, I can turn it off."

"Do you like the thought, Lilith." Briefly spiking a serious tone to her voice, Ana looks deeply into her love's eyes. "Do you like her? That answers my questions."

That's a good question, Lilith realized. She didn't know entirely, the Lord Admiral knew how to make her feel bad with good things. Ana uses those same things to make her feel good. Varynna was fun to pass jabs back and forth with, but she took it too far, most of the time. There was play, and the game was almost funner precisely because they both knew the catastrophic results of either of them losing. Still it wasn't… Love. It wasn't even really like but it was companionship.

Finally she admitted, "I have no idea, because any time I get a grip on a facet, the entire stone rotates and I'm looking at something completely different. I think she's sliced me open enough times to never really trust getting close. There's things to learn though. Nine-hundred years of experience, you with nearly a hundred. There's… stuff I need to know. I don't play any of these games as well as either of you. I will end up hurt, or hurting you if I don't learn them."

"It sounds to me like you want to learn about her, and anything that happens, happens." Ana speaks to herself. "And, maybe, get even." The last part is darker, pulling a smile across herself. "Tell me if I'm on the mark, love."

"To be honest? Revenge implies a level of hurt that I didn't feel got reached. Precisely because I learned what was happening, too slowly of course." Not even looking at Ana, trying to search her own mind, "I don't really care about anything but the political and military stuff. How to fuck with people properly while defending myself when people start plucking at my heart. I would precisely avoid anything happening that could bother you, because… She just doesn't mean that much to do it?"

Trying to get her thoughts together. "It's like having a ship, and a small gallon of ice cream. Sure, that could be my favourite ice cream ever, but I'm not going to let the paint scratch on the ship just for that."

"Am I just being possessive?" Ana wonders, "I am." And then immediately realizes the truth. "I…think its because she reminds me of a more…dangerous ruler. Even if you say the truth, that you can easily cut her out, I can't get over the fear that she… spins you up in a web." Anastasia frowns at herself.

"It's silly, that's silly." She tells herself, "I have to get over that."

"That seems reasonable, if by web you mean trap and not feelings." Lilith says, putting her hands down from Ana's shoulders, to the sides of her chest. "I've never been in a psychic link with a partner being intimate with someone. I… Don't… Think you have at least with me, to memory. I have no idea what I'm going to feel. I may react… Poorly, not towards you of course." She adds hastily at the end, "I… Think I'd be fine? I also think I'd burn down half the planet. One of those two extremes, and it possibly changes depending on the day."

"Well…might have to figure this out, eventually." Ana admits, "I love you too much to stop you from chasing what you want." Her smile is actually warm, a rarity for her, "So…blast it." She finishes, "How do we do that."

"Me chase what I want?"

"If you see someone you want to kiss Lilith, I don't want to be the one in the way. Not just Varynna." Anastasia explains her point as she shifts her hips underneath Lilith.

"I haven't met anyone that it's been— that… Mattered that much? I've met what ten people here? Total. Four of them are bugs." Lilith snorted, as she leaned forward. "I am chasing what I want. What I want, is someone beautiful," Lilith takes a talon stroking the side of it down Ana's face, "and strong," She let it continue down the side of her neck "and smart," Before coming back up just under her chin, lifting it slightly before leaning in. "and funny…" She kisses her on the lips, finally, just once to keep her attention. "Right now, all I want to do is play with that. Make that someone" Another, deeper kiss, for much, much longer. Letting her lips overlap with Ana's and enticing Ana to lean fully into it. Letting the connection steal moments away. It had been nearly a minute and a half when she pulled apart, leaving Ana gasping, "Breathless…"

The Witch's eyes are glossy and hazy, lips puffed from the contact, "We…" She catches her breath, "We were having…a conversation, love." Even despite the words, her expression is glowing, a smile bright on it as she stares.

"If you knew how pretty you looked, you would completely understand my troubles right now." Lilith replied leaning back. "But, I think for me where I want to be is: monogamous for now. Sharing is fine, but limiting and maybe unfair since I'm not really into guys. I'm not sure when it would even come up, because I do not really want to leave your side. I'd want to take you if I go to see Varynna anyways."

"If you two have sex around me I'm stabbing her." Ana states calmly, "I don't think I could hold back."

"She's Zerg, you could actually kill her in the middle of it. I keep telling you to do that to me, you keep freaking out at the idea." Lilith laughs, before realising how fucking insane that might sound.

"Suddenly." Ana looks at Lilith with renewed interest. "I'm far more interested in this." She smiles with a cruel air, imagining things.

"I'll go get a bolter," Lilith says hopping off, leaving Ana confused as she races… Somewhere in the Behemoth.

Anastasia leaps off the couch walking behind her, "We have a gun?! Why do we have a gun?!"

A crackle of a vox catches Lilith and Anastasia's attention. It had laid silent for weeks, months as the ships in orbit of a distant gas giant were repaired, gouged holes in their hull filled in with temporary measures whilst vital components were salvaged from hulked vessels. It continues to crackle as words form.

"It's been a while, I know!" Varynna's buzzing, happy voice escapes the device.

Hanging on to the vox's camera, peering inside Lilith says, "Hi so they haven't purged you yet for gene therapies? Or do you just hide in the office all day?"

"I am a Lord Admiral of the Imperial Navy." Varynna answers, trying on a blue silken dress that slits down the side of both legs and dives near to her stomach on the front, filling the empty space with interlocking jewels. "And more than that, I am a Hero! Having faced the Arch-Enemy head on." She spins, letting the light fabric flutter up before falling to the ground.

"And that's what you're deciding to wear?" Lilith says with a smile, "Are you getting dressed up for us now?"

"You wish, no, I am getting dressed for my Victory Ball." She throws the dress off herself with a glare at it, "And I've worked through dozens of these."

Now, Lilith is incensed, "What the fuck, we were the heroes. We saved your ass, and beat back the" She rolled her eyes, and said in a mocking tone "ArcH-EnEMy. I even blew up that giant… Bird. Thing. Where's my ball?"

"You are my honoured guest, Lilith." She assuages, trying to pick between a scarlet and emerald dress shirt with a distaste clearly visible, "And, of course, plus one."

"Why not just come down and have our tailors make you something?" Lilith asks as she seems to churn through clothing, "The Queens adore tailoring."

Throwing the pricelessly expensive clothes away, she grumbles, "I have my own tailors. I just have to dress for Lord Guilliman, none of this is sufficient!" She throws another dress in light blue away, "I have to stand next to him! And not like a common harlot."

Lilith rolled her eyes at Varynna's dramatics, "That's more of an attitude thing then anything Varynna. Wear a Naval uniform or something, you're being honoured for a war… Thing. Is that so gauche?"

"But what if Lord Guilliman is considering marriage!?" She shouts at the room, "I have to bring my best face!" A dress is torn open as she has a moment, making her throw it aside.

Lilith turns to Ana, mouthing, There's no way that's happening right?

Ana shrugs, I have no idea, to be entirely honest, I thought Lord Guilliman was dead and it was a myth he was alive on Macragge flickers to Lilith's mind.

"You're going to marry your boss?" Lilith snickers, clearly seeing a point to prod, "Isn't that… Messy?"

"I hope it gets messy." Varynna smirks, responding affably. "But to be more serious, I do need to secure an alliance, and my last partner's been dead for a century and a half." She considers, "I'll have to see what my options are, I can entice a man easily enough."

"Hopefully better than you can with me," Is sent back, Lilith clearly enjoying the teasing once again.

"Of course, my dear Lilith, I won't be honest with them." The Admiral smiles as a pair of very tight navy blue pants are slipped on.

That slices at Lilith, and she tries to accept it with grace. "Have you considered sending me gifts instead? I'm very easily flattered by trinkets, bric-a-brac, and snacks. Ana and I had a talk, you might still have a chance if you actually step your game up to some level of..." She leans into the vox grinning, "Acceptable."

Clasping the buttons of a shirt tight before starting to fit a corset, she chuckles, "If I gave you jewellery, would you wear it for me?" The question is obviously entertaining to her, "A nice necklace, pair of earrings, nose ring?"

Knowing exactly what the Admiral has in mind Lilith responds, "I actually found one of those slip-chain necklaces? Going to get it engraved and wear that. Maybe the Earrings though if Ana doesn't have something more audacious planned."

"I wonder what other part I could get you to pierce?" Varynna wonders, starting to slip in the rainbow gems of her ear-studs. "But don't worry, I've sets for the both of you ready, pink and purple were the colours I chose. Seemed beautifully fitting."

"That's… Very sweet. Actually, thank you!" Lilith responds, "Even if it's like, over the top if it's matching I'm excited. What's our… Do you know what our like… Status? Will be? We have trillions of thrones now in hard cash and a noble's title, but I don't know what that means."

"Very poor and unimportant-Save, of course, for the fact that you are with me." The Lord Admiral assures, "A planetary noble consortium isn't overly important when the lords of the Imperium are gathering."

She looks to Ana for confirmation, who nods. "Oh… You know for a second I kind of thought I'd be a big shot for a bit. I think that was my fault honestly."

"They'll call you Lady~!" Varynna assures, "Speaking of that, I've had you two married. You are now Lilith Von Illar. Make sure to introduce yourself properly." There's an almost prodding tone to her, as if she's looking for a reaction.

Lilith raises an eyebrow, "You're losing your memory in your old age Varynna, you mentioned that weeks ago, but you're still invited to the ceremony."

Rolling her eyes as she rips the corset off, some small facet of the outfit displeasing her, "Well someone made my memory enhancers hit the floor a little while ago."

"I do have a habit of making women lose their mind, yes." Lilith snaps back, almost instantly.

"Shame I've kept mine, then." Varynna reacts just as fast, starting over with another outfit.

Then standing a couple steps back again from her lean, her arm disconnecting slightly to produce a pack of Iho sticks, and lights it taking a puff, then she looks at Varynna "Does it matter what we wear? Like… Color-wise? Or anything like that? A level of decenc— I guess Ana knows, nevermind I'll let her dress me." Before blowing smoke into the camera.

"So you get to see me naked, but I can't see you?" Varynna's head shake is audible, "For shame Lilith, such an unfair tormentress."

"You can watch us ban—" Lilith caught herself, before giving a quick apologetic glance to Ana, I won't finish that sentence. Why not? Ana responds, I don't care if she's jealous. "Oh, you can actually watch us bang if you want. You learn something new everyday."

"If I can't participate, I think I'll just be dissapointed." Varynna admits with a laugh, trying on crystal blue heels.

With a tight nod, trying to hold back, "Yeah, relatable, fear of me being disappointed is one of my biggest hurdles with you."

Dropping the crystal heel, Varynna curses as it shatters against the floor. "Ah. Point to you." She says evenly before the vox link cuts off.

"Oh shit," Lilith said out loud a tinge of fear colouring her voice, "I think I might have hit a nerve. I have a feeling we're going to pay for that later."

Ana looks at the dead screen with a mildly amused look, "She was very shaken by that. I think Varynna values your opinion, Lilith." The slight tremor of psychic essence leaves her eyes as she explains.

"That… Complicates things." Lilith admitted, scratching the back of her neck, "What if sometimes the hugs and stuff were her trying to be actually nice?"

Rolling her eyes, Ana says, "Then she's very bad at making clear what is what." She moves, hugging Lilith from the side, "And you shouldn't worry about what she's concocted as your relationship in her head."

Lilith tilted her lips a bit, knowing that Ana was right, but then… "What if it's because I have no concept of her status and power. So my opinion matters because it's unblemished by anything but what I see right now? That'd… I dunno, that's sad."

"It's…convincing, yes." There's still a hint of suspicion in Anastasia, but its small, just a distaste for the other woman, really. "We'll have all the time in the galaxy to figure it out, if we are travelling with her to the Ball."

Chewing on her lip for a moment, before pushing the thought out, Lilith says "I don't think I'm going to press that button again, that reaction was far more intense than I was expecting." Then tilting her head, "I think… I think I'd rather kill people than emotionally wound them."

Ana smiles, "You've a kindness to you, you know? I like it." Her words are honest, the sort of surety only a complimenting lover can have.

"It's easy, because I know you've got my back." The warmth she felt from Ana had filled her almost entirely, washing away any worries or doubts about other people in the world. "You make it easy to be vulnerable, I know you'll protect me."

"Always and forever, love." The Witch promises, sinking into the embrace she started.

Lilith returned the warmth in kind. Knowing she was embraced by her foundation, her hearth, her comfort, her Astropath, her Witch, her lover. Her everything.

The crystal shoe was easily cleaned up by servo skulls, as Varynna watches the other half of the vox, herself muted and silent. Tapping her foot ever so delicately as she pours herself a small glass of wine from a decanter. Her face is unreadable, the expression of a woman unobserved. The swarm link, leaking tiny parts of conversations from all over. Still her foot taps. Tap. Tap. Tap. Another sip.

Disappointed.

The tap grows forceful, a stomp. She stops, staring forwards with no clear expression, or maybe just something utterly empty inside her. Like a rote mechanism cranked back to life, the tap starts up again, wine glass pressing to her lips as carefully aged fruit starts to provide its dulling buzz, keeping the world further away.

Disappointed.

Something like oil hits Varynna's nose, the lights of the room darkening oddly before coming back to life. She stares at the wall, breath completely even, shoulders rising rhythmic. The glass crunches in her hand, shards spilling black blood onto the floor below, cleaned and sterilised by servo skulls.

Why are you a

An effort of will blanks her mind, a weight of experience blocking out memory and fury and aching emptiness, filling it with a smile, a mad look in her eyes and a bouncing, manic energy. Servo skulls pick the glass from her hand and the floor, making it all seem like a bad dream.

The vox-caster shows the two other women holding eachother, smiling and adoring in one another's company, and the void screams back to life, clawing its way past any attempt to stop it. The Lord Admiral is left staring.

Disappointment.

The ship awaits, a shuttle is landed, prepared to pick two women up.

Lilith and Anastasia are wearing matching necklaces. The design is a chain between two large gold hearts, engraved, Anastasia von Illar, and Lilith von Illar. The hearts have a large opening to pull the chain through, and the weight of the heart makes the necklace into almost a choker, though one that's easily tightened and released. Where the chains connect with the hearts are large emerald brooches, accenting nicely with the purple and pinks.

Lilith, deciding to wear something classy for once, had dressed up in stiletto heels, and a sharp suit. Charcoal grey cloth spun by the queens with very fine slightly off-grey blue lines running vertical up and down. Carefully tailored to be sharp, but still cinched to accentuate her curves. She wears fitted slacks, and has a folded kerchief in her breast coat pocket. The cufflinks, on one side, have an A, and I. While on the other have an L, and I. She wanted to feel… Branded, every piece of her clothing carefully chosen to depict who she belonged to.

Anastasia feels almost underdressed, robes worn loosely on her frame, letting the hood fall over her head, hair-thin tendrils showing just barely past the edges while glowing eyes emanate like bright orbs in the confines of the cloth. Lacking space for cufflinks, she's instead had A's and L's sewn into the edges of her hood, trusting that others will just assume it is arcane symbology.

Both of them are invited into the shuttle by the black-helmeted pilot, a familiar voice asking, "Dressing up early are we?" As the door slings open, ready for them.

There's an inhuman like sound that comes from the back of Lilith's throat just… kind of itchy. Oh, I'm… The extremely Jealous type I thi— Wait no. Looking closer at Zares, not speaking for an almost uncomfortably wrong amount of time. I think it's something… Else? She's… Still just staring at him unresponsive, before remembering how intense that comes off. "Uh sorry, I…"

She started to stare again for an even longer amount of time before a look of dawning realisation hits her, "Oh! I get it, I'm jealous of you because you're cool. Like, way cooler than me." She finally said out loud. "That's why that bothers me ok. Anyways Hi Zares how are you doing?"

"Taking the praise, mostly." Zares answers as both women load into the back, "I still don't get why anyone thinks that. I'm a glorified shuttle pilot." Pre-checks are rattled through quickly as he keeps talking in that slightly synthesised voice, "Last combat flight I went on, I nearly died. Not exactly a success story."

Cuddling Ana mostly for comfort, "You know exactly why don't worry, I'm not going to kill you. You're fine. I find it cool, because you're charming mostly. So anything that then surrounds that gets a bit elevated, THEN you add the whole combat thing and it's like. 'Oh wow man of danger,' but also the kind of, 'you know, it might be a very short fling if you're lucky-slash-unlucky.' Uh… No offence."

A slight shuddering which Lilith realises is him having muted his helmet vox to laugh inside it passes quickly, a press of a button on the side reactivating it, "I'm glad I…give off the aura of a…" Another tremor of laughter is muted, "A one night stand." This last smooth chuckle is let out of the helmet as fusion thrusters burn holes in the creep and rise into the sky.

I'm now over my jealousy with Zares now that I understand it, I think… Maybe. Lilith said in her mind.

Don't worry love, I'm not doing much more than listening to him speak. You said monogamous, no? Ana responds, mental voice tinged with amusement.

Lilith wraps her arms around Ana's waist, I said I had no idea how I'd feel, I believe. I want to corner Varynna and apologise. We've visited her three times, when has she like… Ever slipped instead of just chuckling?

Leaning into Lilith, Ana thinks, Never before. It's a tad worrying, after thinking it over. Just… be careful with her love.

Yeah, scary, but I think she's… Fragile. I think she actually wanted company and wasn't just saying that before the battle. I'm… I don't like it.
There's waves of regret, and concern emanating off Lilith, once again she feels… Vulnerable. Like she's falling into another trick, but the admiral doesn't lose unless she has too.

Roaring engines fade to nothing as the atmosphere is breached, clicking dials and buttons filling the shuttle as Zares gets the autopilot activated in a well-practised motion, the way he moves drawing Ana's eye for a split second before she picks something out of a port window to stare at.

Girl you got it bad. Lilith snorts, Be subtle.

Do you know how many novels have pilots like him!?
Ana asks, indignant, It's like he crawled out of a book and onto my lap!

Unless he's going to be at the party, you're going to have to stay behind in the shuttle then.
Lilith said making an internal decision before Ana could object, "Zares is it too late once you drop me off to double back, Ana forgot something kind of important. I'd ask you to go but… You know. Giant monst— Bio-servitors."

"Fueling procedures are only fifteen minutes, I can get back in the black just a minute after that if Lady Anastasia Von Illar is alright waiting?" He professionally asks, flipping open a gauge to check fuel status and confirm his mental mathematics. Ana turns to glare a hole in Lilith, burning straight through her in her mind's eye.

Holy shit you're going to kill me. Lilith decided eye contact would best be avoided, as she started to gain a brackish blush.

I'll start there. Ana threatens with a vicious mental growl.

Lilith is snickering, but still not making eye contact. You can seal the deal you got this.

The shuttle lands, docking with magnetic clamps as the doors open and crews come to service it, the docking bay much improved since last time. Bodies and blood stains removed with open holes into the void well-patched. "If you'd like, Lady Lilith Von Illar, you can just stay aboard while we go back. I wouldn't want any issues with me being alone with your wife." Zares tries to carefully avoid a fate, somehow, he's noticed is befalling him

"Hmmm? Oh I have immediate business with the admiral. You have fun," She smiles, and then in heels, try not to sprint away.

I'm going to kill you! Ana's mental voice chases Lilith as the shorter woman makes it off the shuttle, the door closing behind her.

We have eternity to kill each other, that guy has like… Another year tops. He's not bulletproof! Lilith says in her mind, as she quickly in her heels race up to the quarters of the Admiral, the hallways now extremely familiar. Especially guided by the swarm and the Admiral's oddly… strong signal for her. The emotion isn't… muddled, and Lilith now finds herself even more nervous. She's not sure if the swarm's connection is a boon or not in this instance. The doors open.

"Varynna?" Lilith asks when they close behind her, the woman in question standing before a mirror with an easy, plastic smile on her face, a new dress in a sheer black being tried on. Floor length and loose, it's got black onyxes worked into it, forming concealing sheets across the parts of the body that need to be hidden, "Oh you look… It was worth—" Lilith gulped then scrunched her face up at how audible it was. "Damn."

Then Lilith's eyes hit the smile, and her face fell visibly, she frowned a bit. "We're uh… Connected. Varynna." She let the statement stand on its own.

"Whatever do you mean, Lady von Illar?" The Lord Admiral responds, the same plastic smile as she turns to face the other woman, dress picking up off the floor, almost floating for a second.

Lilith, frowns now, fully. "I… You're… Sad." Lilith says weirdly upset, "I actually tricked Ana to go back with Zares so I could… Come apologise. You reacted in a way that didn't… It was mean, it wasn't fun. I'm not going to say something like that again, I don't need to know why it bothered you. I'd… Rather kill someone than attack their feelings." Repeating what she told Ana, thinking about how sweet Ana said it was. "You've got the uh… You look amazing though."

"You've gotten your point Lilith. I assure you, I won't be making that one back." Varynna's let a very faux polite tone slip over her words as she claps her hands infront of her in the picture-perfect image of a lady, pale skin and makeup all working together to make her somehow prettier. "But I'm afraid an apology is…far less than what the errant comment caused."

"I'm aware, part of why I sent Ana away is so she couldn't… Gloat. I…" She takes a deep breath, "Do you know… Why I offered to let you into the swarm. When you saved me and my Queen?"

The plastic is being tested, a frown beginning to move on Varynna's face as contact continues. "I couldn't tell you. I assume you'll say?"

"You made me feel safe, when I was sitting there. Holding her. I don't know if you flit around the swarm at all. You're… Smart, and when you're not gutting me, I like being around you." Lilith isn't trying to make eye contact, knowing how… Fake her earnesty must sound. "I actually want to… I'm glad you're here with us. Not just as an asset. The teasing is nice, I don't want to be hurtful."

"I just wanted to…show I could do it." The plastic cracks, and a frown settles on her face, single remaining eye staring at Lilith with uneasy energy, "Show that I wasn't…" It trails off into nothing, drifting words condemned to the recesses of her mind.

Ok you were on target, how do you make her feel better? I'm a monster… Lilith thought to herself. "I know I'm supposed too, but I don't… See you as a Lord Admiral, I see you as a part of my family. A permanent part, I wouldn't choose that, and if you remember I was the one who chose that, if I didn't think you'd be…" She tried to find the words, "Good? Fun? Nice doesn't seem quite right… You seemed worth pissing off an entire plasma cannonade to make a part of us. Up until that moment where I fucked up, I was ecstatic."

The Lord Admiral was silent, and Lilith chose to continue.

"You hugging me, made me realise I should put my faith in someone who will give me a hug. I uh…" She talks too much Lilith realises.

"I don't get that, do I." Varynna mumbles, starting to stare off, vanishing from the here and going somewhere else.

"A hug? I'm talking about why I killed my Queen actually. Her and Anastasia were having a," Lilith looks and Varynna, and realising that there's a good chance that she'll have a hole blown into her walks up, and hugs Varynna, maybe stupidly. It didn't matter, she could get hurt a hundred times, and she'd fall for it just the same for the chance to comfort someone. "I was talking about my Queen, Varynna, not you."

Returning from wherever she was, her gaze tilts up to look at Lilith, "I was talking about faith, Lilith."

"I know. I only act half as smart as I really I am," Lilith whispers, "My Queen lost my faith because she couldn't even pretend to show affection. You … You can't imag— I don't know your life story. It was bad, for a while, for me."

"I tried, everything I've done was me trying." There's something empty in Varynna. "But there's nothing there, I don't think there ever was." It's a void that can be heard in her words, in her voice.

"I realise that now," Lilith is still whispering, "That's never stopped me from loving someone before. It won't no— Ana is going to kill one of us now you realise." She snorts, "I… I… You did an insane amount of stuff for us, and I took it entirely for granted. You—" Frustration wracks Lilith as a hundred words try to all come out at once. "You didn't do anything to hurt me, besides saying you got a point for making me have a feeling. I took that entirely wrong, that's not your fault. You could have destroyed me a thousand times over, and you chose not too every time."

Varynna keeps looking at Lilith, "It's like raindrops, now. So many have loved me." The Swarm link flutters with memories of faces, clear and crisp going back through dozens, hundreds, thousands. A feeling tied to each one, an iron burden growing with each one. "I always lose them. Sometimes before I could even ha–"

She can't help it Lilith just hugs her tighter, "God fucking damnit." She whispers, "It's never too late to care about someone. No matter how many before, or how many after. You have forever now." An even quieter whisper, "We have nowhere to be lost too."

"None of us have forever, Lilith." She says, very quietly. "Especially not me." The raindrops form, a tear slips free from her eye.

"Who gets to decide that? Because I'm the one who gives out these gifts." Lilith whispers looking at her, grabbing her hand, "I don't… Know. What's wrong, but I do know that if you are with me. If you are with our family." She gestures to the trillions of minds on and orbiting the planet, to Ana somewhere in the distance, "You're going to get as near to forever as we get. Enjoy it, it's a gift for making me feel loved when I was ignoring someone who cared about me, and being ignored about someone who I cared about. You get this." She almost drags Varynna to her own window to the sun, to the planet in the distance beneath them. "And you get this." Lilith puts Varynna's hand on her chest. "Because whatever you… Think. you didn't feel, you made me feel loved. You made me realise why it was important."

"Thank you Lilith." A tiny smile is on her face, something honest, something human, "I…I can take that with me, I think." She looks at the star in the distance.

"You think Zares is stupid enough to turn down Anastasia?" Lilith said, "Because I desperately am hoping she's distracted right now."

"I don't look into my pilots preferences in partners, Lilith." The smile grows at the humour, still letting the sun reflect in her eye, the burning orange ball of fusion, the primal element of creation she's grown so used to ignoring.

Lilith looks at her, putting an arm around her shoulders, "I think I might be a bit of a mess Varynna, but I've been happy since you joined. Also, I'm pretty sure if Ana and Zares fuck, we can if that was something you were actually interested in."

She tilts her head, "You know, despite my jokes…I haven't had sex in… decades." A flash of memory, of a face now gone. It makes her stare at the star again, letting it wash away.

"I went three weeks and almost like… Attacked someone. Honestly respect." Lilith says, "Is that not the first thing you'd do once you were at a hundred-percent?" Lilith then processed what she said, trying to really think about what was being told to her. "Ah, nevermind."

"It's about love, not feeling for me." She puts her head against Lilith's side, "It's funny, at any point you could have called my bluff on that." Varynna smirks, "I think I'll call that a point."

"Call it two, the first thing I did after that trip was fix plumbing in the city to make running shower-heads." She sighs as a real laugh is pulled out of Varynna, not the crystal, but more human and flawed.

"Zares might be…attracted to men, as a warning." Varynna admits, a little entertained.

"NOoo… NOOOoooo!" Lilith said, suddenly panicked, "Zares said 'Ms. von Illar are you sure you're ok with me traveling with your wife alone' I said 'have. fun.' Do you have any idea how fucked I am?"

"Can I watch?" The Admiral's smile is broad as she tries to hold back more laughter.

"I think the violence is so extreme that the entire Swarm will be forced to watch." Lilith said with a morose laugh, eyes looking out in panic.

Fuel pumps disconnect as hissing coolant escapes for a split second, residue turning to a fog whilst ports are closed up tight. Zares taps away at buttons and switches in a staccato beat, so quick and keen that its nearly unending until he suddenly is done. Fusion thrusters pushing the craft into the black in a jolt of power.

"Lady Von Illar, if you don't mind me asking, what did you forget?" The almost synthetic of Zares's voice is still calm, even set up as he was.

Anastasia groaned, taking a deep breath, "A bolter, to shoot Lilith with."

A shifted control stick turns the shuttle onto the correct course as he speaks, "Doesn't seem my place to ask, then." He obviously asks.

Gritting her teeth only slightly, Lilith did have a point about chances, "Also a uh… A ride?"

Tilting his helmet, Zares takes a second, "I think we've gotten off on the wrong foot, Lady Von Illar." He carefully says, trying to figure out what sort of game he's in.

"You've been great," Anastasia finds herself starting to warm up a bit, "I'm more than happy to" Anastasia struggles to find the word, "Improve relations?"

"Are you flirting with me, Lady?" He asks directly, autopilot finally taking over fully.

Anastasia asked, with the precision of a hammer, "Is that a problem?"

The helmet hides any reaction, only the pilot's words giving any avenue of approach, "Is it, Lady Von Illar?" He pointedly asks, trying to suss out if he's being used for something.

"Depends on what you want, Pilot Zares." Ana said, leaning forward just a tad.

There's a long moment before Zares finally answers, "Am I being asked…or told."

Anastasia took a deep breath, "Asked, Lilith hasn't been doing this long."

A relief passes over the pilot, immediately. "Alright, I… get that more often than I'd like." He confesses, starting to press claps on his helmet, "Can we talk before anything…else?" Zare's is still careful.

"Yes, that's what we're doing now," Anastasia said, "I said one thing." She was glaring a bit.

"You hold the power here, Anastasia." He chuckles, helmet slipping off and revealing short blonde hair.

This hit Anastasia oddly, she normally didn't have the power, "I wasn't aware." Was it sarcasm? It should have been, but definitely didn't feel like it.

"I'm not saying no, just to be clear." He raises a gloved hand to stop any complaints, "But just so you are aware, my normal fare is…well, men." Zares admits with a calm voice.

"Then I'm saying… No." Anastasia said clearly, trying to make sure she was crystal clear. "Then we also don't need to pick anything up planetside." She was turning a deep, ruddy colour. As black blush fills her face.

"Now," He focuses on Ana with a slight interest, or concern perhaps. "Are you rejecting this whole thing, or are you nervous?" The way he still keeps everything about his face even and unthreatening is a miraculous skill, expressing emotion but not letting it be overwhelming.

"I'm rejecting… Forcing, anything. My wife… Made assumptions about both of us." She said, desperately trying not to look at Zares. "If… This isn't your fare, I don't… Want a ride." I'm going to kill Lilith, I'm going to murder her, I'm going to RIP off her

"How about we take ten steps back." He gently moves the shuttle into a turn, eyes flickering a thousand places to keep track of the shuttle's movements, "And go to the officers bar for a drink first?"

"I feel… Rage… In the swarm," Lilith whispers. "It's approaching."

Tentacle Sex

Lilith seemed to repeatedly put herself in situations, where psykers were trying to kill her. "Come here you little worm," Anastasia barked, "I'm going to vent you into the sun." Varynna had found her way to the top balcony, as Lilith did her best to avoid Anastasia without breaking a heel.

"What happened?" Lilith asked, already well aware, "Did…"

"Gay. Lilith. He's gay." Anastasia finally had enough and grasped Lilith with her mind through the warp, and dragged her to Anastasia's side. "He thought he was being forced to have sex with me. I'd use a euphemism, but you've proven you're an idiot."

"Why would he think that?! Why would anyone think that?!" Shock and horror coloured her face as she looked at Ana, "That's awful, Ana."

"Because he was suddenly shoved into a shuttle with a planetary noble!" Ana growls out, "A psychic noble."

Trying to shrink as Ana loomed over her, she gasped out, "I didn't fuck Varynna! So, we're both in the clear!"

"He wanted to get a drink!" Anastasia almost shouts, "A drink!?" It's a baffled sort of exclamation.

"Drinks… Are nice? Why does being a psychic noble matter? It sounds like you had a lovely time!" Lilith was trying her normal barrage of dozen arguments.

"I'M GOING TO STRANGLE YOU!" The Witch roars out, going for Lilith again as she loses psychic focus, hands reaching out for her lover.

Lilith contracts and slips out of her shoes with envious ease as she suddenly sprints across the room. "I wanted you to have a nice night is that really such a cri— Uh-oh." Lilith had to quickly duck as the psyker fired a chair across the room.

"Break my furniture, I break you~!" Varynna calls from the balcony, smiling at the show with a wine glass in her hands, black dress hugging her leaning figure distractingly.

"Varynna didn't even want too! I'm not her type!" Lilith says, trying to defuse the situation, "Tell her Varynna."

"YOU PUT ME IN THAT SHUTTLE AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN GET REJECTED!?" She throws another chair clear across the room as the chase somehow gets even faster.

This time, Lilith reaches out to catch it before it slams against a wall. "Neither of us got rejected really!" she yelps, feeling distinctly confined in her dress.

"That's not true, you are my type!" Varynna feeds fuel to the fire affably, refusing to let it cool off.

Lilith decided to try approaching calmly, "Ana, honey, don't you remember how much yo—" She was interrupted by a hand clasped around her throat lifting her. "—ve me." She tried to finish the sentence in a choked gasp,

"I think I prefer the choking right now, love." Ana whispers quietly, little flickers of rage making it somehow more seductive. Varynna's eyebrow quirks.

As Lilith gasps and Ana's words enter her mind, she makes what could only be interpreted as a small moan.

Ana drops her immediately, with a look of annoyance and disgust. "God Emperor damnit Lilith." She steps over the crumpled woman. "When are you going to start thinking?!"

"I was thinking." Lilith said as her windpipe and lungs started to heal. "Not… Not my best thoughts but they were there." Another wheezy ragged breath, "Why does being a psychic, planetary noble matter?"

"It's usually a socially, and physically unhealthy decision to reject someone that can ruin your life." Varynna explains from the balcony.

Lilith looks up at her on her balcony confused, "I do it constantly and it seems to work out fine." Then gesturing to Ana and Varynna, "Neither of you have hurt me… Much."

"I should see about fixing that." Ana annoyedly mumbles, hand clenching with desire to continue throttling Lilith, but the heat is dying quickly enough. Varynna shrugs, "If I recall, in the last half hour you said plenty of things to the contrary for me."

Ana immediately glares at her, "What…sort of things?" Making Varynna grin again.

"That she's part of our family in the swarm and that I was sorry and if you and Zares hit it off, then it was probably ok for us too." Lilith said quickly, throwing Zares out to get the attention away from Varynna. "Nothing untrue!"

"I'm going to make you sorry later." Ana grumbles, sitting at a chair and pouring herself a drink.

"Promise," Lilith said, leaning in to peck her and getting an aggressive hand in the face. "Who's taking us to the ball by the way?"

The ship moves at that question, vast thrusters rumbling to a loud and terrifying life. "We'll be going to the Mandeville point, and then, warp!" Varynn chuckles.

"Wait, wait, we need to get a hatchery on the ship. Right now." Lilith said suddenly, very scared, "Give the… Belay. The halt. The stop!"

"A…hatchery, on my ship." Varynna questions.

"OR our behemoth has one, we can call it ours, or the Leviathan," She says suddenly, "We need a place for our essence to go if we die or else we just go all the way back to the swarm."

Ana's eyes are closed, but she says "I'm having the Behemoth follow. They'll assume it's… wildlife." A sigh follows that, and then another drink of the whiskey she's found. An expensive brand just from the bottle she's pouring from

"Please share," Lilith said, snatching the bottle before Ana can react. Then placing back down with in reach after pouring her own glass.

The ship gains speed fast, rumbling through the system in minutes and arriving to the outer edge as it does. A second rattling rumble passes through the warmachine as everyone can taste a strange flavour on their tongues, it overpowers any taste of liquor, and then the Warp invades reality.

Flickering purple colours the halls for just a second, a half second really before a field that splits Lilith and Ana from anything outside of the ship, carving off the Swarm as it pushes out the Warp, enforcing normalised reality.

Varynna blinks, "Odd, Gellar Fields must have received damage." Her face is slightly concerned, but not terribly so. "Well we are alive, so it can't be broken, nothing to worry about!" Varynna jokes, leaning back onto the railings as she continues to sip at her wine.

"What do you mean? We've warped without… Those on the Behemoth," Lilith says, gesturing to Ana. "What's Gellar Field?"

"Huh, I suppose it's because the Behemoth is alive." The Admiral considers, "If you do that on one of these, well~" She laughs darkly, "Up becomes down, you'll start to taste purple, and the walls might want to eat you."

With a far more knowing nod than should be possible, Lilith added, "We had little tabs of paper that did that back home." Before looking at Ana, somewhat guilty, "I uh… Sorry, I didn't mean to embarrass you."

Taking a final drink before pushing the glass away from herself, Ana sighs, the touch of liquor making her far…calmer. "I know love. Your mouth just… runs ahead of your head sometimes." She smiles at Lilith with a much different mood. What was that whiskey?

Lilith's eyes quickly fire to the bottle, looking for a label or some sort of… mark, a little concerned after everything else she had heard about The Imperium. Making a slow reach for it, her hand sliding across the desk touching the ornate bottle. "Varynna, what kind of drugs does the Imperium have? Unofficially I mean?" She held it up as Ana was, staring in a way that made her suddenly concerned.

She leans further on the rail, trying to see the bottle first hand, "That, I believe, was dosed with shavings of grinweed. Perfectly safe!" The Admiral jokes, "You shouldn't touch my bottles without asking, some of them are much less safe."

"That's the stuff in Iho sticks right?" She asks less concerned, the grip on her heart lessening a bit.

"Its to lho-leaf what a bolter is to a stub revolver." Varynna starts to make her way down the stairs, bare foot as she refuses to wear heels until she has too. "I imagine Anastasia is very suggestible right now."

"Then we should get you some water and to lie down," Lilith said quietly to Ana, looking at her, "Ok? You drank… You're hearing all this, go lie down." It was far more forceful than Lilith normally used, a command, something she rarely did.

"Are you telling me what to do?" Ana teases, hazy eyes and tiny grin mixing to a striking difference from her norm, "I think I like it." The whisper is deep, almost gravely.

She puts her hand on Ana's, "Yes, and next time there will be more orders, we'll both drink it, but I don't know nearly enough about this to even consider anything. You're under the influence, and I trust Varynna, but not comfortable until I try it myself and know what's going on." She's very firm in tone, taking a deep breath.

"Fiiiine." Ana stumbles to her feet, making it the six steps to a couch before collapsing on it. From her face deeply nestled into a pillow, she mumbles something about a kiss.

Walking over to Anastasia, she gives her a gentle peck on the cheek, "I love you." Then stepping away, looking around for the heels she had flung herself out of during the chase. "I think I was the only one unaware that Ultramar was so far away. I thought I had to be like ready ready."

Varynna finally arrives, taking the whiskey bottle and downing four gulps before putting it down, "We should get there in between two hours and five days. Probably closer to the first though." She answers the question, "It's not far, the warp route is winding and aggravating."

"What does it mean about me, that now suddenly I want to talk about work?" Lilith groans, collapsing her body into a spindle, slipping out of her clothes and quickly folding them in a gentle stack back on the table. "Clothes are awful after years of not wearing them." She explains.

"I'd say I agree, but this." She looks down at the black dress, "Doesn't feel like wearing much at all." Varynna's smile is warm, likely assisted by the grinweed, but far and away less affected than Ana. "What do you mean work? The ball?"

Now cut off from the swarm, entirely in a way that was new and exciting, Lilith felt like she could let some walls down. She relaxed her posture a bit, let her body move a bit more almost unnatural, taking a deep breath, the swarm link between the three of them showing Lilith fading to a very dull spark. The swarm was on her mind. Now that Kerrigan was out of the way, and Ana was indispensable Lilith had started getting… Ideas. Especially when it came to battle, especially as she continued to rebuild her little centre on Illar. The imperium had many things, things she hadn't thought about wanting to give to someone. Things that made Ana happy.

"I'm part of a hivemind that votes on their leaders. Technically I'm a diplomat. So… Yeah, the ball. How to get into more battles. I want to give her things, things we can't make. Things I see in the Imperium when I'm scavenging. I… Kind of want to give you things as well." Her carapace clicked and squealed as a small geode, carved with care in the shape of a flower, or possibly a sunken colony. No-one probably knew the significance of the shape, but that's what made the gift… Fun for Lilith. "I've been cracking open rocks, making little carvings since I learned about your sculpting. " She put it on the table, before stepping back again. "I think that's another point for you unfortunately."

Taking the gift, she looks at it with an honest surprised joy, "I'll certainly take both this and the point." Varynna pulls her own necklace off, a blue-gemmed thing that was clad in gold with a silvery-steel underpinning. "Now, can it go on a lace?" She starts to try and find a hole to slip the chain through.

Lilith walks over, quietly touching her hand, wincing at the sparks that she was feeling. Trying desperately to control the hymn, demanding it stay as it is. She gently plucks the stone, and with razor sharp zerg steel, she shaves tiny layers of the geode of unknown material off until there was a hollow with a thick bar that allowed it to be put on a necklace. "I'm honestly, really glad I've spent my entire time here Sequencing. It's actually insane how useful it is." Trying to break the moment, snap it as the vulnerability from before now rushes up to her. She has an even lighter touch when she puts it back in Varynna's hand.

Varynna keeps the happy look on her face as she slips the chain through and, looking Lilith in her eyes, slowly pulls the necklace around her neck, and clasps it shut with an audible click of metal on metal. "Does it look…nice?" She trails fingers down the chain until they rest just below the flower-gem, black onyx vibrant on her porcelain skin.

"Amazing," Lilith said, "Though honestly, I'm not sure what any of us could wear that'd actually look bad." She gestured to Ana on the couch. Not sure if it was a sign to Varynna or a reminder to herself.

Another step closer in, and Varynna is now moments away from touch. "You're very sweet." She says quietly, "I'd forget about… work and focus on that. Being sweet is rare." The advice seems almost like… A confession, something admitted rather than given.

The words hit at a small wound, Lilith didn't know she had, like lemon on a nicked palm. "I am not… Sweet." Lilith said, the word rattling around inside her, the bullet of a word not strong enough to pierce bone and exit instead simply liquifying her insides.

"You are sweet to me." The Admiral tilts her head, looking up at Lilith with a glimmer of something in her eye.

She shook her head again, falling inwards a bit. "I… I tried to force something. It got Ana and Kerrigan at each other's throats. I couldn't choose so I kept upping the stakes hoping… Hoping one of them would give. It became a fight to the… I used things Kerrigan gave me to tear her down and kill her. I used tricks I could only have done because she trusted me." Not even willing to say it, she reveals conversations with Abathur on their small link. The Thanatomanic drive, Manth's ability to pass and bring up feelings of trauma. The blood magic so she could kill Kerrigan's essence before it could go back to the hive.

Varynna's hand on Lilith's cheek is a jolt, dragging the other woman back to reality. "You did what you did for love. I call that sweet, loving, beautiful." The steel of an Admiral, of a woman who has faced death head on over and over again backs the words.

"I just so desperately wanted them to figure it out, Ana moved heaven and Earth to make it work, but Kerrigan… Didn't. She had her own shit to work through that was too important. Too important than showing me affection, too important than working with us, too important that she would get the swarm killed or near it constantly." There's a huffy sad choke, as she tries not to let the guilt come spilling out, but the sandbag had already been cut.

There was no stopping the weight from falling now. "She was stupidly vengeful. Imagine trying to kill another admiral who wasn't you, or someone else while an entire fleet could crack your planet. The constant tantrums… I loved her despite all that, but she didn't care enough to make it work. She didn't care enough to even look into why I was hurting and lonely." Then she realised quieter, "I think that's… Why I thought you were trying to hurt me by being nice. I was ignoring Ana, and trying desperately to crack through to a woman I don't think actually cared."

"I can't give words of comfort worthy of that pain, Lilith." Varynna speaks softly, stroking her thumb on Lilith's jaw. "But I can tell you-despite all of that, you are sweet. Because you still cared, you cared where anyone else would turn to venom." The look in her eye is of a deeply submerged memory threatening to spill out, "You are the kindest woman I've met, for better or worse." She smiles up at Lilith again, "So stop trying to fight my compliments, hmm?"

Without warning, maybe too fast considering Zerg physiology, the kind of inhumanly fast that tears men to shreds before their neurons are aware they're being split, Lilith steals Varynna from her place, wrapping her in an embrace. "I've been scared to tell Ana how hard it was for me." She says quietly, "I don't want her to think less of me. I still want people to think I'm perfect. Even if I'm not." She's got her hand on the back of Varynna's head forcing it into her chest and squeezing tight. Her teeth gritting from the raw emotion, because everything was nice and she just needed to put these feelings to bed and move on.

"You judge yourself worse than anyone else ever could, dear Lilith." Varynna mumbles through the aforementioned woman's chest. Wrapping her arms around her waist and continuing, "But if you keep pulling me this close, I might bite~." She threatens, breaking some tension.

"Sorry," she says quietly, not letting go, but loosening how hard she was hugging Varynna, though still careful not to tear into her delicate clothes with her talons. This attempt to loosen is quickly cut short by Varynna pulling in closer. "I thought you didn't mind that." She teases, looking up through her hair at Lilith.

The hug is still warm, still tight, but Lilith's mouth freezes as it tries to find words. The Lord Admiral's light flirting, even that, had managed to tear at the ever-thinning cloth of her self-control. "I uh…"She spends more time trying to catch herself, "I— Are you aware at all how attractive you are?" It was something, she guessed, maybe an awkward escape. "It's very disarming."

"Not at all." Varynna smirks, "Tell me, Lilith." She tempts with a low whisper, playing this game of seduction with expertise, tilting herself slightly forwards to hang off Lilith. "How pretty am I?"

That's probably not a great ide— "Your eyes… Slice, cut me down until I'm thousands of layers. It feels like… You already know what I'm going to say. It makes it easier to say it." Okay, yeah fuck it, ignore your brain, she grabs the Admiral's thigh, then panics, and immediately lets go. "Oh.. ho… ho… Oooo-kay. I uh I need to step back. Conversation first. Trust First…. Relationships… Love, Lust?" Kind of musing, figuring out her own moral code.

Biting her bottom lip hard enough that its still puffy when Lilith lets go, Varynna nods, "We…are getting excited." She breathes out, a whisper full of heat. "Maybe we should…sit." She leans back, sitting on the table behind her, somehow managing to once again present a sight as she puts both hands to steady herself and doesn't cross her legs.

"Haaaaaah." Lilith lets out a sigh of relief, "I probably should have better considered what stripping to carapace does for… Touch and sight." She says trying not to peek at anything Varynna was doing, now very aware of what Lilith had done. "What is the closest thing to water on this table?" She says desperately looking at the liquids around her.

Reaching quickly to snatch the pitcher, Varynna places it on her legs with a smirk, "Right here Lilith." The smirk grows to a playful smile, "Do you want a….taste?" She gently gestures with the pitcher at the other woman, knowing exactly what she is doing now.

From her shin, a tiny tendril unfurls, reaching out for the pitcher, while Lilith made nervous eye contact. Trying not to let slip she was going to try and take it. Then… She pulled it back, realising how much worse this would get for her if things were drenched in water. She nods, "But… From a glass." Lilith said well aware of the next scene of events.

Varynna pours water into a glass, and then rests that on her legs. Her grin wicked watching Lilith debate where the line technically was, versus where it actually was. Whether the action would sound bad compared to what it represented. Whether Varynna's line was even further than that.

With a shuddering breath, Lilith stood up, pushing her chair back, to the shocked glee of Varynna. Without speaking, walked slowly, very slowly. With Zerg grace and strength slid Varynna's chair back as if it were floating, giving herself room to kneel. Then, on her knees, with both arms gripping the sides of the chair, opened her mouth with a smile.

Varynna is staring intently at Lilith, breath slightly quickening. "I t-think I'm being outdone." She admits, before leaning forwards and gently tilting the glass to Lilith's mouth. "We can fix that." She lowers her voice and smirks as the other woman drinks.

In an odd reversal, Lilith reaches for the glass, and puts it on the table seeing a flicker of something in the Admiral's eyes. Then straddles her, much as Varynna had done to her weeks before. Leaning in very closely she put a hand on the side of the Admiral's face, she didn't say anything. Something stowing the words for once. Instead leaning in very very close. She just… Gazed at Varynna. The grin huge and feral once again. Razor sharp teeth glistening in the light of the ship.

Varynna stares back, the moment catching her by surprise. She stares at Lilith's eyes, searching for something, whether in herself or Lilith it wasn't clear. "I don't know." Varynna speaks, to herself more than the other woman. "I want you, Lilith, but…"

"I do too~" Lilith tilts, getting off quickly, grimacing as she looks to where her sweat left marks on Varynna's dress. "With me unfortunately however, I need enthusiasm, not acquiescence. No buts." She stood up again, and slowly sauntered back to her chair. Taking the pitcher with her. "I'm dangerous when I stop talking."

"Now I feel as if I ruined the mood." Varynna tilts her head to watch Lilith saunter away, shoulders rising and falling in steady breaths.

Lilith pours herself a glass and drinks it, but her hand is clearly shaking as the water vibrates in the glass with ripples as she brings it up to her mouth. "I think I pushed myself a bit further than I realised." Her mouth now open again, taking away the small victory. Before she quickly fills the glass again, trying to calm herself. Another glass. Half the pitcher gone in a minute. Trying desperately to find a centre.

She slides off her seat, shaking slightly as well-stopping as Lilith interrupts.

Lilith immediately yelps, "Point, point. I will leap over this table at this point holy shit— You are— the minute I talk to Ana. It wasn't clear when we last left off."

Varynna collapses back into her own chair with a harsh breath and a shudder through her. "God Emperor above, you are stubborn." Her hand shakes, tapping the arm of the chair incessantly as she tries to get the energy out. Recovering, she smiles confidently, still shaking, "I'm going to cherish this memory, I hope you realise."

Gasps, ragged gasps, "I'm very cherishable I've been told." Trying desperately to think of anything else. "I'm so… I've…" The words don't really come. "Aaagh." Just a noise a growl or maybe a moan of anguish, "Ok. I'm good. I'm fine, everything is fine." She looks finally back at Anastasia.

"I want to jump on you now." Varynna pipes up from her seat, "I haven't wanted that in decades." It's a surprised statement, coming from a place of wonderment and enjoyment at the tingling that builds whilst she thinks about it.

"You know, I so desperately want to say 'Lets wait and really make it worth it,' but if I get anywhere near flirting I'm going to have to play dead as my final defence option." Lilith still hasn't turned away from Anastasia. "Is she knocked out, or just silently observing to— Are you knocked out Ana, or just testing how far I'll go?"

"I was sleepy." Ana shifts, getting her face out to look at the two women, "And then you two throwing more lust into the Swarm than I've seen ever fixed that."

"Bullshit 'ever' there was that time you shot me with the bolter and you aimed too high and my head popped." Lilith said, quickly correcting her.

Blushing scarlet, "I w-wasn't paying attention to the Swar-That was supposed to be secret!" Ana shouts at Lilith, pulling herself off the couch with a small stumble.

"Oh, you should make that explicit, do you not see how open and honest I am? With everyone?" Lilith says, leaping across the room, twenty feet in almost an instant, to catch her. Then… She winced at her own words. "What was… The first thing you remember me saying?"

"Something about sweet." She mumbles, sitting back down as the grinweed still has its effects. "And then whispers, and then this."

"I almost won this time though, or… Almost really really lost." Lilith admits, "I unpacked some stuff, and I need to talk to you when we're both in the right head-space. Anyways, maybe watch what you're drinking before you pick up random bottles off a table in the home of a nine-hundred year-old hedonist with a heart of gold. It will end in ruination." Then thinking, "Or I guess her heart is now flesh again, point still stands."

"The compliment was nice." Varynna comments whilst Ana shakes her head, speaking immediately after, "I'm fine, just need another few minutes. Not my first grinweed." She tries standing again, managing to keep on her feet and walk over to Lilith, nearly falling on her trying to grab at the water pitcher.

As Lilith catches her again she says, "Oh yeah, you look it. I think it's your fine motor skills that are impressing me the most right now." Before pouring her a glass with tendrils and handing it to her. "Are the drinks gonna be normal at this thing?" Lilith looks at Varynna with concern.

"Lord Guilliman isn't a fan of tremendous excess hedonism. It'll be reserved, in all likelihood, wine and song and food and pretty faces, but very little if any drugs and open sex." The Admiral answers.

"Oh thank god, if I get to meet him, I'm starting to think I'm going to really like him." Lilith admits, "It's the first person I've heard of here that… No offence to either of you, doesn't sound immediately, obviously, fucked up."

"Fuck you," Ana mumbles as she takes another sip of water.

"Everyone likes him, or they aren't in power long." Varynna chuckles, "I'll go check on the Navigator's pace, dears, have fun alone for a little while!" She stands up, shakily getting into her shoes.

"More or less than twenty minutes," She asks looking at Anastasia suddenly.

"Have you seen a navigator's quarters?" Varynna questions with a smirk. "I'll be lucky if I can muster the will to leave in an hour." The doors push open as she finally gets the last heel on and leaves the two women alone.

"You good?" Lilith asks looking at Anastasia, worried, "I still don't know what a lot of this shit is. You start taking magic laughing juice and I freak." Then she bites the tip of her tongue off, spitting it out, letting it re-heal, blood pooling out of the corner of her lips. "That's not the right way to say that. What I meant was sorry. I should have said sorry, not try to make it sound like you fucked up."

Ana shifts, sitting on Lilith's lap as she talks. Given a moment to respond, "Its a common narcotic love. Stop worrying so much." Nestling into her lovers body, she sighs, "I didn't notice the blame, if it makes it better."

"Ah, good." She says quietly, "I worry because there's only one Anastasia von Illar in the world. I can't lose that." She squeezes Ana hard putting her head into Ana's chest. "I uhhh… She seemed to like the little carving more than I realised. I'm starting to think I'm a bit charming."

Anastasia snorted, looking back at Lilith then. "Maybe in a very specific set of circumstances, love." Then she gives her a gentle kiss on the head. Quieter she said, "I heard everything."

"Okay." Lilith said, dead even, unreactive, unflinching. "Do you want to talk about it?

"Yes." Ana answers, letting the gleam slip from her eyes, "I want to talk about everything with you. Do you want to talk about it?" A question with a question, the Witch starting to slip free.

Lilith takes the glass, drinking it as well. "Probably should, with… I'd like you to… Get it, on a more conceptual level." She says, noticing the shift. "A deeper insight would be appreciated. Abathur and I worked on the infested genome to… be able to engage, essentially a powerful urge to self destruct. As far as I know, it was only put in the Queen of Blades."

"A kill-switch." Ana fills in the gaps, "I'm familiar with the concept."

Lilith nods, not looking, "It… Was a precaution, in case the meeting went… Poorly. I kept waffling trying to get her to do what I want, but instead she ended up trying to kill you. It's part of what made me realise I'm not great at this. I feel guilty that I kept trying to make it work and toed so close to a line that'd have robbed me of everything."

Anastasia shakes her head, "You had to wait, Lilith." Shifting to look at Lilith head on, straddling her on the chair, barely fitting the both of them, "If you hurt your heart for me-Well." She carefully looks at Lilith's eyes, a gleaming fire starting to boil over in them, "I'd rather die than have you sacrifice for me, you had to wait, until you weren't given a choice."

"You loved Kerrigan, I know that it hurt deeply to have to do that, and I know…" The fire turns to a flare in her gaze, "I know that you almost didn't. It doesn't matter, because you chose me, and that's all I ever wanted."

"Even if you knew, I should have said something. That's all, really. I'm not sure if you want to talk about Varynna right now. I think… She knows she'd be second, but I also think she's into me on an emotional level. It's— I still don't know what it is? I keep toeing that line as well."

"If you don't want to talk about her." She leans down pushing Lilith a little away so her mouth can hover above Lilith's ear, "We can occupy ourselves other ways." Ana whispers slowly and sensually, letting her voice almost growl.

After so much teasing Lilith wasn't sure there was a world where she'd not have taken the chance. Tendrils bind Anastasia to the floor grabbing her ankles and wrists forcing with all their might to pin her. Lilith crawls over the panicked psyker, and now far beyond anything nearing thought. simply bites taking a large chunk out of Ana's neck, larger than her jaw could accomodate, before in the ragged searing pain she locked her lips to Ana's and tried to steal from her. Steal her breath, steal her senses, steal her love, her core, her being, her essence. She neeeded it, in fact, it was already hers.

Completely unaware, almost unthinking of the effect she might be having on Ana, she started to grind her hips back and forth, leaving thin trails of wet and sweat on her abdomen. Grinding herself against it, moaning , "Say you love me."

"I love you," Anastasia said immediately. "You're ama—hah." She was cut off by a tendril plunging into her entrance, as Lilith smiled at her reaction. There was a part of Ana that that was a touch afraid at this new expression. At this energy that Lilith rarely unleashed.

"I didn't ask you to call me amazing." Lilith whispered, as a Tendril brought a small slice spilling a tiny dribble of black blood down Anastasia's abdomen. Not deep, just enough to trickle life-fluids. The tendrils became more aggressive and greedy as they plunged through her core filling it to a point where it almost felt over-full.

Lilith spit in her face, "Apologize."

"I'm… Sorry." Anastasia gasped as she felt the most sensitive spots of her body now gently manipulated in orgasmic circles. The gasp became more ragged and shuddering. As something started to build, embers slowly encroached upon tinders. Lilith smiled, and the smile was not kind, but it was greedy, and it was wanting. Her eyes dared her to do something, anything that would allow her an inch for more games. More punishments. She felt tested in a way that she wanted to fail.

Ana felt the grip on her wrists be loosened to a point where they weren't held anymore, and she reached up to grab Lilith's writing hips. Needing to clasp to something, to grasp, and scrape and tear. She realized it was what Lilith wanted as a second wad of spit hit her face. Another slice this time just around the side of the breast. The tinders caught, the small burgeoning fire beginning to become… something. Lilith watched her squirm and moan and anguish and it all kept her attention. Fully focus and devoted, as she made the Tendrils work faster, more thoroughly, hitting a rhythm that she had now memorized after so much time with Anastasia.

More gasps, more breaths, a moan. That's responded to with a bite in the same spot as before on the side of the neck. Then quieter, Lilith demands, "Tell me I'm perfect, now." The voice was mean for lack of a better word. An eager, threatening, aggressive, double voiced command. The grinding become faster as the Rhythm is continued.,

Soon Ana's capability to keep quiet is defeated, and Lilith puts a hand on her chest leaning upwards to keep distance, to let Ana take her in in all of her rapturous glory, using her hands to direct Anastasia's attention to the parts of her form that she loved best. Then a wicked idea, a frightening one as a tendril comes down and playfully tightens around Anastasia's throat. "You brought the behemoth right."

Ana's eyes went wide, and she gently shook her head no, before saying, "Yellow, yellow." Lilith took the tendrils back, pulling the intensity inside of herself just a bit, continuing the play. Though the fear had pushed her nearly over the edge, Lilith could feel it as she bucked, gasped, panicked, and now moaned.

Unclear how she knew, Lilith felt in that moment the perfect words. She leaned close as Ana still vibrated with rhythmic pumping and scrabbling legs. Then whispered in Ana's ear, "I will always choose you. You are… everything to me." Not sexy words, but words of affection and adoration. Just like Lilith would want.

Ana lets out a scream that echoes off the walls. Almost a pained roar as the tinder had rolled into a full blazing inferno, that was burning down everything inside Anastasia. Every part of her seared with flame and desire, as the explosive energy barraged her like gunfire. Each lash of the blaze filled with the energy of a thousand reactions. Her body is uncontrollable in its strength as Lilith tries to pin her. Nor does Lilith stop. Continuing again and again and again. Making scream every few dozen minutes, not breaking, not being allowed to break as she feels as if she's pushed way beyond her limits.

The doors behind them open, and Varynna rolls her eyes walking in, "The crew is getting concerned about the… amount of noise, and its duration!" The voice of a Lord Admiral sharp and commanding, "I didn't realise you'd shake the damn ship with this racket."

Lilith turns back suddenly exposed and nervous. Not sure where Ana's Astropath robes had gone, or when in the fray they had been removed. "Ah… Sorry." Slowly ceasing and getting up. "It can't have been that long…"

"It's been two and a half hours dear. Commendable, but I wasn't offering my quarters in perpetuity." Varynna wasn't angry, but she was less amused, she leaned over at Ana, who seemed unable to think or move at the moment. Watching as Ana's legs jerked unevenly, cramps seeming to take hold if they had not been there for a time already.

B01-025 - Straight Ballin'
The vessel rumbles as another pulse of energy passes through it. The Warp Drive preparing to reverse course, to rip back into reality. A portal flashes into realspace, purple smoke billows in continent scouring clouds and the void of space replaces actinic purple-pink-red Warp.

As the ship burns thrusters, through every window can be seen the massive gathering of fleets here. A dozen different colours flown proudly, blue, red, black, green, even gold ships of sizes from barely larger than a Behemoth to things that can be confused for a space station until it starts to move.

The system is alive, hundreds of thousands of shuttles everwhere you look transporting souls to and from orbital assets, moons, mines and everything else imaginable. Varynna comments, "Macragge, capital of Ultramar." As the world of green and blue comes into view, a perfect marble in the daylit side, with trailing city lights barely visible around the planets curvature, the dark side just as inviting.

"Remember, this is an official event, dear, try and not say anything insulting to anyone." The Admiral suggests, a new identical black dress spun up and tailored for her in the time since Lilith stained it.

Lilith was a bit flushed still and giddy as she held Anastasia's hand. Little giggles spilling out as she stared at her, the fiery hymn now so loud it nearly drowned out thought echoing through swarm space through the three of them. The entire time they walked she couldn't stop staring. Anastasia's face had been crafted to be without perfection, her lips softer than satin, her body more velvet than skin, her shape a gift from on-high. The grip of Anastasia's hand would be worryingly tight for a human. Her other hand constantly stroked Anastasia's arm, or walked up it with finger tips. She had been like this for hours, now, with no clear indication why.

Both Anastasia, and Varynna were suddenly very aware of the danger Lilith was if the wrong thing was said to Anastasia, or even Varynna. The constant projection of a vulnerable need to protect was worrying.

"I see." Varynna comments to herself, "Lets get to the shuttles, I hear Lord Guilliman is still at reception." An excited tone enters even her, a giddy mix now afflicting all three women in very different quantities. The halls of the ship are crowded, but part before the Lord Admiral as the shuttle which contains the familiar helmet of Zares awaits.

Varynna is in first, settling down, popping a hidden compartment to reveal chilled drinks.

Before (continue) anyone can say anything Lilith snaps out of it, "Zares. I am so sorry. I thought you twowereintoeachother, andIwastryingtodosomethingnicebutanatoldmethatpeoplearesoawfulIamsosorryand." The barrage and manic energy has made everything about Lilith so much more intense, and so much worse.

Anastasia tried to calm her with a gentle touch, that made Lilith calm with a breath just a bit.Her mouth at least slowing down, and herself now draping over Anastasia at the touch.

"I'm sorry." She says, finally.

"Apology accepted, Lady Von Illar." Zares chuckles to himself, "Nothing happened, and we parted amicably." The smooth and firm tones leave no room to doubt his perspective. The flickering buttons of the shuttle accede to his touch, sending the flying machine rumbling into the void with a heading to Macragge.

The nerves started to build, as Lilith became more… Enamoured with Anastasia over the flight. Something no-one in the shuttle had previously thought possible. "Lilith… Did you have…" Then Anastasia turned her attention to Varynna, "Did you have anything out that'd… Cause this?"

"Nothing you'd be able to get." Varynna assures, smiling at Lilith's rapidly growing obsession. "I think she just wants to keep you as a pet for awhile Ana, nothing overly serious." She prods at Ana, trying to see if this is an avenue of reaction.

Unhelpfully, Lilith was already playing with the slip chain necklace when it was said. Looking at it and Ana's face with sudden rapt attention. Gently, tugging on the heart with adoration, her eyes dancing with glee as she heard each link cinch just a bit tighter. Stopping just a second from pinching Anastasia's neck. She studied Anastasia for a reaction.

Ana leans, nearly, into the metallic touch, trying to maintain some form of professionalism before others as Varynna grins dangerously and Zares studiously ignores as much as is possible. "L-love, we are going to a ball!" The Astropath quietly hisses.

"I know it's gonna be so great. Will they announce us together? I can't wait for everyone to call us Mrs. Von Illar." Her mind hearing something very different then what was being conveyed.

Staring at Lilith with a confusing mix of dismay and sudden adoring love, she struggles for words, inviting Varynna to dig the grave deeper. "Oh, don't worry, I've assigned criers to shout your titles, achievements and glorious, recent marriage to everyone around. Its planetary news at this point!" A spike of panic jabs into Ana, being told she's the planet's news.

It's quickly replaced by the familiar psychic screech of joy that pierces the swarm-space between the three of them, even the Behemoth miles away wincing slightly. "Oh my WORD." She says trying to practise some air of sophistication. "They're going to announce us?! Everyone is going to know your mine! That I'm YOURS!" The energy is off-kilter and erratic, the maelstrom of emotion now fully deafening with the unhealthy amounts of energy being put into adoration that only the truly broken can manifest.

The shuttle finally hits an atmosphere, the droning scratching of a blazing plasma sheath as it dives towards the world drowning out any words used by anyone inside. It pulls up, losing momentum in the dive before engines cut on, slowly slowing down until, as if brushed by a feather, the shuttle lands gently on a pad.

Outside the window is massive miles of beautiful, perfectly naturalistic city. Trees, gardens and parks interspersed between tall rockcrete spires and old apartments. Stores offer goods, sales mounted on windows in stick on signs. Everyone looks as if they're out of a period holo, wearing white, or really any colour robes, with foreigners clearly picked out with their more modern sense of dress.

As the door opens, a fresh, clean air hits the noses of everyone inside the shuttle, making Varynna hum in a pleased tone as she stands up, squares her shoulders, places a smile on her face and walks out to a cheer from a crowd that can only barely be seen in the edges of the shuttle windows. Ana's staring out the window with a mild terror.

You're scared? What's wrong? Lilith says, but can't help but get wrapped in the energy as people cheer. Following Anastasia out of the shuttle with a desperate grip, but also the most calm and poise anyone had seen from Lilith in the last two decades. She gingerly stepped out of the shuttle with a smile that seemed serene and placid like calm waters. Only the swarm-space aware of the mania the attention is bringing her.

A wall of sound hits the both of them as they exit. Oceans of celebrants waving flags, signs and anything they can to declare their support for people they've never met. Someone screams loud enough to be heard "I love you!" To whom that was directed, it can't be known. Varynna is waving to the crowd affably, keeping an icy, yet queenly demeanour about her.

She gives gentle professional waves at the crowd and balances Varynna's ice with a bright reserved pride. The incessant lusting and loving tamped down to project someone who seemed not only proud but proud of those around them. Not saying thank you, but making eye contact with those who look conveying appreciation with small nods and waves.

They chant phrases and titles and well wishes alike as the three woman group keeps walking, making it through the armed guard protected path through the crowd. The guards are in blue body armour, nearly-all consuming in how much of them it covers. Only the polarized eye-slit not packed on metal. They are, at least, human in size.

As they arrive at the end of this hall, a mechanical float is present, adorned with statues of Varynna at the head, with replicas of Lilith and Anastasia proudly at her sides, all staring forwards. They are in marble, with onyx, amethyst or morganite for eyes respectively. Varynna steps atop it and lets the tracks rattle to life, joining alongside a great caravan of these things, full of a dozen more heroes of battlefields so distant as to be myth.

In the streets below, lockstep Guardsmen march alongside a dozen colours of Astartes. Great walking machines tower above them as this heroic welcome acquires a militaristic aspect, a glorious celebration of bloodshed on massive scales. The stomp of boots and walker legs fills the air just as much as the screams do whilst in the distance, a fortress can be seen.

Tall walls cast out of Adamantine and painted blue loom as the parade gets nearer, guns bristling all along its breadth and length, triple layered for safety and manned by more men in that ensconcing armour. Varynna whisper-shouts to keep it somewhat a secret. "The Fortress Monastery of Macragge! The largest in the Segmentum!"

The words wash over Lilith, as another few proper nouns enter her lexicon, Darling, Lilith now taking the character to full heart even if Swarm-space had become overrun with manic energy. What is a Fortress Monastery compared to a normal one I mean. Also, what is a Segmentum? The lilt of Lilith's tone was shocking, now suddenly bouncy and melodic.

A place where a Chapter of Astartes, the Emperor's Angels train. This is…the largest in our fifth of the galaxy. The awed voice of Anastasia is evident, never thinking she'd be here.

As she felt that, Lilith, keeping the character, said My dear, this is just the start of what we see together. Enjoying that she had earned something for Anastasia. When you say Angels, do you mean the pretty armoured girls with wings?

She points at the power armoured titans marching beneath, armour still slightly stained with four-dozen varieties of blood. His angels of death. Ana answers the question shakily.

Huh… Weren't some of those on the ship? Lilith wondered watching as the procession continued, Do you want to meet one at some point? I'm trying to think of more things and experiences to work towards for you.

As the vehicles stop, having pulled in front of the Fortress and its massive, thousand foot walls. Ana answers, I…don't know. Stairways slip off the floats and Varynna finally intercedes in this Swarm conversation, Dears, those are veterans, the ones I have are barely fifty.

The armour looks neat. Are they that big inside?
Lilith wonders following behind, absent mindedly stroking Anastasia's arm, not having let go of her for a second. Ana returns the touch with a lean, feeling uncomfortable with the wall of powerful eyes on her.

As the Admiral walks down the stairs first, she answers, Between seven and nine feet outside it. Yes. Shaking hands of waiting officials with a smile and polite nod, she seems able to multitask well.

Am I supposed to be glad-handing? Varynna? Then turning to Anastasia, Anastasia we're with Varynna it's fine. They can only look.

Speaking audibly with a grin, Varynna shouts back, "Only with the ones you like!" Skipping a woman who looks incensed at not being greeted by the Lord Admiral. Ana, on the other hand, calms down somewhat at the words of safety, controlling her breathing and placing the distaste of the Witch firmly on her face. I need a lho stick. She grumbles.

I have a pack, don't worry, later. Lilith smiles, not making eye contact with the incensed woman, following the Lord Admiral's lead. Though, suddenly, she felt… Very… in place. The tent cities of Tarsonis, her time in university, it had all been… Similar. Dangerous people and not dangerous people, intermingled looking for scraps to try and lie, cheat, or praise their way into. A hierarchy that was clear, but not clear enough. Tiny unspoken rules that could only be learned by being well taught, or well experienced. These were just people. Desperate and power hungry. Like anyone else.

Eventually, normal men and women turns to others. Armoured Astartes of a dozen different colours, some brutish in appearance, others with smooth, near-perfect faces and long hair, others still with cybernetics cutting through their flesh visibly. The first to strike Lilith and Anastasia is a woman, nearly eight foot tall, with very real feathered wings stretching behind her. Varynna bows at the waist before her as she looks down at her with a smile.

Is that…Saint Celestine?! Ana is shocked beyond physical words.

Girl bow, Lilith snapped, bowing with the Lord Admiral, If she's bowing we probably should be as well.

Getting over her shock, Ana bows as the woman tilts her head in bemusement, black hair like silken sheets, armour fitted perfectly to her. "I am indeed, little Astropath." Making Ana's eyes widen suddenly and Varynna bite the inside of her cheek.

She has win— Fu— My word. Lilith suddenly felt exposed. I can't say "you're the woman from the holo picts" but also, I assumed that was an actor. She can still hear me.

"Indeed, I've heard much about you, Lilith Von Illar!" Her voice is like a drumming church bell, terrifying in its power, yet somehow calming in its surety, "Lord Guilliman speaks highly of your defence. I would entreat your attentions later, if you would have me." Varynna shoots a look that leaves no room for wrong answers at Lilith.

"Nothing would honour me more," Lilith said, as her mind starts to peal with excitement at being called von Illar, "I will be looking forward to it, thank you." Looking to Varynna for a Do I bow again, or… Title or..?

"Just go on with your day, bowing is ever so…odd to me still." The Saint waves as she encourages the women to move on.

"Of course," She says smiling as Lilith trots off trying not to skip. Once what she thinks is out of ear-range of Saint Celestine Is everyone privvy to this conversation? Or was she special? I mean special in abilities, I have not seen many giant Saints with Feathers and Golden Armour.

"She is a Living Saint." Varynna answers with a small smile, "All she can say or see is truth. I suppose that extends to hidden conversing." As the last of the dignitaries are appeased.

That is incredibly disconcerting considering how I live my life, and my self esteem, Lilith says, following Varynna's lead with a smile. "Well, wasn't that a treat Anastasia." Lilith said, practising not being a swearing, lecherous, cur.

"I felt…safe?" She's staring forwards, utterly baffled, "Around her-I mean." Ana's gaze moves back to the Saint, still entreating guests like an old Goddess of War.

"I felt…" Scared. Seen. Exposed. In danger. "Really happy to see you light up like that." Lilith completed with a smile, giving her a quick squeeze.

Finally, the end of the cavalcade is a man, but no normal man. Even sitting in armour, he is well over eight feet, likely another two or three when standing. Blue and gold interspersed on the powered frame of his suit, a face of almost perfected features, high cheekbones and a strong jaw drawn from ancient marble mythic statues.

A flash of blue power armour, smell of whiskey, a vulture's Ion thrusters— Lilith winced at the thought internally, but stuffed it away.

He looks down, a laurel wreath surrounding the short blonde hair, and nods. "Welcome, heroes of Parmenio." The Lord's voice booms through the chamber, powerful beyond any normal human, "This ball is in your honour, first and above all else. Lord Admiral Varynna, Ladies Anastasia Von Illar nee Ultramar and Lilith Von Illar."

Oh no… Lilith had a flash of concern looking to Anastasia, I thought… That means on paperwork you joined my family? I wanted to join yours. Lilith can't quite grapple with why this is important to her.

I existed before you Lilith, it had to be this way, Anastasia, for once, got to use her own honeyed truth.

"I am honoured, Lord Guilliman. But in truth, this victory was the Emperor's alone." Varynna bows again, "We were merely his instruments of war." The compliment goes over well with the crowd, many respectful voices, but to Lilith's superhuman social senses, a flicker of distaste passes over the giant's features. It is schooled away in a tenth of a tenth of a second, so fast that Lilith could believe it was a mirage.

"Of course, my Father works mysteriously." Guilliman answers. "Please, take your seats beside me." He gestures to the gorgeously luxurious thrones beside him, sized for humans rather than titans. Draped in gold, purple, black and white, they beckon silently.

As Lilith follows she starts to take in everything she knows about the man. Not into debauchery, Varynna trusts him implicitly, isn't… Daddy issues possibly? Might not have anything do with the religion. Too much of a risk right now to see if setting us aside in usefulness would garner any good will. We already proved it, and have the meeting for that. Don't need to ass kiss. Isn't seemingly surprised at Varynna's abhumanity either. Neither were the crew on her ship, or anyone here. Second from the throne, did he approve it then? Are our "gene therapies" already that widely acceptable?

The Saint sees truth, said good things about me… Either knows how to work me up, or it's a low-level psychic connection. She looks to Anastasia now, Nervous still, awestruck, Varynna is excited to be in Guilliman's graces. Does she know ? Is she riling him up like she does everyone? She has nine-hundred years on you and zerg senses. She must.

Lilith follows silently, something about this place, this setting feels… Intriguing in a way that gives her laser focuses, all of her thought processes now easier to split on different threads of information, finally enough details to soak in that her mind isn't left bored and wandering. She looks to Anastasia again wondering if Lord Guilliman could be prompted to compliment her? But of course not, that has weight more than the simple words.

Varynna moves to sit on the left side of Lord Guilliman, leaving her as the barrier between the demigod and the two other women.

She pulls a chair for Anastasia to sit next to Varynna, letting her love be closer, giving her the seat of honour. It means more to her, it feels more important. They have the Swarm link to discuss if need be. Her mind clicks in seconds doing the social calculations. If Lilith is separated from Varynna's teasing as well, Anastasia can excel at the pressure. Lilith can give encouraging words, and feelings without getting her attention drawn away.

Its…surprisingly less terrifying than anyone could have guessed. The vast inner palatial chamber of the Fortress Monastery is ringed with paintings, tapestries and marbled pillars bearing gold. Supplicants come to offer their gifts to the Emperor's Favoured Son, as they say, kneeling before him.

At one gift, a pair of jewel boxes, Guilliman carefully says, "Of course, I accept, and if its no dishonour, I shall gift them to the heroes of the day." He reaches out and clasps the large boxes in one hand, moving them before the three Heroes carefully, like one would place something in front of a fragile glass vase, trying not to hurt them in any way.

If we take it we're claiming to be the heroes. Varynna has the power right? So… Varynna should take it, plus if we take it then we're seeming greedy. Though maybe it's a dishonour to turn down. Might be a bribe? Lilith gives a quick scan reading Varynna's reaction and everyone else's carefully as she watches

Varynna smiles and pushes the boxes down towards Lilith and Anastasia, "I thank you, Lord. It is a mighty gift you've given us." As the man who presented it turns and walks aside to the growing mass of supplicants to allow the next supplicant through. The boxes are wooden, varnished carefully and with a gold-latch lock. Ana looks at them somewhat surprised, as if not expecting gifts.

Oh, it's the generals from Korhal returning with their chunks of planet. She realises, tithings. The gifts are being passed out to honour because he has no need of this much plunder, or to seem less greedy. Then looking at Anastasia, she realises they have nowhere to put the boxes. That and Guilliman hates this. Then it clicks, Oh she said US. We're the generals of Korhal. These are the medals.

Lilith looks at the supplicant, and with a warm smile says, "Thank you, so much. We'll cherish it especially with our wedding having been so soon to the battle. Also, to you of course My Lord, and Lord Admiral. We're honoured to be treated so kindly."

"You've already been married in ceremony?" Guilliman asks, turning his head curiously to Varynna and then the rest of the women. "If so, I've a venue to cancel." His chuckle is a booming thunderstorm.

"The battle interrupted a lot of things, then there was rebuilding, and administrative work. It got cancelled, so… Technically this is our first gift until we can get everything back on track." Lilith says.

"We can discuss more when not so many ears are listening intently." He casts his eyes on a point in the crowd, making the obviously enhanced, at least to Lilith's, and apparently his senses, nobleman listening in look to the ground, shamed.

Something that catches the eyes of many is the Saint Celestine hovering around and then picking up a woman, as if playing with her, making her blush and stammer. Defusing much tension immediately as she answers with something that deepens the blush even more.

Mommy. Lilith thinks as she watches the giant Saint.

"That." Varynna says carefully, "Is Inquisitor Katarinya Greyfax. Being tossed and hugged." Each sentence carries a century of baffled preconceptions each. "By a living saint." She finally sighs out, as if at her wits end with the world.

No, keep it together Lilith. "I have never felt more comfortable in a place, than when there are open displays of affection." Lilith says with a smile. So much better than will she step on me, way to go Lilith, WAY to go. Watching the two women, wondering how much staring is appropriate. She nestles a little into Anastasia, a slight lean.

Finally, the last supplicant comes forth, offering swords that flicker with power along their blades, a humming generator in the hilt an obvious source of the aura. They are accepted and passed on to a "Master at Arms", an Astartes in a bulky by even their standards suit of armour, taking them away somewhere.

With that, Guilliman stands, prompting Varynna to do so as well, quickly followed by Lilith and Ana realizing social cues. He clearly resounds, "Servants of the Imperium!" Him raising his voice is enough to put a chill down the spines of anyone nearby, something more than natural apprehension at his size, something inhumanly nerve-wracking. "We celebrate victory today! Victory against the Arch-Enemy in the open field! Do not mourn the dead, for they died heroes! Instead, hope for their legacies, prepare to carry their cause forwards! Drink, eat, make merry this day, for tomorrow, we set sail for Terra!" The roar carries through the mass at his words, rapidly spreading outside and all the way through the cities as he commands a world with his voice.

Immediately, the drinks are poured, tables are filled, the Saint stops obviously flirting with the much shorter woman, instead just idly talking as she places armoured boots on a table uncaring of the "image" she shows. Even Astartes in various ways join the celebrations, from bearded giants that immediately set to outdrinking all the mortals around them, to reserved conversationalists, to stiff warriors unused to joys of this stripe.

In her mind she looks at the saints, the flirting and the boots before saying to Anastasia, Finally, some people just being normal. We've mostly been interacting with the military I realise. Not seen much else. Looking out to the crowd with a bit of calm, finally.

Yes, we are all still…human. Staring at an Astartes with a short blonde beard and a very loud voice drinking and carousing, Even his angels, I think.

It's blondes then for you? For me it's just people who could kill me. Or show affection. Very simple woman.
Lilith thinks as she follows Ana's gaze with a smirk.

A harsh noise of stopped though sparks from Ana's mind as briefly, images of the titan naked flash through her, That-No, I will not think of the Astartes in that way! She says, as a woman in much slighter powered armour pushes at the giant, saying something that catches his attention with a wry, cunning grin.

Lilith with a smile does the imagining for Anastasia, letting her own vivid thoughts paint the scene for her. While men were not… Her choice, she knew enough to paint an image. Letting Anastasia's own form be princess carried by the Astartes.

Anastasia resembles a boiling tea-kettle rapidly, looking hatefully at Lilith. The fire in her eyes trying to scour the filth from Lilith's mind.

B01-026 - Not Again
Celestine pulls her blade free and slams it into the ground with a laugh as an Astartes challenges her to something, a contest of some kind, but before she does, she points at Lilith with one finger, "Lilith von Illar!" Her voice carries with the holiest of echoes imaginable, "I need you!" Her word choice is either remarkably intentional or very coincidental as she turns back to the massive hulk of a Space Marine, even by their standards.

She turns to Ana, "Please."

Sensing an opportunity for revenge, Ana grins, "Should I?" The blush fading fast from her face.

"Ana, I've only done like, two or three incredibly embarrassing and mean things in the last day." Lilith 's mouth running faster than her head. "I'll be less of a brat."

Ana quickly pounces on it, "Deal." Face showing something very orchestrated is forming as a plan in her mind.

Lilith seals the deal with a quick peck on the cheek, and tries to calmly move, but can't help herself being a little giddy. Her vivid imagination is finally stuffed down as she remembered that Saint Celestine can see the images she conjures, with bright eyes, she says, "Saint Celestine, I live to serve." The last word having a curious lilt on it.

"Wonderful!" She says, starting to reach for her plating as the Astartes settles on the opposite end of a stone table, "I've bet this gentleman I can beat him without any armour on!" Celestine's voice rises to a crescendo at that declaration. "If he wins, I'll be his accompaniment for the evening! If I win–" She's cut off.

"I'll fight him for i—" Lilith bites her tongue, every time a pretty woman gets in front of her she turns into an idiot.

Smiling brightly at Lilith, she laughs and pats her shoulder roughly, "Help me get my wing plates off, Lady Von Illar!" Turning her back to Lilith and letting her figure out how to get it off.

"Ha!~" Lilith said before looking at the armour inspecting it. Then realizing a hundred and sixty-three centimetres she was probably going to need assistance. Not totally aware of her surroundings, she drags a table much larger than herself with ease, getting on top of it. Before examining for straps, keeping mild conversation as her hands… Roamed.

The clasps come off, revealing a thin, sleeveless shirt and a multitude of tattoos over her back and arms that circle around and past dense muscle. Surprisingly completely scar free, she looks perfect, without a flaw to any part of her.

There's a very distinct urge to touch instead of look, and she stuffs that down, with about three dozen other mental images. "Hmm." Was the best she could make out. You don't have to talk Lilith. I need to be charismatic, looshe can hear you.

Clasping hands with a clap of thunder, Celestine and the Marine grit their teeth as servo and transhuman muscle start to push against divine flesh. The table gets a hole burrowed in it as elbow and elbow plate make progress against the stone. The Saints muscle flexes constantly, locking many pairs of eyes to her as, inch by painful inch, she forces the machine-enhanced power slowly, ever so slowly down. Pneumatics whine, metal groans and when the plane is broken, she smashes his gauntlet into the table with a scatter of stone and a cry of achievement.

Immediately grabbing Lilith and the other woman, they are pulled to her sides like dolls and held tightly in celebration of success, "You are strong, Angel, but not strong enough!" Celestine laughs powerfully, thrumming waves of feeling escaping her and bringing the moods of anyone nearby up. The Astartes chuckles, taking his own drink

"So if I beat you in arm wrestling…" Lilith doesn't finish the sentence as she lifted up, "How many chances would I get exactly?" It's a jest, but every inch of her is on fire at this point.

"Well, Lady Von Illar." She gently whispers, "How many do you think you'd need?" A power flickers through the Saint's words, psychic, magic, divine, Lilith couldn't say, but it sends emotion flaring whenever she speaks, whatever that emotion is, it's heightened, sharpened.

"I don't know, we should probably practise a few times first." Trying hard not to melt in the woman's eyes but having her every feeling pulled out of her. Changing the subject quickly, trying not to latch onto the woman's face. "What did you get if you won anyways?"

Placing Lilith down, as well as the other poor woman who finally can go back to the very complex and important conversation she was having, Celestine answers, "Him kneeling in front of.." She points at a man staring wide eyed and terrified as an Astartes kneels before him, "That man who couldn't try to control his depravity around me. Now look at him, unable to even breathe!" Laughing wildly afterwards, shaming the target even more with her stare and joy.

"Ah!~" Lilith says again looking over, "Why does an Astartes kneeling before him make him breathless?" Lilith said as she tried everything to force those inner thoughts DEEP down.

"Because," She laughs, unable to control her volume, "Now, he's dishonoured him by not accepting it!" The man looks pale, and then faints, making Celestine once again break into a raucous enjoyment, holding just Lilith to her now.

Not really fully aware of anything when she was pulled close, she just looked up at the giantesse. "I—" She keeps trying to speak, but the words keep catching. "I— I am normally more charismatic than this. You are… Very ta—" Lilith cuts herself off, "You seem normal, which has been a rarity lately."

"If you want my attention, Lady Lilith. Speak your mind." The Saint chuckles loudly, "I see Truth, everything else is background. Besides." She leans in closely, "I can hear the thoughts anyways." A whispered proclamation that buzzes and rings bells through Lilith with the vibration of the words.

"Oh good," Lilith said with a sigh, letting the stranglehold on her mind release so she can put more thought processing into the interaction. "To be honest, a normal conversation would also be cool." She admitted.

"You are currently being held to the chest of a Living Saint, Lady Lilith." She deadpans. "Normal was…awhile ago."

"I am, yes," Lilith admits, truly unaware of the importance of the situation, "Normal is just whatever we get used to I guess. I could get used to this. Why did you need me? Exact— OH! Oh." She immediately catches on, the timing with the toying with Lady Von Illar nee Ultramar.

"There's that if you think I'm that way." She chuckles, "But there's also the fact that I don't get many women brazen enough to imagine me on my knees." The next comment is unfortunately loud for what it contains, "And feel absolutely no shame over it. It is Truthful, and thus, attention-grabbing."

Looking at the fainted man, at Anastasia von Illar, and the surrounding room, there's something in Lilith's chest that says she's about to get chucked out of the window, "I don't… Really feel shame about affection. It's… Affection, it's for anyone to give or receive at their leisure. More importantly Is the other Lady you were tossing around earlier going to get mad if I shoot a shot."

"Inquisitor Greyfax, for all her many beauties." She shouts over at the woman, making her sigh, "Does not see me that way-Or anyone, really." There's no heat or distaste to it, just enjoyment.

"Oh, you're like me, you just say the things!" Lilith says getting far more comfortable.

"After a woman feels what having a sword nestled in her chest is like, she loses many barriers." The Saint laughs at the memory, "And I had twelve before my First Death!"

Lilith leans away slightly and looks her over front and back, "You look great for it to be honest." Her own hands now returning the embrace. Then, quieter, "Is the kneel—"

Lifting her shirt up to show the scars just below her bra, she points out where the blades, all dozen of them seemed to have pierced her. "Oh, you can tell, just look carefully." Grizzly scars of jagged edges present all throughout, just past abdominal muscles.

"I'd ask if it hurt, but I've been sho—" Don't say you've been shot in the head by a Bolter, she knows, and also sounds insane. "It looks unpleasant."

"I've had that happen as well. It's deeply uncomfortable, right?" She answers the mental question, "That was… my Seventh Death."

"Yeah, that or windpipe being crushed but not enough I think is the worst, it's the trickling." Lilith looks at her again, "Are you counting down, or up to something?"

"Keeping track, seems the sane thing to do?" She shrugs, "I'm up to fifteen now."

Lilith grimaces to herself, Should I have been keeping track? "That's… More than the average person I think." Then via the swarm link, Is Lord Guilliman waiting, because this… I could sit here for hours, you two.

"Lord Guilliman can busy himself, if you'll make the time for me, Lady Lilith." The Living Saint promises, as Lilith can smell something like apples on her, a perfumed scent.

"Then I have to as—" Then a smile, "I love apples… I uh… I'm going to shoot my shot then. Was there anything particular you… saw in my head that looked interesting?"

"Would you like to know something very interesting, Lilith?" She asks, quietly.

"Yes, I would love to literally talk to you for hours." Lilith responds, leaning close.

"I'm a virgin woman." She laughs quietly, nestling in closer, putting her face in Lilith's hair.

"By… Choice?" Lilith asked as she returned the hug, "Also, if not where exactly does that line stand."

"No.
" The Saint answers, "And I have never even kissed someone. Never had the chance."

Lilith looks around the room and shrugs, "Are… You busy? Right now?"

"I'm talking to you, aren't I?" She thrums her voice, sending a shocking vibration through Lilith.

You moron go the whole nine yards, "You are," Lilith says recovering, gently alighting her hand on Celestine's arm, letting a single nail swing back and forth slowly. Tell the Truth "I forgot the fun parts, I got a little over-eager. You can't imagine how distracting," Lilith says, letting the nail very slowly trace up a bicep, "It is to be held by someone so pretty and strong."

"There you are." She smirks, "The seductress I saw so much of." The angelic tones of her voice are piercing, just as much as her brightly golden stare, flecking pieces of light falling from the eyes and dissipating in the air.

That made Lilith blush, "I'm surprised by how flattered I am right now." The nails climb ever closer, to the top of the shoulder, before she turns her body in Celestine's arms. So that now she fully faced her, legs almost wrapped around Celestine's midriff. The other hand now gently resting on Celestine's side. "If you see Truth, then you know how much I'm loving being held by you right now. Though… Maybe there's other signs." Lilith is whispering now, giving her whole heart into this one goal. She has No idea who this pretty girl is, or how she can read her mind, but by god she was going to let her know how great she made Lilith feel.

"Anyone tell you you're very warm?" She kept calling her Lilith, very possibly permission to call her her name, whisper it very low girl, "Celestine?" She leaned in close, the arm around the waist, and the one over the shoulder now interlapping as the leg's do too. Very slowly making contact.

"No." She clearly responds, suddenly very interested in Lilith's eyes, "No one's ever been brave enough to find out." The Saint's touch carries with it a slight burning, not painful, not truly, but with heat as it scourges something on contact. "Has anyone ever told you, Lilith, that you are beautiful?" She whispers, gently resting her hands on Lilith's waist, holding it firmly, so much of her strength held back and yet still powerful.

"Twice, wait, no once." Lilith says honestly, "And it was about my behaviour, not my looks. I have requested someone call themselves beautiful to win my… attentions once though." The heat is hot, and now the hand was easy to slide from the waist, over to the shoulder smoothly. "I'm suddenly very curious how much warmer you'll get." She's whispering now, her eyes half-lidded. "I would very much like you to ask for a kiss." Lilith said leaning close.

"Would you like to fly, Lilith." The Saint smiles. Flickering wings unfolding into white feathered vastness.

Deep breaths, Lilith says, panting with excitement, trying not to break the moment, "Yes." Oh my god you're going to FLY.

The wings flare out, and in a burst of force, rocket both the Saint and her passenger up, smashing through stone like it isn't there to rise into the brightly lit sky, higher and higher until with a flap, she stabilizes above the earth, floating without flapping with a smile. The ground is far, far below, tiny dots of city blocks and the largest vehicles visible amidst the grey and green. Celestine looks nowhere but Lilith, devoting her full attention to the other woman, shirt fluttering in the winds this high up as her armoured bottom half clinks lightly.

"This is one of the coolest moments in my life." Her eyes are wide as the stone crumbles around her and in pure ecstatic joy she looks at the city, at Celestine, at… Everything. "This is amazing."

"Don't get distracted, Lilith." Her voice flares past the winds and clearly reaches the other woman, "You made a promise, no?" The golden light flickers from her eyes into sparks that fade in the wind while a perfect face smiles, divine in all respects. Long black hair flying in the wind behind her.

She looks at her, "This is…" If this is the first time, do it right. "Sometimes the best things are worth waiting a little for, Celestine." Her smile goes wide, and she leans in again, putting her arms around her head, rubbing the palm just under the jaw before letting the fingers pull back caressing the side of her face. She pulled herself in, her lips getting close, unbearably close as Celestine's fire made her feel warm. Letting the very tip of her lips almost touch.

"Tell me your Truth, Celestine, do you want me to kiss you?" Lilith lightly pecks her on the side of the cheek.

"I think I might act out if you don't. Lilith." The Saint repeats the name, letting it play over her tongue and slip out of her thrumming with energy. "I want to do much more than that to you." She confides quietly.

Instead of answering with words, she finally lets her lips gently touch Celestines, at first gentle nurturing pecks. Trying her best to not to invade, or overwhelm. Just a simple back and forth, occasionally teasing the very edge of Celestine's senses with her tongue. She kisses her a little bit deeper, letting her tongue explore just a bit more. Letting herself melt into Celestines senses, delighting when the woman returns the light play. Soon their connections intensify, and the heat gets warmer. In the cold atmosphere Celestine's sun blisters at something inside. Something that is completely unlike the warmth that she was feeling right now. Bright rays piercing every inch of her.

Lilith doesn't rush, someone so beautiful deserves the best and she so desperately wants this time to be cherished. She lets her tongue do more work, her hands move across her back. There's a whist of wind, and she remembers, with delight and fear how high up she is. Letting that infuse her passion. The idea of being dropped. She kisses her harder, then without thinking, a gentle nip on the lip as she pulls away.

"If… If you want to have the best time I can possibly give you, we're going to need a bed." She whispers.

The light flaring out of the Saint is painful, it sears at Lilith, sears at the very air, but still feels warm and loving, pain and affirmation in an undeniable, flagellant aura. She smiles past it as her wings fold to claps around Lilith, letting gravity slowly take a hold of them, starting a perilous dive as Celestine keeps her eyes locked on Lilith's.

The pure, unadulterated joy that rages out of Lilith as something… Beautiful feels unlocked, like a grip on her soul had been cleansed, she just holds the look almost tearing up. She doesn't know why she loves this specific pain so much, but it's unlike anything she had felt. Like alcohol spritzed on a wound, or the itch of a healing bone, or the cleansing of an infection. She feels pure she feels bliss. The moment is savoured as she looks at Celestine's eyes. Feeling… Grateful, for what she didn't know. Just… At peace.

I'm going to rock your world. She thinks, not wanting to ruin the moment by saying it.

In the darkness light by only the Saint's eyes, Lilith can see her smile broader. Wings flare out merely twenty feet above the ground, catching wind and lifting up suddenly as she rises to the roof of a grand…chapel? Monastery? Temple?

Landing inside the belltower, she finally lets Lilith go, holding her just in case she doesn't have the strength to stand. "Follow me, Lilith." As she starts to walk herself down the stairs into the building.

The stone feels, clean, unforgiving but disciplined. Each step she takes is a little wobbly but she suddenly feels so light. She worries, as she notices her legs having just the tiniest amount of give as tiny bits of it have to reinforce the others. Still it was amazing. She follows Celestine with stars in her eyes. With this burgeoning fire and… Something she never felt before in her heart. "O- O- Okay." She says quietly, "Sorry for stuttering, that… Ruled."

A confident smirk on the Saint's face is followed by, "Don't worry Lilith, I adore you stuttering." As she tugs her through a door into a large, but simple room, sized for the giantess. A plain bed with white sheets, soft pillows and linens. A harp in a corner obviously well used and a stained glass window of some legendary feat sending coloured light into the room.

Somewhere in the distance Anastasia and Varynna hear another psychic yelp at the word adore, along with the psychic shivers send down Lilith's spine. She looks at everything, and then tries to figure out the logistics of laying a nine foot woman down at five-feet tall, before finally deciding as she always tells others, to use her words.

B01-027 - Saint Celestine
Hey if you're reading this at work listen up!
The entire thread is NSFW by default, but maybe your work is more progressive!
The following content may be more explicit than your average update!

The next slide has trigger warnings for those who need them.
Normal Vanilla Sex, the scariest kind!

"I'm going to need you to sit down." A giant lustful grin in her eyes. Though… This felt different too. Like there was… Less being taken from the moment. It felt fuller and more satisfying. She pointed at the bed, as she made a split decision.

"Oh~." Celestine smiles through the words as she saunters over, generous hips swinging in a hypnotic arc whilst she undoes the belt of her armoured leggings, letting the plates crash into the floor, revealing very tight black cloth beneath. Sitting on the bed with just boots and clothes on.

"I'll help you with the rest," Lilith says as she very quickly slips out of her heels. Not, quite sprinting but with far less grace than she had planned before pulling herself together again. She looked at Celestine, her eyes glowing with essence. As her gameplan formulates.

"You'll be touching the divine today, Lilith." Celestine comments at Lilith's gaze, tongue flicking out to moisten her lips while sparks fall from her eyes.

"I'm more interested in touching Celestine, right now." She says honestly, seeing what she could only describe as a woman custom built to hit every single one of her interests. The eyes now greedy and hungry trying to figure out what will make this woman swoon. She says, "I'll need help with my suit. In a minute."

Then she slow— She stops, "You know I have a carapace right? You know everything, I just want to make sure it's not a surprise."

There's a small look of anxiousness at that, "Yes, and I also have to… warn you." Celestine carefully says, "Such things don't…always last around me."

Lilith didn't know how Celestine felt when the sudden exhilaration at being undone hit her, "Then I better make it worth it." She said, before painstakingly slowly picking up one of Celestine's legs, and unlacing the boot, gently undoing strings and clasps, until it came undone and pulled on it, with one hand under her calf, tossing it behind her. Then the other, even slower. Never breaking eye-contact as deft hands did dextrous work. Instead of moving onto the tights, she placed herself over Celestine's lap. The other woman's nerves taking over her as she shuddered.

Lilith's hands found the under-side of her shirt, but before pushing upwards she allowed them to press against the searing hot abdomen, the muscle thickly bristling underneath her touch. Her hands slowly massaged around, smiling as she noticed a little apprehension in Celestine. She reached around and grabbed the hem of her shirt, slowly pulling it up over Celestine's head.

An errant thought that's quickly stifled due to its irrelevance burbles up How does she know that Carapace burns of during se—- Doesn't matter worth it even if it kills me at this point. She admires Celestine's form as the tight athletic bra seems so tight that she would burst from it at any moment. Lilith gave herself a tiny hiss of joy, as she gently hooked her fingers under the elastic, pulling it free. Celestine having to stoop lower to get it off her head.

Realising, the Saint would need a little direction; she reached out to Celestine's arms, and put them on her waist. Unbuttoning her own coat, and tossing it aside. Celestine moved her hands to the front of Lilith's slacks gingerly, nervously, slowly with a bit of trepidation as it undid the belt, buttons and zipper for her. Lilith stood, kicking them off, kicking the rest off in moments now completely nude. She pressed her hand on Celestine's chest and pushed her back into the bed.

Celestine's heart started to race as if she were readying for battle. She was exposed, and the heat inside had nothing to block it's radiance from shining all around her. As she blushed a small halo of light seemed to emanate, one that made the edges of Lilith's senses tingle.

The saint let herself fall back, as Lilith pulled off her pants, sliding them off easily despite how tight they were. Exposing the patch of hair between her legs. She started at the top again, climbing to once again kiss Celesting more. This time deep and rough, letting her tongue fully consume Celestine's mouth, letting it crawl across her senses, before kissing her in a gentle trail back down.

Each sensation was new, terrifying and deeply intoxicating as Lilith slowly revved a now thriving engine. Using her fingers to part the hair, she gently let her tongue explore Celestine between her legs. Grinning ear to ear when she heard the Saint make a very familiar noise. Emotions of pride, and joy filled Lilith. Satisfaction, like she was giving someone the impossible. Very slowly she moved her tongue up and down the inner lips, letting them feel the full contact of her tongue, pressing against them and slowly sliding between them and over Celestine's opening. Occasionally rubbing the other woman's clit.

Celestine's breath hitched with the added stimulation. Her breath starting to slowly work its way up into pants. Still, Lilith was slow, ever so slow. She continued to probe Celestine before gently starting to swirl her tongue in circles around Celestine, starting different patterns and positions before she felt Celestine flex around her. She maintained herself, continuing once more. Letting the moment build and rise, letting the aura wash over her. Gently she explored Celestines opening with her tongue, finding that whatever may have been there had long ago been broken through exertion. Her fingers bring a second shuttering gasp.

She continued to work on Celestine, bringing the passion forward, waiting to see how she reacted to the plunge. Celestine's nerves made it hard for her to focus, and Lilith realised there was a slight tremble throughout her. With a small smile, Lilith stopped, and climbed back up.

"You're doing fine, relax." She said quietly, "You're getting into your own head." She gently ran her fingers through Celestine's hair, who was no longer looking anywhere near Lilith's face. With a smile she whispered, "There's no way to do this wrong ok?" Her hands explored Celestine's body once more, and then with a smile, she picked up Celestine's hand and placed it directly on Lilith's chest.

Her touch was surprisingly gentle, and Lilith delighted as she leaned in for a kiss. She could feel the tension release, and after a quick separation, moved herself to Celestine's lap. This time, there were not shudders, quiet gasps, and nervous trembles. Instead low quiet humming, silent oohs and aahs that ringed like Bells in Lilith's ears as she got more aggressive, pieces of her moving in tandem with rhythm to create a notes of sensation that combined into what soon became a symphony. Their music was faster, and faster, as faster. Reaching an ever encroaching crescendo that seemed to be heralded by every noise that came before it, before there was a cry that rang out so musical and pure as to be orchestral.

Every part of her flexed and shook, she exploded not only with light and energy, but a small trickle of wet that struck Lilith. Still she continued. They had not reached the part of her symphony that Lilith was looking for, when a sudden, louder, more powerful raucous boom of music lead to a climax that seemed to split open the universe around them letting in pure unadulterated light and warmth that pierced EVERYTHING tearing it, searing it, blazing it, bathing Lilith in holy fire.

It stings, it burns, it is agony, spreading through the room on waves of connection. Celestine shivers and holds Lilith, pulling her up towards her chest in an attempt to spare her the fury of golden light. Flesh sizzles as carapace falls away, her spirit cleansed in a blast of power that strips layers off the walls and shines through the stained glass window with starlight brightness.

Skin on skin is ecstatic, so much more sensitive as its cleansed, birthed anew in golden light, simultaneous agony and rapport. Its by shuddering gasps that Lilith returns to sanity, eyes blinking in the fading light as she feels soft hair on her neck, pink skin on porcelain, and something resembling intense embarrassment from Celestine.

"Lilith…are you…alright?" The divine being asks.

With a confused look as she touches her hair, "Yeah? Why wouldn't I be?" Rubbing it gently, touching the… Silky… Curls. The hair. Her hair not her tendrils her hair. "Oh, huh, well this proves that we are actually originally human I guess." She looks down at her body, "I am a treat. Still prefer the green though." Then a shrug, "Do… You want to go again?"

"Ah~." Celestine mumbles at the thought, "Its…normal to want too?" She asks, trying to solve an embarrassment.

"Personally? I never stopped wanting too really, but that's a personal choice. We're the… Superior gender sounds mean, but we have a few perks in that department." Lilith laughs, before feeling extremely weak and woozy as she tries to lift a part of Celestine. "Our sex stops when it gets boring. That's the only real limit. Or I guess cramping. A few other things, you'll know when you need to stop." As she rests herself down back on the floor her knees felt oddly pained.

Then she was quiet. "Oh. I need Varynna and Anastasia after this. I'm not freaky strong anymore. This does prove we're human though right?" Lilith wondered. "Anyways, try not to crush my head."

"I knew you were human at first sight, Lilith." She chuckles kindly, "Well, second sight, first sight was a different thought." Pulling Lilith up towards her bosom and holding her tightly, almost too tight as she's calibrated for someone tougher.

As Lilith is pulled forward there's a slight cough as she realizes, with actual, genuine fear that she could die at some point. Not with Celestine, but like… A brain aneurysm, a stroke, she could fall down the stairs. Fragile.

"I'll protect you." A voice that could split the skies promises, sensing fear and dismay in her partner, utterly implacable, thunderous.

The realisation that Abathur had toned down how lustful Lilith was not one she had expected to half as she was squeezed. It was in fact, something Lilith had thought was impossible. "Oh yes! Please ma'am." She then put her own finger in her mouth realising she no longer had razor sharp teeth. "What was the first thought by the way?"

"I liked your eyes." She admits sweetly, going from a goddess to just a shy lover in a single question.

I am in love. Lilith thought at the words, before realising that everything she felt was on full display. Then realising, that actually made things a bit simpler, in a way. "Thank you, I don't have anything near as sweet to say about when I first saw you. It was mostly… Mental images."

"I think being speechless is sweet." Another kind phrase, a natural charisma to Celestine, able to say exactly the right thing every time.

Lilith just hugs her quietly, before whispering, "Ana and Varynna are going to assume us having sex somehow killed me by the way."

"Well, that's a problem for later." The carefree admission is followed by holding the smaller woman closer to her, though easing up on the pressure. "For now, can I say I like your hair? I've never touched curls before."

"You're so sweet. Curls can tangle really bad, and… I don't think I've ever seen hair conditioner here, not that I've super been looking, so be gentle if you run your fingers through them." Lilith says, taking the woman's hand and placing it on her head, liking how Celestine just goes where Lilith puts the appendage.

Celestine spends a bit patting Lilith's head, not tugging her fingers through her hair, or snagging curls with rough fingers. After more cuddling, Lilith decides to let her hands roam further, to see what the light would feel through human sense. The enticing extraness of sensation spurring her to be a bit more daring, a bit more aggressive. The second time around, Lilith hadn't realised that Celestine was pliant but that Lilith was strong. Everything felt fun and new as Celestine had transformed from soft to chiseled. As breath started to hitch once more, and blush returned to the Goddess cheeks, Lilith decided to try once more, with softer, less intrusive touches.

A scent of ozone brings Lilith to full awareness. Something like lightning cracks, multiple, smashing nearby. Celestine is to her feet in a blur as boltgun fire sounds outside, her face moving from a kind and loving expression to a sort of righteous fury that sends chills down the spines of any observers. "Ambushers!?" She cries out, blasting the stained glass window with raw force.

Lilith runs to the stain glass window, to peer outside hoping beyond hopes that the ozone was a coincidence. That… It hit her like a freight train. The essence was fed to Manth. Who probably didn't survive Celestine's light. The essence must have returned, and the essence she fed Manth… With wide eyes and a sunken heart she looks out. "Oh… Fuck, that's my ex."

The roar of fury that follows that declaration is intense, an Astartes reduced to slag and metal through the window's odd tinting whilst Celestine summons a long, broad sword as her armour clasps to her on its own. Divine steel locking tight to her frame whilst the glow returns painfully bright. "Your former love is a mad dog." She declares, floating up to the window.

"Yeah, we were working on that but she tried to kill my current wife and it was an either / or situation … Don't get involved with me probably." Lilith admitted, as she looked around for her clothes. Quickly getting dressed so, worst case scenarior, she didn't die naked.

"I do what I want, Lilith." The Saint declares loudly, placing her boot on the windowsill before rushing out through the stained glass and clearing a hundred yards in a blink. Kerrigan reacts like a lightningbolt, collapsing her wings around herself as the blade strikes, chipping into them and shaking the woman with the force.

"Surrender, and I will show you mercy!" Celestine demands, windows shattering at the force in her voice, a thunderstorm that had been forming above being shot through with sunrays as the psychic force of it is buffeted by her presence.

"The hell are you!?" The Queen of Blades shouts at the angelic woman, "And why do you smell like that bitch?!" A lightning bolt follows the exclamation, forcing the Saint back with a molten trench in her armour, having taken the blow, but not unscarred.

Lilith, thinking hard, trying to figure out how to help. Realising this was entirely her fault, that there was nothing she could do, but seeing the blast hitting the saint. They needed a saint, Kerrigan was making them look like crazed psykers or daemons. Then she decided to hit a nerve, "Why the fuck are you even mad?!" Lilith yelled, "You were the one who was trying to fucking murder people. Sucks when it happens to you huh?!" The she watched for a reaction, to see if she could break Kerrigan's concentration.

Eyes snapping to Lilith across the distance, a pulse of psychic force forms around her, and is then promptly broken by Celestine's armoured fist slamming into her in a dirty hit as soon as she turned to Lilith. Before she can fly away, the Saint shows a disturbing familiarity with handling wings as she grabs the bone taloned wings on Kerrigans back and twists her into a stone shattering slam into the road below.

Not giving even a second, she falls upon the Queen of Blades with brutal, lethal intent, fighting not for victory in glorious battle, but for a short, vicious kill. Still, with a psychic exertion on Kerrigan's part, a wall of force throws the Saint tumbling back, smashing into a statue that collapses nearly atop her. Rising from the smoke on one knee with a trickle of blood from her mouth, she calls out, "Surrender, now."

Finally, Lilith realises what she has to do, and yells the command for Kerrigan's Thanatomanic drive, "If Raynor loved you he wouldn't have left."

An immediate reaction, a cry, a twist of exertion and a peeling of flesh. But in a few seconds, Lilith realizes she's fighting it, flesh rippling in active adaptation, eyes shot through with rage as she clings to life.

"How the fuck are you doing that." She whispers, eyes wide with horror.

"I'm g-going to kill you." The growl from Sarah is bone chilling, promising utter agony soon. Celestine's charge pulls her attention from Lilith and back to the swordswoman, blocking and moving around the lethal edge of her blade, finding the Queen to be the fast, lithe combatant to Celestines seemingly unstoppable force, crashing through street barriers, slicing down trees and overturning cars like toys.

"You will not harm what's mine!" The Saint roars, a prideful call, a thrumming battlecry as she clashes with Kerrigan's wings again, forcing the other woman down and away, stumbling with the power of the impacts, rippling air coming from it.

There's a moment when Lilith hears that, that she wonders if it's possible that she's not just insanely charismatic. Which means maybe she can convince Kerrigan not to kill her if she has… Something? Why was everyone around her like this? Did she have a type, or was she a certain person's type.

And seconds after that, the Queen slips a wing past Celestine's guard and into her abdomen in a spurt of golden blood that turns red in the air.

"You just signed the death warrant for everything you know and love you stupid, crazy, vengeful asshole." Lilith said morosely, "All you had to do was show an ounce of concern for anyone but your fucking self and your fucking fury. But you don't. You hurt everyone around you. Kerrigan, fucking EVERYONE."

Blood falling from her mouth, Celestine, instead of dying at the traumatic injury, finds the strength to reach out and grab Kerrigan by the head, distracted as she is by Lilith's tirade, not able to focus on anything but the woman with hate in her eyes. "I absolve you." She declares, and the Queens psychic force is shattered by a tidal wave of golden light that goes off, filling the horizon like a bomb.

When the light clears, Celestine is up against a tree, holding the injury, and there's a deep crater, Kerrigan nowhere to be seen from past its lip. The Saint is obviously in pain, looking at the injury annoyedly.

"God damnit…" Lilith whispers, "All she had to do was show an ounce of affection once just once. I'll be glad when I'm fucking dead."

"May-May I make a suggestion, Lilith." The voice of the Saint is strained, rough and shot through with the bubbles of a pierced lung.

Lilith nods, quietly, "Yeah, I'm always looking for good advice." She rubs her eyes wanting to sob.

"Perhaps, you should pick lovers more carefully?" She laughs, pained as the golden flow slowly ceases from her injury, breathing carefully.

"Did I just get you killed? Like a true death?" Lilith whispers sadly, "I didn't mean too."

Celestine, mercifully, shakes her head, "S-so long as the Medicae!" She shouts clear across the city, shattering more windows, "Gets here sometime Soon!" Another shout, "I'll be christened with a new scar."

"I did not slay your former lover." She says, nodding to the crater, "I absolved her of her sin."

"What does that—" Lilith stares out the broken side of… The bedroom, down at the street, where Celestine laid, far but able to hear her from so far away. "What does that mean?"

A naked, tan-skinned hand pulls at the edge of the crater. Followed by a tired, exhausted face that collapses just as it exceeds the edge. Red hair flattening in a circle around her.

"Oh fuck." Lilith leaps out the stained glass window, sprinting barefoot off the roof to the tree catching on with muscle memory but with muscles not quite able to manage it. Her feet and arms and skin rip as she tears over to both of them. Sitting next to Sarah Kerrigan, the most jilted woman in the universe. "Fuck."

B01-028 - What's a little murder between friends?
Lilith sat with Sarah Kerrigan, a grim look on her face as she looked to Saint Celestine, "Does…" Lilith looked at the collapsed woman, "How much does she remember? What does… Absolving do?"

As a medic tends to her wound with a look of difficult concentration on his face, the Saint answers, "I forced her to confront her sins. All of them. If she's alive, then there must have been guilt."

"You know what I did," Lilith said looking at Saint Celestine, "Do you think she's still going to be pretty mad? Or do you think she'll understand?" Biting her lip thinking.

"I'm considering standing and sinking a blade into her." Celestine admits, "But it is not my place to decide the fate of another."

"
Do… You… Think it was forgivable?" Lilith said quietly, "Do you… I know you know the Truth, but I don't know if you understand nuance or… " She groaned, she wanted to wail on Sarah for coming back after everything. She hated herself, she hated everything. She hated this.

Pushing the medic off of her, Celestine rises to her feet, clinking plate and mail stained with her blood as she arrives next to Lilith, falling to a knee yet still towering over the woman. "Do not fall under her spell again, Lilith. She has torn your heart out again and again." The voice rises to a crescendo at the end.

"Yeah… But I can fix her…" She whispers, "This time will be different, she can learn." There's tears in Lilith's eyes as she stares at the crumpled form. "She has to face her problems now, she can't just kill everything in her way… She can learn…"

"But why bear her pain when she will not bear yours." Celestine asks, putting a mailed hand on Lilith's shoulder.

"She… She just wasn't ready yet… I didn't give her time." Lilith whispered, quietly looking at the unconscious person.

"Do you wish Truth or Lies." Celestine demands, suddenly, falling across the world with an eye of judgment.

Lilith looked at Celestine, "I prefer the truth, most of the time."

"Her heart is still with another. I can sense it." The Celestial woman speaks, vibrating the air.

Lilith stands up, and starts looking for a bolter, or a gun or a sword, "AFTER ALL THIS TIME!?" She's incessant, "STILL!?" Where is it, where… "Medicae," A demanding voice, a voice that commands Zerg in battle, "Give me your side-arm." She holds her hand out, as if the order will be followed.

"Obey, Medicae." The Saint backs the order softly as the man provides a thrumming laspistol, capacitor red with energy.

Screaming pointing it at Kerrigan, she tries to fire pointing it at her. "After ALL this fucking time you lied about moving on?! After the fucking battle?! AFTER KILLING A TWENTY FOOT TALL DEMON, CARRYING YOU OVER fifty miles AND TAKING THE ENTIRE PAIN OF YOUR REBUILDING FOR EIGHT WEEKS YOU STILL HADN'T moved ON!?"

She tries to fire, she wants to pull the trigger, "WAKE UP." Lilith demanded to the unconscious woman. "WAKE UP AND ANSWER ME."

The body doesn't move, save for short breaths. Uncaring of Lilith's demands as the stress mounts on it. Celestine is still there, putting a hand on Lilith's back, supporting her physically as she wrestles with the decision.

"I LET YOU KILL ME, THREE. TIMES. I LET YOU SIT ME IN A CORNER AND SHOW ME NO PHYSICAL AFFECTION. I LET YOU INSULT THE ONLY PERSON SHOWING ME AFFECTION. THE ENTIRE, FUCKING, TIME. AFTER HOW MANY FUCKING YEARS KERRIGAN?"

"Because," She's getting low now, pissed, kicking rocks, "Because I needed to know after you were gone. I looked. You knew him for two years. Total, And after that, it was brief visits. You're not in love with HIM you're in love with the idea of him. YOU don't know when something is REAL. I bent HEAVEN and EARTH to get you somewhere stable, and you IMMEDIATELY tried to murder someone the fucking minute it didnt' go your way. You sat me in a fucking…"

"say something. Sarah." Lilith demanded, "Fucking say something,"

"SAY SOMETHING." Lilith fired the las pistol off to the side of the crater. "FUCKING SAY SOMETHING!"

The scarlet beam digs a hole into the earth with a burst of superheated air. The woman on the ground doesn't react even to the heat, completely still, breathing in short breaths.

"Celestine…" Lilith moans… "Am I yelling at an unconscious person?"

"Would it help if I said no?" The Saint rubs Lilith's back, heavy armoured gauntlet surprisingly comforting.

"I can't do it, I can't murder an unconscious person on the ground. We can take her back to the swarm just not… Queen of Blades her again. She can just be a normal fucking…" She looks to the Medicae, "Abhuman."

"If you are certain. I can carry your burden, Lilith." Celestine promises with a tight grip on her blade.

"I'm not. I just… Can't. It's… She was…" Lilith looks at the blade, it'd be so easy, to just nod her head and let the problem go away, but then… She wouldn't… That's what Sarah did. The only partner she expelled, that's her hard line. Relationship, Love, Lust, you don't… Kill people for pissing you off. "Did anyone die in this fight?" Lilith asks, Celestine.

"One." She calmly states, trying to keep her voice even. "A guard Astartes th—."

Lilith pulled the trigger, filling the body with lasers. Clean, surgical holes appearing through it, almost too perfect. "You just… Couldn't stop killing people Sarah. People are people, you never understood that." She whispered quietly. "I would never kill Ana, or Zhakarov, or anyone for… Pissing me off. Cheating on me, or trying to steal my relationships maybe, but not… Not people trying to make it work. You never understood that."

"Would you like to go back to your love, Lilith?" The Saint asks, wings flexing.

"I can't…" Lilith cries, "She's going to be so upset… She's gonna be so sad that I'm like this…"

"Then, would you like to stay with me?" She asks, a little quieter, with maybe a flicker of hope in her strained voice.

"Do you know… A doctor? A like… Psyker doctor? People act weird around me, and I'm starting to think it's my fault," Lilith admits finally, "People who… Shouldn't, it doesn't make sense, people far more powerful, and capable, and important, it happens everywhere I go. I think… I think there might be something screwy with my head."

"I know." The Living Saint answers softly, "I possess the sight of all Truth Lilith, you were wrought a destiny in this land. Your fate is written by hands beyond mine." Her voice rises to a crescendo again, flickering winds flaring and pulling leaves off trees. "I know not who, I know not whether they wrote something good, something bad or anything else."

A memory spikes through Lilith, a cackling bird head, as if on cue, waiting for this moment.

"I… I don't think." She looks at Saint Celestine, "How did you become a saint?" Lilith asked, "I'm going to hang with you a tiny bit."

"I died." Celestine answers, offering a hand to Lilith. "The first time, it was sheer chance. A shell from orbit landed mere metres from me. I was gone in a blink."

Taking Celestine's hand, Lilith walks with her but she feels so fragile and weak, she missed her zerg form. She just listened to her.

"It wasn't painful." She walks away from the battlefield with a light discomfort, "More or less a flash. I wouldn't awaken for centuries."

"Oh…" Lilith whispered, "Had a small hope that…" She shook her head.

"A hope?" She says, fluttering her wings to pull up and into a building's roof, not bothering with doors as it seems.

"If I want to be safe, I need to be with the swarm. If I'm with the swarm, I… Probably won't have much to offer you…" She whispers to herself, "I had hope there was a… Like a thing. In the Swarm you want to be the best you just keep rewriting yourself keep training you die you go back to the hive you rewrite and you keep learning."

"The truth is, Lilith. I am a warrior." She admits, sitting on the tarmac of the roof, "I will die. It's come close just a year ago when a Daemon's axe was in my lung. And when I do, I may awaken in an hour, I may awaken in a century." The words are mildly annoying for her to say, as if admitting this flaw irks her.

"What you have is permanent, it is there. When it dies, it comes back. I…I return at the Emperor's will." The Saint clarifies.

"I…" Lilith realizes that if she has a fate maybe this is it. Maybe this is… "Is… That… Do you prefer it that way?" She whispers, quietly.

"I hate it. I hate losing everyone I know, having my memory shorn, my life torn to pieces and returning on a battlefield." The admissions keep slipping from the Saint.

"Come with me…" She whispers, "We fight the Daemons too… I just need to get back in, and then I can add you." She whispers at a low low level, "You know the truth, you know I can do it."

"Do you remember the lessons of the faith, Lilith?" The Saint asks, mostly rhetorically, "Duty, Honour, Hope. The last one is most commonly sacrificed. I ride to battle on wings of fire tomorrow, we move to Terra, and then further afield." She looks at the sky above.

"I'll move the Swarm to Terra then, we'll take… Whatever you're fighting there, and then the next place. And the next place… When…" Then she realizes quietly, "I'm not in the swarm…"

"I can't let you die for nothing." She rubs Lilith's back, "I do not think I make it out of this crusade, nor most of the armies following."

"Bullshit," Lilith says, "You're making it out of tomorrow. You're going to fight you're going to win and I'll let all the swarm shit get blasted off me again for a day."

Celestine looks at Lilith with a smile, "Love is fantastic, you know? It's unmatchable. But this sacrifice isn't on a whim." She breathes in, "Lord Guilliman must make it before his father. No matter the cost."

"Celestine… Promise me I wasn't separated from the other two for some reason…" She asks quietly, trying to figure out why she'd pick her why… Maybe figure out why her self-esteem was so low. "Nevermind. I'm… Fucked. Again."

"Because you were the only one who didn't immediately shrink at my gaze." Something almost human comes out of the Saint.

"You can't make me love you then die the next fucking day." Lilith whimpered, "That's…" Then she looked at the imperium again and seethed. Looked at their lauded city with it's great heights with it's fucking glory and HONOR and DUTY. An empire of people dying so that great men can have great meetings. She hated this fucking place.

"Terrible." The Saint declared, "But, I will be back, Lilith. You are immortal, so…" She looks hopefully, "Wait for me?" Meeting Lilith's eyes with something glimmering, "Find me, remind me of who I am."

"Are you not even going to know…" Lilith whispers, her heart actually falling, "That's just a saying right, not like… Literally?"

"I think you, I'll remember." She promises.

"If you don't, I'll Kill you again." Lilith said angrily, pouting frustrated. Then a billion other feelings the swarm had taken away. Hungry, cold, tired, sleepy, thirsty, fragile, sick, frail…No pure drip of dopamine and serotonin. Just empty feelings except for the ones she loved in an empty world that sends people to die, in an empty fucking galaxy that just wants to wipe each other out. When she got back to the swarm, this would no longer stand. There would be no more of this terribleness. "I need to return to the swarm if we make it to Terra." She decided. "The Swarm, the Zerg will get Guilliman to his fucking meeting. I will see you safe there. I'm sorry, I have a different set of values, Relationships, Love, and then a third one that I've not got a great name for. I need to return to my wife and the swarm tonight. I'm sorry."

"Why be sorry?" She says, holding Lilith to her as wings flex, "You are following your heart."

Lilith returned her hug. Letting the moment sit.

"I… Kept things in my body. Did those fall out or… Am I in danger?"

The fleet in orbit shifts as the day passes, Lilith recovering from the pain of re-infestation in Anastasia's chambers, enjoying being doted on by her wife who consistently refuses any attempt for her to get out of bed. As the world spins fully to the next daylight, shuttles are loading with warriors actively, people packed up and into space every minute, tens of thousands at a time.

Ana looks at the shooting stars of shuttle exhaust, saying, "It's always odd when we march to war, it looks… almost peaceful, when not near the conscription grounds."

"The Zerg need to assist on Terra," Lilith said for the hundredth time, "We need to get involved I'm tired of this place fucking sucking. Constantly." She was in misery, not physically the body had healed for the most part almost instantaneously, but the Swarm-space had been flooded with her… Piety, when it came to Saint Celestine. Lilith had a roaring itch to fight and slay "The Great Enemy," Especially where Celestine might be.

"She… hugged you? And you fell for her?" Ana suddenly says at the burst of obsession. "That's all I had to do? I didn't have to seduce you at all!" She's pacing through the room.

"No? I love people." Lilith said quietly, "People are special. You're special. I do have to be attracted to you, and you have to say you love me at some point… I think. I wasn't obsessed until I saw her kill Kerrigan. So I guess you could have also probably shot me with a bolter."

Staring at her love with a mix of befuddlement and simple adoration, Anastasia says, "God Emperor on Terra, you are a mess sometimes." A smile follows the exclamation.

With a nod that is almost serene, "Yeah but… How many people have had an incredibly romantic moment with a Saint, and then choose to return to their one true love? So I have my benefits too."

Anastasia's breath catches at that, a hard reset found in her. "T-that is a benefit." She's intently looking at Lilith now, "We have business today." The Witch tries to distract as a lho stick rises to her mouth, ignited quickly and beginning to puff out smoke.

"Can I burn you with one of these some day," Lilith asks, as she picks up the pack and takes out one herself. Lighting it with a lighter on Ana's night stand.

"Only if you kiss it after." She smirks through the smoke, settling into the chemical haze and relaxing quickly.

Lilith looks at her, "You're are so brave, you know where I kiss."

The smirk slips into a grin, "Come now Lilith. You know I'll repay the favour." A dark gravel to her voice slipping as she takes another puff.

"That's what makes it so much fun some day, we'll know the exact limit and get to play with that forever." It was clearly meant romantically, but the energy had an odd manic malice to it. Then, quietly she whispered, "I miss Manth… The dream sex was nice."

"You know…." Ana says, "I do know how to…Oneiromance."

"I think we're already pretty good at romance already aren't we?" Lilith asks, taking another puff.

Laughing, she explains, "It means to enter dreams, love."

"Yeah, but you saw the dreams, in my memories? Would you walk into that? Willingly?" Lilith asks, looking at her with awe and wonder. The same way Anastasia looks at a Saint, Anastasia realizes.

"For you?" Anastasia lets that linger as she leans forwards, bending at the waist to be in line with Lilith's face, "I'd go much further." A wicked grin splits her face as she blows smoke out into her love's face.

"Fuck our plans," Lilith said with wild eyes, as she snatches at the back of Anastasia's neck and pulls her into a kiss.

B01-029 - Just Chatting
"So you are serious." Ana asks, the image of Zhakarov in the Behemoth as they communicate with the Swarm. "You really want the Swarm to follow through dozens, if not hundreds of Chaos held systems, to fight through to Terra?" The question lingers on Lilith.

"Why are we busy with some other project? Every Chaos held system is another foot hold for the Swarm." Lilith says plainly, "We do the same shit we've been doing, until we get there, and we create a holding station that lets us retake it."

"Lilith isn't wrong." Zhakarov speaks up, finally. "This is an opportunity for the Swarm to expand in leaps, bounds. Merely farming one system is limiting."

There was now some nerves, generally, Zhakarov didn't agree with her, either she had landed on something, or… "Are you at all upset we murdered the Queen?" She looks at the screen. Studying it closely.

"Not meaningfully." Zhakarov answers, "Her power is a loss. But her instability is a gain." Clipped, careful and selected words leave no room to interpret his statements.

"Have we figured out a way to expand to other systems yet, or is it still communication based colonies?" Lilith asks, the real worry on her mind.

"Taking a page from the Queen of Blades, we have evolved Brood Queens, capable of holding broods under their sway." The Swarm Manager states calmly, "They will govern in our stead."

"How do you stop the Brood Queens from starting another Brood war, like the Cerebrates did?" Lilith was worried, and she rubbed her neck.

"They cannot hold more than one world's worth of Zerg." The only man answers. "Not a threat, not truly."

She looks at Zhakarov, "What's the best way I can help, but stay out of the way. My last attempt to help was… Catastrophic, unless you count Varynna. Then the attempt before that was Catastrophic."

"Continue attempts to convince Celestine to join the Swarm." The man shrugs, "Replacement, superior of Queen of Blades, defeated her in single combat."

"I had a plan on that actually as well, she's on Terra, but I also needed to talk to Abathur before I'm sure." Lilith said, looking at Zhakarov. "I looked at a lot of memories, but I don't know Why it had to be Sarah Kerrigan. If I take the pain for Ana, maybe we can juice her to Queen of Blades level psychic abilities." There was a moment if she wondered if she had discussed this with Anastasia yet, the look on her face seemed to imply that she had not. "The Queen's biggest issue was that she sucked as a person. A normal, caring, loving person in the same situation would be invaluable."

"Perhaps." Zhakarov agrees, once again unnerving Lilith whilst Ana frowns, "Wait just a moment. I wasn't caught up with this, love!?" A rapid question, trying to figure out what just happened.

"I wasn't saying do it, but it's no use even discussing it if it's not possible I wouldn't know what to ask you to agree to!" She wondered if Ana even listened to what she said, or could just translate the double-speak from her thoughts directly now.

"I-ugh, I hate transmitting and talking." Ana bemoans, "We can talk about this after."

"I am marshaling the Leviathan fleet. We will meet your Imperial fleet. I'd recommend contacting their leader, so we are not shot at." Zhakarov states, cutting the link.

She gives Zhakarov a big thumbs up, "Wait you said you'd get Abathu—" She looks, then back to Ana, "I guess the line is dead. I don't think he liked the idea."

"Queen of Blading me?" Ana asks in a whispered hiss, "What would I even do with that power?"

"Uh… Make me not worry that you're going to get hurt? Rip ships out of the sky? Blow up twenty foot demons with your mind" Those are all things I've seen her to do like… Lately?" Lilith said, as if the question itself was ridiculous. "Not literally, god I hate her. I'm just saying lets get you the power to control the swarm and start throwing tanks around. I'm running out of gift ideas."

She shrugs eventually, "Well…cosmic power doesn't sound so bad." Ana admits with a lip twitch, "I just dislike the comparison, I suppose."

"That's fair, it's fairly unpleasant. You're melted down, but not completely into essence, and then your brain is actively implanted with Zerg Cells, but the human tissue is left as is. I think. It's extremely painful until the process is finished." Lilith muses, thinking about what happened to the Queen of Blades in her mind.

"Respectfully to Abathur's work. Fuck that." Ana responds in a very measured tone, "All of that." She emphasizes.

"When we fixed her the second time, we learned we could just hook her pain nerves to my brain, so I just felt everything while she was under the knife." Lilith shuddered, her eyes going a bit wide at the thought. A light dying for just a moment as she heard a high pitched whistle. Then she was back, "But I got over it. You just put things like that in the box."

Ana reaches out and strokes Lilith's leg from where she's sitting cross legged.

"I did that for a woman who couldn't hug me." Lilith said, her eye twitching a bit. A deep, angry bile in her throat. "Even right after, I had to be big spoon. Isn't that funny." Her throat catching as it burns.

"You don't let me big spoon often enough." Ana says, rising to her feet smoothly as she slips behind Lilith and embracing her. "I like taking care of you Lilith, can I do it more?" She whispers carefully as she senses her love's pain.

"Eight weeks." She said, falling into her arms, "Eight weeks. Haha." Lilith letting her head rest on Anastasia. "It's funny, is all. Haha." The "laugh" was very hollow and dead.

"I love you, I know I can't make that go away." Ana mumbles into Lilith, "But I can love you now. And hope it helps." The embrace is briefly tighter, "Sometimes I wish I'd have fought the Queen, I think I could have managed something, maybe spared you the pain."

"I learned a lesson." Lilith said, emotionally flat suddenly, a small light getting snuffed out. "I actually learned two. Always check your essence after your re-birth. Never give up on someone who makes you happy."

Ana asks gently, "How can I make this better?" Trying to find footing in an unfamiliar situation, her voice is low.

"Keep hugging me, and telling me I'm good, great even. Tell me my feelings are valid." Lilith said quietly, squeezing Ana's arms tight to herself.

"You are my perfect, great, beautiful wife. I love everything about you." Ana starts to say with warmth, smiling through the words, "Your feelings are just as beautiful as you, your love is like the sun to me, when you're sad, the world is darker for it."

The words soothe Lilith's mind, a balm to her feelings and wounds, and without realization she drifts to a peaceful loving sleep.

A shuttle carries the Swarm's representatives, all two of them, to the unbelievably massive ship of the Primarch-Lord. Slipping past the vast blue and black armour plating to arrive in the docking bays of the megaship, feeling like an ant before its layers and layers and layers of guns.

Varynna is on her own ship, guiding the, now small-seeming, battleship through the void in a holding formation, unable to join as she prepares to go to war. A fleet gathers in the void around Macragge's Honour, hundreds of ships and with more to join as the warfleet pushes through hostile systems.

Landing in the bay, the doors slip open and blue-armoured Astartes await the two women, crackling vox-communicators activating as they speak, "An audience with Primarch Guilliman was requested. Follow." Booming tones controlled by the helmet.

With a squeeze of Anastasia's hand, Lilith had fire raging inside of her. Finally, someone at the head of all this… Awfulness. A single point that she could talk too and figure out how they live with themselves. Ana's hand was soft in her own, but she couldn't stand everything she had seen so far. Not in Ana's thoughts when she drifted to the empire. Not in Varynna's thoughts, when she thought no-one noticed her drifting back. Not in the looks of fear in the eyes of almost everyone she meets, fear of something, fear of their own society. It made her sick, but… She couldn't stop thinking about the burns. The clean burn of being purified by light. By being touched by something far more powerful than herself.

It was a feeling she was familiar with, an… Innate part of how she felt about people. She was always chasing those who seemed stronger, more capable… Better. Whatever… Energy Celestine seemed to run on gave her a taste of something… Different. For lack of a better word, she found it sexy, but wholesome.

Ana held Lilith's hand, and felt a pang of nerves. The tiny woman just spoke, without trepidation for better or worse. Lord Guilliman, at least to her, did not seem to be one who she should just speak too thoughtlessly. Though she thought the same of Varynna. Now without thinking, maybe without even being aware of what she was committing too, she was taking trillions of Zerg through the Warp, through chaos systems, to retake a planet she had never even seen. For a woman she knew for less than two hours. She still couldn't decide if it was hopelessly romantic, or exceedingly stupid. Though rarely were the too very far apart

Its a surprisingly spartan chamber. A bed with only the barest obeisance to luxuries in its blue and gold coloured sheets, a simple desk, luxurious merely due to being suited for his size and the quality of its construction. Bare floors, bare walls and a stand that could hold the armour he is currently in proving to be a central piece of the chamber.

"You have something to ask, allies?" He gently speaks, merely a rumbling engine rather than a burst of shellfire in the small quarters of the room. Mechanically augmented fingers putting down a pen.

With a quick glance to Ana, before stepping forward getting more comfortable leading without being a nuisance. "Something to give," Then realizing her reputation and behaviour, quickly added, "I meant our forces. We wish to lend our services to get you to Terra. I fully admit it's for selfish reasons however." The man looked like he appreciated one being straight forward, and honest. "Our people need planets, and most of the Chaos systems will likely need to be held. I've also grown… Attached to Saint Celestine and Varynna, I would rather not be a gadabout at home while there is work to be done." Quieter she admits, "I have no other duties left at this point."

Piercing blue eyes turn, "You hate this place, yet you will fight for it." There's something like wryness to him. Almost as if the demigod across from Lilith can relate.

"I will fight for the people in it, sir." Lilith says, with a deep breath, "I will fight for Celesti– Saint Celestine, For Lord Admiral Varynna, for my own people, for the Astartes arm wrestling at a ball." She looks to Anastasia, "For the… Astropaths who make me feel loved." Her jaw sets though as she thinks further on it, trying to get her mind together and explain. "I will fight for it's people, not necessarily it's… System." The venomous word caused Ana to give a bone-crushing grip on Lilith's hand, and a quiet hiss in Lilith's mind to be polite. To think.

"Good." Its a simple and solid declaration as he keeps searching for something in Lilith, seeing as much, if not more than any Zerg ever could, "Duty, Honour, all that pales in comparison to the drive of the heart. Loyalty, borne of love of any stripe. That is what will see us through." A surprising statement from one that seems so entrenched in the dogma of this place, practically worshipped by everyone who casts their eyes upon him.

"You hate this galaxy because it is decayed, rotten. You hate it because there are glimmers of something greater beneath the corpse that now sits, bloated and twisted atop those foundations we built." He turns fully from his desk, giving every inconceivably sharp ounce of focus he can on the two women, "But tell me this, do you want it burnt to ashes?"

"There's gotta be somewhere in between burning it to ashes and living in misery. I want people happy, or at least… Happier. I'd want to just… Get people to understand each other better, and hope that does good." Then, that fire roars in her gut, something… Manic, that steel that Varynna mentioned, the obsession that Ana felt the wild… Feeling. Something about the Light that made it more focused. "If it seemed like that was the only way, and at the end of the pyre people were living safe and happy somehow though… I'd do it. I wouldn't want it, or feel good about it, but I'm starting to feel a certain way about the people I keep meeting."

"When I awoke." Guilliman answers, "I had thoughts much the same, perhaps even darker. I begged an unanswering sky for answers all the same. I asked, I demanded it show me that my life." The first beginnings of a frown fall on his face, "Had not been lived in vain, that this was not all I had built come to roost."

"It was only by that same Saint that I dragged my mind out of the pit, and settled myself for the truth." The energy returns to the Primarch, something like drive but inviolable, a will that will change the galaxy or die trying. "It is not the place of leaders to condemn their people no matter their mistakes, those like us must push forth, salvage the lost dream, build again, no matter the cost, the peace must be remade."

With a brimming smile, that probably was inappropriate for the situation she realized, she said. "That's one of the first hopeful things I've heard in a while… I think. How long had it been? Between when you slept, and when you woke?"

"My brother's blade took my throat in the thirtieth millennium." The Primarch answers, looking distantly for less than a tenth of a second, "We are in the forty-first now."

"Since our… Abilities seem to function very similar to yours, I think we're from the second." Lilith says, looking at Anastasia. "Things were… How did it get like this?

"The sky has no answer for us." Guilliman speaks firmly, "My father…he must have something, anything at all. Else this truly all falls on us alone."

Remembering Ana's memory, the skeleton of leathery skin and plumbing, "Have… You… Seen him in any way, recently." Trying to approach it very delicately.

He nods, "I observed him when the Golden Throne first jabbed into his dying body. I know he lives in cursed half-death. I do not need his speech." A grim tone emanates from the Primarch, "He is to me as I am to a normal man. All I need is his excuse, for all this. The reason in all his power he allowed this." Something like rage sparks and is ruthlessly disarmed by a honed mind. "And if he cannot provide. I will march forwards without the old man."

"Are…" Lilith takes a deep breath, then exhales, "Are you prepared for the possibility that he didn't allow it? That he couldn't stop it? He's…" Then she stopped, this must be twelve kinds of sacrilege.

"That nothing remains of my father after ten thousand years? That the husk on the Throne is a mad skeleton, possessed of world shaking power?" The Primarch finishes the thought.

She nods, quietly, "Yeah, that's what I thought when I saw Ana's… Memory."

He points to a statuette, it is a hand-made replica of Saint Celestine, carved carefully in salvaged rock-crete. "A guardsman's statuette, carved by a combat knife in a battlefield somewhere I couldn't fathom. That, is my hope. My father has enough presence to craft defenders. He still has the mind to love Mankind." Turning his gaze away from the statuette to a double headed eagle on the wall, "And if that is all that remains of him, it will be enough."

Lilith bites her talon suddenly, very aware of how much she related with Guilliman, not romantically for once, but just knowing he too cared made him seem… Worthy… Of something she didn't know what, respect? "I'd like my forces to get you there, any way we can, and every system we take we'll hold, so you can have an easy path back." Then quieter, "And help you if the Mechanicum gets… Do you have squirrels? Squirrely."

"Speak to Arch Magos Cawl if you wish to sense the Mechanicum's mood, I leave their management to hi-it." He rephrases at the last second, shaking his head, "And for your help, be aware. We fight through the forces of hell itself. Twisted magics and warp-wrought steel alike will be in our path. Many will die, likely including yourself." It's a firm warning, there's no doubt in his mind of the bloody toll this will extract.

"I…" She's quiet, biting her lip, knowing he knows but still once scared to speak her mind. "If… A man" She says very carefully, "Chooses to continue fighting, as long as they have breath, and about ten minutes, I can get them back up again. As I did Varynna."

"Few will accept that offer." Guilliman cautions.

"Then, the ones that do, have them pick a way to signal in some way, or… Keep them grouped in some way, or just… Relate to us in some way. Those that choose, are welcome, as long as they choose and it's not forced." Lilith gulps, "It would make me feel better knowing that those that died, even me, had every option presented." Then she looks to Ana, "But I'm willing to die for… God I was not like this a few years ago." She says quietly, "I'm willing to die for the few good people I met.

"If I had ten thousand like you, we'd have won already." The assurance is strange from this icon of the Imperium, as if a legend decided to look down and pick someone out from a crowd. "We set burn for Terra in an hour. I expect to arrive in a month."

"Saint… Celestine, and Varynna… Is it, are they on the same ship? If not, nevermind, but I don't know if you can ship hop in the warp? I want to spend the time with the people I've met." She said, quietly, looking at the floor.

"I would recommend the Herald, then. Saint Celestine is in this vessel, but she has no trouble moving where she wishes. Lord Admiral Varynna is mortal by comparison." He picks the pen up and continues scribing something as the conversation seems to be lulling.

She looks at Guilliman, studying him. She realized that whatever light shined from Saint Celestine, the Anastasia had felt, it was… nice, but nothing compared to the… Feeling she got when he made her want to follow. An odd sense of… It frustrated her that she couldn't put a finger on it. "I see why everyone likes you." Lilith says, quietly, before realizing. "There… May be a complication to, plan around, if possible. A bird, turned my Queen back to human. It repeated Truth at me, at first I thought it was talking about our love. When Saint Celestine and I talked, and she said the word. I could hear it cackle."

"Games of Daemons." The Primarch declares, "They always play them, up until they are dragged down by them. Do not pay it heed, for the doubt is what they wish to overcome you."

Lilith snorted at that, "Far greater things have tried," before realizing how arrogant she must sound. "I think, whatever it is, whatever they are, will find they have made a terrible mistake toying with my heart and those I love." That conviction is back, the fire. A devotion to something greater, but not the God Emperor necessarily, almost certainly not, but the light behind him. The light that made her feel right. "I uh… Didn't stick around to be braggadocious," really, five dollar word Lilith, "Who… Do you talk too? Normally I mean." She tries to hide the concern in her voice, hoping it doesn't seem… Patronizing.

"On what subject?" The Lord questions, curious as to where this goes.

"Like, just chat? Get drinks, read books?" Lilith asks curiously, not entirely sure either, just… Trying to figure him out. "You're very important to the Imperium I know, but everyone seems so shocked when they're treated like normal people. It… Makes me concerned… When I meet new ones."

"I speak mostly to myself." He smiles lightly at that, "I generally don't have a conversational partner for…leisure, anymore." Guilliman calmly admits, without a great worry or anything of the sort. "I slept in dream and nightmare for ten thousand years, I can bear a few years of focus and isolation."

What the fuck are you doing Lilith, "Well, what we can bear, and what we must bear are… Far apart. I know you can work a vox, I have one, Varynna, Celestine, and I will all be on the same ship. If you with to talk, you can of course it's an offer."

The Primarch nods, "Your kindness is appreciated. I will seek it out if I require it, Lilith Von Illar." An actual response, not just words to please Lilith. Still, it seems unlikely he will seek it out, from all accounts, Guilliman isn't one to lean on others.

"Well, I may want to call as well, if you're not busy. I know Varynna is very fond of you, we can just talk." She still was very unclear what she was doing, or why bring Varynna into it at all. Still, it was true, maybe if she called around similar times he'd make time.

Another nod as he focuses fully on his letter, "If I am free, I will always heed the call of those who follow me."

Then with an awkward courtesy that immediately felt incorrect in her leathery outfit, she said, "Well I'll call then, and we'll take our leave! I can't wait to see what happens when we win."

Then to Ana, in her mind she says, Ok, I get it about the light now. With a turn she moved to leave.
