Welcome to my Candy Store! (Willy Wonka Management Quest.)

Ramble's Name Gummed Up In Committee.
Candy Idea: Name Gummed Up In Committee
A minty Gum or Taffy that sticks to dental plaque and pulls it away. A blatant attempt to make dad hate us less maybe. Doesn't replace a toothbrush or floss, but effectiveness per attempt is really secondary to consistency anyway.

21- Holy shit, those rolls.
[X] Plan: Expansion, Expansion, Expansion
-[x] Lightning Lemons: These exciting and electrical lemon-flavored licorice and pop-rock strips will give you the power to shock all you want along with its electrifying flavor. You can even use it to power electrical devices!
-[x] Upgrade the Building once again.
-[x] Hire yet another Employee to help man the store.

Fred had shown you his latest creation, the Lightning Lemons, they were lemon-flavored licorice and pop-rock strips, that were supposed to give whoever ate it the ability to generate small electrical shocks, nothing bad enough to hurt anyone... but it could power an electrical device. And you trusted what Fred told you.

Lightning Lemons Research Roll: 97.

The Lightning Lemons had come out shockingly splendid, they were definitely a fun candy to eat, even if they were a tad too sour for your tastes... but the small static shocks you could create were just wonderful! You loved it.

After that, Kelly had made more candy, and restocked the shelves. Bless that woman, she helped out so much, even with her having just been relatively recently employed.

Wonka Bars, Laffy Taffy, Ice Mice, Toothie Fruities, Nerds, Never-ending Gum, and Lightning Lemons have been restocked by Kelly Jones. (400/400. For more Storage, upgrade the building)

After that, you decided to upgrade the building once again.

How do you want to upgrade the building?

[] Upgrade Storage (400 > 800. Costs: 10 Wealth.)
[] Upgrade your Research Station (+10 to Candy Research)
[] Upgrade the front of the store. (+10 to Sales)
[] Upgrade your candy-making tools (+10 to Candy Creation)
[] Add a Second Floor to your building (+8 more Employee Space. Costs 20 Wealth.)
[] Write-in (Write-in a custom choice):

Afterward, you decided that you were going to hire at least one new employee. You definitely had the room, that's for sure.

After a little while, four people had come in, and they all looked at least, relatively good.

103: The first person to show up, was a lightly tanned woman with black hair tied into a bun, named Candace Godiva, a stern-looking woman, with a secret love for all things candy, you saw her practically drool at your confectionaries, she seemed like she'd make for a great assistant, or second in command.

65: The second person to show up was an average-looking man named Henry Truffle, he seemed like a good, honest man... but didn't seem too unique other than those two traits.

102: The third person was a burly man with brown hair and a great big, bushy beard, named Heath York, he told you that he was a budding candy researcher over at one of your rival companies, but was fired for not being able to figure out how the Wonka Bars were made. But, he then told you that... he knew exactly how they were made, but didn't feel right stealing the recipe of a fellow hard-working candy maker, and wanted to work for you, as in his words you were... "A genius beyond our time, in terms of candy-making"

88: And finally, was a dark-skinned woman with bright orange, dyed hair named Karla Honey, she seemed like the tomboyish sort, and looked to be a good saleswoman, which seemed good.

Now, you had to figure out who to hire, and how many you would... you certainly had the room for them all.

Who do you hire to work at Wonka's Candies?
[] Hire one of them.
-[] Candace Godiva.
-[] Henry Truffle.
-[] Heath York.
-[] Karla Honey.
[] Hire two of them.
-[] Candace Godiva.
-[] Henry Truffle.
-[] Heath York.
-[] Karla Honey.
[] Hire three of them.
-[] Candace Godiva.
-[] Henry Truffle.
-[] Heath York.
-[] Karla Honey.
[] Hire all four of them.
[] Don't pick any of them.
___

Holy shit, those rolls were pretty damn good.

And just like that, I'm finally finished with the update! Woohoo! Off to bed for me.

Please use a Plan Format.

22- Four Fantastic Employees.
[X] Plan: The More the Merrier
-[X] Upgrade Storage (400 > 800. Costs: 10 Wealth.)
-[X] Hire four of them.
--[X] Candace Godiva.
--[X] Heath York.
--[X] Henry Truffle
--[X] Karla Honey.

You decided to hire all four of them, they all just looked so good! You couldn't possibly not hire any of them.

And now... you had to figure out where to assign everyone.

Candace Godiva (Roll: 103)

A stern, lightly tanned woman with black hair tied into a bun, she seems stern but has a secret love for all things sweet.

PERKS:

Astonishing Assistant: Gives Willy Wonka a +10 to all Rolls and 1 extra AP.

Where do you assign Candace Godiva? (This happens after this turn)

[] Assign her to Sales.

[] Assign her to Candy Research.

[] Assign her to Candy Making.

[] Assign her to assisting you in your work, as your second-in-command.

[] Write-in (Write-in a custom choice):

Heath York (Roll: 102)

A burly man with brown hair and a great big, bushy beard, he used to work for one of your rivals, but was fired after he failed to copy your recipe. Thing is, he knew exactly what it was... he just didn't feel right stealing it.

PERKS:

Reverse Engineering: Whenever he wants, Heath can reverse engineer any candy given to him.

Candy Crazed: +15 when assigned to Candy Research.

Where do you assign Heath York? (This happens after this turn)

[] Assign him to Sales.

[] Assign him to Candy Research.

[] Assign him to Candy Making.

[] Write-in (Write-in a custom choice):

A dark-skinned woman with bright orange hair, she seems like a tomboy.

PERKS:

Tomboyish Charm: +10 to Sales.

Where do you assign Karla Honey? (This happens after this turn)

[] Assign her to Sales.

[] Assign her to Candy Research.

[] Assign her to Candy Making.

[] Write-in (Write-in a custom choice):

After assigning the four new employees to their positions in the company, you then decided to add some more storage to your store, it cost quite a bit... but you were fine with that..

Storage has been upgraded. 400 > 800. Next upgrade is: 800 > 1600. Costs: 20 Wealth.

You have lost 10 Wealth.

After that, you opened the store, to sell your candy to the masses. You hoped the new Lightning Lemons sold well, they were definitely a good candy.

Wonka Bar Sales: 377.

Laffy Taffy Sales:
814.

Ice Mice Sales:
300.

Toothy Fruity Sales:
349.

Nerds Sales:
312.

Never-ending Gum Sales:
118.

Lightning Lemon Sales:
769.

Holy hell, Joe and Ruby had quickly run out of stock of Laffy Taffy and Lightning Lemons, that's for sure... sadly, the Never-ending Gum had quite the decline in sales, probably due to the gum never ending. If you already had one, and it didn't end... why buy another? Maybe there will be more sales later on though, perhaps more people would want to try it out. (Laffy Taffy gains a temporary +414 next time you sell candy.) (Lightning Lemons gains a temporary +369 next time you sell candy.)

You have gained 223 Wealth. (Noticed my math was fucked, and I was counting the ones above the Storage Limit, as if we were selling that much... counted both of the ones above 400, as 40 for the math)

You have lost 24 Wealth from Joe Bucket's, Fred Morter's, Ruby Williams', Kelly Jones', Candace Godiva's, Heath York's, Henry Truffle's, and Karla Honey's Employment, and 1 Wealth from Advertisement. In Total: 25 Wealth.

You now have 716 Wealth.

You had managed to make a crapload of money, so that was good.

Afterward, Fred had rushed into your office wanting you to see his latest, and in his opinion, greatest candy to date.

"Alright then, let's see it," You said, as you placed the documents containing the math on how much money you made, down.

Fred grinned, and began to quickly regale you on his latest candy creation.

What Candy do you want Fred Morter to Research? (Choose one)

[] A Variation of the Wonka Bar.
-[] Fudgemallow Delight Wonka Bars.
-[] Chilly Chocolate Creme Wonka Bars.
-[] Triple Dazzle Caramel Wonka Bars.
-[] Nutty Crunch Surprise Wonka Bars.
-[] Cherished Chestnut: This form of Wonka Bar is made of dark chocolate and roasted chestnuts, they always bring wonderful warmth both to bodies and hearts!

[] Blood Pops: A lollipop that tastes like blood.

[] Butterbeer: A "beer" made out of butterscotch, sugar, and water, it had a very slight alcoholic content, but was deemed safe enough for children to have one.

[] Star Drops: A combination of Sun and Moon Drops, with a citrus cream flavor, that causes you to sparkle with motes of light. Must Research Sun Drops and Moon Drops to Research.

[] Bizzy Bees: A bafflingly buzzing bee-shaped candy for the busy that taste like fresh honey of your favorite kind and have the texture of honeycomb, the more you eat the faster and better you do whatever job is ahead of you!

[] Caramel Critters: These chittering candies covered in nuts are shaped like chipmunks, squirrels, and sometimes even elephants, and even act like them. Enjoy these nutty delights and be sure to share with the fuzzy friends they might bring you!

[] Motor Oil Lozenges: The lozenges are clear, showing a substance that looks alarmingly like motor oil in all respects, but tastes of peppermint. Once fully dissolved, it causes the body to work at peak condition for 24 hours, with the side effect of periodic exhaust fumes coming from the ears (harmless but smells of motor oil).

[] Cotton Clouds: For those who love fluffy foods, this special cotton candy is as light as a cloud, and moves like it too. From whispy winds to thunderstorms, this scrumptious sweet will make you feel like you're flying and bring a breeze, though careful of the occasional shocking surprise!

[] Write-in (Write-in a custom choice):

After looking at Fred's latest candy, you had to decide what you wanted to do for the rest of the week.

There were simply so many options. You could research your own candies, upgrade the building again, go on a trip, advertise your store, maybe buy a lottery ticket? Who knows, you could get lucky...

What do you want to do? (Top 2)

[] Research more Candies.

[] Upgrade the Building once again.

[] Hire yet another Employee to help man the store. MAX LIMIT.

[] Go on a trip to find some exotic ingredients for your sweets.

You had assigned Candace Godiva to becoming your assistant, while you made Henry Truffle a candy maker, Heath York a candy researcher, and Karla Honey a saleswoman. All varied people, you hope they do well.

Wonka Bars, Laffy Taffy, Ice Mice, Toothie Fruities, Nerds, Never-ending Gum, Lightning Lemons have been restocked by Kelly Jones and Henry Truffle. (800/800. For more Storage, upgrade the building)

Kelly and Henry had restocked the shelves, giving the masses more candy to buy.

After that, you looked at Fred's newest candied creation.

He called it... Name Gummed Up in Committee, that... was a strange name, but you were fine with it. Apparently, it was a minty gum that stuck to dental plaque and pulled it away... it wasn't supposed to replace a toothbrush or floss, but the effectiveness per attempt was really secondary to the consistency of the candy after all, and... huh, this could make your father hate you less...

Name Gummed Up in Committee Research Roll: 86.

And hey, it turned out pretty well... which was good.

And now, you decided to get to researching your own candy! Fred's had in fact inspired you!

Knowledge & Imagination Roll: 6.

You managed to improve it pretty well... you definitely had a few new ideas.

You have gained a +6 to Research Rolls.

Sorry that this took a little while, wanted to work on both quests so I could update them around the same time, along with starting a new one, which I'll link to once I post it.

After gaining that insane load of money, Fred and Heath came to you with two new candy ideas they had. They looked so excited to tell you, too.

Lifeandlice's Candy Ideas and More.
Candy Ideas:
Sedimen-Dairy Rocks- Little rock like candies that taste like various flavors of ice cream or yogurt.
Im-pop-sters- A colorful selection of candies each tasty, but each one has a 50/50 chance of popping on your tongue. (Could also have poppers have a bad flavor but eh)
Cough Drops- A sour gel candy that makes you cough after eating it (use this to lead to a temporary sickness based line of candy)
Muscle De-rustler- a candy rope shaped like a lasso that helps get rid of muscle cramps

And if we ever add more adult items like the fire whiskey:
Hello Shots!- Jello shots that make it easier to talk to new people, well even more than alcohol normally would atleast
Pain Grain- a chewable candy stick that looks like a piece of grain to help relieve pain, probably taste like a nice buttered bun.
Sober Ogre- little ogre shaped gummies that severally reduce the effects of a hangover! Never let a wild night ruin your day again!

[X] Plan Please Let this be a Normal Field Trip
-[X] Candy
--[X] A Variation of the Wonka Bar.
---[X] Chilly Chocolate Creme Wonka Bars.
--[X] Drinkable Giant Cola bottles: A giant bottle of jelly cola, that's able to be drunk to completion!
-[X] Actions
--[X] Improve Knowledge and Imagination (Improve Willy Wonka's Bonus to Research Rolls)
--[X] Go on a trip to find some exotic ingredients for your sweets.
--[X] Maybe interact with one of your employees?

Fred and Heath had, after running upstairs to your office, shown you their brand new candies, seeming incredibly excited about them.

The first, was a variation on the Wonka Bar, made by Fred, he called it the Chilly Chocolate Creme Wonka Bar, it seemed to be a normal Wonka Bar, with a chilly cream on the inside.

Chilly Chocolate Creme Wonka Bar Research Roll: 100.

The Chilly Chocolate Creme Wonka Bar was incredibly well made, and you definitely liked the creamy filling in the Wonka Bar, it had honestly enhanced the experience of the chocolate.

The second one was the Drinkable Giant Cola Bottle, a giant bottle of jelly cola that's able to be drunk by anyone. It seemed incredibly interesting.

Drinkable Giant Cola Bottle Research Roll: 41.

The same couldn't really be said for the Drinkable Giant Cola Bottle... it was fine, you guess... but it just seemed underwhelming, it didn't taste exactly like a bottle of cola, but... that may have been due to the jelly inside, still... it wasn't bad.

Afterward, Kelly and Henry had restocked the shelves with all of the new candy.

Wonka Bars, Laffy Taffy, Ice Mice, Toothie Fruities, Nerds, Never-ending Gum, Lightning Lemons, Name Gummed Up In Committee's, Fudgemallow Delights, Chilly Chocolate Creme's, and Drinkable Giant Cola Bottle's have been restocked by Kelly Jones and Henry Truffle. (800/800. For more Storage, upgrade the building)

After that, you decided to try and improve your knowledge and imagination... what harm could there be, after all?

Knowledge & Imagination Roll: 3.

You'd read a few books talking about various different candies, and you had managed to learn a little bit about it...

You have gained +3 to Research Rolls. (Permanent +9 to Research Rolls.)

After that, you decided to have a conversation with one of your employees.

Who do you interact with?

[] Joe Bucket.
[] Fred Morter.
[] Ruby Williams.
[] Kelly Jones.
[] Candace Godiva.
[] Henry Truffle.
[] Heath York.
[] Karla Honey.

After going up to your employee, you smiled and started to chat with them.

What do you talk to them about?

[] How they've been enjoying their job?
[] Ask them about them as a person.
[] Ask them about their interests.
[] Write-in:

And finally, you decided to go on a journey to find more ingredients for candy, oh! You were so excited!

Where do you go?

[] Loompa Land, filled with thick jungles, desolate wastes, and the most horrid beasts in the world, Hornsnozzlers, Snozwangers, and... Whangdoodles.
[] The Lost City of Atlantis, rumors have told you that they had the best sea salt flavored candies in all the world. Seemingly, this was the cause for their disappearance, as they didn't want to give their rivals the recipes.
[] The Islands of Mu, legends say, that they were the greatest sugar exporters, and were known for their candies. Before suddenly vanishing off of the face of the earth, you were interested in finding, and tasting these legendary sweets.
[] The Bermuda Triangle is a mysterious place, where all whom enter vanish... rumors say that it's a gateway to a new world, full of untasted flavors. You were interested in looking into these rumors.
[] Write-in:

And so, you put your explorer outfit on, and went to your location of choice! Adventure awaits! Huzzah!

26- The Journey Begins, with... Finding a Mode of Transportation. Huh.
[X] Plan All Aboard The Magic School Bus
-[X] Joe Bucket.
-[X] Write-in: For one so old as he, he has must have had many a life experience. Politely inquire about it, for you're a good employer, and interested in those who you work with.
-[X] The Bermuda Triangle is a mysterious place, where all whom enter vanish... rumors say that it's a gateway to a new world, full of untasted flavors. You were interested in looking into these rumors.

You had gone up to Joe Bucket, as he was about to start his work for the day.

"Ah! Joe, hold up just a moment" You said, getting the elderly gentleman's attention.

"Yes, Mr. Wonka? Is something wrong?" Joe asked curiously.

"Oh, nothing like that. I was just wondering... you've had a lot of experience throughout your life, have you not? Was there anything interesting that happened? Maybe some stories from your youth?" You asked with a smile.

"Ah, I remember when I was a young lad... I used to be a rough boy, practically a bully... as you can see, I grew out of it. But there was one time in my teenage years, that I bit off a tad more than I could chew... I tried to pick on this big kid, Louis... and he didn't take too kindly to my constant teasing, and... well, he nearly knocked me out... I'll tell you, I took a good long look at my life from that point, and... decided that I didn't like the man I was, so... I changed my ways, and became the Joe you know now, Mr. Wonka" Joe said with a nostalgic smile.

"Oh, well... that's actually fascinating," You said, "Do you have any more stories?"

"Well, there was that one time I got into a car chase, and the time I got into a fistfight with ten police officers, I managed to take out seven of them before they got the cuffs on me... and then I took the remaining three on, managed to bloody one of the officers' eyes, but they got me just as good... I wasn't a very good young man, but it did give me a few good stories to tell" Joe said.

And so, you listened to Joe talk about his various stories for hours.

After that, you had gotten to selling all of your products, you hoped the Chilly Chocolate Creme's and Drinkable Giant Cola Bottles did well.

Wonka Bars Sales: 540.

Fudgemallow Delights Sales:
207.

Chilly Chocolate Cream Sales:
426.

Laffy Taffy Sales:
474.

Ice Mice Sales:
289.

Toothy Fruity Sales: 657.

Nerds Sales:
317.

Never-ending Gum Sales:
514.

Lightning Lemon Sales:
749.

Name Gummed Up In Committee Sales:
163.

Drinkable Giant Cola Bottle Sales:
637.

Well, the Fudgemallow Delights and Name Gummed Up In Committee's hadn't sold much, but... the Chilly Chocolate Creme's had decent sales, and the Drinkable Giant Cola Bottle's had seemed initially popular, so that was good! The Lightning Lemons, seemingly never sold badly... which was slightly odd to you.

You have gained 491 Wealth.

You have lost 24 Wealth from Joe Bucket's, Fred Morter's, Ruby Williams', Kelly Jones', Candace Godiva's, Heath York's, Henry Truffle's, and Karla Honey's Employment, and 1 Wealth from Advertisement. In Total: 25 Wealth.

You now have 1,686 Wealth.

You had managed to make a decent amount of money from it though, so that was good! Thank God for Joe, Ruby, and Karla!

And just before you left, Fred and Heath wanted to show off their latest research.

Which Candy do you want Fred Morter and Heath York to Research? (Choose two)

Ramble's Candy Actually Floss.
I wonder if we could change our marketing for the toothcleaning gum from kids to mothers and/or generally parents instead. Like, getting kids to brush their teeth twice a day is hard. Giving them a piece of gum is easy.
Of course, we would need to strenuously clarify that they still do need to brush, but keeping some gum around the house would go a long way to keep those pearly whites healthy and shiney.

Also

Candy Idea: Candy Actually Floss

A sweet, minty strand of semi-sticky sugary substance which adheres well to stuck food and plaque. Dissolves very slowly in the mouth. After flossing, you can hold it in your mouth to improve your breath if you like. 30% more likely to improve likability when in close proximity to other people! *

Warning: Choking hazard, only for children aged 10 and up.

edboy49's Gold Wool Balls.
Since we are heading to the Triangle, how about this candy idea.

Gold Wool Balls:
Public Knowledge- Candy that look like balls of yellow wools that feel and taste like cotton candy. Can have either vanilla, chocolate or strawberry in the middle.
Secret Knowledge- It's not cotton candy but actual wool that is taken from a mysterious fleece that is colored golden that Willy found in his trip to the Bermuda Triangle. The wool is edible and Willy adds vanilla, chocolate or strawberry to give it more flavor and hide it's true nature.
Willy shears the fleece once a week, which the next day, all of it's completely covered in wool again but Willy makes sure to only do it once a week to not abuse the poor fleece.

Noted observations- People who eat the balls seemed to get healthier and Willy noticed that any plants near the fleece seemed to grow not only faster but also look healthier.

(OCC- Yes it's the Golden Fleece from Percy Jackson only it's the living animal instead of a magical artifact.)
