Welcome to my Candy Store! (Willy Wonka Management Quest.)

05- Adventuring for Advertisers!
The first thing you had done, was assign Joe to sales, having him man the store while you got to work, making more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy.

Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy have been restocked. (100/100. For more Storage, upgrade the building)

And finally, you decided to start trying to find an advertiser for the store.

Advertising Roll: 76.

You'd found quite a few options for possible advertisers, but you could only go with one of them... you could go for the local newspaper, maybe get comic-based ads, have the local radio show talk about it... or you could go with the cheap option of just... posting a few flyers.

Who do you choose as your advertiser?
[] Place some flyers around Candy Street. (Cost: 0 Wealth per turn, +1 to Sales)
[] Get an advertisement in the local newspaper. (Cost: 1 Wealth per turn, +5 to Sales)
[] Get a small comic-based advertisement from a local comic publisher. (Cost: 3 Wealth per turn, +10 to Sales)
[] Contact the local radio show, and talk to them about speaking about your store. (Cost: 5 Wealth per turn, +15 to Sales)
____

Alright, now I'm going to go to bed.

06- Scrumdiddlyumptious Sweets!
[X] Get an advertisement in the local newspaper. (1 Wealth per turn, +5 to Sales)

You'd decided to get an advertisement in the local paper. It cost a bit, but you were able to get the local news business, Cherry Street News to put a couple of small ads in their newspaper.

"Wonka's Candies, a seller of scrumdiddlyumptious sweets!" -Cherry Street Newspaper.

You quite liked the ad, it was simple but... sweet, heh. And it was hopefully going to get some more traction with your store.

A Deal has been struck! In exchange for 1 Wealth per turn, you gain +5 to Sales.

Newspaper Ads: +5 to Sales (Costs 1 Wealth per turn)

After that, you and Joe had gotten to selling more of the Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy to the public.

Wonka Bar Sales: 79 + 20 = 99.

Laffy Taffy Sales:
62 + 20 = 82.

You'd gotten quite a large amount of sales from the candies. You were incredibly happy with everything, and Joe had done a great job working as the main salesman... especially with the advertisement giving your small store some more attention.

You have gained 17 Wealth.

You lose 3 Wealth from Joe Bucket's Employment, and 1 Wealth from Advertisements. In Total: 4 Wealth.

You now have 37 Wealth.

With that done, now it was time to get to your work for the week. You were truly excited to get to do your job. It still puts a smile on your face, knowing that you have done all this amazing work in so little time!

What do you want to do? (Top 2)

[] Research more Candies.

[] Work on making more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy for people to eat.

[] Upgrade the Building.

[] Hire another Employee to help man the store.

[] Go on a trip to find some exotic ingredients for your sweets.

[] See if you can strike some deals with grocery stores to stock your candies on their shelves. (Would not recommend for now, you might want to wait until you reach at least a Candy Production of 1000.)

[] Advertise your Store some more.

07- You gotta get an Upgrade!
[X] Plan: Expanding While Doing Business
-[X] Work on making more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy for people to eat.
-[X] Upgrade the Building.

First off, you had gotten to work on making more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy for the store. You needed to make sure you had enough to sell, after all.

You would be truly saddened to have people come into your store, and not be able to buy anything! Oh, the humanity!

Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy have been restocked. (100/100. For more Storage, upgrade the building)

After that, you had gotten to doing something that you'd really wanted to do for a while now, upgrading the building.

You had so many ideas! You could make some extra room for more storage, maybe add some more ingredients for your research! You could put a new coat of paint to the front of your store to attract more customers, or even upgrade your tools for candy creation!

There was just so much to do, and you only had the time for one of them.

How do you want to upgrade the building?
[] Upgrade Storage (100 > 200)
[] Upgrade your Research Station (+10 to Candy Research)
[] Upgrade the front of the store. (+10 to Sales)
[] Upgrade your candy-making tools (+10 to Candy Creation)
[] Write-in (Write-in a custom choice):

08- Candy Storage
[X] Upgrade Storage (100 > 200)

You'd decided to make some extra room for more storage for your products, which will hopefully come in handy... thankfully you were able to do it all practically for free, but... looking at it now? The next time you want to do this, it'll cost you a pretty penny, that's for sure.

Storage has been upgraded. 100 > 200. Next upgrade is: 200 > 400. Costs: 5 Wealth.

After that, you and Joe had gotten to selling more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy.

"Alright, that'll be $3, thank you," Joe said with a kindly grin, as a small child handed him a dollar and happily left with a Wonka Bar and two Laffy Taffies in hand.

Seeing the kids run around the store looking at your... admittedly limited amount of candy, had truly put a smile on your face.

Wonka Bar Sales: 59 + 20 = 79.

Laffy Taffy Sales:
65 + 20 = 85.

You'd gotten decent sales for both products, so that was good... you and Joe had done a phenomenal job selling the sweets.

You have gained 15 Wealth.

You lose 3 Wealth from Joe Bucket's Employment, and 1 Wealth from Advertisements. In Total: 4 Wealth.

You now have 48 Wealth.

"Well, that was pretty good, we definitely made some people happy today!" You said to Joe, as you finished up closing the store for the day.

"Of course, Mr. Wonka, it truly puts a smile on my face to see the kids' eyes light up in delight!" Joe said with a gentle smile, "Now... I'm off to see my family. I'll see you tomorrow, sir"

Joe then left, after putting his coat and hat on.

And now... you had to figure out what to do for the next week, it was just so fun to get to do everything!

What do you want to do? (Top 2)

[] Research more Candies.

[] Work on making more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy for people to eat.

[] Upgrade the Building again.

[] Hire another Employee to help man the store.

[] See if you can strike some deals with grocery stores to stock your candies on their shelves. (Would not recommend for now, you might want to wait until you reach at least a Candy Production of 1000.)

[] Advertise your Store some more.

[] Buy a Lottery Ticket (Cost - 1 Wealth for each ticket; Condition- no bonus dice, DC of 100, if successful, it gives 100 Wealth)

[] Try your hand at making an online service for the store.

Alright, so... Upgrades. The first one for each upgrade is free, but after that? It costs 5 Wealth for the second tier, and it keeps doubling the amount needed, along with doubling the effectiveness of the Upgrade.

09- New Hires, and Higher News.
[X] Plan: Looking For someone who wants to make candy
-[X] Work on making more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy for people to eat.
-[X] Hire another Employee to help man the store.

The first thing you had done, was work on making more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy. You should really start working on making more candy types...

Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy have been restocked. (200/200. For more Storage, upgrade the building)

After that, you finally decided to hire a new employee for the store. Joe was doing a phenomenal job, but you needed some more hands on deck with the growing popularity of your store.

After putting an ad in the paper, you had gotten three people interested in becoming a Wonka's Candies employee, so that was nice... you'd only be able to hire one for now, though. You didn't want to waste your resources on all of them, after all.

96: First up was Fred Morter, he had a real... mad scientist look to him, with a white lab coat, goggles, and spiky black hair, along with an incredibly excitable energy to him, he told you that he'd always wanted to work in a candy store, and after seeing your Wonka Bars was extremely excited to help you make more candies. He'd come up with some fascinating ideas for candies too.

47: Bob Jones was next, he seemed like a fairly normal man, but there wasn't anything that really... popped out about him. He seemed like he was used to monotonous work, though.

97: Ruby Williams was the last one, she seemed incredibly passionate about candy, and just like a really... personable person. You could see her working in sales, alongside Joe.

Now, you had to choose who you'd hire. Truly, it was a shame that you'd have to only pick one, they all seemed to have quite the potential for candy making.

[] Choose one of the choices to become an employee.
-[] Hire Fred Morter.
-[] Hire Bob Jones.
-[] Hire Ruby Williams.
[] Don't pick any of them.

10- There's old friends, and new friends, and even a bear!
[X] Choose one of the choices to become an employee.
-[X] Hire Fred Morter.

You decided to hire Fred Morter, but not before telling the other two prospective employees that you'd still love to have them here, at a further point in time.

And you feel like they took it well. Well, at least they didn't scream at you or look disappointed, so that was good.

Fred Morter (Roll: 96):

A young mad scientist with an incredible interest in all things candy, he seems honestly passionate and intelligent when it comes to his work.

PERKS:

Passion: +5 to all Rolls.

Science!: +10 when assigned to Candy Research.

"Thank you, sir, I'm really happy to be on board!" Fred said with an excited grin.

"It's going to be a pleasure to work with you, I'm sure," You said, as you shook his hand, before the two of you walked into the store where Joe was already at the register.

"Ah! Mr. Wonka, I see we have a new employee?" Joe asked.

"Yes, this is Fred Morter, he'll be working in..." You started.

Where do you assign Fred Morter? (This happens after this turn)

[] Assign him to Sales.

[] Assign him to Candy Research.

[] Assign him to Candy Making.

[] Write-in (Write-in a custom choice):

After telling Joe where Fred was assigned, you all had gotten to work, selling more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy.

Wonka Bar Sales: 126.

Laffy Taffy Sales:
84.

Due to there being more candy to be sold, the Wonka Bars had some decent sales, selling more than you had in storage just last week.

But... while the Laffy Taffy had sold quite a bit, it was definitely showing itself to be the less popular of the two products.

You have gained 20 Wealth.

You have lost 6 Wealth from Joe Bucket's and Fred Morter's Employment, and 1 Wealth From Advertisements. In Total: 7 Wealth.

You now have 61 Wealth.

After that, Joe and Fred had gotten off of work and left for their homes, and now you had to decide what you were going to do...

What do you want to do? (Top 2)

[] Research more Candies.

[] Work on making more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy for people to eat.

[] Upgrade the Building again.

[] Hire yet another Employee to help man the store.

[] Go on a trip to find some exotic ingredients for your sweets.

[] See if you can strike some deals with grocery stores to stock your candies on their shelves. (Would not recommend, for now, you might want to wait until you reach at least a Candy Production of 1000.)

11- Upgrades & Research, oh my!
[X] Plan: Wonka Wonderous Building Upgrades
-[x] Assign him to Candy Research
-[x] Work on making more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy for people to eat.
-[x] Upgrade the Building again.

You had assigned Fred to candy research, as it seemed like that was his area of expertise.

He seemed really happy to get to work on creating more candy for Wonka's Candies. He'd literally hugged you when you told him that he was going to get to work in your lab.

It put a massive smile on your face to see someone else who was as passionate about candy creation as you were.

He'd instantly got to researching a new candy.

Fred Morter has gained a new PERK! Candy Researcher: Can research one Candy per turn.

What Candy do you want Fred Morter to Research? (Choose one)

[] Bottle Caps: A small bottle cap candy, nothing truly special about it.

[] Nerds: Small purple candies that make you more intelligent the more you eat them!

[] Every Flavor Jelly Beans: These Jelly Beans have every flavor imaginable! Chocolate, Grass, Water, Fire, Snot, and many more! So many more!

[] Chocolate Birds: A flying chocolate bird, make sure to eat it before it melts!

[] Chocolate Frogs: Frogs made of chocolate, they even act like real frogs, with the way they hop around!

[] Rainbow Flavored Candy Canes: Candy canes that taste like a rainbow!

[] Whispering Chocolates: Chocolates that whisper to you, saying generally positive things about the person eating them.

[] Never-ending Gum: Gum, that never ends!

[] Ever-growing Candy Floss: Candy Floss that simply never stops growing.

[] Bomb-Bombs. Bon Bons that (lightly) explode in your mouth! (Causes no harm to the eater, and that's a Wonka Guarantee!)

[] Flamin' Mints: Mints, that after being eaten makes you shoot a small burst of fire from your mouth

[] Jawmaker: The more you chew, the stronger your jaw gets. It's simply amazing!

[] Blood Pops: A lollipop that tastes like blood.

[] Acid Pops: An incredibly sour lollipop, you'd advertise that they could burn a hole through your tongue... they couldn't of course. You weren't legally allowed to do that. Which was such a shame.

[] Ice Mice: A packet of small, mouse-shaped mints. They could make the consumer's teeth chatter and squeak!

[] Butterbeer: A "beer" made out of butterscotch, sugar, and water, it had a very slight alcoholic content, but was deemed safe enough for children to have one.

[] Firewhisky: Alright, now... this one? This one was for adults only. It was a whiskey that fills a person with a burning sensation, before they burp up a small gout of flame. It was absolutely fascinating.

[] Jelly grown-ups: Jelly babies that age and taste sweeter the longer you wait, like a fine wine.

[] Cookie Glow: Cookie Dough that warms itself up, hardening until it's like an actual cookie.

[] Turkish Fright
: A Turkish Delight that screams when you chew on it.

[] Drinkable Giant Cola bottles: A giant bottle of jelly cola, that's able to be drunk to completion!

[] Toothie Fruities:
A fruit that tastes like sweets, and is just as healthy as before.

[] Starmix:
Sweets that glow like actual Stars. Make for great nightlights.

[] Jelly worms:
Jellies that wriggle around.

[] Sweet N Sour: Hard Candy with a sweet side like Cherry and a Sour side like Lemon. Various odd combinations.

[] Temperamental Treats: A candy that changes its flavor depending on your mood! If you're angry? It's spicy. Sad? It's cold. Happy? It's one of the sweetest candies you've ever had! There are so many more flavors, depending on your mood! Try it now!

[] Write-in (Write-in a custom choice):

After that, you had gotten to making some more Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy for the sugar craving masses. You just loved how much they wanted your candy, it honestly made you happy.

Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy have been restocked. (200/200. For more Storage, upgrade the building)

And then... you had gotten to upgrading the building once again. The upgraded storage was already incredibly good, so perhaps it was time to upgrade something else?

Upgrading the storage again would cost a pretty penny, while everything else could be done at virtually no cost... you could upgrade the research station, or maybe work on making the store itself more appealing? Or perhaps get some new tools for candy making? There were so many possibilities, just the thought of it made you giddy!

How do you want to upgrade the building?

[] Upgrade Storage (200 > 400. Costs: 5 Wealth.)
[] Upgrade your Research Station (+10 to Candy Research)
[] Upgrade the front of the store. (+10 to Sales)
[] Upgrade your candy-making tools (+10 to Candy Creation)

It's great to be back, now... please use a Plan Format for the vote. It just makes it easier on me.

12- Sell! Sell! Sell!
[X] Plan new selection
[X] Ice Mice: A packet of small, mouse-shaped mints. They could make the consumer's teeth chatter and squeak!
[X] Upgrade Storage (200 > 400. Costs: 5 Wealth.)

You decided to add on even more room for storage to the building, sure... it cost a little bit, but you were sure you could recoup the loss easily enough with the sales you've had.

Storage has been upgraded. 200 > 400. Next upgrade is: 400 > 800. Costs: 10 Wealth.

And then, you'd gotten the results for the Ice Mice that your newest employee, Fred was working on...

Ice Mice Research Roll: 93.

And it was pretty damn good. The mouse-shaped mints were exceptionally... minty! Taste-testing made your teeth start to chatter and squeak about, oh! It was a simply fascinating experience.

"Oh, F-Fred. I-I do believe that you've created s-something simply... m-m-marvelous! Great j-job!" You said with a chattering grin, as you pat your employee on the back.

"Th-thank you s-sir!" Fred said, his teeth chattering and squeaking like that of a mouse.

"W-well, you're welcome Fred! N-now! J-Joe! Let's get to work!" You said, your grin growing wider.

"Of course Mr. Wonka," Joe said with a kindly smile, as he went over to the front desk, and you opened the doors of the store, it was time for Wonka's Candies to open, and for Wonka Bars and Laffy Taffy to be sold!

Wonka Bar Sales: 189.

Laffy Taffy Sales:
149.

The candy sales had managed to extraordinarily exceed all possible expectations that you had!

And now... it was time to count up the coins, and see how much money you had made from the day of backbreaking work!

You have gained 32 Wealth.

You lose 5 Wealth from Upgrades, 3 Wealth from Joe Bucket's Employment, 3 Wealth from Fred Morter's Employment, and 1 Wealth from Advertisements. In Total: 12 Wealth.

You now have 81 Wealth.

You'd managed to make a neat profit from the candies due to a mixture of Joe's kindly appearance, and him helping people around the store, and you were just sure that the Ice Mice will be an absolutely smashing hit when they hit the shelves!

"Jolly good work everyone! Now, let's all go home for the day!" You said with a grin, as you, Joe, and Fred had gone to your respective homes.

You had a fairly humble small house, right across the street from your store, where you'd had various ideas for your candies in notepads, along with sketches of what they just might look like.

And then, you went to bed.

You woke up the next morning in a start, you had so much work to do! Oh, you loved your job!

Quickly getting ready for the day, you had briskly walked across the street to your store, where you saw that there was a lot more work to be done! And you had to be the one to do it.

What do you want to do? (Top 2)

[] Research some more Candies.

[] Work on making Wonka Bars, Laffy Taffy, and Ice Mice for the people to eat.

[] Upgrade the Building again.

[] Hire another Employee to help man the store.

[] Go on a trip to find some exotic ingredients for your sweets.

[] See if you can strike some deals with grocery stores to stock your candies on their shelves. (Would not recommend for now, you might want to wait until you reach at least a Candy Production of 1000.)

13- New Prospective Employees?
[X] Plan The Candies must flow
-[X] Work on making Wonka Bars, Laffy Taffy, and Ice Mice for the people to eat.
-[X] Hire another Employee to help man the store.

Well, to start things off, you had filled up the storage with Wonka Bars, Laffy Taffy, and Ice Mice, it was nice to have a new candy to finally be able to sell after all this time.

Wonka Bars, Laffy Taffy, and Ice Mice have been restocked. (400/400. For more Storage, upgrade the building)

Afterward, you decided to hire one or two new employees for Wonka's Candies. It's obviously time to expand the business.

You had gotten four people to come in, wanting to work for Wonka's Candies, which was honestly? More than you expected.

43: The first up was a fairly average young man named Michael Johnson. He seemed like a decent enough person. He'd probably be the most useful making the candy itself.

11: Secondly, was a large, balding, sweaty, fat man with rotting teeth, he said his name was Doug Smith. He seemed to be the... lazy sort, and you'd heard rumors of him selling company secrets to the highest bidders.

91: Thirdly, Ruby Williams had returned, she still seemed passionate about candy. And really seemed to want a job here. And you were inclined to allow her to join.

26: And finally, was a reedy, young woman named Gertrude Reeds, she seemed like a real... rude, nagging woman, and didn't seem to have much skill when it came to candy making, sales, or anything really good for your business.

After looking through the resumes of your prospective employees, now, it was time to decide who to hire to work at Wonka's Candies. You had quite a few options to choose from.

And hey, this time you were confident in being able to fill the store with two new employees... you'd have to either get a new store, or make some renovations to your current one to get more employees, though.

Who do you hire to work at Wonka's Candies?
[] Hire one.
-[] Michael Johnson.
-[] Doug Smith.
-[] Ruby Williams.
-[] Gertrude Reeds.
[] Hire two.
-[] Michael Johnson.
-[] Doug Smith.
-[] Ruby Williams.
-[] Gertrude Reeds.
[] Don't pick any of them.

Can I just say... remember, you can make posts of your candy/employee ideas and I'll put them in the Apocrypha.

edboy49's Green Rock Candy.
Candy Idea:
(Inspiration- C&C: Tiberium, Avatar: TLA's Jennamite)

Green Rock Candy (GRC):
Public knowledge- A candy that looks like a rock that can glow in the dark. Can be the size from a ring finger to a whole fist. A bit hard but still edible, and can last a long time.
Secret knowledge- This candy is not cooked but rather it grows. Willy found a special green crystal while on a solo boat ride in the Tiber River in Italy. Found that the crystal grows when fed certain elements directly at it and discovers that the crystal can be eaten.
He took the crystal with him and keeps it's existence a secret cause with it, he has an unlimited supply of a one-of-a-kind candy.

(OOC- Basically speaking, the original Tiberium crystal that crash landed malfunction and instead of it's usual eat/convert/spread function with anything it touches, it's stuck in a function of only expanding with certain elements, no biological contamination and feeding biological units only.
Idea mostly came at trying to picture Kane's face at discovering that his precious crystal is now a candy.)
