I mean the one thing he vaguely has going for him from my perspective is the fig leaf of "Maf wouldn't do that, it would be too absurdly obvious". Also Bahn is lower priority either way since Bahn's just a standard killer, lynching Alpha deprives Maf of a roleblocker (even if his story is true he's a useful puppet, so he's likely to get reused, and of minimal value to Town), while lynching Bahn deprives them of whichever power role they have that's the least useful each night.
