Psysker interference makes one wonder where the psykers come from, though.
It is chaos cults, they tend to be full of psyskers who somehow are magically in the right position todo the most damage. As if by divine provenance.

If anything, Shexia would need to work to safeguard the space marines as otherwise they might be given the idea that Shexia is working against them because they fail to be wiped out and are left playing the blame game

This could work, I don't think we have any assets in House Mark territory iirc, plus it gives the MM an excuse to be bastards while also minimising civilian casualties.

Maybe we try using the MM's logic against them and tell them to save ammo and don't bother shooting since it's just rabble?

I was also about to offer maybe planting a cultist into one of the MM's slave-grabs so we can start infecting them, but that's more of a long term thing.
 
to be clear, it takes a purestrain genestealer to actually infect people - like, they have to get the long tongue action.

the non-purestrain cultists just prime people for infection by spreading revolutionary ideology, good vibes, and wanting to fuck energy.
 
Wish we knew more about House Marks. I'd like to come up with a good plan to buff them right now, despite them being chaos, cause the more harm they do the MM the better everyone's prospects are. And going a blatantly terrible plan on the MM is just going to backfire.

Well, even if we can't know what chaos cult they are, what was House Mark publicly known for?
 
The interrogator made him ANGERY. Angry enough to act out against her orders? Would he be stupid enough to spread his forces to attack ALL The noble houses? since one's corrupted, best to check them all. He might be scoping the map for hidden objectives and easter eggs, like a good RTS player on the first campaign playthrough. A marine or two to do violent searches of each noble's home, damaging property and personel at each in search of chaos taint? Abiding by the letter of the law, while fucking up everything and turning the other houses against them?

I don't think we can cause him to do that with a vote?

It has to be things the Sisterhood or Shexai can do.
 
Hmmm I have an idea.

Assuming that there are multiple cult sites we tell them to hit all of them at once playing to their ego and then we use a sniper or two to put the cult on alert and we use our psykers to interfere with the Marines.
 
Depending on how many Purestrains we have, we could maybe send a small number to ambush the MM assuming they've split up from eachother? But that also puts our Purestrains at risk and getting more would take time...

Plus it's also a big security risk if we screw up
 
Yeah let's save the Purestrains as a last resort.

Revealing them messes up Shexia's work faking our end.

...Damn. If this was agriculture on a normal world we could have weaponized a combine harvester, and I bet a 40k combine harvester is insane.

As it is still some stuff to work with. Fertilizer makes great improvised explosives.

So probably Nurgle. Which is "good" because Nurgle doesn't do subtle well as the virulent "biological" nature of various "gifts" tends to cause obvious super-spreaders. Noble parties are sadly good ways to hide this sort of thing

But this doesn't rule out them going mask-off and making a sizable percentage of the population wish they would die a hell of a lot faster than they are.

Joking aside I refuse to personally plant car bomb as the risk to us is too high in failure. Funnily enough I am open to suggesting suicide bomber and terroristic for House Marks as MM wanted to take slave (Might) and riches (Treasure). So they need to capture Marks people alive.

What is MM strength and their preferred tactic against cultist in canon? My preferred winning move is to Marks defeat-in-detailing MM and blunting MM offensive Might. This means we need three things
1. To spread MM thin to enable defeat in detail.
2. Marks concentrated for MM their power for local power superiority and have awesome tactic!
3. For us (The Sisterhood) to destroy MM stat for Offense that is Might + Treasury.
As we won't be able to contest MM Might stealing it is! @DragonCobolt What action do we need to steal MM treasury?

So, currently as standing, the MM have a dice pool of 5d+MD, and can sustain 3 days of fighting before needing to rest and refit. House Mark has a dice pool...of 3d and can sustain 2 day of fighting before they can't roll any dice. So, unless you do something, the MM are going to succeed twice, take out their 1 might and 1 treasure (they have 2 territory, but the Marines are 100% focusing on looting), and then get +2 to two of their stats because House Mark's main advantages are its influence and sovereignty (you can tell it's either a Tzneetch or Slaanesh cult, huh?)
My immediate thought here is "can we let the Marines hit them twice to deplete their dice pools completely, then attack ourselves in order to harvest the loot from the big finish uncontested?" Kill stealing, credit stealing, and loot stealing are all proud Imperial traditions!

Not that the Marines would be fans of this, but that's how things go sometimes.

Yes, actually, you can 100% do this, lol. Of course, if the attack is just an attack, it will be very obvious - and unconventional warfare cannot destroy a company unless you drop their sovereignty to 0.

Either an unconventional warfare to steal something heist style, or classical attack to steal it raid style.

The best bang for your buck is to get PDF Turncoats via raising your Might, then get Kelermorphs by raising your Influence, cause that gives you a flat +2d to escape from doing an unconventional warfare, then +2d while doing it and FINALLY LETS ME WRITE COWBOY GUNSLINGER THREE ARMED GIRL KELERMORPH LIKE I'VE BEEN SAYING ALL QUEST, TELEPATHICALLY
 
I keep coming up with ideas and then immediately figuring out why they wouldn't work. Use the misters in the hydroponics to spew out acid. But any acid capable of working on Astartes armor would inevitably destroy the system before it could be distributed. Secret botanicals cultivated for toxins for assassinations? Good luck getting that through the filtration system and even if it could they'd just go to Vacsealed.

It really is down to improvised explosives, and maybe like promethium in the hydroponics misters. ...Could definitely turn a hydroponics bay into a pretty nasty fuel air bomb. ...But that's a lot of collateral damage.

....actually if they are a chaos cult and the agriculture people. I'm not saying they have a straight up Poison Ivy character, but if anyone on this planet was going to somehow have maneating plants that could threaten astartes... Hmmmm, but turning that into a plan that we the GSC could do is the problem, since this is pretty baseless supposition.
 
Hm, I'm thinking... we go with @10ebbor10's plan, but we also add in some extra measures.

Car-Bombs to split them up, some kind of Purestrain strike-force to pick off and ambush isolated MM's (once again assuming we have the number of volunteers to spare) while they chew through the chaos cultists?
 
Bombs are bad. Lots of collateral damage.

Let's encourage the MM to go gently and prep to kill steal house mark's territory with unconventional warfare

-[X] shexia sets off the storm alarms like ebbor said. This will keep the general public out of the way of the fighting. Shexia encourages the MM to use hand-to-hand combat and tries to veto any heavy weaponry
 
If we weren't on a questionably built aerostat I'd say Truck Bombs 4 Life.

-[x] MM - Have Shexia instruct to hit multiple targets at once to keep the cultists from going to group.
-[x] House Mark - Put them on alert via a few sniper shots near them
-[x] Us - have our psykers make MMs freeze up at critical moments.
