Warcraft: The Rise of the Mag'har

Ahhh, it didn't work right in firefox but does in IE. Now that I can magnify it, it's an excellent map :)

I'd say redeeming Illidan would be massively COOL ... but also nearly impossible?
I don't know. Dranosh has managed nearly impossible things so far. And by the beginning of his campaign in WCIII Illidan seemed to just want to stay there and be free of Kil'Jaeden.

If we meet him early enough we might actually have a chance to interact and help him change his ways.

Great. I'm thinking of asking torroar if it can be made into the official map. As in putting a Link to it in the Front page.

Quick question, what would you say of trying to redeem Illidan.
Impossible. Because by the point Illidan reaches Outland, he is a demon. No ifs, ands, or buts. He is a 100% demonic being, something which the Mag'har have a kill on sight order on.

Never mind the fact that even if we DID accept his story about trying to escape his demon masters, he all too easily returns to the fold, and even after his failure to do his job again, he proves little better than Magtheridon.

I'm not saying it will be easy, and perhaps it will be impossible, but I would still like to give it a try.

I always wanted for Illidan to become one of the good guys in Warcraft. And I think that we have a chance here.

Except he's not a good guy. Even at his very best, he's arrogant and self-serving. If his own Brother couldn't unfuck him, a bunch of strangers aren't going to have any more luck.

Dranosh hasnt done anything impossible. He hasn't done anything that the heroes of azeroth werent able to do yet themselves and those are some motherfuckers who have been around the block.

Huh if Illidan comes to Outland later on that means dealing with the Blood Elves and the Naga. Maybe they can be recruited as well.

edit: Maybe except the naga, they maybe too hostile.

At his best I saw Illidan abandoning his plans to obey Kil'Jaeden and obtain great power in order to save Tyrande, the woman he loved. Afterwards, realizing that even so she would always choose Malfurion, he made peace with it, and with his brother before leaving for good.

I think Illidan has a good chance of redemption.

Unfortunately. Illidan is also firmly under Kil'jaden's thumb. And well... We really don't like the Legion. Not to mention Kael'thas.

And after Illidan fails to stop Arthas at Northrend and almost gets killed. Illidan kind of snaps.

So yea. Pretty impossible odds barring crazy dice luck.

To hell with Illidan. He may have been potentially redeemable but by the time he got to Outland he's more demon then Elf.

And the Mag'har do not truck with demons, those that worship them or use their powers. They kill them and burn the remains to ashes.

That reminds me, we'll need to take control of the portals at some point otherwise we'll be getting unwelcome visitors without supervision.

Well, to be fair. If Illidan actually cut himself off from using demon powers ever again and started practicing shamnism, druidism, or something. We Might be willing to hear him out. Maybe.

It's similar to the Azeroth Horde anyway.

We should be able to close the one we know of once our Shamans are up and running again, and Jorin and his Arcane Warriors should be able to help once we develop that further.

I think what Illidan fears is the wrath of Kiljaeden, perhaps if we show that he can be defeated he might prove cooperative.

That's the thing though. We can't prove we can defeat Kil'jaden unless we're willing to summon him into Outlands and kicking his butt.

But that'd be practically suicide since Kil'jaden is no weakling. Even the Murderhobos of Azeroth could only banish him back into the Twisting Nether rather than kill him. And the Elves had to sacrifice their Immortality just kill Archimonde.

Hell, even heroes like Jaina *Miss I can submerge Orgrimmar under a tidal wave of my own making* and Thrall, arguably the strongest shaman alive could only slow Archimonde down. And Kil'jaden is arguably stronger than he is. He's definitely smarter.
