Now for thinking of how else we could get money (because we will run out, sooner or later)...
Are Nerubians good at fishing?
Well, for now it seems that building up our new settlements even more has the potential to yield a lot of cash. We got 10 00 already. If we invest a lot into them, enough to build them up into big towns and even small cities, we might be able to get internal trading started.

After that, we could send people out to explore more about the surface world and perhaps even get some trades with the other species.

Then, with all of that done, it might be possible to finally put together a fucking tax system. Like, these spiders have had over 500 generations of leaders and not one ever put together a fucking tax system? My fucking god.

Silk trade.

Seriously we corner the market on uses for that stuff.

Start trading with the explorer's league and we will have the coffers flowing on that front.

Mini-turn 2
[X] Blunt.

A brief second of thought is all it takes for the path you'll take.

Honesty is the best policy here.

A Blunt Proposal Needed: 50/100. Score: 62/100

"Anu-Surket..." you begin.

She stares at you, expressing a silent 'Well?'.

"Would you like to be one of my Queens?" You ask bluntly without tack, deciding it was the best approach for one who utterly lacks it.

Reaction: Needed: Needed: 50/100. Score: 94/100

A long minute passes as she looks between you and Azhar-Menthas, clearly irradiated at her presence. She glances at the door before sighing disdainfully. "Sure, I'll be one of your little broodslugs."

That was easy.

If you had eyelids you'd blink.

Your Queen lets out a long breath, tension leaving her body. Your royal guards relax a bit. And you overhear Anub-Rekhan mummer, "...Thank Azjol-Nerub."

Revelation: Needed: 50/100. Score: 56/100

"Well," You begin again, "can I ask why you want to be one of my Queens? I am a bit curious. You don't seem the type to... want this. At all."

"I..." Anu-Surket huffs and sheathes her sword behind her back before crossing her arms. Her fingers drumming against them as she glares at the floor, doing her best impression of a frown. "Blew my home up. Lost. Everything."

You nod as Azhar-Menthas holds back a laugh. Anub-Rekhan shakes his head, unsurprised apparently.

"I won't waste time trying to get it all back. Too annoying. Won't do anything either." She snaps, gripping her arms tightly and glares at your Queen, who glares back. "No one wants to help me. So, I'm forced to ask you, my... King. I've heard of you and I think I can... tolerate you."

"I see," you say, surprised. "I assume you want access to my resources then."

"Yes." she replies eagerly and pauses, leaning back. "And I want to slay Maexxna. Alone."

Wait, What? Needed: 50/100. Score: 15/100

"You won't win." Anub-Rekhan interrupts out in a bored tone. "That one is too large. Too strong kill alone."

"Oh. You." She lets out a mirthless laugh. "The boorish barbarian who could only think of pleasing himself. I'm sure you want to take a swing at her too. Maybe... I'll leave something small enough to handle after I carve her up. Hmm, wouldn't you like that?"

Anub-Rekhan flutters his upper set of wings angrily. "Don't think you aren't the same, little one."

"And? I could care less about what others say to me. Words are nothing!" She hisses. "But at least I can have fun up there instead of wasting away here and doing nothing but breed my boredom away."

He growls, stepping towards Anu-Surket, her hand inching closer to her blade.

"Size isn't everything, unlike what Nerubians want to believe." Her free hand brushes against her scaled green robe. "I've killed greater than some gigantic feral spider. Or are you so thick that you forgotten it, you-"

Interrupt! Needed: 50/100. Score: 76/100

"Enough!" You roar, silencing the two.

Anu-Surket shrugs and turns to you. "Well? What will it be. Me or him?"

Anub-Rekhan irritably turns to you too. "My King, let me and a number of my best warriors go into Maexxna's lair and subdue the creature for Azjol-Nerub. Unlike like this buffoon, I know you are interested in capture for Azjol-Nerub."

Azhar-Menthas steps up. "I've read the reports on her. She's wild but some-what intelligent, enough to speak apparently. We both could try to convince her to join us instead."

You...

[] Let Anu-Surket hunt Maexxna. (Chance 65% Rewards: Loot. Greatly improved spousal approval.)
[] Have Anub-Rekhan raid Maexxna's lair and capture her for Azjol-Nerub!. (Chance 65% Rewards: An angry, captured Maexxna. Anub-Rekhan releases his frustrations)
[] You and Azhar-Menthas head to Maexxna's lair to convince the beast to join your side with an army behind your back. Just in case. (Chance 65% Rewards: Maexxna, spousal approval.)
[] Leave Maexxna alone for now. (Chance 100% Rewards: Everyone lives)

IT'S HAPPENING!!!

So 65%.
With 1/2 Diplomacy, we get to add +10 to the roll.
Which means it's got a 75% chance of succeeding.

Not risking ourselves because come up, we're too fucking squishy. Not letting Anu kill her, because we'll need Maexxna and her brood against the Scourge. This allows our Super Military guy to release some frustrations and get us the giant spider. Once she's locked up, we can convert her in a contained and safe environment with less risks for everyone.

That math is even better for Anub, who has 29 Martial.

Mm, but then she wouldn't be loyal.
THIS way, we have someone we don't have to spend actions on who can march with us and utterly destroy any oncoming Scourge group.

By doing this, while more dangerous, will make Anu-Surket think more of us and won't be as upset of not hunting Maexxna. Also Maexxna is more likely to be loyal to us. If any can convince me otherwise to change my vote please tell me.

You have to consider what could happen if we fail.

If Anub fails, no biggie, he'll survive and come up with better plans in the future, because 29 Martial.

If we and Azhar fail, chances are we will die because we are fucking squishy. And then this big failure of a external diplomacy will make the Nerubians look down even more on talking with other races and become even more xenophobic, because our methods have just be shown to be dangerous and to not work.

Anub is the safe and practical choice, one whose failure would not hurt us in any way.

If we diplomance Maexxna we're probably giving her *something* in return. Puts ourselves at risk as well.

If we capture her, we're taking more actions to stop her from breaking out and or breaking her period.

If we Let Spiderwife Kil her...well we get a massive boost to approval but we also lost the whole brood. Might get awesome treasures though.

We'll have an army come along with us.
And frankly I would not want to risk the giant spider breaking free afterwards.

If we capture her, shouldn't we also get access to the shinies she has in her lair?

We'll be within chomping distance of her, she has a very good chance of killing us before our soldiers can react.

She would be in the middle of our stronghold, with our millions of soldiers, thousands of mages and magically reinforced prison specifically designed to hold her. I'm not worried about her breaking free under those circumstances.

Point and we don't necessarily need her so much as her offspring which we can remove for our own use.
