Honestly I'm not sure if the Night Elves even qualify as a world ranking super power on par with the Alliance, Horde and Nerubian Empire. As both immortals and tree hugging hippies they shouldn't actually have the population to qualify as such. Not to mention a good portion of their power comes from being buddy buddy with Cenarius and his offspring. Honestly they always came off to me as being a power on par with just either just one alliance nation or at best a few of them such as Lordaeron and Quel'thalas combined. Certainly a major power in Kalimdor where their only rival civilizations are either sealed away or nomadic but not a superpower on the world stage.

They're mostly invested in the emerald dream but they(and their allies) were a faction in Warcraft 3.

I figure that they should've been able to build up the required numbers exactly because of their immortality and hippy ways. The Third war cost them a lot of Elven lives and the loss of immortality(which I reckon their population growth got adjusted for culturally) probably wrecked them even harder in the aftermath.

Right now though? It's been almost a millennium since the War of the Shifting Sands and they currently hold more territory than the alliance(and arguably the horde) had at the start of the second war.

No they just hold the northern part of Kalimdor, they mostly ignore the southern half save for a few patrols to make sure nothing nasty takes root. As for their immortality dood they are tree hugging hippies. They probably maintain strict population controls to make sure their environmental foot print doesn't harm the environment. Hell they don't even have any cities at this point. Not to mention the war of shifting sands doesn't exactly speak confidently of night elf military capability, they got their asses kicked even with dragon help.

You do realize that "the war of shifting sands" was basically one of the three Old God bug servants getting their game-face on, not needing to worry about Old God corruption (for obvious reasons) and probably had Old God backing? That ain't laughing matter.
Look what us nerubians managed to do *while fighting against our creator god*. We fought and defeated the Burning Legion's incursion as well as shattered the undead Scourge before they could even fort down.

Not to mention they had a lot of time to prepare and the elves were fighting well away from their preferred territory.

Entirety of the north(uncorrupted Felwood, Azshara and Ashenvale still basically uncontested) plus most of the west coast(Feralas still counts as ancestral forests, Stonetalon is a holy place, not a strong presence in the Desolace or Silithus though).

Also, yes, they probably have the art of controlling their ecological footprint down to a science by now. only had 10.000 years to practice it by now. They can gather wood from trees in almost the same time it takes a human to cut down a tree... without damaging the tree itself.

They also lack any natural rival at this stage. The Qiraji are sealed, the Centaur and Tauren are scattered tribes, Orcs and Ogres might not even have arrived yet and the Trolls are down in Tanaris...

Is there anything you guys want to contest on? And what do you want to have DD, RA, LB on?

[X] DD Halls of Stone
[X] RA Diplomacy
[X] LB Diplomacy

We really want to succeed on Halls, and Diplomacy has the most rolls.

We might want to put something on Patching Relations and/or Personal. We really don't want to screw up getting the people on our side again.

[X] DD Halls of Stone
[X] RA Diplomacy
[X] LB N/A

No need for LB, Diplomacy shouldn't blow up in our faces at all.
