Vulgar Engines: A Game About Robots, Revanchism and (Space) Romans

This is a major WIP, but I think I finally have an idea I like. The nation out beyond everyone else, that is essentially an old NUN Minor Department trying for the Unity and Supremacy Victory. While totally not being a crazy bureaucratic cult based on the idea of becoming visitors themselves and controlling reality... Never.
New United Nations Department of Interstellar Research and Communication (Acolytes of Eternity)

Location: Oort Cloud
Population: Minor Enclave [Production Bonus]
Advantages: 4 (-6) Engine of Pride, Human Plus, Visitor Reclaimers, Activation Ubiquity, Adapted to [Kuiper Belt]
Disadvantages: 3 (+3) Cursed by Space, Engine of Disaster, Islands in Space
Prosperity: 2 (-1)
Our people are blessed to be able to enjoy this wealth so far beyond the warmth of Sol. The cleansing scent of orange in the air from Scrubbers, and the plentiful tankfood allows a sense of homeyness underneath the elaborate starscapes projected from the ceiling.
Wealth Rating: 1 (-1) Wealth Rating 45
There is no wealth beyond knowledge to be found here. We are comfortable with our existence, and do not see the need for Material Things. (Will sell superweapons for new entertainment systems.)
Infrastructure: 3 (-3) Construction Rating 110
To survive in the vast interstellar void between the Inner Cloud and Sol Proper, we have had to develop everything we have ourselves. Thankfully we managed to requisition a Factory Ship or two.
Military support: 1 (-1)
While there are few threats that could get out into the lands of the Acolytes, the constant threat of Imperial Invasion and the wishes of the Keepers assure constant funding. Rumors of the Keepers only being funded to ensure that our Engine doesn't destroy something are completely unfounded.
Military Quality: 2 (-3)
We are the Acolytes of Eternity. Our Keepers may not look fearsome, but they are built to be the next generation of Humanity, capable of taking on any threat with cunning and powers beyond belief.
Engine Size: 1 (-2)
The Unyielding Promise, the glorious ship at the heart of everything we do. In her arms we find a future, but unfortunately there have become issues. The ship since we found it has whispered to those who try to access it, but within the past months it has begun to act even stranger, morphing, bending, warping on the inside while all the time crying out with communication systems we don't yet understand. The High Commisioners are worried, but we cannot dare to harm the very symbol of everything we are and will become.
Engine complexity: 2 (-4)
The Unyielding Promise has taught us much, a mechanism without equal in it's complex abilities.
Homeland Support: 0 (0)
We had contacts. They no longer have heads unfortunately, which has hindered our efforts. Even our contacts in America are... strenuous at best.
Visitor Adaption: 2 (-6)
We have integrated the words of the Promise into our daily lives and made it's vision ours.
As per the First Commission on Common Research Initiatives and Independent Commerce, Circa 0AE:
Mandate of Halley-Oort:(Production:65/Wealth:25) (CAPITAL)
Oldest of the mandates by time inhabited, also holds the Unyielding Promise and Antikythera Station, Home Base of the Interstellar Department.
Mandate of San Telmo:(Production:47/Wealth:17)
Currently under the mandate of High Commissioner Rosa Gallo, Head of the Commision for Stellar Cartography and the Attendent of Visions. One of the Mandates with higher population, containing several smaller research stations, and several families.
Mandate of Brasília:(Production:107/Wealth:27)
The last of the Central Mandates, Brasilia is known mostly for it's manufacturing and lively buisnesses. Currently, they are the only producers of fine drinks not made of illicit alcohol from moldy undergrown starchcrop. As you can expect the bar scene is one of the best in the Mandates.
Mandate of Dumas:(Production:17/Wealth:12)
Created by the late Low Commisioner Thomas Lucroy as part of a strange experiment, it's orginal size has been split up to accomidate for the newer wave of smaller personal mandates. However, it still holds some of the more fascinating "relics", and the Lucroy family is fiercely holding the mandate claim by actively researching their possible benefits.
Mandate of Cadiz:(Production:27/Wealth:12)
A Border Mandate created by the Spanish platoon of Peacekeepers, now provides a sanctuary for any Keeper personnel and hosts many of their Ships.
Mandate of Truscott:(Production:12/Wealth:12)
The smallest of the border mandates actually mentioned in the treaty. Currently maintained by Samuel Truscott and Anomaly Research Lab 5, it coordinates with the smallest of the Border Mandates and is generally regarded as the Last Stop before you leave into the intense void of the actual Oort Cloud.
Common Border Mandates (Mandate of Sophia, Mandate of Solaris, Mandate of Marx, Mandate of Constantinople, Mandate of Get off my Lawn you Hippies!... ETC):
(Production:12/Wealth:12)
The very Frontier for even the void-bound acolytes, these dozens of mandates often only have less than a dozen individuals living in any sort of ship or tiny asteroid trying to investigate some minor artifact, understand one tiny portion of the secrets of the Unyeilding Promise, or any number of things. They are regarded as strange and insular by many, although they often recognise the problems with that.
Now whether or not we might be the ones trying to get Vulgar Engines to Space America is, of course, up to Space America. Any opinions?

The Totally Not Space Nazis built their own smaller moon-sized battlestation, on the moon. They told the Neo Romans it was an giant orbital pleasure palace/asteroid refinery/space hotel. It was quite a shock when it's test-drive accidentally evaporated the local garrison. Quite a shock.

New United Nations Department of Interstellar Research and Communication (Acolytes of Infinity)

Location: Oort Cloud
Population: Minor Enclave (25 Points to spend): A small station with a few thousand aboard, potentially representing a small ethnic group or fringe ideology. Adds +1 to Prosperity, +1 to National Advantages and Visitor Adaptation costs 75% of normal
Advantages: 2 (-3) Engine of Pride, Human Plus, Visitor Reclaimers, Activation Ubiquity
Disadvantages: 2 (+2) Cursed by Space, Engine of Disaster
Prosperity: 2 (-1) Your people live in spin or artificial gravity, eating tasty facsimiles of real food under an artificial sky. At this level population growth begins to hit positives.
Wealth Rating: 1 (-1) Wealth Rating 45
Infrastructure: 3 (-3) Construction Rating 110
Military support: 1 (-1)
Military Quality: 2 (-3)
Very little ever goes wrong that can legitimately blamed on human error. Your soldiers are generally respected by the Imperials, who see you as showing your own lesser Roman virtue.
Engine Size: 1 (-2) Dragon-Class
Engine complexity: 2 (-4)
Homeland Support: 0 (0)
We had contacts. They were all executed by the Roman Government for being involved with the Administration.
Visitor Adaption: 2 (-8) Our technological superiority ensures our dominance.

Now whether or not we might be the ones trying to get Vulgar Engines to Space America is, of course, up to Space America. Any opinions?

Space America is happy to help!

Ah, Brilliant! I found the idea fun that our main way of getting money and developing contacts back at the old NUN was trying to sell you massive super weapons (as was our original secret mandate) and then they all got stolen in flight. Should make for a fun opening plotline, aside from totally not trying to become post-dimensional beings to defeat the space romans and take over the universe.

We also of course made all our own things.

Imperial Space Japan not only didn't steal anything, they built everything they have - including their utopian, unhappiness-free society - by themselves. And with their vast array of tireless industrial robots.

You would not believe how much of a fixer-upper ZEMAJCEK was. Seriously, it's like the people who built it had no idea how to work with Visitor tech.

@Havocfett I suppose I was trying to go for a cross between Space!Roma and the AdMech, but I think it turned out to be more Space!Roma than AdMech.

*Holds up "Will do tech support for food" sign.*

I can't tell you how accurate or not the description of me is cause you guys don't really know me very well, other than I'm descended from some interstellar expedition launched ages ago.

Which means you should come visit the New United Nations Department of Interstellar Research and Communication first! Don't be shy, we have lovely food, great atmosphere, Space Wizards, and it is of course our job to debrief you about all the terrible things that have happened since you left out fair solar system.

And then maybe we can be Space Wizard Friends?

Obviously the best and most Moon Dwellerist of factions, who are totally not Nazis, are not Nazis, thus the descriptions cannot possibly be taken as factually accurate in any circumstances.

Boozing took a little more out of me this weekend then expected. Update soon.

Wow, I wound up really really sick. And then immediately after recovering from it I went on a bender with friends.

So hey, your GM is the worst. Update tomorrow.

This is still on.
