Villainous Ideals EP 3

For all we know the box could also just be lying when it says that and doing what it says will just lead to the release of some Eldritch abomination or some other disaster.

I'm not surprised the Big Guys have been keeping an eye turned toward us. I mean, seriously, we rose to A-rank in little over a year. A year.

That has got to be some kind of record.

[X]''I could make it rust-proof rather easily, if you want. But my instincts tells me that's not why you are here. So to what do I owe this visit?''
[X]''I'm assuming that you're the reason why Avalon hasn't dropped on my head yet

"You would be right actually." Mr E, unclasps his hands and waves at you. "Go ahead take a seat. Rest your shaky legs. I congratulate you on not fainting in terror. It's always embarrassing when that happens."

You take the seat, glancing at Anti who's taken a guarding stance. From what you can tell he's ready to intervene as necessary, but you hope he realizes the issue here.

"I could imagine." You state, trying to keep things from going silent.

"It's not so bad when it's civilians. They are just bit players." The Villain looks at Captain Red's still form. "When it's villains capable of shattering cities, it gets a bit much."

You honestly don't blame them. Mr E's reputation is not exaggerated. The list of things he's done has filled books. Not all of it murder, but more than one city has been turned upside-down. There are also reports of him quite literally turning Heroes villains and Villains heroes on the same night. Your best hope is to come out of this intact.

"Not much to say?" Mr E taps at the prison with a gloved hand. "Don't blame you. Not many people do. But I'm digressing. Avalon isn't attacking because of two reasons. One is Eternal wanted to give Red here a chance." He waves to the Hero. "The other is they just got word of my disappearance. It's standard procedure to do a lock-down when I escape. Or rather when they detect my escape. I've been out for a month. Ever since I almost brought down the station they've been really careful."

Yeah, you can see that. "So they are going to be certain you haven't gotten up there."

"Eternal probably knows what's going on, but he knows how the game works right. Better than I do actually." Mr E shrugs and turns back to you. "So he knows I'm here on business."

"Business?" You swallow slightly and get ready to signal for help.

"Yes. So I'm not going to make your pretty little reactor go boom." Mr E sighs sadly at the missed opportunity. "It would be beautiful, but business before pleasure and all that. You see, by the rules of the game you've basically demonstrated you are competent." He gestures back towards Captain Red. "Your rival over here is less so, but he's more a team player, so he gets a bit of a pass for now."

"And that means?" You have no idea what he's getting on about, but best to play along.

"That gets to the reason I'm here." Mr E pulls out his knife and twirls it a bit. "You see, I help make certain people play by the rules. Heroes in one place, Villains in the other. If you aren't being a proper villain... Well I don't use this knife." He puts it away still smiling. "Thank you for the offer of making it rust proof. I'll have to decline though. It's my sabature knife, made specifically to short out electronics and such."

"So you are here to check to see if I'm a proper villain." You state uneasily.

"Nah, I've been watching you for awhile." The Villain smiles, and you find yourself very chilled. "I would say you are somewhat. More towards the Chaos side than the Evil side, but I can work with that. No sense in being consistent. Having the same types of players get's boring fast."

You frown behind your mask. "Then why are you here?"

"Ah, getting to the heart of the matter!" Mr E smiles and takes a step back. "You see, I've seen your power. But to properly progress in the game you need more than tricks and traps. You need more than armies." He gestures towards Anti. "Lady Ka'lin had a nation under her command. That sexy fox of yours was one of her prime enchantresses. I'm a big fan of her work by the way. If you want to be in the big leagues you need know two things."

You wait, he appears to be building up to something.

"The first is simple." The Villain spreads his arms wide. "Show me who you are. Show me what defines you. You are Revan yes? Show me what makes your name something that people will tremble at. The second is harder." Here Mr E lets down his arms and steps up closer to you. "It's simple on the face of it. But most people don't realize exactly what it entails. It's a question. What do you want"

He pauses for a moment and continues. "What do you desire? How are you going to achieve it? What will you do when you have it? All wrapped up in the simple point of need." Too close now, and now you feel a unnatural terror. "I want to see these things. Because if you want to be in the big leagues you have to prove it to me."

Mr E steps back once, and folds his hands in front of himself. Like that the terror is gone, but the chill lingers. "You have twenty four hours. Fail, and your base goes up in flames and Avalon finds your unconscious body at their doorstep. Succeed? And perhaps I might show you something grand. A proper villain never dies after all."

Shit!

PS: Don't make a vote now just plans with[Y] since we want to get it right.

Well well. Things just got rather interesting.
So, I take it we're now going to decide both Revan's goal as a villain as well as what defines him correct? Along with doing something that sets him on the path towards said goal.
Basically. It doesn't have to be absolutely spectacular, but it does have to be iconic.

A quick question

Can we use our Last BluePrint to make a Doctor Bot? Because We had one saved before the whole Vandalised the moon thing and we didn't specify anything for the blueprint

PS: You gave a 6 blueprints for the A Rank Up Event. AFAIK that's exclusive of our Blueprint in the Bank

Anyone else have shaky hands* for the update. This is so freaking awesome

*Or my roommate turn the Air cond far too low again

Malcolmo said:
Ok. That should be doable.

Also, did you have the Shadows from Babylon 5 in mind when you wrote the "What do you want?" part?
Kind of. The questions themselves are pretty important in general so I don't mind the comparison. It's why they resonate so well. Eternal, had he intervened would have done "Who are you." You all actually dodged a bullet there. Had you killed Beatrix, Captain Red would have requested aid, and Eternal would have basically blown up your base and teleported you to the Himalayas.

Yep, you can! Was going to add it to the update but I forgot.

-[] Invite Mr.E to work for us
--[] "So why don't you work for me Mr.E?" / "You said it your self the same type of Player's makes the game far more boring than it has to be"
---[] When he inevtiably denies us. Move on to answering his questions.
-[] "People will tremble in fear, will live in hope because I have something so few would ever have. I am a man of Indutry. It's not personal power or the handful of my more, dangerous bots, but it's the backbone of my workforce, the brunt of my grunts. I am a man that will rule through the massess because I can offer them what no Hero can. Jobs, Money, Security. And they'll come to me because I'm simply the better option. Better than the government that lords over them, better than the society they made for themselves"
-[] And what will I do with it. I'll be the King. They'll be my people. My magnum Opus and my crown Jewel. I'll hold back because a King is needs a Kingdom and Kingdom is made by the people in it

He already said that that sort of thing wont work. Magic equivalent already tried and failed.
If you were talking about Mass Production and Large Countries not being able to work because of the Lady Vampire failed at it then let me say this.

Correlation Does Not Equal Causation

Basically the fact that she failed doesn't actually mean that the idea itself is invalid

Lost Star said:
BTW Lost did the fact that Lady Kali fail proof that mass Economics will not work

Tying to make our state and win from there.
I was more thinking along the lines of Subverting the Country through Charisma, Psychology, teleportation to cross borders and genuinely better working situation for the people.

That plus the fact that the innocent people are good meat shields to stop Hero Interference

He's basically stating that power alone isn't enough. Nothing else.

So basically that Power (Armies, Personal, ETC) is not enought.

We must have an Icon about ourself that makes us great.

And a goal worthy for our exaltations

The last wolf said:
And then Eternal stomps you.
To be fair Eternal would stomp us no matter what our build is and generally anything that can stop* Eternal would be something that should work for just about any build.

IIRC that is.

*Abusing his rulings, Make it too much collateral damage to bother, make deals with other A rankers, etc]

edit: Ninjae'd

In the end though, we have similar idea, only that your is needlessly focused.

Instead of "ruling through various Hero units" i propose "making fake Hero units to fit the task" which doesn't exclude first idea.
Fixed that for you. The thing about Revan is that his Bots are incapable of matching with real Supers on a 1 to 1 basis. As a result we really need to compensate with numbers.

But here with have Mr. E telling us that our (current*)strategy is not enough. Just making stuff isn't enough. So we need an extra something to build up of our "Make more bots" strategy**

PS: Anyone with a good ideas as to our goals. Personally I like being Gilgamesh or Alexander of the world

*current because our plans for scale haven't been implemented yet.

** Adding Rule both Bots and People to our strategy is my addendum

---[] When he inevtiably denies us. Move on to answering his questions. If he accepts, then on to chaos
-[] Motion Anti and Brilliance to the fore. Also show Mr. E the blueprints that we made for our three new Minions
--[]I am a builder. And I loved what ever I made. And they are my pride, my joy. Who am I? I am Revan Firebrand. Who is Revan? He's the Creator. Fake though they are do you think that it stops my creations, my children, my family from taking on Supers and winning. Because that's what I am. I am Revan and those that are mine will always be better, in spite of everything to the contrary.
-[] I do not intend to conquer. To overcome and rule by force would not be proof of our complete superiority. I will only accept the willing submission of my enemies, and until that time I will create something so superior to man that we can compete with man and win every war - if not every battle. A race that can live on man's own home, and thrive despite their best efforts.

The only flaw is our goals. If worse comes to worse we actually do need to have something that we can act upon since our goals is probably our finishing line as well. Make something that our mentality won't fit and the quest get's boring. Make something too difficult and we suffer from not being able to finish it quickly enough to matter.
