Also: would it be possible to use 10d10 instead of 1d100? It allows for a much more steady but still fairly random distribution (bell curve instead of a straight line)
This may be very early, but here is a first draft of the turn one research plan that we can discuss
We have no Energy, that needs to be fixed right now if we want to build more stuff. Farms are inferior to Greenhouses, better to just save for mass construction later since our Food upkeep is 440 I think.
That is correct, but you're missing something. There is no Nanomateriel gain right now.
This is correct, but our current options for nano production are absolute crap (25 months for return on investment) hopefully get better options after some research. preliminary research and build plans coming up shortlyFirst step is Thanatonium and Nanomaterial production facilities then. They gate everything. We need lots of them, and early.
...
Hole in galaxy...
IIRC only one I know is Gunbuster. Which imply things.
And potentials like WH40k with GEOM-reborn or Necron wiping out Eye of Terror or Milky Way becoming ground of rapid breeding of Entities are not exactly better.

Yes but we need Energy to make Nano Convs. Ergo, we build Than Reacts then Nano Convs and Greenhouses. That is correct, but you're missing something. There is no Nanomateriel gain right now.

Still not a fan of Mechs. Would rather keep our WW2 Aesthetic and upgrading current tech.
Is this correct? If so, then a Nanomaterial Converter will take 25 months to completely pay for itself. If we're playing on the order of years for turns, that's fine, but if we're playing months for turns, its going to take a long time to ramp up.[ ] Nanomaterial Converter (N500; E100)
+20 Nanomaterial Per Month
Ion Thrusters (0/500) (+20 to research rolls from example of tech)
Fuel? Whats that? This these ships will have more room for armor weapons supplies whatever. It will also allow for the beginnings of a Fog space fleet, and is in fact required for it unless you want to have to worry about fuel all the time.

[X] ThanatoniumReactor (N800) x9
[X] ThanatoniumRefinery (N800; E100) x5

Could you two mind telling me why you two went with this? We'd still have a food deficit and we'd still have a lot in the bank. Also, I'd think that with the long pay-off period, we'd almost be better off plowing as much nanomaterial as we can into making more nanomaterial to try to recoup the investment at the earliest possible opportunity with the low return rate.[X] Nanomaterial Converter (N500; E100) x40

Considering that transformation systems are canon for AoBS, I'd say probably, but its up to the QM. On a slightly related note, I'm of the opinion that Mechs essentially run off of Rule of Cool. We'd probably be better served just making a helicopter or jet fighter sized craft for use in all theaters, whether it's space, air, sea, or land....can we make things with multiple forms? Like say a PT boat type shuttle craft that can reformat itself into a mech or sub or any of a variety of uses?
Yes, but things will happen in the month so some/most will have multiple snips.
This is correct, instead of constantly keeping tract of Upkeep (which doesn't exist for Nanomateriel), I did it this way.I'm assuming the energy cost listed is to run the facilities not make them
Yes, that is part of what the Fog does. No, not Mecha because this is something Fog is not familiar with, and we are not having ships that turn into robots. This is neither Transformers of Robotech. Yet?Like say a PT boat type shuttle craft that can reformat itself into a mech or sub or any of a variety of uses?
A turn is a month as said above, but there are avenues of research that will boost the income by a considerable degree. Is this correct? Ah... oops. And I had just finished rereading the Manga. Gonna go get rid of that I guess. If this image from the anime opening and similar ones for other Fog ships are too be believed, then Fog ships use gravitons to move around. I don't see fuel really being a consideration in light of that with the exception of supplying thanatonium for the main reactors.
While not wrong, the Mecha I'm thinking of are more inline with Gundams but with some built in weapons. The reasoning behind Mecha instead of a fighter or interceptor was. 'Oh hey, there's salvage in system, these things have hands they can collect it.' Instead of having to make a dedicated design for it.On a slightly related note, I'm of the opinion that Mechs essentially run off of Rule of Cool. What about outlaw star style Grappler craft?Yes, but things will happen in the month so some/most will have multiple snips.

That said, feel free to come up with better ideas.
