Insight blinks with an exaggerated gesture, "Not what I expected you to pick first. Good hunting, I'll try to screw up our enemy's plans."
She leans slightly towards you, "And just between us, I think they're running low on big nasties. Kill any you find napping and you'll make quite an impression."
Red and Fiodur are on the other side of the portals. And Goddess Red was irritated at having a shadow made.On the gripping hand, the reason I am hesitating is the combined presence of Goddess Red, Fiodur, and Shadow of Red.
Not in the middle of a major clash. Even Castor and Pollux didn't turn on StarLancer outright, merely allowed her to be killed - and they were quite strong indeed, capable of killing her in direct combat.I wonder if we could order them to attack us to trigger Ceaseless Warrior first and then hit the ambush team. Say it's a preparation for hitting Summit.
Presumably while they might have counter-measures, they also won't be deployed because they are looking to ambush us. If a 26 attack surprise round doesn't just outright kill one or two of them then we were never going to win, or even be able to run from that, period.
Also, maybe the Dark Star guy did recognize us and is lying his ass off to get us into the ambush?
... you're treating Homing like it's Unerring. That's wrong, stop.I have a snippet in the works of Summit doing aggressive entry on a newly found entrance (never expected it would be THAT easy)...
For me, Homing is "dodge, speed gap and blindness" negator, more or less. And I treat it as "guided shots" as in shooting a string of shots vaguely in the same direction allows you to draw the smileys with bullet holes kind of thing.
Since RL recoil, light glare and enemy reacting will all happen when going spray and pray (can't spell them without Ray), Homing is what negates those problems.
Usually, Inhuman Skill does it all for us. But, we've seen Full Auto "negated by excessive range" in one of Moral High Ground clashes, presumably due to shot spread, and I figure Homing (and Coll.Damage) help negate that.
With Magical Girls as the meat of ambush, (as in small numbers), Ray has sufficient multi-target capability to bypass the need for Collateral Damage, so surprise round ought to be Danmaku, Homing, Ray, Triple Shot.
... you're treating Homing like it's Unerring. That's wrong, stop.
Homing = "if I'm looking at you after firing my attack, the attack will adjust its path to follow you, making it more difficult to dodge".unerring is it hits 100%, homing is the bullets can adjust their path then? how much? and would it have interactions with ray and other multi shot abilities since I think the standard use of the multi shot line assumes that a lot of the shots miss.
Homing = "if I'm looking at you after firing my attack, the attack will adjust its path to follow you, making it more difficult to dodge".
It'd be fairly hard to avoid, if that's what you mean.so the question is, if we went full bullet hose with ray would homing help?
Presumably, you'd get something along the lines of this:so the question is, if we went full bullet hose with ray would homing help?
It's not going to increase your damage at all. That's not how that works.mostly I'm curios if it would do anything beyond making it harder to dodge. since I'd peg ray as the point where your no longer ensuring every single shot will hit as a baseline. or if it would reduce the loss of damage if we swept rary across a group of targets since it would always be aiming at someone rather than some being wasted on the ground.
It's not going to increase your damage at all. That's not how that works.
so the logic of hitting with 100 bullets out of an attack with a full auto ability rather than hitting with 70 of them wouldn't increase effectiveness? I mean I'm assuming a typical full auto attack has some shots miss, so it would get some extra benefit out of not missing those shots.
Well there's your problem. You're making assumptions and running with them as if they were confirmed.I mean I'm assuming a typical full auto attack has some shots miss
Well there's your problem. You're making assumptions and running with them as if they were confirmed.
It's like the whole "Collateral Damage should totes negate Large Enemy" debacle all over again. Please don't repeat the CD vs LE Debacle.
I... don't understand the question?I seem to have been mistaken. wait, does that mean they do no collateral damage if they don't hit the target? since they don't miss any shots by default?
Yeeeess? If you don't miss the attack and it doesn't have collateral damage from one source or other, you don't really damage your surroundings much. Why is this a question?you said that in a full auto attack all the shots hit. so if it's not a powerful enough attack for individual shots to have splash your not going to damage the surroundings at all. so barring overkill it would not damage the surroundings at all.
