You make your way away from the patch of grass and towards the stone archway that Toriel had went through a few minutes ago. You take a look backwards towards where you fell before you decide to move forwards. There was no point in staying in this room after all. And if you wanted to know if things would be different here, then you would have to take the first step forwards.
You pass through the stone arch and past a patch of green grass. Moonlight is shining from above, although the light seems to be... filtered and slightly dim. It was as if the sun was coming in through some sort of filter. Toriel sat on the side with an open book in her hands. There are a small pair of glasses on her muzzle as she flips through the book, waiting for you to be ready to talk. It was then and there that she glances up and gives a small patient smile.
"Hello there... Are you ready to talk now?" she asks kindly. You are bit hesitant at first but your previous pep-talk to yourself bolsters your confidence enough to even to think about trying to trust her.
"...Giorno." you mutter.
"Hmm? I'm sorry, but what did you say?" she asks patiently. The way that she speaks and looks at you reminds you of the times when you saw other mothers interacting with their children: a luxury that you envied. Your own mother had never looked like you in that way before, you don't know what to think.
"My name... is Giorno Giovanna." you reply with a bit more strength in your voice. Toriel smiles at you warmly again before stowing away her book.
"It is nice to meet you Giorno. You must be hungry after going through so much. Come now, my child, I'll take care of you."
Toriel offers you her furry hand to hold onto so she can guide you through whatever lies ahead. You reach out, but you hesitate for a split second. But you know that if you want things to be different, you too would have to change to meet them. Steeling yourself, you grasp Toriel's hand to take the first step in trusting her (Trust has increased by 1!).
Her hand feels warm and you feel the same kind of warmness in your chest. Something that you haven't felt in a very long time:「HOPE」
Toriel gives you a kind smile as you begin to walk out of the passage-way with your hand in hers.
