A few taps of holographic keys set the Priority Repair System to repair the left arm's Lightwave Shield.

Roll 1d100 Priority Repair = 85! Left Arm Lightwave Shield Condition is now 7+85!

[X] Practice with the White Doll.

You take the White Doll back to your usual training ground in the wilderness beyond the Heim Mines. At some point you will have to pick somewhere else to practice, like after Corin and Arisa defect, lest someone try to ambush you here. Speaking of Corin and Arisa, you wave at them after the White Doll notices their Leos. They are busily throwing camouflage tarps over a pair of containers not far from what seems to be a small observation post. Probably their cover for being out here.

As for the reason you are here, you turn your back on them to lessen the chance of hitting them with any stray beam fire before resuming the regimen you designed for yourself.

+3 Pilot XP.

[X] Spend time with the disguised Queen Dianna.

Between the odd patrol and errand that Lord Guin sends you off on you find the time to help out the disguised Queen Dianna as she performs Miss Kihel's duties as Lord Guin's secretary. There is not much in the way of conversation from her. in fact, judging by her Pressure, she is actively giving you the cold shoulder.

She is more than happy to use you as a pack mule though.

After a few hours of this you excuse yourself. You had hoped to talk to her about what she thought of the current situation, or even just what her plan is to trade places with Kihel, but that will not be happening today it seems.

"Loran Cehack."

You stop at the door. "Yes, your Majesty?"

Dianna-as-Kihel is looking at you with an unreadable expression, but you can sense her Pressure churning underneath. Most of it is the same as when you told her and Lord Guin that you are of the Moonrace, but there is a lot of…curiosity, you think, mixed in with the worry, irritation and suspicion.

"Corin Nander…" She begins. "And this Arisa woman…did they bring up your mother when they contacted you?"

I don't see any point in lying about it.

Also, high rolls on the Lightwave Repair. EXCELLENT!

[X] "Yes." (Truth)
--[X] "Why do you ask?"

After a moment of consideration you turn around to face her. "Yes. Why do you ask?"

Dianna-as-Kihel doesn't answer at first, merely looking at you appraisingly. "How much do you know about Laura Cehack's life before the Calamity?"

"Almost nothing." You readily admit. "Only that she was a materials researcher back then as well."

Her eyes narrow. "So you had no idea that she was my mother's right hand woman?"

What. Your mother used to be Queen Junno's right hand?

Queen Dianna sighs. "I see that you didn't. I suppose that was to be expected; my mother told me that Laura and she had a falling out right before the Calamity." She puts down the papers she was handling. "I never met the woman in person, only heard about her from my mother."

When it becomes clear that you are too stunned to answer her she turns away from you. "That was all, Loran. You may go."

The next day is the day of the defection. You enter the White Doll right before lunch and landskim towards your training area. Corin and Arisa are already there waiting for you, both of them looking extremely pleased with themselves.

"We got to sneak off with a whole extra cockpit block!" Corin crows as he proudly gestures towards the two containers of Leo parts. True to his word, there is a cockpit block in one of them. With this you would construct an entire new Leo out of spare parts if you wanted, or even hand it over so that Lord Guin could try to replicate the boxy mobile suit. Alternatively you could just keep it as a spare part, but you will cross that bridge when you get to it.

"We also got some spare sets of Leo weapons." Arisa pipes up, her Leo patting the third container. "Come and take your pick!"

Choose 3

[] Leo Machinegun.
[] Leo Beam Rifle.
[] Dober Gun.
[] No Second Weapon.
[] No Third Weapon.
[] You'll refrain from getting any Leo weapons.

Once you have made your choice both Arisa and Corin exit their Mobile Suits, rappelling down to the ground so that they can bring a box out of the innermost space under the camouflage tarp. They rummage through it for a bit before Arisa cries out in triumph and withdraws a…cube?

The cube is made of some kind of iridescent, rippling metal. Not something you recognize. You open the hatch to the White Doll's cockpit to ask them. "What is that?"

"It is a Turn-Type Nano-Block!" Yells Corin in return. "Let us up and we'll show you!"

You let them enter the White Doll's hand and take them up to the cockpit to get a closer look. "Junno and her goons cleared out our caches after things went down against the Turn A, but we managed to stash away this one." Arisa tells you on their way up.

"This thing is made up of the same kind of nanomachine that the Turn X is made of." Corin explains while leaning into the cockpit. "But these ones are all juiced up with energy as if the Turn X is fully awake."

He hands it over to you. "Put this thing somewhere, pick a target system, and BOOM! Instantly fixed!"

That sounds…incredibly useful. You put the Nano Block against the wall of the cockpit and a holoscreen instantly pops up displaying the White Doll's systems.

All of them. Even the destroyed ones.

On the one hand, this may be the only way to repair destroyed stuff for a really really long time.

On the other hand completely fixing our armor or the Voiture Lumiere or one of the stealth systems is an incredibly attractive prospect.

Gonna need to sleep on this.

[x] Leo Beam Rifle.
[x] Dober Gun.
[x] No Third Weapon.

I don't expect the Leo MG to ever be useful. No reason to tie up a slot in the backpack on it.

I'm inclined to vote for the armor, just because there's only two canon integral weapons I want as much as I want the armor, and I don't know which destroyed right arm weapon is the rest of the Weld-Off Manipulator and the Power Drainer seems to be missing from the list.

[x] Use the Nano Block on a damaged system.
--[x] Armor.

If someone can convince me that one specific right arm weapon option is definitely the rest of the Weld-Off Manipulator I'll vote for that so we can SHINING FINGER enemies. Otherwise I'm voting for bringing back the Turn-X's lolbullshit armor.

Really want that back.

People voting for the Right Arm weapon: You know the Turn X has the right arm weapons? One of them is the rest of the Destruction Manipulator - fixing this gives us a beam cannon, probably a much stronger beam saber and SHINING FINGER. The other gives us grapple wires. Lame.

And there's three beam emitters and three grapple wires. That's pretty much why I'm not voting right arm, I don't know which gives us the full power of the Destruction Manipulator.

The other reason is that given how good the Turn X's armor is at Heavily Damaged I expect bringing it to full repair will make us damn near invulnerable and so we won't need to use any more focused repair on integrity for quite a while.

You decide on a Beam Rifle and one of the large cannons, named Dober Guns by Corin. The White Doll's backpack shifts for accommodate the weapons after a brief scan, and just like that you have vastly expanded your ranged firepower.

[X] Use the Nano Block on a damaged system.
--[X] Armor.

After some consideration you forego restoring one of the damaged systems in favor of using the Nano Block on the White Doll's armor. There doesn't seem to be any outward difference once the multicolored mist from the activated Nano Block dissipates, but from the way the system is displayed in a healthy shade of green on the holographic display proves that the situation is vastly improved.

White Doll Armor completely restored!

The next hour or so is spent helping Corin and Arisa pack up to head towards the Heim Mines, and from there to Lord Guin's village for an interview.

At least, that was what the plan was before more than a dozen Moonrace ships descended through the clouds. A moment of going through the White Doll's memory shows that it hasn't detected any of the ships at the landing zone taking off, so these must be new ones making the Return. But...

Didn't Queen Dianna agree to halt the Return until a proper treaty could be signed?

Whatever is going on, the three of you hurry to suit up. Less than half of the descending fleet is made up of battleships, the rest being transports, but that doesn't mean that-

A beam, a WaDom's Siege Beam, to be exact, lances out from a spot near the Heim Mines to graze the side of a descending Almaiya. Stunned, you slowly make yourself bring the White Doll's sensors to bear on the location the beam was fired from. Please do not let it have been then they could not possibly be this stupid-

The culprit is a red-painted WaDom, the intact one you gave to the Militia almost a month ago. How can they be this stupid, don't they realize that Nocis is between them and the fleet!?

The Moonrace fleet isn't firing back at the moment, nor are they low enough that they'll be shooting through Nocis just yet, but still! The transports are continuing ahead to the landing zone while the battleships are flying over Nocis on their way to the WaDom.

Corin and Arisa is tow, you decide to-

Wait, a 1+ armor save? Is that total immunity to anything that doesn't have some way to worsen our armor save?

And how does Nano-Lamination work, because if I'm reading that right we're already immune to non-Penetrating everything because we can't fail the save.

Taking out the WaDom seems a lot easier, and they shot first.
